*STATE OF THE NATION*

I have been following closely the activities of this government and whenever I have the opportunity, I try to find out the opinions of people as regards the performance of this government.

I just realized that the hardship faced by many Nigerians is simply as a result of the fact that almost everyone of us benefited from the cycle of corruption.

The bricklayer, plumber, laborers, tiler are all complaining because building construction has slowed down massively cause the thieves no longer have money to spend on real estate.

The car dealers are grumbling because their cars are begging for buyers. Thieves can no longer spend wastefully.

The private school owners are shouting because parents can no longer pay outrageous sums and are withdrawing their wards.

I was shocked when I learn that in a popular private University in Abuja, parents are writing undertaking at the account section for their children to be allowed to write exams... and it goes on and on.

The fact is, a lot of people are returning to what someone referred to as ''default mode''.

We mostly have been living above our REAL MEANS.

We have been staying in houses that ordinarily our incomes can't afford.

Our children going to schools we can't afford. Driving cars we ordinarily can't maintain.

We have been living a FAKE LIFE all along. Now the reality is before us and we don't want to accept it.

This shows how morally bankrupt we are.

You can't eat your Cake and have it. Take Note..."GOD HELP AND BLESS NIGERIA"

You got billions from bank without collateral using your political influence. You put half into your business and spent the other half on exotic cars, jeweleries, etc.

Your business employs 100 people normally. You get illegal waivers and concessions to import raw materials at rock bottom prices, you get over-inflated contract to supply government some goods your company produce....in short your company is kept afloat by corruption.

Now the new SHERIFF in town says:

no more ridiculous waivers,
no more inflated contracts, no more bank loans without collateral, in fact its time you or your company pay off the billions of debt owed.....

AMCON takes over your company, staff are laid off......And you go on air and say the new sheriff is killing business and causing unemployment..

The truth is....you and your company were never in business, you were only feeding off the system.

Too many companies and banks are funded by corruption. Remove corruption from the system and they collapse.......and we end up blaming the person that removes corruption for the collapse of the corruptly run fake company.

Its like our system and corruption are so interwoven and inseparable that removing one will kill the other.

Maybe we should tolerate and learn to live with corruption so that Nigeria can survive?

Recession: What recession? If you think Nigeria is broke, then you are living in another planet. Now, please read the information below and tell me why Nigerians crying of hardship are comfortable with the bold looting of their collective wealth by the politicians.

A SELF DECEIVING COUNTRY CALLED NIGERIA

Twenty-one senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors.

The current senators who once served as governors are Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Kabiru Gaya of Kano, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Theodore Orji of Abia, Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi, Shaaba Lafiagi of Kwara, Joshua Dariye of Plateau Jonah Jang of Plateau, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto, Ahmed Sani Yarima of Zamfara, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe, Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, George Akume of Benue and Isiaka Adeleke of Osun(now late).

The former deputy governors in the Senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi of Ekiti and Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe of Abia. Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba state.

Many former governors are also in Buhari's Cabinet as Ministers. This includes: Ngige, Fayemi, Amaechi and Fashola (SAN).).

In Akwa Ibom State, the law provides that ex governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and a utility vehicle every four years; one personal aide; a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding N5 million per month and N2.5 million for his deputy governor.

In Rivers, the law provides 100 percent of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and deputy, one residential house for the former governor “anywhere of his choice in Nigeria”; one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for the ex-governor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years.

It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at N500 million in Lagos and N700 million in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years; a furniture allowance of 300 percent of annual salary to be paid every two years, and a N30 million pension annually for life.

This is the reality for all the 21 ex govenors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex governors who are now serving as Ministers.

NOW I ASK:
How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life? Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be so outrageous?

As if that is not enough: HOW on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria?

IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE......

Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like former Senate President David Mark.

Yet these senators are in the Senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pockets approximately 30 million naira monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating States/Regions to save the country from sectional agitations that is threatening to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us.

Do you know that it costs tax payers 290m Naira yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works & 80% of population earn below 300 Naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; it's more than the salary of 42 Army generals or 48 professors or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US President or 9 times the salary of US congressmen.

It's high time the country had a referendum on those outrageous salaries of Senators, House of Representative members and other political office holders.

*If you are seriously against the looting of our commonwealth in Nigeria, in the name of democracy, you can let this piece go viral by sharing it with as many of your contacts and groups too!*

I just got a message from a very close friend - His latest account with MMM has just been frozen after putting about N1.5m in the Ponzi scheme again early this month.

He put his money in the scheme without informing any of his friends on his stupid plan because we will try to talk him out of such investment. Now, he is in the same situation he was in when the Ponzi scheme crashed late last year.

Nigerians never learn from history. This get-rich-quick-at-all-cost mentality has increase our "stupidity" and "fallability" exponentially.

For those still investing in MMM, I wish you luck.

You know we Afonjas have a saying - "the hunting dog that will get lost will not listen to the hunters whistle". That is what I am seeing now. Your likes will not listen to the voice of reasoning until your are lost (destroyed).

It is the reckless stupidity in form of HATE SPEECHES of jobless people like you that is taking Nigeria on destruction path.

You know the funny part of it, it is the likes of you that will suffer the impact of the destruction most. The likes of Oyegun and rich elites (including Igbo Elites) will escape abroad like Ojukwu did during the Civil war. The jobless idiots like you are the ones that will die in the war.

After a lot of lives of people of your like have been lost, the elites will seat around a round table (maybe) in New-York to resolve to continue to leave in peace - Exactly like after the Civil war.

If you don't know this facts, then you have no iota brain matter in your head. Even if you cannot reason this out, go and read the history. Read history of Nigerian civil war or history of other countries civil wars for that matter.

So I bid you to continue in your stupidity to beat the drums of war. Let us see who will dance to your beats.

No point arguing with you. Hatred has clouded your brain. Nobody needs to relocate before asking for self determination. This is just silly blackmail. Even after Biafra is created, you will still have Biafrans in Nigeria whether you like it or not.
Point of correction, I have no hatred for the Igbos. In fact some of my closest friends are Igbos. My best friend is married to a wonderful Igbo woman. I do tell then the same thing I am trying to pass across to you and your fellow IPOBs demanding a state of Biafra - while I respect your right to self rule, a right to Biafra if you so wish, you should be ready to face the sacrifice that is required to break away from Nigeria. It is going to come at a huge price. You should be able to bear the consequences of it, the consequences are going to be humongous.

I don't think 95% of you really know what you want nor are really prepared to bear the consequences of your demand. You definitely don't understand and you are not ready to face reality if you can say "you will still have Biafrans in Nigeria whether you like it or not". Who will make that call? Biafrans or Nigerians? Wake up. I said be careful what you ask for. As you have the right to demand Biafra, so do the remaining Nigerians have the right to demand you leave their country, Nigeria. The truth is you can't be controlling Biafra and still expect to have a say in Nigeria. You can't "eat your cake and have it". There will not be anybody that is Biafran-Nigerian nor Nigerian-Biafran. It is either you are Nigerian or you are a Biafran.

Most of you seat in the comfort of your room and post demands for the state of Biafra on social media without thinking of what it will cost you to attain Biafra. You think it is just enough to say we want Biafra and everybody will just say ok have your Biafra and still continue to do your business in Ladipo, Alaba, Kaduna, Kano and even Abuja or Diobu in Portharcourt for that matter. That is dreaming, that is not reality my friend. The reality is you will seize to be Nigerians thus will have no say in Nigeria. Nigeria and Nigerians might even close it borders to you, you have no control over that decision because you are no more Nigerians. Do you remember what happened during "Ghana must go", this time, it will be "Igbo must go". That is what Arewa is already telling you.

That is the reality my dear friend whether you abuse me or not. Think logically, not with emotions.

Are you not supposed to give them Biafra before asking them to leave Nigeria.? Your logic is warped.
Even though they ask for Biafra, they are still Nigerians as at today hence they are free to live any where in the country.
Nobody is holding them from getting Biafra. The simplest thing to do to get Biafra is for all Igbos to relocate to Igboland and then say they are no longer part of Nigeria.

Nobody will take you serious when more than 70% of Igbos are scattered over the section of Nigeria you don't want to be part of.

Relocate to your Igboland. Leave the North. And for seriousness sake, leave the West and maybe the Niger Delta. I am almost sure Ijaw will not be part of your Biafra.

Is that too hard to do?

You ask for Biafra, Arewa youths say, leave our land and go and form your Biafra in Igboland. What is the wahala there? Or are you expecting them to be begging you to continue to be part of Nigeria? The Arewa message is clear and simple, leave the North if you don't want to be part of Nigeria.

Be careful what you ask for. As you have the right to demand Biafra, so the remaining Nigerians have the right to tell you to leave Nigeria.

Nice one from Chiwetalu Agu, son of the soil saying as it is without fear or favour.

Not like that Lagos based slave called Joe Yorubakwe
You IPOBS are confused. You want to "eat your cake and have it"

You said you want Biafra, the Arewa youths said ok, no problem, go and form your Biafra but you are not forming Biafra on Arewa land, go to your homeland. Like the Israelites, take all you can and commence your Exodus to your promised land, Igboland.

What is the problem here? Are you afraid to relocate to your promised land? Do you want to make Lagos/Kano/Portharcourt the capital of Biafra? Do you want to run Biafra from inside Nigeria? Common, I don't understand you people! You should be relocating without anybody preaching it to you if you are serious about this Biafra thing.

It is very simple and there is no quarrel here, you want Biafra, go and have it in Igboland. So all IPOBs should relocate to Biafra. You (Biafrans) and we (Nigerians) do not want Biafrans living in Nigeria. That is where quarrel will come from. That is what Arewa youths are saying. I am sure you will soon be hearing this from the Afonjas.

U no go? Do you understand? Comprenez vous?

Deadlytruth:
There was no evil GEJ did which OBJ had not surpassed before GEJ came on board. Abacha was a saint when compared with OBJ. The genocides committed by OBJ in both Odi and Zakibiam were not replicated in GEJ's time. Any government that deliberately orders the killing of innocent citizens it is meant to protect as it's primarily role has failed altogether.
Obasanjo remains the worst president so far on the strength of the fact that only him twice had the opportunity to change Nigeria for good but in both cases left a legacy of genocide, corruption, election fraud, and all other vices that unmake a nation.

GEJ's only problems were that he was weak, lacked the political will to cause any concrete paradigm shift, pandered to the whims of the very Northern Oligarchy and their Southern collaborators from whose stranglehold he was voted to free the common man, was lukewarm and indifferent to the question of return to true federalism, and was a One-Nigerianist per excellence.
If you talk of Odi and Zakibiam under OBJ, what of Borno, Boko-Haram mess-up and Chibok girls under GEJ.

GEJ borrowed money (over $2b) to fight a war his Army Generals were festering to they could make more money. Not a kobo of that money got used for the purpose it was borrowed for and lives of solders and civilian were been wasted in thousand. An Army General (Kuti) who had the gut to refuse wasting more solders lives was court marshalled and jailed. The General refused to confront BH without ammunitions.

Girls were kidnapped and GEJ government refused to acknowledge until the wife of OBAMA and the whole shouted on top of the roof.

My brother, this list go on and on. I still reaffirm, when compared to GEJ, OBJ is a Saint.

You can abuse OBJ all you want, it does not change the FACTS we have on the ground.

The problem with most commentators on this platform is they do engage their brains and check out facts before posing their opinions on this platform.

To get to the FACTS, let us ask some begging questions (not limited) that will tell us who really failed Nigerians

1) How much was in our Foreign Reserve and Excess Crude Accounts when the OBJ and GEJ respectively took over power and at the end of their tenure?
2) How much Power were we generating when the OBJ and GEJ respectively took over power and at the end of their tenure?
3) What were Nigeria GDP when the OBJ and GEJ respectively took over power and at the end of their tenure?
4) What were our development Indices when the OBJ and GEJ respectively took over power and at the end of their tenure?

These are some of few questions we need to answer before we can compare the 2 Presidents.

I can tell you, while I am not a supporter of OBJ (because he is a thief - he had almost nothing when he came out of prison and he was a multi-billionaire by the time he was leaving the Presidency), base on obvious answers to the questions above, OBJ IS A SAINT COMPARED TO GEJ.

The bad of the whole case is that, I am not sure how much GEJ stole (also a thief - he was a poor lecturer and government worker and now a multi billionaire by the time he was leaving the Presidency), Nigeria and commonwealth of Nigerians were stolen blind with abundant recklessness during the tenure of GEJ. Right from his wife (Madam PEJ) to any Tom, Jack and Harry with PDP connection or militant connection to Ministers, Heads and Directors of Government offices and Religious Leaders and Traditional Leaders. I mean it was looting galore that cannot be compared to anything we have ever seen in the history of this country.

Stealing under Abacha and IBB pales when compared to stealing under GEJ. It was so reckless that money from the sales of Nigeria crude oil was been paid into individual accounts from where the amount that will go to the Federation account is based on the whims and caprice of these individuals.

I do agree that OBJ could found culpable for the CLUELESSNESS of GEJ because he helped installed GEJ as the President of Nigeria in the name of PDP.

I hope this will shed some lights on who failed Nigeria most of the two THEIVES.

The same type of senseless response. If you read my text very and think about, the key word is THINK, I did not say Buhari is getting well. That was not the trust of my comment.

The trust of my comment is should PMB travel to Nigeria without his Doctors approval because he is getting well!

Once again, use your brain, THINK before you talk or write.

Nigeria is not moving forward because the youth, (the engine of the nation), are not or maybe cannot THINK

APC are bunch of joker's

They claim PMB is getting better, yet he is still in London waiting doctors approval to come back.
I don't understand what has happen to the brain of Nigerians to the extend it does stop performing the function of reasoning.

Do you expect PMB because his getting better to just travel and return to Nigeria in the name of politics before his Doctors approval? Aba! use your brain now before you comment.

Stop commenting for commenting sake. Even if you are jobless or a paid agent of PDP or member of family of Nigerian Looters, use you brain. Think before you talk or write.

NCAN correspondent reporting live from Delta...Everybody knows ADEBOWALE is not biafran name. na dem, those AFONJAs. . .they have Ph.D in Crime
Sure the guy is an Afonja, but he must have learnt the art of wife killing from the IPOBs.

Go to the Internet and search for the tribe with the highest statistics of wife killing in the USA. Guess which tribe - the IPOBs. Same can be said of Evans and his group of Kidnappers are from.

While the Afonjas might have studied the IPOBs to get our Ph.D in Crime, you IPOBs are born with Crime in your blood and genes.

My brother ..
One of my friend was killed in nkpor onitsha.
And the painful part of it is that'this same obiano denied it, and as such he gave a false report to the army panel.
Where as the amnesty international has condemn vehemently the so called panel report.

APGA instead of realising there mistake and ask for forgiveness from the deceased families.
They were just hitting up the polity.

Ok today they wrote a threatening letter to nnamdi kanu to stay clear from Anambra election, as if they will be able to quench uprising from IPOB if they try nonsense with our leader.
As for me and my family, we have already concluded that none of us is going out to vote .

And if they felt that they will use force to threatened us ,then they should be ready for 70 million IPOBs.
From house to house, burn fire go they showcase.
As an Afonja man, I salute your stupidity. Your logic for not voting is unbelievable.

If you do not vote, will it stop INEC from declaring a winner?

If you start fighting each other afterwards, is that a Nigerian problem? You will just kill and destroy yourselves while Nigeria and Nigerians will look the other way. Who cares if you Igbos are fighting and killing yourselves.

Problem with you Igbos is you think you are so special and important that Nigeria will fail without you. Breaking news IPOB, Nigeria will survive and do well without you.

..Why wont you guys just shut up and stop being clownish and foolish??...how can you as a yorubaman and your northern masters order anyone to leave when we are still stuck with you in the name of one useless Nigeria??..cant you use your brains for once?..I mean its simple common-sense...Besides who told you that even yoruba muslims will escape when northerners start their madness??

...You guys from SW are a special breed of weird in every sense of it.
I was expecting abusive comments like yours when I posted my response. I will only repeat what the Arewa guy said, if you want out of Nigeria, you are free to go. Pack your things from Nigeria, relocate to Igboland and enjoy your Biafra under your "Supreme Leader".

It is immaterial to the subject of your breaking away from Nigeria to form Biafra how we Yorubas in the SW fair in what will remain of Nigeria. It is non of your business. We do not need your advise and we do not need your sympathy.

Once again, if you want out of Nigeria, just pack you things and leave Nigeria. After all your abuses of our hospitality and insults on our collective intelligence, we are no more begging you to be part of Nigeria. Listen carefully, we are saying pack your things and relocate to your Igboland.

I ask the question again, are afraid to relocate to your Igboland? Or maybe you think you going to run Biafra from Lagos or Kano or from Warri or PortHarcourt for that matter. The options are very clear now - it is either you are for Nigeria or you leave Nigeria. No stories, no more begging.

Some people (including reasonable Igbos) have tried to talk senses into you Igbos head over a period of time without getting anywhere, rather it was blowing (swelling) your head, making you people feel unnecessarily important. You labelled the reasonable Igbos "traitors", you call the Yorubas "cowards" and "mumus", and you call the Hausas "parasites". You were even calling the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria "Bubu" which translates to stupid. Enough of the rubbish. Enough of your blackmailing every reasonable Nigerian (inclusive of voice of reasoning amongst you Igbos) with the threat of Biafra breakaway. Enough, you can breakaway and form Biafra if you want. Go if you want to go. Leave Nigeria.

slivertongue:
the agitation has been on for years until GMB made Kanu popular yet expecting the agitation to die. It is not in the place of characters like him to give a quit notice. Only a referendum will do that. There cant be Nigerian Igbos and Biafran Igbos so that needs to be settled.
What makes you believe that Igbos cant form a functional state? leave Igbos to worry about the future.
Am against the activities of ethnic barons so arresting him will only make him a cult figure which the North may find difficult to deal with. thank God the group realized their folly thus their demand for referendum which is tandem with global practice. Dont worry it will be a peaceful separation.
I have personally asked Igbos to head homeward so fear not, some asked for it and they will surely get it now or in the nearest future
I did not say Igbo cannot form a functional state. I only said the Arewa guy was telling you the Igbos the truth by telling you to relocate to your Igboland. As you rightly said, there is no room for Biafra Igbos and Nigerian Igbos. For you Igbos to have Biafra, you have to leave Nigeria. That was the guys message. Simple.

Come to think of it, both Nigeria and Biafra will be better off if you relocate to your Igboland. You cannot run Biafra from Lagos, Kano, Jos Warri or PortHarcourt for that matter.

Go back to your Igboland and enjoy your Biafra. Why do you need a referendum to do that? I ask again, are you developing cold feet?
