CultureGerman Court Rules That Men Can Urinate While Standing by babake2020(op): 10:47pm On Jan 22, 2015
Who would have ever believed that someone would need court orders to allow him pee! shocked see details below!!!!!

A court in Germany has ruled in favour of a man's right to urinate while standing up after his landlord demanded money for damage to the bathroom floor.

The landlord, who was seeking €1,900 (£1400; $2,200), claimed the marble floor had been damaged by urine.

But the Duesseldorf judge ruled that the man's method was within cultural norms, saying "urinating standing up is still common practice".

There is some debate in Germany about whether men should sit or stand to pee.

Some toilets have red traffic-style signs forbidding the standing position - but those who choose to sit are often referred to as a "Sitzpinkler", implying it is not masculine behaviour.

Judge Stefan Hank agreed with an expert's report that uric acid had caused some damage to the bathroom's floor.

But concluding, he said men who insist on standing "must expect occasional rows with housemates, especially women" but cannot be held to account for collateral damage.

"Despite growing domestication of men in this matter, urinating while standing up is still common practice," he added.

Happy new year Nairalanders.

Let me get straight to the point. I've got a child who's a little over 14 months. The child has been attending creche since four months because and I my wife work. My child acts older than his peers and most parents have suggested I register with some form of preschool as early as 18 months. My wife seems to be positively disposed to an early start but I'm a bit cautious because I think it's too early and may be stressful for the child besides the creche provides a fun learning environment albeit informal.

I need advise from experienced parents
BusinessRe: Banks Still Charge On Interbank ATM Transactions by babake2020: 9:39pm On Nov 23, 2012
if the private sector can't get it right then what hope is there for Nigeria?.... There must have been considerable momentum before the announcement was made. I don't expect intellects at such high positions to act without thinking it through. The funny experience i had was that i used my ATM card on a 3rd party's equipment and didn't get the usual N100 warning; only for me to later get alert of N100 withdrawal after my transaction.......

Maybe the announcement was to DEACTIVATE the messages on ATM... grin We may never know grin grin

Which way Naija... God help all of us

@Boson, maybe what u did was to re-type the email address, The best option is to copy and paste the email address, that way, ure sure u didnt miss out anything

@aguyemd, well , lets patiently wait to fill the blank spaces at edjeba, i cant wait to put a face to d pseudonym "aguyemd", Do you look as tough as your posts suggesthuh? shocked, well, till edjegba sha,
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by babake2020: 10:14pm On Jun 16, 2009
aguyemd:
--------- In my small employment experience, this (TERMS AND CONDITONS) is one document employers jealously request and guard. If you read the offer letter as much as I am sure everybody else did, I am confident that you'd have a change of opinion as it was expressly stated that that document, among others, should reach SHELL on or before the 22nd.
I disagree with you on this because every company has its policy,

aguyemd:
While I do not doubt AGNES OKE's position, curious though, I believe she did that inadvertently, or she mistook your submission for the required documents for the 18th (or rather 17th).
aguymed  I dont think this was the case because the mails for 18th or 17th, whichever is correct, are to be sent by email as instructed by bernard in d email sent to u,  Nkenke was at her office to submit a hard copy, so lets rule this out,   By the way,  i hope uve submitted urs by email,  2moro is 17th.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by babake2020: 9:52pm On Jun 16, 2009
@nkenke, i did exactly the same thing u did, i actually submitted my letter to Abigail in the presence of Agnes Oke, like u said, shell requires only two documents from you. Your staff registration form and the acceptance form

I had no witness signature on any of my forms, as a matter of fact , i went with all my documents and they returned all to me except the two i mentioned earlier. In otherwords, the benefit stuff with ur signature on it belongs to you.

@aguyemd, I understand ur anxiety, this is probably because u intend to send urs by courier, well, if u still have doubts, you can attach photocopies like u suggested. You could also call agnes OKE, Pls note tha their office is the open floor kind of office, therefore agnes has direct access to her boss, so whatever she tells u is as good as coming from her boss, For instance after abigail, examined my forms and certifying them accurate, i still complained that i had no bank account on my form, she sed it didnt matter much,,, but to be certain, she quickly walked over to her boss, He(the boss, sorry i dont know his name) said i could provide the details of the account when i resume since i didnt come wt details of my account. Note because not every bank is valid, so u need to know d shell nominated banks, UBA is one of them, i dont know about d others,

I hope i helped clear the air on some issues, But if u need info from the horses mouth, call abigail or agnes, they're all in d same office, they could transfer u to someone superior if they dont av answers to ur questions

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THAT PASSED THE INTERVIEW, MY HEART GOES OUT TO THOSE THAT WERE ASKED TO WAIT FOR 12MONTHS, Please don't lose ur self confidence, ! and dont give up, if shell doesn't call u then its because there's a better job for you, Again, im speaking from experience - having had some interview accidents myself, Just keep your faith in God, and don't lose your self confidence, I SAID IT AGAIN because ITS VERY VERY IMPORTANT
