Foreign AffairsRe: How Is Nelson Mandela An Africa Hero? by babasin(op): 6:06pm On Jul 21, 2007
Guys,
The number one patriot of Africa. If he wanted, he could have been president for life. he promised to and only served one term of office.
Apart from his prison exploits, he did what Africans have struggled to do in the post colonial era- Give up power.
so if a leader voluntary give up power, this qualify for African Hero?

What am driving at is for us to have a criteria for defining 'africa hero' otherwise we have outsider(non-africans) deciding for africa who is 'african hero'
PoliticsRe: Obj Stole $34.5billion? by babasin(op): 12:16pm On Jul 21, 2007
Even if they take you to the World Bank Headquarters and give you a key to open a vault containing $43.3 billion dollars, it doesn't prove anything. So you may as well take their word for it
umm, very true

But how sad it is for hapless nigerians

cool cheesy cool
Foreign AffairsRe: How Is Nelson Mandela An Africa Hero? by babasin(op): 12:11pm On Jul 21, 2007
@denex,
By going to jail for about the average lifespan of an African.
umm, so africa hero does not have to be someone that improve the life of africans?'

I know this is interesting but can anyone tell clearly how/why Mandela is refered to as 'African Hero'

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/1454208.stm

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/6905088.stm

what criteria to be fullfiled before you become african hero?

who determine what the criteria should be?
PoliticsRe: Obj Stole $34.5billion? by babasin(op): 9:58am On Jul 21, 2007
Guys,

From all above; the money may not even exist?

as nobody can physically confirm it or where its located or who is holding the vault key!

PoliticsRe: Obj Stole $34.5billion? by babasin(op): 9:45am On Jul 21, 2007
And they don't get their information from the CBN, they contact the organizations where these reserves are held.
and which orgnisation is this keeping the $45billion or $8.8billion?

who have seen this money?

where is the hard evidence of this money? Picture, video etc?

in which country is it kept?

Untill then; OBJ should be asked; where is $34.5billion

Nigerians am afraid dont ask the right questions and get valid answers to those questions.

PropertiesRe: Cost Of Cement Droping Soon? by babasin(m): 9:38am On Jul 21, 2007
@Yink99,

problem is import is not allowed in naija

I would have shipped and resell 25kg at N500.

They ban cement so that like of Dangote, WAPCO can milk Nigerians dry!

They ban shipping so they can cover-up the unproductive/inefficient/bad quality nature of naija manufacturing: no eletricity, no infrastructure etc.

It is a rip off. It is criminal.
PoliticsRe: Obj Stole $34.5billion? by babasin(op): 9:26am On Jul 21, 2007
@DisGuy,
President Olusegun Obasanjo as well as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar? Certainly, the last two should be investigated afresh in the light of the recent declaration by Dr Shamsidden Usman before the National Assembly that the so-called foreign reserve of $43. 3 billion is a piece of propaganda because what is actually available to the country is $8.8 billion
is Abati's: How far can the EFCC Go?

http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/editorial_opinion/article02
so where is the balance $34.5billion?
PoliticsRe: When Is Atiku Going To Be Arrested? by babasin(m): 9:23am On Jul 21, 2007
you think Yaradu/Ribadu is in control of EFCC??

grin cheesy grin

the first person to be arrested should be:

a man who in 1999 has N20,000 and in 2007 now worh N180billion during which time he was a government employee!
PoliticsRe: Dollar Salaries: Court Orders Okonjo-iweala, Adeniji To Refund N206m by babasin(m): 9:20am On Jul 21, 2007
If a government anywhere in the World offers me an x amt of money for a y amt of job, it does not make sense to go back and start quoting some constitution that should have been quoted when the deal was been struck in the first place.
The court judement was right and correct. OBJ screwed-up!

grin cheesy grin

All ministers of Nigeria must earn same amount thats what the consitution says!

what he should have done, is hire these people as consultants and can pay them any amount.

They will be consultant with 'silent power' above the minister in the ministry they plan to reform and will report to direct to President.

In this way there would have been no abuse of office or going against Nigeria constitution.

Better still they can add to constitution; that ministers can earn different amounts but must give what critearia will determine such amount
PoliticsRe: Obj Stole $34.5billion? by babasin(op): 10:54am On Jul 20, 2007
@Big Sipf,

This is the biggest breaking news but Nigerians are dead.

$34.5billion(N4trillion) could not be accounted for! This is 10 times what Abacha stole!

grin cheesy grin cool

where is this money? where is EFCC? The arrests of ex-gov is a decoy.
PoliticsObj Stole $34.5billion? by babasin(op): 10:16am On Jul 20, 2007

if what Shamsideen saying is true; why is the balance $34.5billion?

why is Iweala also saying we had $43billion?

why is Soludo saying we have $43billion?

How much is really in foreign reserve?

in your link; where was it stated that $6billion in Switzerlandhuh

Under his self-serving rule, Mobutu accumulated personal wealth of $6 billion, prompting the international community to coin a new term -- kleptocracy, or "government by thieves." He was so paranoid about the possibility of invasion by Zaire's neighbors that he built few

Evil thrives when people remain silent!

This barbaric act remain condemned by any right-thinking people!

Over centuries; killing as deterrent for crime has shown to be a failure!

Thats why crime in countries with no dealth penalty is less than those with dealth penalty.

They seek to correct the situation/problem that leads to crime while the other sweeps under the carpet hoping it will go away.

Since this year alone; this evil Saudi has beheaded 99 people.

And for those calling it holy-land for haji: they're simply brainwashed: There is blood on the praying ground every friday!

what an evil, i shall have none of it; Its stands condemn it.

Shame on you Babasin for even contemplating condemning the Saudi authorities. The guy deserved the ultimate punishment, just like the one hanged in Singapore.
the world has moved away from these barbaric thinking!!!

This evil stands condemned by any right-thinking people!

Evil continues when people remain silient!

PoliticsRe: Miracle Bank Crashes, Depositors' Money Trapped, Operators Vanish by babasin(m): 11:14am On Jul 19, 2007
Thats not a fair statement to make. In all fairness, Soludo severally warned Nigerians about depositing in these wonder banks but people failed to listen.
Thats nothing. They have have task-force to physically close down such offices!

It is like saying dont buy faking medicine but you dont know what is fake + original

Govnt own it as duty to close such things down: people not only loose money, it erodes confidence in affected sector
