crixcrox: Hello everyone good day please I have a few questions to ask. I have been attending the Catholic church for the past 7yrs (since 2009). I joined in secondary school and immediately joined baptism class but all of a sudden our catechist stopped coming to teach us (it was a boarding) so I couldn't baptize. Fast forward to 2012 200 lvl I started classes again but school stress became overwhelming I had to stop. My wedding is next year and I haven't been able to settle in one place long enough to attend classes what can I do as I really want my wedding to hold in a Catholic church. Is it possible for me to start classes this month and join those baptizing this new year. P.s My fiancee is not a Catholic Yes. First step, visit the catechist/parish office in your closest parish and have this discussion with him. you can even be baptised this xmas but they may decide to do it on your wedding day if time is short. |

Literature › Re: Why I Quit Young Adult Novels by babestell(f): 2:41pm On Aug 11, 2017 |
usermane: May be it its because they are truly over hyped and overrated or may be because I have just out grown them like an old pair of shoes that used to be my teenage favorite, I'll be rounding up the YA series I already begun to read. After that, I throw in the towel and won't look back at this genre of novels again.
Here are 4 reasons why I quit YA novels
1. The term Young Adult. A young adult according to most academic sources range from 20-29 years. Generally an adult cannot be less than 18 years. With target audience of late adolescence, describing books with under 18 or 16 years old protagonists as "Young Adult" is grossly misleading, literally and practically wrong but unfortunately it has become the norm, especially with the genre selling like hotcakes.
2. Clone stories Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Divergent. The three most popular YA series are basically the same stories. In a dystopian future of oppression and tyranny, a 16 years old, mostly female, rise against the grain and inspire her people to rebellion and freedom. It is the same story told over and over again. I have tried to read Throne of Glass too, it is still the same story, though with a little change in taste.
3. Unrelatable Protagonists As these stories are told from the viewpoint of sixteen years old girls, and worse still from in first person narration, an adult male like me can hardly relate. As earlier state about the term Young Adult, it is misleading. Many think they are getting a book targeted to readers in early twenties, only to be sunk into a book geared towards adolescents.
4. Mediocre Writing As the primary audience of these books are teens, the writing is largely watered down and simplified to meet the mental capacities of this age group. If you have been reading YA for a long, you likely can't appreciate beautiful prose or creative writing, until you get into literary and adult fiction. Truer words i have never seen At a point i got tired of the so call young adult books. i read mine online sha. Cant be buying a book i wont read twice |

This drink is also aphrodisiac so if you have no means of easing the tension pls be careful how you drink it. It's very popular up north (at least where I served in Kano State). And sometimes people add ginger for taste. |

Today I went to church and prayed that I would not turn out to be someone who maltreated other people children. This thread really moved me,
I know the common denominator here is the wife but the truth is that a lot of men know what is going on in the house and they just choose to keep quiet. Sometimes keeping quiet is easier than standing up for what is right. Most of those posting on nl are the lucky ones, a lot of destinies have been destroyed and people have turned out useless simply because of wickedness from relatives and guardians. God help us all. |

silverr: that your hubby is a pastor doesn't mean he will be perfect. Pls firmly let him know that you can reduce the way u visit family but you will not stop visiting family. These aren't friends but family for crying out loud. Without them, will you be the wife he married.
Reminds me of a clown who said he loves me and wants to marry me but can't stand how I pump money to my immediate family. I must stop it for him to get serious.
orisirisi Lol my dear. ..I met one like that too. .....If you see the way I use run....better to be single than enter a relationship full of deceit |

When I hear stories like this I feel bad, sure if someone asked your aunt she would not agree she was treating you badly. It's like some people loose all human compassion once they have authority over another person. |

So I am on my second 6 month stretch and I must say I am really seeing improvement in hair. It's grown and it's fuller.
I try to wash every other week and I always deep condition with a protein and mositurizing conditioner, J just mix the two. I use coconut oil and water every day. Moisten my hair with water then use coconut oil to lock it in. I use wigs a lot or I do crochet braids.
My work schedule is very exhausting so I can't afford to do anything else, but apparently what am doing is working well |
