hello everyone
currently in Houston.
I flew Air France at 35 weeks 4 days. flight was uneventful. economy from Lagos to Paris, upgraded to premium from Paris to Houston. the premium is a bit more comfortable than economy but Air France isn't know for its comfort sha. I wasn't asked for fit to fly in Lagos or paris
POE experience was a breeze, we landed Thursday 8th Nov the line at the border wasn't long but there weren't plenty officers on duty. I stayed on the line for 1 hr plus before it got to my turn. the guy asked me if I had a doctor and my payment plan. I showed him the mail correspondence and the receipt of deposit. asked if we had food, we said yes he mentioned egusi and crayfish and we said yes. na so he stamp us in.
there is this blueish form they give on the plane where you declare currency and foodstuff. apparently George Bush airport doesn't use it again.
so waiting for my first dr appointment and the birth of my LO |

Boomie30: it seems all the seats for airfrance normal economy which i experienced didn't have enough space to stretch legs. A pregnant person may opt for those seats in front where she can stretch legs otherwise aisle (not window) may be better for any other part of the plane for frequent visit to the rest room so it depends on the person's preference. Thank you. |

Lordcrixus: Go to www.seatguru.com , type in your flight number and then the layout of the aircraft will come up. There are reviews and comment on every seats, just click on the seat to see them. This will help you make an informed decision. I did that but i didn't see any reviews by pregnant passengers. i just want to get a feel from women who have used them on this forum |

Toopee: I need someone’s opinion on this issue please In your case you need to prove 2 things 1. that you have ties bringing you back to Nigeria. this is actually the koko. wives whose husbands can pay have been denied because they dont have ties. it is possible for a man to tell his wife to stay in USA while he comes and goes. they have seen it many times 2. that he will make the funds available. but you need all his documents to show and maybe get him to transfer the cash to you. eg have you paid for dr in your name, |

whyworryPH: Personally, I decided not to deal with private hospitals in PH. I'm using UPTH and have no complains so far. I don't make use of NHIS but I always see it's posters at various points in the hospital so I want to believe they are offering such. In fact, if private hospitals accepts NHIS, I'm very sure UPTH will as well.
You could also try BMH or Military hospital. These 3 hospitals are govt hospitals. My sister had 3 of her kids at military hospital with no issues. I used them last year too but my loss have kept me from returning. But their environment is clean and services commendable. I agree with you. UPTH is the best option unless you can vouch for the private hospital with your chest and most of those ones are expensive |

I have an issue with hospitals that behave like this. As a preggy you are supposed to take malaria drugs monthly on a regular basis. My family lives in Artillery but all the women in my house used the teaching hospital for their ante natal. its a distance but they had to do do it that way to avoid stories that touch. you can also register at obio cottage hospital in rumuobiakani but i hear the have a huge crowd there. this is because the hospital is sponsored by Shell. Talk to your hubby cos a hospital that will not tell you the drugs they are giving you can also shedule you for CS when you don't need it Pearl05: MAMAS HELP A SISTER PLEASE
I'm new in PH because Dh based there while my work station is in Ebonyi state. I mentioned that I went for scan on Tuesday at one private hospital, they said I should register for antenatal which I did( Me&Dh had agreed that I will use the hospital). After running some tests, Dr said there is malaria ++(I disagreed because I had test the previous week and no atom of malaria)
Dr prescribed some drugs for me. Their small kiosk like medicine shop staff said my bill was #5k. So I insisted on seeing the prescription but was denied. I told the girl that I had folic acid, fasolate, B. Compex and multivitamin tabs at home so I don't need those if they are among the prescription. After long dragging and talking with the Dr, they removed those and cut the bill to 3500.
Dh that went with me was giving me bad eye to just pay the complete money and take the drugs but I refused. So after everything, I paid the #3500 and they gave me TT injection on my arm , pcm tabs and another white tab. No name on the drugs envelop no means of identifying it.
The next day being yesterday I came back to my base in Ebonyi state, the drugs still intact because I don't want to take it.
Is that how private hospitals behave? Don't I have the right to know the drug my doctor prescribed? Must everything be about making money?
Please sabi mama residing in PH, recommend good mama friendly hospital that is listed on NHIS preferably govt hospital.
We are living at Woji
Thank you

My wife had a baby in June, i want to renew my visa as the one year Dropbox window for me will elapse in November. Her visa will expire in January.
Can we both renew together in November though her visa is still valid?
Do we need to include all the payment receipts, itemized bills in the application?
If called for interview will it be the two of us appearing..
House please advise is needed If your wife gave birth in USA, i advise you do not do drop box. book an interview date. A lot of people who did dropbox and have birth history in the USA are being called for interview. Just save yourself the stress of having to look for date and all that. |

Not many questions were asked but all my documents were checked including itemized bills. The rate of refusal was very intimidating..i was there for over an hour and only about 2 or 3 visas were approved! Blue papers were flying all over.
My advice to returning moms please stay away from hospitals that dont itemize services and also low priced ones.
All the best to everyone. BTW who has travelled at 38 weeks with Delta recently? Na my case be that oo. God dey! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am currently trying to get a slot for follow up interview before mid-October. i hope something comes up before then |

Ubenedictus: From a discourse Against the Pagans by Saint Athanasius, bishop The word of the Father gives order, direction and unity to creation By his own wisdom and Word, who is our Lord and Saviour Christ, the all-holy Father (whose excellence far exceeds that of any creature), like a skilful steersman guides to safety all creation, regulating and keeping it in being, as he judges right. It is right that creation should exist as he has made it and as we see it happening, because this is his will, which no one would deny. For if the movement of the universe were irrational, and the world rolled on in random fashion, one would be justified in disbelieving what we say. But if the world is founded on reason, wisdom and science, and is filled with orderly beauty, then it must owe its origin and order to none other than the Word of God. He is God, the living and creative God of the universe, the word of the good God, who is God in his own right. The Word is different from all created things: he is the unique Word belonging only to the good Father. This is the Word that created this whole world and enlightens it by his loving wisdom. He who is the good Word of the good Father produced the order in all creation, joining opposites together, and forming from them one harmonious sound. He is God, one and only-begotten, who proceeds in goodness from the Father as from the fountain of goodness, and gives order, direction and unity to creation. By his eternal Word the Father created all things and implanted a nature in his creatures. He did not want to see them tossed about at the mercy of their own natures, and so be reduced to nothingness. But in his goodness he governs and sustains the whole of nature by his Word (who is himself also God), so that under the guidance, providence and ordering of that Word, the whole of nature might remain stable and coherent in his light. Nature was to share in the Father’s Word, whose reality is true, and be helped by him to exist, for without him it would cease to be. For unless the Word, who is the very “image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation,” kept it in existence it could not exist. For whatever exists, whether visible or invisible, remains in existence through him and in him, and he is also the head of the Church, as we are taught by the ministers of truth in their sacred writings. The almighty and most holy Word of the Father pervades the whole of reality, everywhere unfolding his power and shining on all things visible and invisible. He sustains it all and binds it all together in himself. He leaves nothing devoid of his power but gives life and keeps it in being throughout all of creation and in each individual creature. I am sure there is a simpler way to write this. I think i have joined the low attention span generation |

Ubenedictus: no vex too much, the issue of dressing to Church is touch and go in many parishes both in Africa, and even outside our continent. Many will argue vigorously and with good reasons that a formal outfit is best for Church as it reflects the dignity of worship...others don't mind either way.... It is not usually a question of accepting change... I guess that guy has sisters who wear trousers... it is usually phrased as a question of what is most appropriate.
There is also a problem when people inadvertently set themselves up as a 1man advice giving committee, such persons end up passing judgement on issue they are not fully aware of...rash judgement is what sets in.
my parish in the east have a formal dressing outlook most times but from time to time like during stations of the Cross and confessions where most people jump out of work just to make it to Church you'll find a good number on their trousers and body hugging shirt, nobody bats an eye because you'll have to understand where their coming from.
some times it isn't prudent to throw advice... maybe I'll keep this in mind. My parish mater Misericordia doesn't have issues with ladies wearing trousers. Especially on normal days. however some people have constituted themselves "moral police". and go around "advising" women most especially on their dressing. I am waiting for the day one will jam me AFTER i receive communion, they usually come before mass or after confession, so I can't give them the tongue lashing they deserve. |

FloraEC: Good evening, please I've a question. Going by what is happening in Nigeria now(kidnapping, child molestation e.t.c), do parents still allow their children to go for Saturday's morning mass, block Rosary crusade and visitation, block Rosary, Sunday benediction, catcheism classes, Christmas carols e.t.c even join church leagues like Vincent D' Paul, Infant Jesus, Marian movement e.t.c? If they still do, by what time do they start and dismiss, how do they do it? I've an altar in my house and I always teach them how to say the Rosary but the block Rosary in my area is in the church street and is kinda far from my house and I'm scared of letting them out. i stay in PHC and the threat of this happening is high. My plan for now is to attend with my kids. let all of us do the catechism and block rosary together |

Good morning all, happy feast of immaculate conception
You guys need to clap for me. I went for confession yesterday from work and some dude on the queue called me over and started advising me on how its wrong for me to wear trousers for confession. that I am a woman. that he is only trying to help me. I was tempted to abuse him thoroughly, infact i wanted to take his head and hit the chair. I was already reaching towards him with anger in my heart and soul, opening my mouth to curse his generations past and present when the Holy Spirit broke through and calmed me down.
It has to have been the Holy Spirit because at that moment i was seeing red and i just wanted blood. But i remembered a conversation on how a lot of people have not accepted change going on around them in the world and then i calmed down.
God saved me from myself
Have a nice day |

Syncan: Today's GOSPEL (Luke I 0:2 1-24)
At that hour: Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, ‘I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
The Gospel of the Lord...
The Jews expected a political Messiah, Jesus was not one. Jesus came and left them still paying tax to ceaser! Yet Jesus says it was a great thing to have seen him and witnessed his works. Their focus on their desire, made them blind to the value of what they have before them. Let's pray for the grace to focus on and hold on to what is truly of value, and not be distracted by less important desires.
