i have family in US so i spend 3 months on average when I go. I have been in the flight with someone who was carrying a 3 week old. Toritse321: Thank you babestell,
How many weeks was your 1st baby when you returned to Nigeria for the remaining Vaccinations. I'm thinking of doing same at 6/7 weeks. Just wondering what the effect would be |

I used sunrise pediatrics and the day we took all that plenty vaccine, my total cost (Dr visit + vaccine) was around $250. (TdaP, IPV (Polio), Rotavirus, HiB and Pneumococcal) it also depends on your Dr. The cost for daily visit is different from cost of vaccines. my first child only took the one at birth and then we started vaccinations when we returned to Naija at 3 months. Toritse321: Good day all.
Please for those of you who have had your babies in the US, did you vaccinate your newborns? If yes, what vaccinations did you take and what were the costs?
Thank you |

thank you temyb: Hi everyone Just a follow up on drop box. It's not so bad as some people think it is. Infact if your appoint is 8am and u get there 7:30,u would have submitted by 7:40am and woild be on your way out. And it's very very organised, thank God the u.s embassy did that on their own cos if it was DHL or it was outsourced,it would be very very crowdy Just 4 things needed, your passport containing your old visa, not less than 2yrs expired or 3 months to expiry, your confirmation page that has your appointment date and time, your DS 160,your bank receipt of payment and finally 1 recent passport photograph (U.S visa standard). Heard that it's not 2month per say, that some are already getting their passport with visa back. You dont need any document to support. The crowd for drop box is way more than normal interview o. As at 7:30am yesterday there was no queue for normal interview,it was so free that only 6 people came and walk inside in 3mins and u can actually submit for 1 person. Goodluck to all the drop box renewal |

Hello House, time to share my story
I got my visa early last year before the who0le issue with dates started. I wasn’t pregnant then but we thank God for his gifts. I used Memorial Hermann and Dr Z. My cost breakdown is below
Dr Z (include ultrasound): $2550 Memorial Hermann sugarland; $3969 Anesthesia: $2000 Sunrise Pediatrics: $500 Hospital Labs: $300
The hospital labs is not a round figure as above, I rounded it up0. When we got home we received an additional bill from the hospital. Apparently the hosp0ital only allows their own p0ediatrics team attend to baby after birth. Instead of allowing the external child pediatrician attend. They charge the p0arents for the service and boy its not cheap. My bill when sent was Child Initial Birth: $750 Circumcision: $821 Baby discharge examination: $535
So pls if you are using this hospital, put all these in plan. Covid has dealt with the system so even all those freebies we used to get from hospitals are no longer available. They claim this was in response to Covid . I applied for baby passport last week of November. Even paid for express. Unfortunately, the passport is not out. We travelled with ETC, which my husband helped process.
I did my covid test at CVS and that’s what I used to travel.
Thanks to everyone who shared their journey.
PS Dr Z is Nigerian...I know there was time people were arguing over it here. |

My POE experience was smooth
I landed at Atlanta airport, the man asked ne how long i was staying. I said 3 months. He said welcome to Amurika.
that said there was a very long queue and only 2 officers on duty so I guess thats why he didnt stress me much |

US embassy is not anyhow where they do things at the gate. if your appointment has been cancelled they will send an email to you. You can pay somebody uber fare to go there on a tuesday and confirm if interviews are holding or not. This sounds more like them say, them say Abiodunnn: pleeeeeaaaaaaassssse help people |

Their leaving the market helped Delta a lot. their Houston-Lagos route was always booked. This one they are starting with Dulles sha. Is their market survey telling them more Nigerians travel to the Northwest nowadays. Doesn't make sense to me. Debbieeeeeee: Very welcome o, United used to do Lagos to houston and they made life easier then, they moved due to dollar Wahala and are back at the peak of dollar wahala pro max , I wonder what’s going on but I’m glad they’re back at least we have options , no more monopoly |

Thats nice. pointednose: Yes the person used VOA for her infant around July this year.
I also used VOA for my infant 4 years ago. |

Did the person use it for an infant? pointednose: I used VOA 4 years ago and there was no issue. I.paid with cash at the airport. Heard years down the line, there were issues though. But I called the immigration officer who helped me then, and he said the issue has been addressed, and now you won't need to pay at the airport cos the officer would have made the payment for you while doing the processing.
I know someone who travelled with VOA few months back, so I think the issue has been sorted now |

ETC is a document used instead of a passport. especially for people who have lost their passports or are in an emergency. you pay for it at the point of issue. Technically since you are carrying a minor, baby should be able to just pass with it with little or no challenge from customs. ETC is $150 from the website which is almost the same price we paid for VOA. besides VOA has been discontinued for returning minors and Nigerians Lochinny: Please guys I also need some advice. 2 years ago when I came back to Nigeria after having my child, I used visa on arrival and was practically embarrassed at Nigeria when I went to pay for the visa on arrival. They kept claiming that visa on arrival must be paid with a foreign card, bearing the name of the person that needs the VOA
Now, concerning ETC, I don’t know which one to follow. We’re you stopped at the airport to pay again for ETC? Or did they just allow you pass with baby? Do you advice I go through ETC even after getting baby’s passport or what should I do? Just confused coz seems VOA is cheaper and could be paid in Nigeria coz the dollar rate isn’t smiling now because it’ll warrant dollars being sent to me from Nigeria . I need advice |

What was the process to obtain ETC. How long did it take? purpleribbon: Hi! I just want to correct two information here.
1. Your baby can travel with the Nigerian ETC on its own. This means your baby does not need any passport to travel out of the United States. Just ensure that you hold the ETC and birth certificate. This is how I travelled with my newborn
2. For expedited application (as at July/August) it took 4 weeks from application date till deliver of the passport (for MD)
Thank you. |

Have you gotten a solution to this? Lochinny: Thank you so much guys for the suggestions. Immediately I saw we couldn’t get a notary public to swear over the phone, I checked for an appointment, that was on Tuesday and luckily for us I saw 3 spaces remaining for August 26th today at Lagos and since there wasn’t any other day to choose in August, I had to take it and my husband canceled everything and flew to Lagos. He just got it notarized now and would be sending it to me. Thank you for all your support.
Pls does anyone know how I can go about the ETC so I can use it to enter Nigeria. The last time I used visa on arrival, these people embarrassed me |

If you have a friend that is a nurse, ask her if she can use that their machine to listen to baby heartbeat for you. it can be quite reassuring. I did it with my child. However its normal in 2nd trimester for symptoms to settle and for you to have periods of just feeling normal. Don't be worried unless you have cramps, pains, bleeding etc Splasshhh: Hello Mamas, I feel fine but really scared and worried. I am 16 weeks gone but since last week, I keep feeling not pregnant.
I don't feel sick or anything of any sort and all silence. I already read that after the first trimester ills a lot of women feel this way with the silence in their body.
There is just too much silence for me. Should I be worried? I am scared to go for OBS. |

Pls keep trying. it has to be the notary at the embassy in Nigeria. They do not accept any other. As for swearing over the phone, I don't know how that works. Ask the notary at the passport office . I think you can call and ask them, they may have something in place. I saw something online about it but I don't know anyone who has done it like that. Lochinny: Pls does anyone know how if any notary public can sign the forms my husband should fill? Must he go to the embassy? Can he use a US based notary public and swear the oath over the phone? I’ve been trying to book an appointment for Lagos or Abuja embassy notary services and it’s not going. Pls I need ur suggestions |

You can do this for the Dr but not the hospital. SO thats my plan. pointednose: Oh I see! So how are you planning to get the funds from bank to pay the medical expense? Cos I think banks will only accept that you fill some forms then they make transfer to the beneficiary account. |

you can't pay the hospital with transfer. they usually don't do that. cash or card pointednose: As regards this medical expense from CBN..that means one will need to pay the hospital before travelling right? |

I have been sleeping and regions bank is sending me mail to confirm purchases made via credit at walmart. Debbieeeeeee: I was going to connect it but fear of hackers and you know BOA is always their hacking target. As per anyone receiving money with my account I never agree to it, before I land one day and next thing as they’re scanning my passport they’re taking me for questioning, I don’t trust anyone on that one because you’ll be shocked how elderly naija men abroad still engage in . In my mind I used to think it was young guys alone, until I saw some men in their forties and fifties that I used to look at them highly engage in it too. |
