EPISODE TWENTY-FOUR MFYL PR2 “Something is definitely fishy. How was she able to send me a gift and how did Temmy got them? Temmy obviously got some answers to give”. I asked Temmy about the cloth and he presented me with two boxes. The first one contained a cute blue stripped well packed shirt. Of course she knows my taste. The second box contained an already sown beautiful white and blue patterned lace. She got my size so perfectly as the design at the cloth’s chest gave me goose bumps. A smaller box in the second box contained a pair of black Italian shoe which obviously matched the blue-white lace. She knows blue is my best colour and to be sincere, I missed her a lot at that moment. I wore the cloth, putting on the “Ofi” (Aso Oke) made “Fila” (Yoruba cap) as I look so amazing, checking myself in the mirror. This babe knows me in totality. I put a call through to her as I obviously could not hold my emotions any longer. Me: Hello Funmi Funmi: (Sounding rather tensed) Will, you don’t like it? Me: Which one of them? Funmi: You’ve not gotten the cloth? Me: I have and they look astonishingly great. Funmi: You like it? Me: No I don’t like it, I love it. Thanks so much baby. Funmi: You just call me baby. Me: Are you not? Funmi: (Sounding funny) I thought you are still angry with me. Me: I never was angry. I was just following your decision. Funmi: Hmm, after all these while Me: anyway, thanks so much dear, I really appreciate it. I look so great in them, especially the lace. Funmi: I’m happy you love it. Me: I don’t know I’ll say this but, I miss you. Funmi: You did? Me: Yeah, and I’m sorry I didn’t invite you to the party Funmi: It’s not your fault, it’s the distance. Me: Yeah, but if I wanted you to come, I’ll have arranged for it. Don’t worry I’ll make it up to you. Funmi: I love how that sounds. Will you come to Lagos? Me: Maybe I’ll come or maybe I’ll bring you over to this place. Funmi: I’ll love it baby. So are we cool now? Me: Cool how? Funmi: You know what I meant. Are we back together? Me: I have not said that. Funmi: Common now (with an appealing voice) Me: Okay, we are cool. Funmi: (Sighs) At last. All these while Will, it’s not good o. Me: We’ll talk about us later right? Funmi: Won’t you say sorry? Me: Oh, I’m sorry baby Funmi: Do you mean it? Me: Yeah, I mean it. I’m sorry. Funmi: Thanks baby, I love you so much. Me: Hmm, you know my answer Funmi: No I don’t. I’ve not heard it for over six months Me: Really? Are you that hungry to hear it? Funmi: I’ve been longing for it all this while Me: (Laughing) Funmi: Why are you laughing now (with appealing voice) Me: I love you Funmilola. “Yeah I just said that. I did love her but was not sure of whom she was anymore. Was it that I am sure now? No, I can’t bear to see her hurt anymore. I almost left the cloth on as it look so sweet on me. Rachael: Oh my God! (They dash into the room). Will, you look so great. Uche: You are getting me confused again (we all laughed). Will, you must buy mine. Temmy: You will have to tell that to the buyer anyway. Will, off this cloth and let’s check on what’s up in the hall Rachael: Aunty Joy is waiting for you in the sitting room. Aunty Joy was looking rather sad as I met her in the sitting room glued to her phone. Me: Aunty Joy what’s wrong? Joy: Happy birthday my baby (She stood up and gave me a passionate hug) Me: Thanks ma. We can talk right? Joy: Can it pass? Me: No, I need your joyous self, especially today. Don’t forget all these things are your hand work. I took her out of the sitting room as we both sit in her car Me: Tell me what’s wrong? Joy: It’s your Uncle, he’s been acting strange since yesterday and he won’t talk to me. Me: Since yesterday? Joy: Yeah, he refused to call or pick my calls. Me: Is this the first time he’ll act like that? Joy: No, whenever he’s sad and moody, it has become norm for him. But he has revealed his problems to me and mine to him. We were both happy, so I don’t understand where this one is coming from. Me: (I sensed he was faking this behavior judging by all he bought for her this morning and how happy he was buying them) Maybe he’s going through stuffs. Joy: He should be telling me when he’s going through any bad situations, not just the good ones. He’s giving me emotional trauma with his attitude. Me: You’ll have to be happy still. Don’t let his actions get to you. Your positive reaction might bring him out of his moody state. I need both of you to be happy today or I won’t appear at that party. Joy: common I am Happy. You don’t have to do that dear, it’ll hurt him. Me: It’s hurting me seeing you like this. Joy: I’m sorry dear. I promise you my countenance will change (She forced a smile) Me: Promise? Joy: Yes I promise. Me: Better, or you won’t see me at the party. Joy: Don’t say that again, I’m happy already (we both laughed) Her countenance did change after our short conversation and this made me love her more. She’s a selfless personality who put others happiness ahead of hers. I’m very sure Uncle Ben was playing prank on her but he shouldn’t take it too far as I’m not glad she’s not happy. Some minutes to the start of the party, it all turned I had little clue about the party as many faces especially that of our fellow corps members who I’m sure I did not invite, started trooping in en mass. Our LI was not excluded as she accused me of not telling her. LI: You this boy, where is Temmy? (with her Niger-Delta intonation) Temmy: I’m here, good evening ma. LI: Don’t good evening me, both of you are in soup. You did not even bother to invite me here. Temmy: We invited everybody ma and you are here already (We both laugh while she fakes seriousness) LI: Am I everybody? It was your Uncle that told me yesterday and I was telling him you did not mention it. I will query both of you. Me: Don’t worry ma, we’ll make it up to you. LI: You better, anyway I trust both of you, you won’t disappoint. Temmy: Disappoint ke, we don’t want extension now. (We all laughed) Our Li (Local inspector) is a nice woman; however the only language she understands is money and gifts. She knows we’ll surely give her something as we normally do every clearance day and some CDS days. The party was set and I could tell you I don’t know 70% of people in attendance. There are some big personnel who came with police escorts and I was really amazed. Aunty Joy who was trying to usher me to my sit notice the surprise on my face. Joy: Why are you surprised? Me: I don’t know 70% of people here. Joy: That’s what you get when your uncle is the highest shareholder of a rich company. You need to sit now, the program has started. The party was so top class I was wondering if it was really my birthday or something else. I sat on a round table flanked by Temmy, Rachael and Uche. A sit was empty by my right side. Next to our table is Uncle Ben, flanked by Aunty Joy, two top officials of the company and one of the prominent men that came with police escort. I’m sure he’s a politician. Sincerely I don’t recognize majority of others on the so called VIP seats. The MC was a well-known comedian and he started the party well, making everybody laugh while the DJ was accompanying him with soft music just as I love it. I’m sure that’s the handwork of Temmy, he’s the only one that knows my style of music apart from Funmi. The MC called up people to talk about me, a colleague at work, Temmy, Aunty Joy and finally my Uncle. It was my Uncle’s speech that turned the whole place emotional as he talks about his lost brothers. Ben: William Opeyemi Albert, my nephew is not just an Albert but a super one. If you are very close to him and you know my father, then you’ll agree they have exactly same character even though my father passed on while we were very young. Opeyemi is the symbol of the Albert family as he joins me as the second male Albert living. Although he’s my nephew yet I announce today, I’m adopting him totally as my son. Therefore, William Opeyemi Albert is an heir to this great company of ours. (There was applause from people as I was totally surprise. I never expect him to say that, not openly) Ben: Happy birthday to you my boy, you are a blessing to me beyond what you could imagine. I wish your mother and Deborah are here, but don’t worry, next time the whole family will be together. God bless you son. He left the podium as I went to him and gave him a passionate hug. After these testimonies, the party gear shifts as people were now eating and drinking while some were dancing. I sat down there alone at the table as Temmy was already dancing with Rachael and Uche with her new boyfriend. I’m sure she invited him. At this point I really miss Funmi or at least Aramide. After a while, Uncle Ben came and whisper to me “it’s time”. I in turn called on Temmy as we whisper to the MC and DJ to bring all dancing to a halt. After everybody had located their seat, Temmy and I took to the podium and started eulogizing Aunty Joy. I took the last speech but I spoke more of Funmi than I did Aunty Joy. Me: I’m sorry I speak more of somebody I love so much and wish is here. This is because Aunty Joy always makes me remember what love look like. I’ll like to tell everybody that as from this moment onward, this party has upgraded to my Uncle’s engagement party. There was a great surprise on Aunty Joy’s face as Uncle Ben went on his knee presenting her with the engagement ring Me: Aunty Joy, please marry my Uncle. After her show of surprise and blushing, she said yes, took the ring, put it on and hugged Uncle Ben affectionately to everybody’s delighted applause. I was so happy to finally see them cement their love and I can’t wait for them to get married already. The MC took the microphone and draws everybody’s attention, saying one more person will love to talk about me. Looking towards the stage seeing the person walking down to collect the microphone, I was totally amazed as I open my mouth and could not close it. EPISODE TWENTY-FIVE MFYL PR2 I chose not to describe her as usual this time around; because I don’t understand why I get stunned every time she appears like this. I admit I missed her a lot but she looks prettier than the last time I set my eye on her. Drawing me totally in the pool of love and emotion was her choice of dress that very moment. I’m very sure she has been planning for the day for a very long time. She took on the microphone and started speaking to everyone’s expectant hearing. Funmi: It was one of those embarrassing moment last year, I was having my visitor and it came during a party. Unfortunately the protector got leaked and I was obviously stained all over my adored dress. I felt so embarrassed I couldn’t continue the party with my friends. I had to isolate myself in a place where I was sure nobody will see me. I was waiting for the night to get darker so I could hide the stains in the darkness of the night while going home. But I waited too long as the night got too dark and quiet I couldn’t go home alone, any longer. There came this angel in form of a man, dressed casually, probably to catch fresh air. He came to me and insisted on helping me even thought I rejected his offer. Funmi: One sweet thing about him is how quickly he forgives. Baby you’ve got a heart of gold. I know so many things went against us and goof up big time. I don’t even deserve to be your friend but you’ve always cared for me. How you manage to keep your feelings inside, for all these months is really alien o me, because I know you’ve always love me. Hearing you talking about me while talking about your Uncle’s fiancée scatters me in an explosion of love for you. I love you too baby and I promise never to misuse this second opportunity I have. I’ll stick with you forever my baby and I don’t pray death separate us. I love you so much William, Happy birthday to you “Ifemi”. The whole crowd went into cheering at her remarks as I stood to meet her on the stage. Getting very close to her I discovered we were wearing the same cloth style. The bluish light on the stage made it confusing earlier. She actually bought that lace for both of us. I went up to her, gave her a passionate hug and kiss her on the lips for the very first time in public as people responded with applause. I picked up the microphone to reply her words. Me: I’m very sorry for how I’ve hurt you this six month plus. To be sincere, I was deeply hurt by what I saw then and I felt letting you go would heal my heart. How wrong? Each day that passes, I kept realizing I’ve already built my world around you. Baby it’s you or nobody else. You are my heart and my desire and I love you to the moon and back. She was smiling as I pulled back a little from her and went on my knees. The whole crowd went “AWE” as she covers her mouth with her hands. I didn’t know why I brought it to the party but I was so sure that was the right time to use it. I pulled out the ring case, opened it, and presented to her while I was on my knees. Me: I know I’ve asked you this once, but I couldn’t afford a ring then even if I wanted to get one. I bought this ring this morning, when my uncle bought his, even though I don’t know what to do with it, but now I know. Even though I didn’t know you’ll be coming down to this place because of me, I guess my heart has always known. Oluwafunmilola, will you please do me the favour of being my better half? Funmi: (Removing her hand from her mouth while smiling and blushing at the same time). William, My heart, I had a dream you proposed to me, like a thousand times and I said yes to every one of them. YES BABY I’LL MARRY YOU! I rose up to her and kissed her again, I picked the microphone, to introduce her to Uncle Ben. Me: Uncle, or should I say Daddy, since you have adopted me. This is Funmilola, my heart desire. Everybody gave a round of applause as the D.J played the music to beautify the moment. I took Funmilola to uncle Ben and he hugged her. I was surprised how much love shown to her and I can only hope my mum would do the same when she meets her because I’ve finally decided. The day went as planned, or not as entirely planned, I was actually surprised to see Funmi but I was very happy she was there. I’ve been living in denial that I don’t love her anymore, but I’m happy to have finally come out of my delusional state. The party was almost over when a woman entered. She looked so much like uncle Ben, she was welcomed by uncle Ben who was introducing his fiancée aunty Joy to her. I left my gaze off her as I concentrated on the pictures Funmi was showing me on her notepad. We looked like an already married couple since we were wearing the same outfit. Funmi: Baby, I don’t think we’ll need any pre-wedding shots again. These are enough. Me: Wasn’t planning of having one before, I’ll only do it if you wanted to. Funmi: Really? Me: Yeah, I don’t really fall for pre-wedding picture stuff. Funmi: It’s fun dear but we can pass it. Me: Then I’m happy to hear that. Funmi: I’m really happy to see you Will. Me: I’m most happy to see you, I’m sure Temmy’s hand is in your coming here. Funmi: Yeah, and Uche. Me: Irony of life, since when did you and Uche become close pals. Funmi: Actually I don’t really trust her, that’s why I made her my friend. Me: You made somebody you don’t trust your friend. Funmi: It’s you I don’t trust her with, it’s more like asking the cat to watch over the fish. It will be difficult for it to steal the fish. Me: You think so? Funmi: Yeah, she’s human not cat, so she’ll have some conscience. Me: What if you were wrong? Funmi: I’m prepared for that. Funny she’s been looking at us since. Me: Hmmm, she’s my friend though and she now has her own man. Funmi: Really, that’s what she told you? Me: I met the guy at her apartment. Funmi: She doesn’t like the guy that much. Me: Oh, you’re indeed close. Funmi: Speaking of staring your uncle’s visitor’s eye has been on you for more than 10mins now. Me: Really? (I tried to look at her side) Funmi: (She blocked me) Don’t do that, she’ll know we are talking about her. She looks like your uncle though. Me: She’s definitely father’s twin. Funmi: Your father is a twin? Me: Yeah, that’s what my mother told me. Funmi: You think that’s true? Me: Yeah, according to my mother. Funmi: Wow! I’ll love to have a twin, will you do that for me? Me: Am I God? Come on, I’ll love to have a twin too, don’t forget I’m one, so maybe, just maybe we will have one. Funmi: Two girls. Me: A boy and a girl. Funmi:No I want two girls. Me: Alright God is listening, keep praying. Funmi: Will, there’s a question I will like to ask you. What will you do if my father rejects our relationship? Me: Is he going to? Funmi: I don’t know. But he kept trying to push me to people he wants. Me:People like? Funmi:Like Fred. Me:What? Your father was the one that pitched you with Fred? Funmi:Yes he did it, indirectly though. Me: During the camp time? Funmi: No,we have known each other before then, before I met you. Me: Really? Funmi: Yes, he relaxed on it for some time but he has increased the pressure since that camp period. Me: But he didn’t force you to accept his proposal. Funmi: Will, I didn’t know what I was doing that time. Me: Hmm, so what do we do about it. Funmi: I don’t know, I’m scared. Maybe we should run away after service. Me: (smiles), run to where? Don’t worry, time will heal everything. With time your dad will get used to us together. Funmi: Are you sure? Me: Yeah, I think it’s time I meet your dad. Funmi: That’s not adviceable, he already told me I shouldn’t discuss anything related to such with him. Me: Then let it be. Funmi: Fred is another problem. Me: How is he a problem?. Funmi: He disturbs me and I don’t trust him Me: Trust him how? Funmi: He threatened to kidnap and rape me. Me: What? Funmi: Yes he said he would make me pregnant for him and make sure I deliver his second baby. Me: He has a baby already? Funmi: Yes, he raped the lady too. Me: Wait! Is the guy that powerful? Funmi: You know his father is one of the P.A to the governor. Me: And so? Funmi: He does as he likes. Me: Then lets report to the police. Funmi: No I don’t want you involved. Besides, police are in their pocket Me: It’s ok, I think you’ll have to apply wisdom in dealing with him. Funmi: Will, I am going to change my line. Me: It’s better that way. When are you leaving? Funmi: Are you chasing me? Me: Of course not, there is a room for you already Funmi: Really? Me: Yeah Funmi: Cool, then I’ll stay one week Me: Cool with me, though I prefer two weeks Funmi: Oliver twist (We both laughed as Temmy interrupted our discussion) Temmy: Will, where is your phone? Me: In my pocket, what’s up? Temmy: Vera has been calling you since Me: Oh, she called you? Temmy: Yeah, there is a problem Me: What’s it? Temmy: Guy, Aramide has been kidnapped Me/Funmi: What? |
EPISODE TWENTY-THREE MFYL PR2 Many times we have this thought that rich people had it easier or were favored in one way better than the rest, but the truth is many of them went through fire, scenario that is way bigger than our situation. Next time you want to envy a rich man, talk to him about what he went through. My uncle's situation is a perfect example of "money can't entirely buy happiness". Although I still felt his case is solvable if he wants to solve it, but he has already programmed his mind that it can never be reversed and that's the first obstacle to be overcome if he's to have children of his own. I wish he'll have them to lessen the burden they are about to pass on me and to allow me chose my life freely. Having me as the only heir will cage me somehow. It will be a bitter sweet experience anyway. One thing I can confirm from his story is that my biological father is dead in Asia as a drug trafficker killed by rival gang. That automatically put end to my search for my biological father. I'm sure Uncle Ben is yet to know his brother that died in Asia is my father and not the one he thought. I'm also sure he did not know I'm a twin. One project I wish to complete before my birthday next week is to bring him and Aunty Joy together. I was unable to meet Aunty Joy for a private chat until two days to my birthday as she's been traveling all over the region promoting the company's products. She was very tired being the day she came back from her tour but I slept over at her place to give her my mind. Sleeping over at her place has become a norm for me these days that Rachael is around taking Temmy's attention away from me. She came into the sitting room around 1 am while I was still watching a series collection. Joy: Will, common it’s 1am, you need to sleep. Me: Today is a free day; by the way you should be sleeping. Joy: I’ve rested enough and I don’t think the sleep is coming again. Me: Just rest a little, it will come back again. Joy: Thanks dear, I’ve missed you, how have you been? Me: I miss you too and I can see you’ve been really stressed Joy: The mistake I made was leaving you behind. Having you around would have made it easier. Me: Maybe next time. Joy: Next time is next year and I’m sure you’ll have left by then. Me: You never can tell, I might still be here. Joy: You’ll stay? (Looking excited) Me: Maybe, depending on you and Uncle Ben. Joy: Hmm, your Uncle is hiding his worries from me. Something is troubling him, I can tell but he is not sharing it. Me: He has actually told me everything Joy: He did? Can you share? Me: Of course I will. I narrated everything Uncle Ben told me to her as her mouth was wide open throughout. I sensed a reaction of mixed feeling from her the time I told her about his infertility. Joy: That should be curable Me: That’s what I told him. If he can apply medical and spiritual method, he could be cured. Joy: Now I know why he’s moody sometimes. He has really gone through a lot, but he should have told me these all these while. Me: He wanted you to be happy. He knows inability to have kids will surely make you sad. Joy: Of course it makes me sad but I’ve outgrown it. Me: How do you mean? Joy: I was having the same fear as he. I never know how he’ll take it too. Me: I’m still lost Joy: I told you little about myself before, but I did not tell you I’ve had series of abortions. Me: Oh, that’s then, we all make mistakes at youthful age Joy: Yeah, but the last one I had proven to be a costly one. I nearly lost my life to it but God saved me. Not without losing my entire womb anyway. Me: Oh! (Surprised) Oh my God! Joy: Yeah, I can’t give birth either. His case is still curable but mine is done for life. Me: I don’t agree. I’ve heard stories of people that still gave birth to children of their own with damaged womb. Joy: I’m sure they are not 43 years old. Mine is a case of damaged womb plus menopause Me: You are only close to menopause, you are not yet there. There is nothing God cannot do I believe. Joy: Yeah, I believe too but I’ve taken my mind off it. Good thing about it is my husband to be is in the same boat Me: Hmm Joy: You see the way my nephew likes me? They are all my children. Ben got you and your sister too. We are happy. Me: Two sisters Joy: I don’t get that Me: I mean I have two sisters Joy: Deborah and who? Me: I have a twin sister Joy: Are you kidding me? You are a twin and she’s alive? Me: Hail and healthy. Joy: She’s the one you said you are supposed to celebrate with right? Me: Yeah, Uncle Ben don’t know yet Joy: Why didn’t you tell him? Me: It’s a complicated case. I was looking for some information before I’ll tell him, though I’ve gotten them now. Joy: Where is she? Me: She’s in school. We attended the same school Joy: Why then she never appeared in any of your family pictures? Me: Because she has been with our biological mother. Joy: Your what? You mean your mother is not your real mother? Me: You see it’s complicated? Joy: Wao! Your family should be named misery Her phone rang and the call was from Uncle Ben. They spoke for a very long period that I slept off while they were still on it. This cut our discussion short as we couldn’t continue afterwards. I was also hoping she’ll not divulge my biological mother and twin sister’s secret to Uncle Ben as I’ll love to be the one to do that. Very early on my birthday, Uncle Ben took Temmy and I for a special shoping, he claimed he has some personal things to do. It was easier to leave Rachael at home because Uche was around as she slept over to the present day. I know something was fishy with the said shopping as I’ve bought everything I needed the last time he took me out. I even have enough cash to buy more if I had wanted to. My suspicion was right as we went on shopping at ladies and jewelries corner rather than men’s corner. He bought some female jewelry obviously for Aunty Joy and allowed us to buy for our girlfriends too. I bought a beautiful necklace and a complete set of female jewelries for Funmi. I also got her a hand bag, a wrist watch and a beautiful blue dress I was sure will look great on her. I saw a ring and I bought it without thinking. Temmy: You are buying a ring? Me: Yeah, I might need it later. Temmy: For whom? Funmi? Me: I’ll give it to whoever deserves to wear it. I just love the ring. Temmy: It will look so great on Funmi, you thought cool Me: You are campaigning for Funmi: Temmy: You love her and you know it. It’s time you stop this play. She has waited enough and I think she has passed the test of time. Me: I wasn’t the one that broke up in the first place and I’m sure Fred will make her happy. Temmy: Common! Fred is thing of the past and you know it. Me: Temmy let things work out by itself. I’m not going to push for it. If it will work it will work by itself. Temmy: It will, you should stop blocking it. By the way, what’s Uncle Ben up to today? Me: I think he’s in love. (Uncle Ben came from behind and he obviously heard what I said) Ben: Yes I am and I have a task for you guys. Me: What’s the task? He told us the plan and how he wants the birthday party to go. Temmy/Me: Wao! Temmy: Correct! I’ll love that Ben: By the way who is Funmi? Temmy: Will’s fiancée Ben: You have a fiancée? Me: Ex-girlfriend he meant to say. We are no more together. Ben: Temmy, is she beautiful? Temmy: Very beautiful and caring Ben: I’ll like to meet her, maybe I’ll like her. Where is she? Me: She’s in Lagos Ben: I’ve not told you this before but I actually promised my friend Orire you’ll marry his daughter, but I don’t know why he has never allow me to see the lady, not even once. I only saw her pictures while she was younger. Me: Really? Do you still have the pictures? Ben: I can’t find it again. I’m changing my mind; I think it’s not right to just impose on you like that since you have somebody you are dating. Me: We’ve broken up Ben: Let me see her first Temmy: You’ll like her sir Ben: Have you met Orire’s daughter? Me: I spoke with her once but I’ve never seen her. Ben: I’ll talk to him. He should forget about it. He was only scared about something and I’ll assure him of it. Me: Thanks, that’s a relief. I still love to meet the said babe though. Ben: Hmm Ekun (Tiger). You don’t have the players instinct in you, just stay in your lane. Me: How can you tell? Ben: Common, it runs in the family. My late brothers and I were always like that too. Me: Maybe I’m changing the status quo Temmy: Sir, don’t trust him entirely o, the guy is a crook sometimes. I playfully kicked him as we stepped out of the mall and headed for the lodge. The party was to be held at the company’s multipurpose hall and the fact that many company’s staff were going to be there was a turn off for me. I really don’t like crowd and party alike, but this is more like a reunion party with my uncle and I can’t deny him the joy. Rachael brought my phone that I had left with her while we were going out, only to discover I had numerous missed calls and messages. Most of the calls came from Funmi. I called back everybody including my mum, Debby and my twin sister Aramide. I told her I had discovered many miseries about our father but will be telling her later. She also told me they’ve mobilize them for service as they will be going with the next batch A. Before I could drop the call to Aramide, Funmi’s call was already waiting. Me: Hello Funmi Funmi: Do you hate me that much? Me: Common, I never hate you. Why did you say that? Funmi: Why are you hurting me that much? Me: I’m sorry but what are you talking about? Funmi: I never know you are this wicked Me: Hello o, who am I speaking with? Funmi: (Laughing) I got you! Happy birthday baby. I wish you more love and happiness, though you didn’t invite me for the party. Me: I’m sorry, it was the distance. Funmi: No problem, enjoy you day. I’ll call you later. Love you. Me: (I almost said “I love you too”) Thanks beauty. Talk to you later. Funmi: Wait! Me: What’s that? Funmi: I sent you a cloth Me: Really? Funmi: Yeah, please do me a favour by wearing it to the party. Me: I don’t understand Funmi: The cloth is with Temmy. Please wear it, Ple-a-se! Me: Alright I’ll wear it. Funmi: (Obviously happy) Thanks baby. I love you so much. |
EPISODE TWENTY-TWO MFYL PR2 He making me the beneficiary of all his properties should be a good news but it’s a little weird and tricky. He’s as old as a person I can call daddy, I don’t understand why he did not get married and have kids of his own. On the other hand, he’s dating aunty Joy and I’m sure she’ll want kids, all these caring and making me the sole beneficiary will change. The best thing I can do now is to use his influence to get a good job or at least get financial backing to start my business. I’m also thinking I should not stay in this company. Me: Why will he do that? Joy: I really don’t know too but he’s highly obsessed about you. Me: Well, by the time he starts having kids all of that will change. Joy: Hmnn Me: So what’s up? Are you guys back together for real? Joy: Close to that but he’s still a little reluctant and I’m not sure why. I have something I should tell him too tough it might not be necessary anymore but he deserves to know. Me:You can always tell him now. You are a lady; you always know how to do your things. Joy: You think so? It’s huger than that. Maybe I’ll tell you later. Me: No problem ma. You have a really great place here. Joy: Thanks dear. Me: Truth be told, it’ll take a guy a lot of guts and balls to come after seeing this except a perpetual gold digger. Joy: Hmmn, so you mean you can’t woo me if you meet me ordinarily? Me: Well, I’m not sure. Number one, you are richer, Number two, you are older. Joy: Does that matter? Me: It does not really matter but for a young dude like me, I think it matters. I only go after ladies I’ve made friends with. JOY: So you don’t believe in love at first sight? Me: There is nothing like that. Joy: You know you speak more like him. Me: I’ve not noticed that. Joy: Let’s leave that, it’s time for dinner. We had our dinner and chatted throughout the night, we went to sleep around 3a.m. She’s so understanding and modern that we flowed so freely. I’m really going to push hard for his relationship with Uncle Ben. She also showed me more pictures of myself grown up with that of Debby. Uncle Ben has been stalking us for a longer time and I think daddy Orire is his agent. Few days to my birthday, Uncle Ben took me out for real shopping. He bought me clothes and nice shoes without allowing me to say NO. Most of the things we bought were in twos as I always request for my home boy, Temmy. Even though I have a female twin sister, Temmy is my real twin brother as far as I’m concerned. After the shopping, we had a very long conversation. Ben: If there is anything you need for your day to be cool, just let me know. Me: Thank you sir, I … Ben: I’ll transfer some money to your account this evening so you can buy whatever you want more. Me: Thank you very much sir. I … Ben: Be free to tell me anything okay. I shouldn’t be hearing it from others. Me: Aunty Joy told you right? Ben: Yes, if she did not, I would be so unhappy that day. Me: I really don’t want to celebrate it because if I’m to celebrate it, there is someone I should celebrate it with. Ben: You can invite the person over. Me: Thanks sir Ben: You are welcome Me: Since you want me to tell you things freely, I think you should too. Ben: You think I’m not telling you some things? Me: I think we both have Aunty Joy sir. Ben: (Smiles), What did she tell you? Me: That you are my real uncle? Ben: (Sighs) I honestly don’t know how to tell you all these while Me: You were trying to make it a surprise? Ben: No, I thought you will freak out Me: I did freak out but I’ve been getting stuffs like that often. Ben: I’m really sorry about everything. I wanted to come in and help when your father passed away but I wasn’t sure what your mother will say. Me: No problem sir, God really took care of us. Ben: Yeah, I see that. Your mother is a great personality. It was when I couldn’t bear it anymore that I begged my friend Orire to be transferred to your side. We had to start new branch there so he could be transferred there. Me: I thought the branch there was opened because of the closeness to raw materials. Ben: Yeah, that’s the logical reason behind it but the main reason is because of you guys. Besides, that’s our home too. Me: Really? Ben: Your father didn’t tell you before he died? Me: Not really but we don’t have any family house there. Ben: We do. Our father built a house before he died even though we were very young then. Our mother marrying another man scatters everything. This is why I’m particular about you. Me: I don’t understand sir Ben: I’m the only male child of my father left. Your father and our other brothers passed on. Our sister is still alive, she lives in lagos. You’ll meet her later. You are the only one besides me that carries our fathers name Albert. That name must not die. Me: Hmmn, Sir, why don’t you get married and have kids too? Ben: (He placed his hand on my shoulder) It’s a long story but I’ll tell you everything Me: Okay sir. Ben: You see, I love Joy so much, though she initially rejected me but now she’s coming back but my conscience is pushing me away. Me: Did you do something wrong? Ben: Close to that, though not to her. What I’m about to tell you, I can’t tell her. Me: She will be hurt if you don’t marry her. I will help you tell her since we are very close now. Ben: Maybe, but after hearing what I’m about to say, I doubt you’ll want to tell her. Me: I’m listening sir. Ben: When we were still young adults, not married and things were not going smoothly, we all decided to go to Ghana since the opportunity present itself that time. Only your father refused to go with us saying he’ll prefer to make it right here in Nigeria and I’m happy he did not follow us because if he had, we won’t be having this conversation. Ben: Getting to Ghana, things were not like we expected. It actually went from bad to worse. The four of us, myself, my brother and two other friends of my brother had to do menial jobs to survive as the person we went with abandoned us moment we got there. We never knew he was a drug peddler and wanted to use us for drug trafficking. Ben: After suffering for many months, he later come back for us and we worked for him because we literarily don’t have option. He took us to an herbalist for protection but the man said he will only help us in exchange for something. What he asked for was too costly, so we decided we don’t want his protection, that we’ll do it using our brain. Ben: We carried out the first operation and were highly successful. We became rich and wanting more. The problem started when my brother and one of his friends were caught in Asia and before our boss could do anything, they were both killed without trial. We later discovered they were captured and killed by a rival drug gang and not the government. Ben: This made us very sad as I couldn’t believe I lost my brother just when things started changing for us. We went back to the herbalist to offer what he asked earlier in exchange for our protection as it was then dawn on us we have two major enemies, the government and other drug gangs. After doing it we were confident and continued our drug business. Me: What was the thing you exchanged for protection? Ben: (Sighs) Our manhood Me: What? Like… (I opened my mouth) Ben: (Smiles) No, my manhood is still there but I’ve traded the fertility. And that means I can never give birth to a child of my own. Me: Damn! That’s huge. I’m sorry sir. Ben: Don’t be sorry for me. I got what I wanted, it actually served me right. Me: When did you stop the drug business? Ben: After the rituals, we had four successful drug years and I was a little wise to be saving back home in Nigeria then. The other guy, my brothers other friend was lavishing his own money anyhow. Though he’s a nice guy. I forced him to save some in Nigeria and he did save with his brother. It was like I saw the doom coming forth as our boss was killed that year by other gangs in Asia while we were arrested. Ben: We were in prison in Asia for fourteen years without trial and all hope was lost. The prison became filled up at a time and majority of us were drug traffickers. Some guys from south American initiated a jail break and we took the opportunity to escape. Unfortunately, many of us died as the government forces came after us. My brother’s friend lost his life and I was the only one who made it home. Me: Wao! You’ve gone through all these? Ben: Yeah, I started this company and gave shares to my dead brothers and to my friend that helped me when I got back home. He helped me to get back all my money and start this company. Me: Why didn’t you come back to our home town? Ben: It was difficult. I realized your father was dead and some people who knew I was a drug peddler were there those days. I had to hide myself because I felt I was still being chased. All of them are dead now so I can come when I’m ready. Me: Wao! I don’t know what to say! Ben: That’s why I need you to be great. You’ll inherit this company. Get married, give birth and continue our father’s name. Me: I understand now. I still think you should tell Aunty Joy, she’ll understand. Ben: She’s a woman, she’ll want kids. Me: She’s also near menopause, I know. But I don’t think she’ll care too much about that. Ben: I can’t tell her, maybe you should tell her. Me: I can do that Ben: As from now on, I’ll be showing you things you should know about the company. |

EPISODE TWENTY-ONE MFYL PR2 The pictures were black and white with Little Will and Debby snapped together in most places. There was a family picture there where my mum, my step-dad (my Uncle), Debby and I were snapped together as a family. Debby was still very young in the picture as she was been carried by mum. This clearly shows Uncle Ben has been keeping tab on us since I was a kid. Another case scenario was that Uncle Ben was in touch with my stepfather before his demise and that would mean my step father was not totally open to my mum about the where about of his brothers or maybe mum was the one that did not divulge the whole truth to me. The positive side to the whole story is I at least have somebody from my father's side caring for me. Me: Aunty Joy also gave me some revelations today Temmy: Who is Aunty Joy? Me: The Director Temmy: Oh, you call her that now? Me: She won't let me otherwise Temmy: What did she tell you about uncle Ben and why is he having your pictures? Me: Uncle Ben happens to be my real uncle Temmy: Really? Me: Yeah. He's the third brother of my father. Temmy: Mehn; that explains Daddy Orire's role Me: I think Uncle Ben was the one asking Daddy Orire to be doing what he did Temmy: What are you going to do now? Me: I don't think he has realized that I now know. So I'll keep it that way, besides. I'll love to hear more from Aunty Joy. Temmy: How much do you think she knows? Me: Enough to clear my head I guess. Temmy: Will you tell mum? Me: I'm not telling anybody for now, not even Aramide, not until I'm able to prove and ascertain the truth. Temmy: That's better; they might push you too much Me: Exactly, I want it revealed slowly. Temmy: Should i return these pictures? Me: Where exactly did you find them? Temmy: They are well kept in a folder in the old store. Me: He might look for them later. Let's snap and return it back. Temmy: That's a good idea. We snapped the pictures and returned them back to the old store. While coming back, we saw uncle Ben and Aunty Joy driving out of the compound in Aunty Joy's car. I believed they were going for their date and I wondered what Aunty Joy needs my help for since they are back together. Temmy: In another news, Rachael is coming here. Me: Wao! That’s cool, where is she coming? Temmy: Tomorrow Me: Oh, why is she just saying it now or should I say why are you just saying it now? Temmy: She’s been saying it before but she just told me she’ll be coming tomorrow this morning. Me: I guess they are on holiday Temmy: No, they just resume back from long term holiday but the workers in the state are now on strike. Me: Oh! What will she do about CDS? Temmy: She serves in a highly remote place far from the city, they don’t do no CDS. Me: That’s cool. We’ll have to arrange that room for her. Temmy: Yeah. So how do we celebrate your birthday? Me: Even you? Common it’s next month and I’m not celebrating it. Temmy: Tell that to Funmi Me: She called you? Temmy: She’s wishing you can come to Lagos to celebrate it. Me: She didn’t tell me that Temmy: She wanted me to persuade you first. Me: What did you tell her? Temmy: I told her I’ll try and I’ve done that (we both laughed) We both clean and arrange one of the two remaining rooms, waiting for Rachael to come the following day. After cleaning up, we sat down in the sitting room to watch Champions league matches. It was the last set of games for the group stage. As we were watching, Aunty Joy sent me a text message to check my whatsapp. I checked the whatsapp message and saw the pictures of herself and Uncle Ben. They were both happy and having fun with what I saw in the picture to which I replied with “Thumps Up”. Rachael did arrived very late in the night on the said day as she revealed she’s staying till the strike action is called off. Everybody in her area were allowed to leave till further notice as their state coordinator was scared of the rumored attack between the communities. Me: It means the strike is just a good escape route Rachael: Yes o, I’m even tired of that place. Me: Why? Rachael: I’ll prefer Jos city. There is no light, no water there. Imagine we have to go to another community, the local government head quarter to bath or get drinking water. Me: Common is it that bad? Rachael: You won’t believe it. The light made it worse. If there was light, the lodge we were given has pumping machine. Me: They don’t have any well around? Temmy: I’ve been wanting to ask the same thing Rachael: The next well to where we are is fifty naira bike distanced. Me: Na wa o, you are the one really serving. Rachael: You guys are enjoying now. See the house they give you. Temmy: We are just lucky o. Guys are only enduring here, especially those on water. Me: They lack drinking water as most water they draw from wells turn oily some minutes after and some don’t even have good toilet except the general community toilets built at the creeks. Temmy: And things are extremely expensive here. Rachael: That’s one thing about my side. Things are very cheap there except transport. I’m sure fish will be highly cheap here. Temmy: Chea what? Me: Funny, fish is more expensive on the islands Rachael: Why is that? Temmy: Because they import fish from the outside just like every other person. All the fishes in the river had been killed by water contamination by oil. Rachael: Nobody will believe this from out there o Me: That’s the reality. The people enjoying in this place are the people staying in PH and other big cities like Bori. Those other villages are surffering big time. From water especially. Temmy: I just hope somebody up there will look into their situation, because their politician obviously do not care. Rachael: Nawa o, everybody with his own palava. Temmy: That’s it. We all use our own state of living to judge others, whereas condition differs. Me: Let’s leave that, what will you eat Rachael? Rachael: I already took something in the bus, I’ll just love to shower and rest. Me: Your room has it’s own bath. You can have your shower there. Rachael: Cool, I think I’ll redeploy here o. Me: Sorry, too late. We helped her settle into the room as she took her bath while we play PES on the system. The days that followed was a touring one for us as we took Rachael around the city. Rachael being a nice and jovial person, she got in tune with many people easily as she was more cliché to me every time we walk than she was to Temmy which gave people around the wrong impression that she’s my girlfriend, including Uncle Ben and Aunty Joy. Aunty Joy fulfilled her promise to tell me more about Uncle Ben as she took me to her house one Friday to stay overnight. Joy: Your girlfriend is cool, nice and lively, I personally like her. Me: You are talking about Rachael I guess Joy: Yeah, everybody likes her including your uncle but he has somebody else he’ll like you to marry. Me: Let me guess, Daddy Orire’s Daughter? Joy: I don’t know this your Daddy Orire but If he’s the friend your uncle always referred to, the you might be right. Why did you suggest that? Me: Because my mum and Daddy Orire has been trying to match make us. Joy: She might be the one. It’s more like there is an agreement or some sort of favour between your uncle and his friend. Me: Agreement for me to marry his daughter’s friend? Joy: I’m not sure but it’s more like it. Me: That’s ridiculous! I don’t even know him as my uncle before now, yet he’s using me to make bargain. Joy: I don’t think he’s planning to force it. He meant well for you. Me: Anyway, I literary don’t have anybody yet. Maybe I’ll like her when I meet her. Joy: What about Rachael? Me: She’s Temmy’s fiancée Joy: Really? She’s close to you. That reminds me, what about the lady were calling that day. Me: Funmi, she’s the one that might be hurt if I decided to marry Daddy Orire’s daughter. Joy: Hmm, I’m caught in the middle here. I want you to be happy and I want your uncle to be happy too. Me: He’ll be happy. He doesn’t even know I know him as my uncle. Joy: You know he co-owned this company with the two other owners. Me: They are three that owned it? Joy: Yeah, your uncle and two other people I don’t know. He has highest share though, more than 50%. Me: That’s more like he owns the company. Joy: Yeah, but he prefers to stay at this branch rather than Lagos. Me: I see Joy: Let me tell you a secret. He has willed all his shares to you. You are the beneficiary in all his files. |
Peak my dear, it's in You. Keep it coming, slowly and steady, it will reach the promise land. |
Sorry to for the late update. Typing with phone is job, and I had a stressful day at work |
EPISODE TWENTY MFYL PR2 I'm honestly hoping this is a case of mistaken identity because if it's true, it does not make any sense. Me: (Laughs) He's the one that insisted we call him uncle Ben, we are not related in any form. Joy: Then how dud you know him? Me: It was Daddy Orire who works for the company's branch at my home town that introduced me to him. Joy: Hmm, it seems there is a lot you don't know. I don't know Daddy Orire but what's your last name? Me: Albert Joy: What's Uncle Ben's last name? Me: Albert Joy: And you think that's a mere coincidence? Me: Yes it is, he's a Kalabari man but I'm Yoruba. Joy: His mother is Kalabari but he's a Yoruba. I think you need to ask him a lot of questions. Me: I'll rather you tell me the facts you know because I'm getting more confused now Joy: Confused how? Me: People tends to know more about me than I do. Almost at every junction of life, I keep discovering new thing about myself from others. Joy: Don't worry dear. I'll tell you everything I know. Maybe by weekend or next week, I'll invite you over to my place. Me: Why can't it be tonight? Joy: Don't rush. I have a date with your uncle tonight and it's one I've been looking forward to. Me: No problem. You like him a lot? Joy: Yeah, I pushed him away saying he's way older than me but I did love him and I wanted him back now. Me: Anything you needed to do just tell me, I'll help. I'll love both of you together. Joy: Thanks dear. I heard you saying it's next month the other time. It's your birthday right? Me: Yeah, it's next month Joy: Hope your Uncle knows? Me: I'm not sure. He'll know that day. Joy: I don't think that's a good idea. That's the only thing he really don't know about you, so it'll be good you tell him earlier. It'll make him happy. Me: Oh, I don't want to celebrate it, I'll just mark it. Joy: I'm not sure you can just mark it. Even myself will celebrate it with you. Me: I really don't like stuffs like that Joy: I wish you know how precious you are to your uncle. He's been checking on you from distance. Don't worry I'll tell you everything later. Me: Hmm, thanks ma. Just when I thought the mysterious drama of my life has got balance, another chapter was opened. "If Uncle Ben is my real uncle, then maybe he'll know where my biological father is. Should I ask him directly or wait till he's ready to talk? I'm getting highly impatient". She parked right in the compound while I headed straight into the room. I wished at that moment we were Americans where I can search for people's history. As my curiosity grows, I put a call through to my mum to ask some questions Me: Hello mum Mum: Opeyemi mi (My Opeyemi) How are you? Me: I'm fine mum. How are you and Debby? Mun: I'm fine. Deborah is here (I could hear her shouting "call me o" from the background) age said you should call her. Me: I'll call her later. Mum I need to ask some questions Mum: Hope there is no problem? Me: Not at all. Mum, how many are they in my Dad's family? Mum: I don't get the question Me: I mean is it only my father and my step father that were born to their parents Mun: Those are big questions. Well I only know your father and his brother. I didn't not know much about your biological father as I only saw him a couple of times before he left for Ghana. Me: What about their parents? Do you know anything about them? Mum: According to my husband, their father died while they were young and their mother remarried. Me: Where is the mother now? Mum: I don't know. He said they both ran away when their mother remarried. He tried to search for her before his demise but couldn't. Why are all these questions coming now dear? Hope all is well? Me: I'm just curious mum Mum: Your mother might know more than I do, try asking her. Me: Okay ma. Thank you. Mum: Please be careful o. Before you take any step, let me know about it. Me: I will mum, bye ma. That call succeeded in complicating the matter rather than solve the puzzle. "So their father died and their mother remarried. Where is their mother? If they are just two and my step father is dead, at least I'm sure of that and Uncle Ben is his brother, then Uncle Ben is my father?" I grew more impatient and put a call through to my biological mother maybe she'll shed more light. Me: Hello ma Mother: Ejire Ara isokun (She continues to eulogies me as a twin until she's satisfied) Me: Thank you ma. How are you ma? Mother: I give glory to God my son. I'm still enjoying everything you sent to me even though your little sister (Praise) wants to finish everything in a day. Me: Let her eat mummy, I'll send money to buy another one. Mother: No, you are not working yet. When you start working, you can give as you wish. Me: No problem ma, any little i can do now, I'll be doing. Mother: Thank you my dear. How is your friend? Me: He's fine ma. His name is Temiloluwa Mother: He's a good friend, you should never leave each other Me: Yes ma'am Mother: How is that girl too? That fair lady that came to the hospital then? Me: Uche? Mother: Yes, I remember she's Igbo. How is she? Me: She's fine ma Mother: She's a good girl. Is she the one you are planning to marry? Me: Mummy nooo, she's just a friend Mother: Are you sure? Don't disappoint her o Me: No mummy, we are not dating Mother: She's a lovely lady really. I'll like to meet your wife to be anytime soon o. Me: Don't worry, I'll bring her over Mother: So there is somebody? Me: Not really ma Mother: Which one is not really? Don't be a player o Me: No ma, far from it Mother: Alright dear, be good o. Me: Thanks ma. Mummy I need to ask some questions about my father. Mother: I'll answer all your questions dear Me: Mummy, is my father and his brother the only people from their family? Mother: No, your father is a twin Me: He's a twin? Mother: Yes, just like you and your sister, he had a twin sister too. Me: Oh, the other is a female? Mother: Yeah. They also have another brother. Their father is a little complicated one. Their mother remarried after the demise of their father and she has children with her new husband. The other brother they have is not of their mother. Me: This is getting bigger Mother: Just listen dear. Their younger brother is from another mother but their mother was the one that took care of him before their father passed on because her own mother was not. She died giving birth to him. Me: Do you know how I can locate all of them? Mother: Your father and their younger brother went to Ghana together. Your father's twin sister stayed with their mother so she'll probably know where their mother is. Me: Do you know where she is? Mother: I only saw her once when she came over to our town but I don't think I can recognize her now. Me: Do you know which tribe their mother is from? Mother: Yes, she's Kalabari and she remarried somebody from her tribe. Your father's twin got married to an Ipere man Me: You mean Ikwere? Mother: Maybe, we call them Ipere here Me: Is it from Rivers state here? Mother: I know her husband is from Porthacourt Me: Okay, it's Ikwere ma Mother: Okay. Why are you asking all these? Did you meet somebody? Me: I'm close to that. If you see their brother, do you recognize him? Mother:It's been long, but I should. He has your father's look Me: Thank you ma, I'll call you of I get anything. Mother: You are welcome my dear. Please be careful o. I heard rivers are many over there. Please stay clear of water o, don't underestimate them no matter how small it look. Me: Thank you ma. Extend my greetings to praise. Mother: She's here, she want to speak with you Me: Give her the phone ma "One thing is confirmed from her revelations, Uncle Ben is indeed my Uncle, probably their younger brother, if Kalabari mother is true. I think that's all I need for now. I'll be dissecting others later." I got a little relieved knowing Uncle Ben is my real Uncle and I'm sure he's the one asking Daddy Orire to send those money to me. The other positive thing here is he'll know what happened to my father since they went to Ghana together. I was in this relieved thought when Temmy came in. Temmy: Where have you been? Me: We were just touring the whole city o. I even used the opportunity to see Uche. Don't worry, there is gist on that Temmy: No real enjoyment. I think I know why director is nice to us Me: Why? Temmy: She's dating Uncle Ben Me: Yeah, she told me that Temmy: She told you? Wao! I've been in the old store since, helping the house help to clean the place. I saw your pictures there. Me: My pictures? Temmy: Yeah, you, Debby, mum and your Dad (He brought out the black and white pictures). |
Sorry for the typo errors their. It's corrected now and you can reread. Question: With Uche's confession and her effort to get Will and Funmi back together, do you think she can now be trusted or its another plot by her? Should we easily forgive and believe people like that in life? |
EPISODE NINETEEN MFYL PR2 Leopard does not change it's skin and Lion will always be lion. It's good to give people chance to prove they are not what we assumed them to be, but one still need to thread with caution. All fingers and permutations pointed to her as the likely mole giving Funmi those information but I've always rejected the suggestion and decided to believe in her new personality. I've given her so much chance into my life to the extent I once had a strange feeling for her. She's well loved by Debby and my two mothers alike only that my mum's stance on Daddy Orire's daughter remained unchanged. This undoubtedly should have affected our friendship but I still decided to look at the other side. She could have decided to keep it in and I would never have evidently traced it to her but she decided to say the truth even though it's coming rather late. Another angle to it is she was not the one that asked Funmi to break the relationship without proper investigation, she only gave her information which Funmi could have decided to ask me properly instead of jumping into conclusion, taking a damaging step in the long run. Funmi and I are still close as we speak almost everyday. If not for distance I'm sure she'll be by my side every moment, though I've decline to talk on us getting back together. I was waiting to meet Daddy Orire's daughter before making my decision. Me: Are you being serious right now? Uche: Will, please I'm really sorry. I know you trust me now and it means a lot. It was a mistake then. Me: Why are you telling me now? Uche: I've been meaning to tell you but I'm scared you'll hate me and I can't afford that, but my conscience won't let me rest. Me: At least you have conscience. Till now, Funmi won't tell me who told her. Uche: That's because she promised me she won't Me: But why did you do it? Uche: I need to know you've forgiven me first Me: If I've not, I'll be out of your room by now Uche: Thanks Will Me: I'm listening Uche: She approached me when she realized we were on the same camp Me: Approach you where and when? Uche: I received her call on camp asking about you. I sensed her insecurity then and took the opportunity Me: Opportunity for what? Uche: I know you love her so much and won't look any side except she broke up with you. Me: So you fed her with lie about me? Uche: No, I only told her you are likely dating Ifunaya Me: Common, likely is more like saying I was dating her Uche: I'm sorry, I actually let my affections for you to take over that time Me: So who is the other lady she was talking about? Uche: That would be me Me: You told her I was dating you too? Uche: I did not tell her you were dating me. I only told her you are very close to me but I did not tell her it was me. I told her another girl. I did not give her name. Me: Wao! You realize your action broke our relationship right? Uche: Yeah, that was what I wanted then. I knew she was dating another guy on camp and I knew you went to her place that time after camp. I'm really sorry. Me: It's okay Uche. You can only force a camel to the river, you can't force the camel to drink. It's her choice to believe you not yours. Uche: You guys will come back together right? Me: I'm not sure about that Uche: I saw a picture you took together recently on her DP Me: That was the picture we took at Janet's wedding last month. It means nothing. Why didn't you come for the wedding? Uche: I don't really have the money to be going up and down, besides I don't feel like being there because I literally gave her the guy. Me: You should move on from that. They are married now. Uche: I have moved on and I'm happy I did not go because I don't know how I'll be able to cope between you and Funmi, knowing I caused your separation. Me: You are good Uche, and I'm happy you are finding love again. Uche: I'm not dating him Me: Not yet you mean. You don't like him? Uche: He's okay, I'm not just sure. The moment we are done with service, who knows what he'll turn to. Me: Hmm, you may be right though. Just make sure you are happy, you deserve to be. Uche: Thanks Will, this your heart always make one develop feelings for you. Everybody want a good man. Me: Wrong assumption, I'm not near good at all. Uche: That's what you'll say now. Though you have your shortcomings like every other person but you are indeed a caring fellow. I only wish you settle things with Funmi. Me: Thanks, that part is complicated though. Uche: I know you Will, if you want her back you'll get her. Please I need you back together. I'm not sure I'll have total peace of you don't come back together. Me: You'll have peace Uche. Don't put your happiness on anything other than yourself okay. As we spoke on, I received a call from Aunty Joy, telling me it's time to move. I left Uche's room promising to visit her soon while she escorted me to the gate. I was expecting to meet Aunty Joy waiting outside the gate but she wasn't there yet and this made me walk towards the building I saw her drove into earlier. I met her trying to separate herself from her nephew that refuse to come down from her arms. Sighting me, she introduced me to her sister who looks beautiful also but got more body and looks obviously older. "So you are the William I've been hearing about. You are indeed handsome" said the sister to which I responded "thank you ma" with a blushing smile. "Why didn't you come inside here? You should visit often okay. The next time you come, I'll make you white soup" She said. They've obviously been talking about me before then and she look very nice. I don't know what they've discussed about me neither do I know what Aunty Joy has in mind towards me, but I sure want to taste that white soup. That would be the first time I'll be hearing it. We left the place and headed back to the lodge where she'll drop me off before going to her side. Me: Your nephew seems to like you a lot Joy: Whenever I'm around, I automatically becomes his mother. Me: That's great, he's telling you to do quick. Joy: (She smiles) Yeah, you'll be helping with getting that done Me: (Okay, I'll do like I don't hear that). Your sister is also beautiful, I think it runs in the family. Joy: Thanks dear Me: You look so much alike, at least you know how you'll look at her age. Joy: (She smiles) That's not possible again Me: How do you mean? Joy: She's my younger sister. She's our third and last born. There is a man in between us, he's married and in abroad. Me: Are you kidding me? You look younger than her Joy: I hear that a lot. Me: So only you has not married, why? Joy: (She smiles) Maybe because I look younger. (We both laughed) I am a kind of lady who can't accept a man over me. I have this ego that always push guys away from me. The longest relationship I had before now, lasted a year and the guy tried so much to make us work but I always push him away. He's married now. Me: OH! But I don't see you as proud. Your personality I know is humble and nice. Except to the workers which I know you do to bring best out of them Joy: Thanks Will, I know I'm stubborn most times and that's why I'm still single. Don't worry you'll help me out, right? Me: (Heaven knows I don't know how, but what the heck!) Surely I will. Anything for you ma. I received a call from Funmi and I was reluctant to pick it, though we've spoken earlier in the morning that day, Uche's confession kind of made me felt somehow towards her, but I pick the call anyway. Me: Hello Funmi Funmi: Hello Will, I tried your number earlier but was out of coverage Me: Oh! Maybe it was while I was on water. The village network was poor Funmi: You traveled on water? Me: Yeah Funmi: To do what? Me: Just for fun Funmi: Really? Where did the courage came from because I know you have phobia for sea Me: I'm learning to man up these days Funmi: Like you weren't man before. I sent you a message on BBM but it bounced back Me: I need to update the app for it to work again. Send the message on WhatsApp Funmi: Okay, anyway it's about your birthday, how are you celebrating it? Me: I'm not sure I want to. It's still next month now. Funmi: After today it's not up to a month again Me: I would have love to have it with my sister but I'm not going home anytime soon Funmi: Common Will, you'll celebrate it jor. Don't worry we'll talk about it later on WhatsApp. Me: Alright, I need to tell you something though Funmi: What's that? Me: I now know the person that fed you with those wrong info while I was on camp Funmi: Common Will, are we still on that? Me: No, it's just amazing you could trust the person you told me to be careful of that much. Funmi: I'm sorry Will, can we talk about it later? Me: If it's necessary Funmi: Alright, I'll tell you everything later. Take care dear. Me: Yeah bye (the line went off) Joy: Troubled relationship? Me: We are no more together, we broke up since we were in camp Joy: Why? Me: She thought I was cheating so she went ahead and broke up Joy: But she's trying to come back now? Me: Yeah, but I'm not having any of it. Joy: Try to consider her okay, she's a lady you know. There is little her heart can bear. Me: (Well, that means you are not having ill thought towards me. Good to know) I'll think about it. Joy: She sounded like me. That's the same mistake I made and I'm trying to get back now. Me: I thought you said he's married? Joy: No, not that one. I'm talking about your uncle. He's the one I said you'll help me with. Me: My uncle? Joy: Yes, your father's brother. Uncle Ben. |

EPISODE EIGHTEEN MFYL PR2* Even though I was joking when I told Aramide I was going to marry Daddy Orire's daughter, I really want to meet her in person. I think I should meet her maybe she'll be somebody I'll like and then I can totally forget about Funmi. The truth is I can only let go of Funmi in my heart if I allow somebody else in, which is why I'll have to be careful who I get close to from now on. I wanted to ask Daddy Orire for his daughter's number but I felt it will be a bad idea. I think it's better to allow him use his own way. Touring Europe together will be a good Avenue to know her daughter very well even though it's still gonna be longer. Talking of Uncle Ben, his caring towards me in the little time I've known him his already surpassing that of Daddy Orire. He gets in touch almost every time and sends me money indiscriminately. I have a feeling he has a high share in the company so I'm going to assume he's close to Funmi's Dad. After getting back to PH, we resume work and I was happy we were told to go to any engineering section we love. The company is a very big one having heavy machineries they use in processing of the fruit juices up to canning, bottling and packaging. Temmy and I used the first week to tour the whole engineering and none engineering sections as we were respected all over the places. I thought the respect was because we came through the manager bit I was wrong. After settling to stay at the maintenance control section we discovered after the manager, the most feared personality is a young looking lady they called director. She's young in face but old in age. She has a very beautiful face coupled with wonderful and appealing structure that fill in for her brief (not tall) height. She's on charge of the employees activities in the company and will never take nonsense from anybody. Contrarily, she was nice to us and allow us to do whatever we like and this made others fear us thinking we can tell her anything. Why she's nice to us, I can't tell. We were able to learn the maintenance routine on time as the chief engineer always asked us to include our ideas anytime we are on the machines. Temmy and I introduced Routine Maintenance which they've not been practicing very well before we came there. They were too focused on Repair Maintenance which we believed was too costly as it consumes both capital and production time. Our routine maintenance introduction was bringing great results as we were able to discover impending problems before they occur thereby preventing production down time due to total repair. This made us chief engineer favorites and made uncle Ben extremely happy. The director took her being nice to another level one particular day as she took me on tour of PH, though she was supposed to be on leave that day. We drove through the garden city as she took me to a nearby island. I was initially scared of entering into the speed bist but seeing how confident she was, I summoned courage. Getting back from the island we headed into the other parts of the city we could get to. Director: You looked too scared on the boat Me: That's my first time on water Director. Director: You can call me Joy. Me: OH, that's not. . . Director: Call me Joy. You don't have problem, or you don't like me? Me: (Oh oh, which kind like be that one) Why not ma? I've heard you Aunty Joy Joy: Do you have to put Aunty there? Me: You know I'm a Yoruba boy, I dare not call my elder ordinarily. Joy: Am I that old? Me: You are actually young in face and beautiful Joy: (Smiling) Thanks, that means a lot. Me: But you are not as young as your look suggests Joy: You might be right. How are you enjoying the city? Me: I must confess, after these five months, I love this place. Joy: Really? So you'll love to settle here? Me: I'm still thinking about that. I just love the environment. The traffic here is also not as thick compared to Lagos. Joy: You can say that again. As we were talking, she received a call and spoke on the phone for a while. Joy: Will, there will be a little destruption to our tour Me: No problem ma Joy: I need to see my sister. I'll get her some stuffs when we get to mile 1. Me: It's alright ma She described her sister's place and the place was on the same. E street as I he's rented house. She rented the place since her PPA waa not providing her accommodation and the place was too far from her aunts house. Temmy and I do visit her there whenever we are free and she do come to our Lodge also. Ifunaya stays a little far from us and this reduced the frequency at which we can visit her coupled with the fact that she's staying with her fiance's sister. We wouldn't want to give the said sister a reason to worry. We drove into the streets and I decided to say hello to Uche instead of following Aunty Joy down to her sister's place. Joy: The friend live here? Me: Yes, her house is that three stories painted on yellow and green. Joy: Ooo, and I want you to meet my sister Me: There will be another time right? Joy: She's not always at home Me: I can come there when I'm done with my friend Joy: Male or female? Me: (Why that question now) Female, a fellow corps member Joy: Okay, I'll call you when I'm ready to leave Me: Okay ma She dropped me off exactly in front of I he's lodge and I stood there watching where she'll enter to know where to follow when the time comes. I entered into the gate and climbed to the second floor where Uche's self contained room was located. I knocked at the door several times but I was not receiving any response. Her front door curtail drawn inside indicates she's inside as she always pull the curtail outside whenever she's going out. I knocked on the door again and I was about leaving when one of her neighbors who was obviously watching me asked me to push the door inside to confirm if she's really inside. I turned the door handle and push the door inside and it did open. I entered the room and met a guy in his boxers and top underwear, watching movie on his phone with the ear piece plugged into his ear. I guess that's why he couldn't hear me knock. Sighting me, he pull off one of the ear plug to greet me as I take my sit on one of the two chairs in the room. I suspect unease attitude from the dude the moment I sat down, maybe he wasn't expecting me to be comfortable. Me: I'm sorry, I knocked several times but there was no response Guy: I was on ear piece, I'm sorry. Me: No problem, she's not around? Guy: She's in the bathroom. Me: (I promise myself not to ill think. By the way, what's my own) Okay, I'll wait for her. I'm William by the way (I stretched my hand to him and shook each other) Guy: I'm copper Kingsley Me: Oh you are a corps member too Kingsley: Really, which batch? Me: Batch B Kingsley: You redeploy to this state? Me: Not at all, you? Kingsley: No, that's why I'm surprised not to have sighted you before. Not even on camp Me: I used to be on my own on camp, so most people can't know me. We spoke on and talk as if we've always known each other. Uche dud came out of the bathroom not properly covered as she reacted rather shockingly seeing me. I don't know why she was shocked though, maybe it's because she wasn't totally covered. I redirect my gaze to allow her dress properly as the guy gave her a bigger to cover herself. Uche: Will! You didn't tell me you were coming Me: I'm sorry, I didn't know I was coming too. We came to see someone in this vicinity and I decided to say hi to you. Uche: OH, where is Temmy? Me: He'll be in the lodge or at work Uche: So you came alone? Me: To your room? Yes, to this street? No. I came with our director. I'll be leaving now. Uche: Why? Me: I Promised her I won't stay long here. Uche: Oh, and I want to see you o Me: No problem, we can see another time Kingsley: Uche let me go to that place now, I'll come latter in the evening if I'm back early. Uche: Alright, Will this is K... Kingsley: We've done that ourselves. Guy, we'll see later right? Me: Most likely. You take care Bro Kingsley: You too man (He left the room) Uche: You call him Bro? Me: Yes now, all guys are brother. Uche: Alright o, how are you doing? Me: I'm fine. Hrs an handsome dude Uche: Hmm, I know where you are going Me: Uche I know you are dating him, so don't try to play around the truth. Uche: Not entirely though. Are you not the one that caused it? Me: It's my speciality with women, I'm always the one that cause stuffs. Uche: Are you and Funmi back together? Me: We are on good talking terms so we are good friends Uche: Hmm, well truth is I wish I'm the one I'm your heart but I need to confess today. Me: Confess what? Uche: Will, please promise you won't hate me Me: Why will I hate you? Uche: Just promise Me: I'm a Christian, it's a sin to hate other men Uche: Em Em, she asked me to do it. She really begged me and I don't have option Me: I'm listening Uche: I'm the one that told Funmi about you and Ifunaya on camp Me: What?!!! Uche: I'm sorry, she asked me to. |
Sorry for the jamb score, we can protest it. Lols. Nice one |
HolyTitus:Lols you hate Funmi that much? Everybody @realchest is here with popcorn |
EPISODE SEVENTEEN MFYL PR2 The night was an emotional one especially for me. Funmi insisted on sleeping where I slept and was on me all over the night even though I couldn't sleep throughout the night with different thoughts running through my mind. "She claimed to love me and said she's sorry but would she have done or say that if I hadn't come to Lagos.? Would she have being this remorseful and emotional on me if she had not caught Fred going after her cousin? I think it's better I let her go because I can't say if I know her anymore. I felt she's been hiding her true self before now but she couldn't hide it any longer ". I laid her off on the mattress and had my bath as early as 4am. I was so eager to leave. I went to the car, dust her and prepare her for the journey ahead. I sat down right in the car waiting for Temmy to be ready. While waiting, I doze off in the car obviously because I did not sleep throughout the night. I was woken up NY Funmi Funmi: Did you sleep at all? Me: Not really Funmi: Why? Me: I had a lot going through my mind. I'll sleep when I get home. How was your night? Funmi: It’s was good. It's been long I had that kind of sleep Me: That's good. Try to be having more of it from now on Funmi: It's not possible. I can only have it with you Me: Hmm, I don't think so. You'll have a better one without me Funmi: I don't want to have a better one Will. Me: We'll, it is well. I don't know what to say to that Funmi: Forgive me and let's start all over Me: I've forgiven you long time ago. Starting all over is not a bad idea, at least I'll get to know you. Funmi: Common Will, I'm still the same Funmi your perfect angel Me: Yes, you are my angel. But I'm not sure I know you anymore Funmi: I'm still the same Will. Me: I think there is time to know that for sure As we were still talking, Temmy came over and we were ready to move. Funmi: Won't you guys eat before you leave? Temmy: We'll still be stopping by in Ibadan to see how mum is doing. It's better we leave now. Sam: I think we'll talk on phone now Temmy: Sure. Mary I get your contact from Sam when you get your phone back. Mary: I'll send you message on WhatsApp. Uncle Will is still not happy. Me: I'm happy Mary, how was your night? Mary: Great, but you don't look happy Temmy: I don't think he had proper sleep. Mary: Uncle Will, the next time I see you please be happy o. (I smiled back at her) Funmi: Temmy please don't forget our. . . . Temmy: Count on it Sis. Funmi: Thanks She hugged me from the side right inside the car and gave me a peck very close to my mouth. "I'll call you my love" She whispered into my ear as Temmy drove us off. I remembered Uche asked me to call her that morning but I refused to call her because she might try to delay us from moving that morning. Temmy: What's up with you and Funmi now? Me: Nothing is up Bro. But I'm relieved now Temmy: Meaning you've resolved the issue? Me: Common Temmy, stop acting like you don't know the drill. I know you guys spoke and she'll have told you everything. Temmy: Yeah, but I need to hear it from you. Me: Bottom line is we remained separated and I prefer it like that Temmy: You do? Me: Sure, I'm only following her tracks. Leave that matter Bro. How far with Rachael? Temmy: She'll be in Lagos by Monday Me: OH oh, we'll have to come back to Lagos then Temmy: No, we need to head back to PH. Remember we don't have permission to travel. Me: Uncle Ben said we can stay as long as we want. You don't want to see her? Temmy: We've agreed she'll come to PH Me: From Jos? Temmy: Yeah, she wanted to see how PH look like. Me: Hmm, well that's cool We got to Ibadan and checked on my biological mother. I was so happy she's recovering very well. She was even trying to cook us food but we declined. I was able to get her beverages and other stuffs even though she claimed she has not touched most of the one I bought earlier. We did not meet her husband at home still and nobody talked about it for the period we were there. We met Aramide and Vera ready to leave for school as Aramide insisted we take them to school first, even though it will increase our journey duration by two hours. I tried to convince her otherwise but she insisted she has something to discuss with me. Meanwhile, Uche has been calling me since we got to Ibadan but I was ignoring her calls. My plan was to call her back when I get back home. We succumbed to Aramide's pressure and took them to school first before we proceed down home. She claimed they have something doing in school even though other faculties were out of session. Aramide: So how was Lagos? Me: Lagos was great Aramide: I know, I mean how was Funmi Me: She's doing great Aramide: You mean you are fine now? Me: We are both fine on our own Aramide: Temmy what is he saying. Temmy: Hmm, in summary they are not back together. Aramide: What happened? She's really engaged? Me: OH you were thinking I made that up Aramide: I still don't believe it Temmy: It was a fling caused by their distance and she's done with the guy. Aramide: So she indeed cheated Me: No she did not, she had already broken up with me then Aramide: I'm really surprise about this Temmy: Aramide, it was a fling and she's sorry Aramide: Sorry is not just enough and how did you know she is Temmy: She told me and begged my guy too, but he's still hurt Me: I'm not hurt bro Temmy: Keep living in denial Aramide: So she really begged you and wanted you back? Me: Yeah she did but I'm not buying it. Aramide: Why? Me: Common Somebody that change in just three weeks will do the unthinkable in eleven months Aramide: You can't say that. I'm sure she has learnt her lesson. You really can't blame her though Me: No, I'm not blaming her, I'm blaming myself for being so gullible, Aramide: No, that's not what I meant. You once told me you are her first love, which means babe has never explore before meeting you. Me: Now she has more room to explore and I'm wishing her fast and stable network Aramide: Really Will, why are you like this? You are comparing yourself who has been in this relationship game for a longer period of time with her an obvious novice. Temmy: That's true, Will the tiger. Me: You are saying it as if I was bad Temmy: No you were not, only experienced Me: Which experience, I'm a novice Temmy: You want me to open your profile here? Me: We are the same in that. What's it with Aramide and Funmi self? She bribed you? Aramide: I just like her and my spirit settles with her. As we were talking, I received a call from Uche again but I ignored it. Aramide snatched the phone from me thinking the call was from Funmi only to find Uche on the call log. Aramide: So it's because of Uche you are neglecting Funmi. Me:Uche ke! She's just a friend Aramide: You better let her know that before you break her heart. I have a feeling she's waiting for you to ask her out. Me: Common Uche and I have discussed that. See, I'm no more interested in anything relationship again. I want to focus on my carrier first. Aramide: The way I see it, your carrier is settled. I'm sure your adopted guardian will never allow you to be jobless. Me: That reminds me. I've decided to marry his daughter. I'll meet her after service year. Aramide: Whose daughter? Temmy who is he talking about? Temmy: He has one imaginary fiancee. She's Daddy Orire's daughter. They've spoke once but never met. Aramide: And that's the person you want to marry? Me: There will be less drama with her. Aramide: I won't take it, you are marrying Funmi Me: You have my mum to contend with then Aramide: Mum support it too? Temmy: She's the architect Aramide: We'll find a way around it. You are marrying Funmi Me: There is something with you and Funmi We dropped them off at school and was able to get home before evening. We met a rather august visitor at home, Daddy Orire. He was so happy to see me as he greeted me like a loving Dad. Orire: Why didn't you tell me you were going to Lagos? Me: We didn't know we'll get to Lagos sir and you were not around when I came back. Orire: Yeah, I was in Lagos that day. If you had told me, I would have link you and my daughter up. It's time you kids meet each other. Hope you do call each other on phone? Me: (I don't even have her number) We'll talk sir. Orire: Or you don't have her number? Me: I... Orire: Don't worry I'll make sure you kids chat. Hope you like your apartment in PH? Me: Very well sir Orire: Don't be shy with Ben o, ask him anything. He's a very nice person. Me:Thank you sir Orire: Obtain your international passport, I'll be going on a trip next year, just after your services must have ended. I want you and Lola to go with me. We'll be touring Europe. |

EPISODE SIXTEEN MFYL PR2 Funmi: You don't understand Will, I've lost my... Will I've lost to him my... Me: Don't bother saying it. Just be quiet now, we'll talk about everything later. In my heart of heart I hoped she wasn't talking of her virginity. Not that I owned it or something but it might mean the real end to everything we've had. I personally wasn't looking for a virgin lady to marry, all I wanted was honesty. If I hardly kiss her in order not to create a situation where she'll lose her virginity to me in an in appropriate time, respecting her decision to be intact till marriage but she eventually lose it to a random guy? Then I deserved to leave her happily. Even though I was eager to know what happened, I insisted she talk not, until the atmosphere is lively, if it'll be. I changed the whole story and start making the kind of jokes I knew she likes as she laughs on even though I wasn't happy within. We left the room and joined the others in the sitting room as they were amazed to see her smiling. Mary: Wao! Bros are you a magician? Sam: Mary, you obviously don't know who he is. Mary: I'll like to know because what he just did is a miracle. Nobody consoles her when she's crying. Sam: Well, he's Bros Will, sister will explain the remaining to you. Funmi got separated from me as she went through dinning into the kitchen, I guessed, as Temmy and Sam who were already eating, compelled me to eat. Temmy: I don't understand you really. The last time you ate was very early this morning and it was even snacks. Sam: And you did not take your malt the other time before the whole place turned upside down. Me: Sincerely I'm okay. I just don't feel like taking anything again. Mary: Maybe we should apply some logic here. Sam: What logic is that? Mary: If brother Will is the solution to sister Funmi then Sister Funmi is the solution to brother Will, just maybe. Temmy: Gbam! Sam: On point Mary: Let me tell her he's not eating. As she was about to leave the sitting room, Funmi came with a tray of food she obviously prepared for me. Sighting the meal I got my appetite back and was ready to eat with my tongue already aspiring but the stubborn mind I've got insisted on No. Funmi: (Sitting by my side and speaking in such a manner that only me could hear her) Why won't you eat? This is your favorite. Me: I know, thanks really, I just don't feel like eating Funmi: Please, I've been longing for this for the past three weeks. Me: Really? (I honestly don't believe that at all) Funmi: Yes. I know you are angry with me and you your reasons. I am angry with you too and I have my reasons but let's eat this together. It's what will make me happy. Me: Alright, I'll eat it if it'll make you happy. Funmi: Thanks We both ate the food as others were laughing with Mary claiming her logic was correct. I did enjoy the food though and I sincerely missed eating with her. The questions that kept bordering my heart throughout the meal was what she lost to the guy and her reason for being angry at me. During the meal, Fred did call her again but she ignored it and hissed but that wasn't going to change how I felt about the whole stuff. After the meal, while others were watching movies, we excused ourselves outside the sitting room and sat on chairs at a corner close to where my car was parked. Funni: So how was camp? Me: I'm indifferent about it, how was yours? Funmi: It’s was fine Me: Good. So why did you break up with me? Funmi: Wao! Just like that? You wee not this blunt before, what happened? Me: I never imagine you could break up with me before, so I guess it change a lot about my orientation. Funmi: Hmm, seriously I never thought we'll be having this conversation. I thought I had moved on from you, but I've obviously not. Me: Move on from me when I'm not the one that broke up. You were the one that broke up even though I rejected it remember? Why did you? On phone for that matter? Funmi: You gave me no option Will! Me: No Funmi, you had plenty options but you decided to leave me for another guy. Funmi: I did not leave you for anybody Me: Really, so what did you left me for? Funmi: I left you for your new girlfriends Me: That's new! Girlfriends? Funmi: Yes! Two for that matter Me: Can I know them? Funmi: They are your girlfriend and you know them, so don't play dumb with me. Me: I have friends and you know them, but girlfriends? You'll have to tell me who they are, because that's strange to me. Funmi: Sincerely I never expected you will lie like this. That alone pissed me totally off. What do you take me for, a fool? Me: It's better you tell me who they are, accusing me without evidence is more like you are trying to create something where there is none. Funmi: Really? I'm creating something? Am I the one that created Ifunaya? Or am I that created. . . (she stopped before she could mention the other name) the other girl? Me: Hmm, firstly Ifunaya is a mere friend. Yes we were close on camp but that was it. She was even engaged for marriage, imagine that. Funmi: If she's just a friend, why was it that you never made mention of her to me throughout? Me: Really Funmi, you expect me to tell you I have a female friend so that you can start thinking otherwise? Funmi: You know I will think otherwise yet you got close to them. Me: I don't know what they told you but she was just a friend and that's all. By the way, who's the second girl? Funmi: Will you know her Me: No problem, but who was the good for nothing personality feeding you with false information? Funmi: What's your own with that? Is the person lying? Me: Yes the fellow is lying and I want to know the person. Let whoever it is bring out the proof.. Funmi: You are not remorse or sorry about it at all Me: I did not do anything wrong, why would I be remorse? I am sorry though; I am sorry you chose to believe a stranger over me without a proof and I am sorry you lost something to your new man. What's it you lost by the way? Funmi: That's mine to tell, you can't force me to Me: Of course I can't force you. I don't think this conversation is leading anywhere. Maybe we should just end the conversation here. Funmi: No, not yet. I didn't lose anything to him. Me: You were the one that said you did Funmi: Yeah, I lost my dignity to him and almost lost my virginity to him too. Me: Hmm, not that I have right over it anyway Funmi: Of course you don't Me: So why are you telling me? Funmi: Because I'm sorry Me: You are confusing me. Sorry about what? It's yours to lose if you decided to and you don't have to be sorry about it. Funmi: No, not about it, I'm sorry about everything Me: Hmm, I'm sorry too. Funmi: Really? I think we should just forgive each other and amend our relationship. Me: I have nothing to be forgiven for, except that I love you. I love you so much I did not have peace since you broke up. I was thinking I pushed you away but now I'm relieved. I think I can have peace now. Funmi: Relieved about what? Me: I'm relieved I wasn't the one that pushed you away. You decided to dump my sorry ass for a new guy. I heard you are engaged Funmi: Who told you that? Me: Though you are not putting on the diamond ring, what you save his number with speaks volume. Common Funmi, just three weeks! You have totally changed, now you drink and the way you are responding is even amazing. Maybe I was wrong about you. Funmi: Wrong about what? Me: Funmi, every time I think about my future you are always there. Whenever I try to think about my future without you, it all look vague and vacuumed. I saw you birthing all my children. I saw us living happily together, but that's all but a dream and I think I'm awake now. Funmi: So what are you saying? Me: I'm saying nothing; I'm only going to respect your decision to let go of me. Funmi: I'm sorry I did that, I was dumb and dillusioned Will, I'm really sorry. Me: I know you are sorry but no, you are not dumbed and dillusioned. If you can change like this in three weeks, then I'm not sure what will happen fur the remaining days of our service year. Funmi: You caused almost everything you know. If you had not insisted on going to PH this wouldn't have happen. Me: What happened to you trying to redeploy to PH too, you never even mentioned it as an option. Anyway, I accept I'm the cause of everything and I'm sorry about it. I wish you best with him. Funmi: I'm no more with him Me: But he's still with you. He influenced you in three weeks, he's got eleven months this time around. I want you to know I still love you very much and I'll always be and I hope we can be good friends later. Funmi: Please Will, let's resolve this Me: Thanks for the meal, we'll be leaving very early tomorrow morning. Funmi: Please sweetheart, let's talk it through, don't leave yet. Me: Baby there is nothing more to say. Remember you don't need my permission and I don't need yours. I love you still. Be good and have a good night. Funmi: I see you are paying me back. I love you Will and will always. I will never give up on us, I promise you that. She came closer, hugged me and was not letting go until we almost slept there together in the veranda. |

EPISODE FIFTEEN MFYL PR2 Temmy, Sam and I looked at each other surprised by the gut and the audacity he has to come and look for her. At that point I felt like leaving that environment but I don't know where to. I tried as much as possible to calm myself down not to create a scene I'll not be able to handle as Temmy placed his his hands on my lap. Not that I was going to fight, but I was obviously getting to the edge of losing control. I wonder how he misses Funmi at home since that's where she left for. I got lost in thought and could not hear anything they all were saying until Sam's question to Fred brought me back. Sam: Who did you say directed you to this place? Fres: Most times when I drop her off, she enters that green house so I guessed that's her place but she's with her friend here Sam: What's her name? Fred: Her name is Blessing Sam: Blessing? Fred: Yes, that's what I call her Sam: You don't know another name she answers, maybe she's not been called blessing at home Fred: I really don't know He started to stagger and was almost falling down before one of the guys that came with him held him. Guy: I told you not to leave the hospital, but you won't listen. Please let's go back there before you collapse for real. Fred: (Speaking rather with pain) My mission here is not completed menh! Guy: Common! We can always come back for her when you are okay. At least we know her house now. Fred: But the name? Guy: We'll get that later Sam: I thought you said she's blessing? Fred: No, that's her friends name Sam: Nobody answers Blessing here, I think you are in the wrong compound. Guy: Guy don't mind him, nobody bears Blessing and the lady she's looking for is not her girlfriend yet. The lady has been ignoring him, yet he wants to kill himself because of her. (facing Fred) let's go back to the hospital before you collapse here man! Sam: The intended girlfriend lives here right? Guy: Yes, we've traced her here before. Sam's countenance suddenly changed as it was obvious the lady they were talking about was her sister. I guess he was furious because the girl just wrote her SSCE exams and he wasn't expecting such things for her at that period. As the guy was escorting Fred out of the compound, Funmi and Sam's sister entered into the compound as Sam's sister questioned their presence in annoyance. Girl: What are these guys doing here? Funmi: Mary you know them? Mary: That's the guy (pointing to Fred) I told you has been giving me problem since. He stopped filling me for some weeks but has resumed since day before yesterday. Funmi: You mean Fred? Mary: His name is Fred? Funmi looked at Fred with am accusatory expression and her countenance changed totally as she left them there and entered into the house while Mary followed her in. Sam stylishly pushed Fred and his friends out of the compound as he shut the gate behind them. Sam: Did you see what just happened? Temmy: He came for your sister even though he's still weak, it must be love. Sam: Jokes apart bros, this guy is trying to date two cousins at the same time. Temmy: I don't blame him, they are both beautiful, who doesn't like good thing Sam: Bros Temmy stop joking about this now, this is serious. I was suspecting foul play when he said a girl from the green house because there is no girl in that house. Temmy: Really? Sam: In fact nobody inhabit that house yet. It was completed not long ago and they've not rented it out. Temmy: Maybe they've rented it out while you were in school. Sam: Taa! I know the owner very well and we still spoke of recent. The house is still free. Damn, this guy is something else. Me: Sam please where do we sleep? Sam: You want to sleep by this time? Temmy: What's wrong with you? Me: I just feel like sleeping. I'm tired. Sam: But you've not eaten anything Me: I'm okay, I can't eat anything again. Sam: Alright, you'll be sleeping in my room. Let me go and prepare the place (He left) Temmy: Will what's going on? Me: What do you think Temmy? Coming to Lagos was a gross mistake. Temmy: No, it's better you see everything by yourself than be guessing Me: Actually in this case, I would have preferred not to see. Temmy: What did she told you earlier? Me: She said we'll talk later this evening but I'm not sure I want to do that again. Temmy: Common talk to her and hear her out Me: I don't think she's trying to explain anything, she just want to tell me her stand. Temmy: That's wouldn't be bad too, at least you'll be sure and can move on from there. Me: You are right about that. As Temmy and I were conversing, I received a call from Uche. I was reluctant to pick it because I'm likely going to lie that we are at and I don't want to do that but I eventually pick. Me: Hello Uche Uche: Will, why didn't you call me when you got home? Me: Because we haven't Uche: Really? Why, where are you? Me: At a friend's place Uche: I don't know you have friend in Lagos, I thought Temmy is your only friend. Me: You are not far from the truth, but I still got others. Uche: Where exactly are you? Me: You want to come Uche: I can if you want me to Me: Common Uche, we'll meet in PH Mary called on Sam to attend to something and Uche her voice over the phone Uche: Who's that? Me: Who's what? Uche: I heard a female voice, are you in an Hotel? Me: (Smiles) No Uche Uche: I don't trust you Me: Hmm, it's okay Uche, I've got to go now. Uche: To meet her right? Me: To meet who? Uche: That girl now Me: I'm not in the mood Uche, can we talk later? Uche: when are you leaving tomorrow? Me: Very early Uche: Okay I'll call you Me: Alright, take care of yourself Uche: Bye sweetheart Why I was still on call, Sam called Temmy inside and I was left outside. After dropping the call, I decided to take a nap as I was indeed feeling sleepy that moment. I went into the car and sat at the drivers sit resting my head on the chair's shoulder since the back sit was still wet. I was already dozing off when Temmy cane waking me up. Temmy: Guy wake up, won't you eat before you sleep? Me: I'm okay Bro, I just want to sleep Temmy: I thought you said you are having a chat with Funmi this evening? Me: Maybe later, I want to sleep now Temmy: Common guy, she's been crying since she entered Me: Crying? Why is she crying? Temmy: She won't talk to any of us but I think she'll talk to you. Me: I'll rather not see her cry. Temmy: Don't be like that, go and talk to her. Me: (Sighs) Alright where is she? Temmy: She's in Mary's room. She was still there sobbing, buried her head on her laps as she sat on the mattress. This posture reminds me of the first day I met her in the MKO ring while in school. She was crying that day also only this time around she wasn't bleeding and I'm no more a stranger. She continued to sob obviously unaware of my presence as I stood there looking at her not knowing what to do. Here we are playing a scene that brought us together all over again. One thing I confirmed while standing and looking at her was that I still love her in all totality. The more I look at her the more I get emotional. I moved closer to her, sat beside her on the mattress while contemplating if I should touch her or not. While I was still contemplating, her phone rang and the name displayed was "Fred Love" and it come with a special ring tone of Nelly's "Angel". As the phone rings on, she cry the more not lifting her head. The phrase "Fred Love" actually withered my arms temporarily as I was thinking if I'm in the right place. Some minutes later after the call, a message entered her phone and I guessed it's from Fred as the message content displayed on a slide manner at the notification bar of her Android phone. I was able to read "baby I'm sorry, it's not what you think. Call me". I decided to stand up and leave the room but responding to the other voice on my head I draw closer to her and loft her head up. She stopped crying momentarily when she discovered I was the one. I pulled out my face trowel and mop off the tears on her eye but I've not returned the trowel when she started to cry again. I drew her to me, hugged her, pressed her head on my chest while I use my hand to dress her hair downward periodically. She surprisingly wrapped her arms around me so tight as if she didn't want me to leave. In my confused state, not knowing our stand point, I still felt I should make her happy. Me: It's okay dear, please stop crying, I'm here now. (she cries the more). If you won't stop crying I'll have to leave, don't forget I don't have extra cloth here. (She released her grab and forced a smile) Funmi: Will I'm sorry Me: We'll talk about it later, I just need you to be happy now. Funmi: You don't understand Will, I've lost my... Will I've lost to him my. . . |
