EPISODE THIRTY-SEVEN MFYL PR2

What will be they say will always be. How it will be is what we don't know. To think Funmi is Daddy Orire's daughter whom I've always wanted to meet is something, as fate, parent, love and what have you was always pitching us together. The circumstances at which we met, our separation, our challenges and our differences only form a part of the sweet journey we are about starting soon. All I pray for is to get my leg back. I want to be on my feet again, I believe if i could walk, all other things will be settled.

Horses will have a smooth ride in the mind of my mum and Daddy Orire at this discovery, as they both show their happiness while laughing about how they had planned to indirectly forced us to marry each other. The question was, would I still have like Funmi if we met as a virtue of our parent's match-making us? I honestly don't know the answer to that but I think this is a match made from heaven.

Funmi : But Dad, where did you get the name Orire from?

Orire: It was a nickname given to me by my best friend Ben, when he was starting the company. He claimed I helped him a lot and that means"good fortune" (Orire) to him. We decided ill be using that name here so that the workers here won't know I'm one of the shareholders .

Me: It would have been obvious because your name is part of the company's trademark.

Orire: Yeah, Ben insisted he wanted my name to appear on the company's name, which is why he put it there. Not that I have up to half of the shares, he virtually owns everything, he only gave me the shares I have so I could work for the company, he never wanted me to leave him.

Funmi: Wao! So uncle Ben is the friend you always talk about.

Orire: More than friend, more like brothers. We are closer than Yemi and Temiloluwa

Mum: I doubt the that

Orire: You think they are closer than we do?

Mum: Temiloluwa and Opeyemi has been friends even before they could pronounce each other's name. They were only separated for like a year throughout their life so far

Temmy: Plus four months. (we all Laughed) He went into coma without me

Me: I beg don't do your own o(we all laughed again)

Funmi: Honestly my first dear about Will was Temmy

Temmy: Testimony time, when did I become fear?

Funmi: To say the truth, I'm always jealous of him. It's like I'm competing with Temmy.

Rachael: That makes us two, they were too close I used to think whatever Temmy says is a product of their agreement.

Orire: As, okay I give up (we all laughed)

Aramide: Temmy is Will's real twin, I'm just the biological one.

Me: Even you?

Aramide: I feel jealous about them too

Dan: Seems I'm going to join this gang

Joy: We were supposed to take only Will for NYSC but he won't stay until we took Temmy too. I think twice before buying things for Will, because he'll surely ask for Temmy's own, I'll be like, what? You guys ain't kid anymore (we all laughed)

Orire: Guess they are indeed twin, it's good to have somebody of same mind to walk with in life. Friends are important to us. Some are closer than a brother can be. God bless you kids.

Me: Amen sir, have you met Aramide? My twin sister

Orire: Another friend?

Me: My real twin sister

Orire: You are a twin? Nobody ever told me that, not even Ben

Joy: He doesn't know too, he got to know on their birthday. The confusion and disbelief was what led to everything that happened.

Orire: Wao! How are you dear?

Aramide: I'm fine sir

Orire: And Ben is saying he doesn't have children, he has three grown up kids.

Debby: I'm the last born (we all laughed)

Orire: This is sincerely good, but where have you been all these while?

We narrated to him how the story goes as all laughed along. Uncle Ben was still sleeping all these while, I felt that's his way of overcoming shock.

I felt it was not good that none of us was checking on Uche, so I persuaded others to visit her.

Me: Guys I might be sounding weird but we need to check on Uche

Debby: You are indeed weird. No way! Police will check on her

Me: She's going to be lonely over there, she might not have eaten self

Debby: She'll have eaten because it's part of her bill paid for.

Me: Yeah, but seeing people around her will lift her spirit.

Aramide: Ah ah! Will what is it now?

Temmy: I agree with Will, we should visit her.

Rachael: That's obvious now, you don't have to say it.

Dan: I support Will's notion too

Sewa: Eventually you've joined bad gang (we all laughed)

Joy: Will's heart is one in a million, I've never met his kind of heart before.

Mum: Opeyemi is right, we can't just leave her like that. She has nobody here except us, at least she's harmless to us now.

Joy: Will obviously got that heart from you.

We all agreed to visit Uche I'm the hospital that evening and she was sincerely happy to see us. She kept saying sorry to me asking Funmi also to forgive her. I told her she's forgiven and ask her to be well soon. We also promised to visit her often till she's discharged.

Victoria on the other hand has left the hospital and the town I guessed, since uncle Ben has decided to let her go. Her mission here failed so I believe she's on a mission to cause damage somewhere else. I forgive her too because I have other better things to occupy my heart with than harboring hatred for somebody.

After leaving the hospital, we dropped off the ladies at our home and discovered uncle Ben has woken up. He was even eating the time we got there. Mum insisted they all pass the night at our house since the following day happened to be a Saturday. We don't have many rooms I'm our house, Dan and I therefore decided to sleep over at Temmy's side while Rachael stays with the girls at our side.

Later in the evening, we decided to watch a Friday night match in an hotel close to Temmy's side. We met too many people at the viewing center located in the hotel's premises so we decided to join the guts playing table tennis at the pool side. We bought some suya as Dan who is good in ping-pong joined them to play. Temmy and I started having jokes with the guys and ladies sitting next to our table. The jokes turned into a horse play as everybody started chasing each other around with empty plastic water bottles. I couldn't join them even though I wanted to as the wheel chair I'm on restricted my movement.

The play got so thick I could not even sight Temmy for more than 10min. One of the ladies have her purse fell down by the pool side while she was chasing after someone and I felt somebody might kick it inside the pool unknowingly and that might damaged the purse contents. I wheeled closer to the purse and picked it up. As I face back to get to my initial position, one of the ladies chasing a guy pushed me and I landed in the pool with the wheel chair. The music were too loud so nobody noticed I'm already I'm the water. I went down to the bottom of the pool, separated from the wheel chair. The pool wasn't too deep so I struggled to lift myself while seizing my breath do I'll not inhale water instead of air. The water body helped me as I was able to stand I'm the pool on my two feet.

Yes I stood on my feet! I started walking in the pool forcing myself against the pressure of the water. I so much enjoy walking even if it's I'm water that I remained there. Dan who had picked the wheel chair out was watching me in amazement as the attention of everybody was drawn to a guy on wheel chair walking on the pool.

After walking for a while I started getting tired that I couldn't move again. Sam sensed it and came over to pull me out as another guy joined him to put me back on the wet wheel but I refused. I wasn't going back on the wheel, I insisted on sitting on a plastic chair.

After regaining my strength, I tried to stand up holding the back side of the chair but almost fell down if not for Dan that was quick to get hold of me. Since I refused to use the wheel, I put my arms across both Dan and Temmy's shoulders as they helped me to the car. I stepped along as we walk even though they've carried most part of my body, it was still worthy that I walked.

After getting back to Temmy's side, he went to our place to get the crutches that was given to me by the doctor. I tried using the crutches that evening but I fell down feeling pain at the lower part of my back. I put a call through to the doctor to tell him about the development. It was then I realized my phone has been soaked while I was in the pool and won't come up. Calling the doctor on Temmy's line he said what I experienced is possible, that it has to do with the adrenaline that I generated during my survival attempt in the pool. He asked me to take it step by step and not to rush it. He said the pain I felt was as a result of the sudden strain that I subject the bones and the cartilages to. According to him, it has been redundant for over four months, it will definitely react to any sudden change. He advised I start moving it little by little, he said I could be using the pool since water body will form a support for my body.

We decided we'll go to the pool the following morning so I could try again. Very early in the morning, we did went there as Temmy and Dan joined me in the pool this time. I was able to stand, walk some length I'm the pool before I came out and tried the crutches. This time I was able to use the crutches as support with negligible pain at the back.

After we were done with breakfast, Rachael called Temmy that I should come over. Apparently they've tried my number but wasn't going because I'm now phone less. We went to our house and met what looks more like a crusader. The pastor was firing and hammering the prayer points while prophesying in between.

We initially joined them but I excused myself out when I started feeling stressed at the back. I saw my biological mother and her husband were the one that came with the pastor as earlier said by my biological mother. Vera and praise were also there as it was like a whole family affair. Present were all ladies including Uncle Ben, Daddy Orire and my mum. I honestly don't know why the prayers was that much.

While sitting outside, Aramide came to me

Aramide: You did not join the prayers and you are not on wheels

Me: I was there but I got tired, the prayer is too long for me.

Aramide: Why are you not on wheels?

Me: Because I can now walk on crutches.

Aramide: Really? That's great! Good news, let me tell Funmi.

Me: No, I'll tell her myself. Let's just be done with this their palava

Aramide: Do you trust the man?

Me: Not at all, I'm only trying to bank on mother's trust for him.

Aramide: He's been begging me like a witch since they came. He almost prostrate self.

Me: Really? What then brought about the revival prayers?

Aramide: The pastor said only prayers could heal the wounds on ground

Me: He's right though

Vera and Praise came out of the sitting room as Praise jumped on me. They claimed the prayers were over and the discussion has started. Vera said the pastor is on a sermon she's sure will be very long.

Me: Sermon? Are we having a service?

Aramide: You've obviously never been to mother's church before (Funmi dashed out from the sitting room)

Funmi: Will, you guys need to see this!

We entered into the sitting room only to meet my biological mother kneeling in front of Uncle Ben who has his hands on his head, both of them crying.

Ben: Why did you do that to me? After all I did for you then. I left you enough money but you betrayed me.

Mother: Please forgive me, I'm rally sorry. I was young and stupid.

Ben: I've forgiven you, at least you have your husband here. Stand up, it's disrespectful to your husband.

Mother: There is something you need to know before I stand. I was pregnant for you then, but I never told you.

Ben: What? And why are you telling me now?

Mother: Because these are your twins (pointing to us while crying) Aramide and Opeyemi

EPISODE THIRTY-SIX MFYL PR2

I was really happy to see Daddy Orire but why was he been attacked? I don't understand his importance in all this. Maybe it's to get to Uncle Ben.

Me: I'm fine sir. How was your tour?

Orire: It was great, I wish you were there. Don't worry we'll create another time with you and my daughter.

My mum and I looked at each other, how do we yell him I'm in love with another person and won't marry his daughter? I immediately changed the subject so we won't talk about he daughter again

Me: You said you were attacked, by who?

Orire: I'm not sure yet, but I'm sure it has to do with the company. Let me quickly call Ben to come over here.

He put a call through to Uncle Ben to come over to our place.

Orire: He's coming with his wife

Me: Aunty Joy. So you have any suspect concerning your attack?

Orire: I still can't figure it out, that's why I need to talk to Ben.

Me: They took your phones, don't you think it's a mere robbery?

Orire: It would have been if they did not try to leave with me

Me: They tried to kidnap you?

Orire: Yeah

Me: How do they know you'll be around today?

Orire: That's why I need to see Ben, he's the only one I told and your mother

Me: Are you suggesting might know about it?

Orire: No, some very close to him he could have told

Me: When exactly did you tell him?

Orire: Last two weeks or so

Me: He can't be the one you spoke with. He was in prison then

Orire: Prison?

Me: Yeah, he was arrested and charged for attempting to murder me

Orire: Really? Who was behind the charges?

Me: According to Aunty Joy, it's Dr Samanja

Orire: Samanja?

He stood up and thought for a moment as he walks up and down the sitting room. Before he could make any statement, Uncle Ben and Aunty Joy came in. After embracing each other, Aunty Joy sat by my side as they try to unfold the kidnap attempt riddle.

Ben: Hope your are Okay my friend? I've tried your number severally but was off. Samanja told me this afternoon that you were attacked while coming back

Orire: How did he know?

Ben: That's true, how did he know? You did not tell him?

Orire: My phone was taken away, I've not call anybody that I'm here, save you

Joy: Honey, you always trust Samanja, even after I told you he was the one sponsoring your charges, you still don't believe

Ben: He is a friend, a good one at that. He has done me nothing but good which is why he's directing one major arm of our company. If not for him and my sister, we might only be having the juice arm of the company while the food arm would have eroded away.

Orire: You are right, he has done a great job in that sector but currently I think he wants every you've got. All of your shares

Ben: We've discussed about that and it's been settled. I've promised him other stuffs in place of the shares.

Joy: Why then did he ask that lady and the hotel manager to testify against you, promising them money?

Ben: That's not true

Joy: The lady said it herself

Ben: You can't believe a criminal over a friend.

Joy: Yeah, a criminal that you released twice now

Me: Victoria has been freed?

Joy: Ask your uncle

Ben: Cool down, she's going to implicate Samanja, and I can't let that happen

Joy: There is something you are not telling us about you and Samanja, I believe

Ben: There is nothing

Me: You just free the person that tried to kill me?

Orire: She's the one?

Me: Yes! She drugged me, raped me and...

Ben: She wasn't the one that tried to kill you, she saved you

Me: Which means you know the person that tried to kill me right?

Ben: No Will, I don't but she's isn't the one

Me: Wao! I'm sorry sir but why are you here? You should leave sir (I tried to wheel out of the sitting room)

Ben: Wait Will! Samanja is going to marry my sister. I can't implicate him but Victoria us planning to.

Orire: I know it!

Joy: They are dating? What happened to her marriage?

Ben: It crashed. They've divorced since last year, same as Samanja

Me: So because of your intending in law, you are risking my life?

Ben: Samanja has nothing to do with that

Me: Really? He was the one that shot me!

Ben/Joy/Orire/Mum: What?

Joy: Why didn't you say this before?

Ben: Are you being serious?

Me: He first spoke to me while I was covered with hood and said he has something to get from you and later came back with gun, after shooting Victoria

Ben: Oh my God!

Me: Victoria even begged him not to shoot me but did anyway. You were the next on line.

Ben: He wanted to kill me too?

Joy: By tying Will's murder on you, he'll kill both of you without any trace to him.

Ben: I still don't get it, why trying to kill Will to get to me?

Joy: Because you made him your heir. Samanja knows he'll be an obstacle to him.

Uncle Ben started feeling hear, he sat down, stood up, sat back down and continued like that for almost 10min as Daddy Orire and Aunty Joy try to calm him down

Ben: I can't believe I trusted that man. He knows virtually everything about me and now he wants to marry my own sister. How do I tell my sister she's dating a criminal?

Orire: We just have to tell her

Ben: You don't understand! My sister has never known love, she was in an abusive marriage. She started been happy she met Samanja. This might destroy her emotionally, damn!

Me: You love your sister that much?

Ben: She's my only blood left alive. My only sister, of course I love her.

Orire: I understand you Ben

Ben: No you don't! You have a child, I don't. She's the only one that stayed with me during the hard times, before Joy came into my life. I can't just allow things to happen to her, I need to protect her

Joy: Cool down honey, you'll protect her but you can't protect her while you are dead!
Ben: I know dear, which is why I'm running crazy right now.

Me: Your sister don't like me, she did not accept me as her nephew. Do you think she loves you the way you love her?

Ben: (he came over to hold my hands) Will, forget about what happened that day. It was my fault not hers. She's going to care and love you. She's like a mother to you.

Me: Then why did she wanted me dead?

Ben: What are you talking about?

Joy: You only met her on your birthday Will, how could she possibly try to kill you?

Me: (smiles)

Orire: You need to talk Yemi, that's a huge allegation

Me: Is Uncle Ben ready for the truth?

Ben: I've heard worse, spit it out

Me: She was with Samanja that night

All: What?

Me: While Samanja was hesitant in shooting me, she was the one that gave him the order to shoot.

Orire: As requested you very sure about this?

Me: (chucks) Her word was "if you don't kill him, he'll take everything"

Ben: Oh my my my... (he collapsed)

Daddy Orire rushed him and lay him on the long cushion chair in the sitting room. He was like that for almost 20min while we all discussed the scenarios. He later asked for water and said he'll like to sleep instead of going to the hospital. He was directed to my room where he slept for a very long period.

Orire: Opeyemi you've gone through a lot, you are a real fighter

Joy: With a kind heart, I wish he's my son

Mum: Too late (they all laugh)

Orire: You are lucky to have him as son, you've done a great job on him.

Mum: Thank you, you've really tried for us. I'm not sure I've ever say thank you.

Orire: Opeyemi you have to take care of your Uncle. He's now your father, majority of the money I sent you in school were from him. He bought you the car

Me: I know that now, I just hope he'll be fine

Orire: He'll be, he's very strong. You took after him in that. He has passed through worse situations

Joy: This is new for him, he has been passing through physical situations, but this is emotional. He's feeling beytrayed by his own sister and friend. What will he do about them?

Orire: Samanja will be sacked. It will affect the company a lot but he's not totally indispensable. Though he won't be prosecuted because of Ben's sister, she might go to jail too.

Me: I will not like to see her in jail but her freedom is dangerous to us. She's capable of anything

Mum: She's a woman, I believe that man was the one influencing her. The man will likely get rid of her after getting the whole riches. He's using her. If there is a way to get the man prosecuted without her been involved, it will be okay.

Joy: I'll talk with our lawyer

Orire: I think it's better you discuss with Ben before making any move

Joy: Of course I will, I'm just scared emotion will be cloud his reasoning

While we were still talking, the ladies came back from the market as Temmy and Dan followed suit. Daddy Orire went into my room to check on Uncle Ben while entered into the sitting room.

Funmi: Baby do you miss me while I'm out?

Me: Very much, what do you get for me?

Debby: She would not let us rest until she bought the oranges. This your love is something I (we all laughed as Daddy Orire came back into the sitting room)

Orire: Lola!

Funmi: Dad! (She jumped on him like a two year old would do to her father) How do you know I'm here Dad?

Orire: I should be asking you dear, what are you doing here?

Funmi: Dad, meet my fiancé, Will

Orire: What!

Mum: She's your daughter?

Orire: Yes, this is Lola I've been wanting Yemi to meet. Lola, is Yemi your boyfriend I've always been rejecting?

Funmi: Yes Daddy. By the way what are you doing here or are Daddy Orire?

Me: On point! So Daddy Orire us your Dad?

We all burst into laughter at the unfolded drama.

Mum: I rejected Funmi because I want Opeyemi to marry Funmi

Orire: And I rejected Yemi so Lola could marry Yemi.

Joy: That's what I call PERFECT REJECTION (we all laughed)

Concerning the grammatical errors, what I discover is authors spend days, months and years sometimes editing their work. After which they give it to professionals to edit again. Like 3 professionals sometimes.

If you have read books like WHAT MAKES THE GREAT GREAT by Dr. P KIMBRO, THE 7HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE by STEPHEN R COVEY et al, you'll see how many editors they acknowledge.

Thanks for the encouragement bro

EPISODE THIRTY-FIVE MFYL PR2

Getting back home from the hospital that very day, we met my mum crying. What could be making her crying St this very moment? I could bear to see people cry but not my mother. The moment she sighted me, she quickly cleaned her face and tried to fake happy and before I could ask her what the problem was, she started pouring rain of prayers on me. Her prayers were mainly on me walking again and having kids.

After the prayers, I asked her why she was crying and why the sudden hush of prayers; she told me she's scared. She said she was relieved when Uche said she was pregnant for me but everything is gone now. I assured her I'll be okay that Funmi is with but she insisted she went to hear Funmi speak herself. She regretted always rejecting her all these while.

Mum: I've always reject this girl, yet she's here. She did not deserve all she got from me.

Me: I'm even surprised she's still with me. I wanted to ask her to leave but I don't know how to. She believes more in me more than I do.

Mum: That's how a good lady from a good home will behave. I think I still need to talk to her, so that she can know what she's putting her head into

Me: I think so too, but it will hurt her mum.

Mum: There is a way I'll do it without hurting her

Me: Are you sure mum? I don't want her hurt

Mum: I'm a woman too remember? Have you met her parents?

Me: Not at all, her mum has passed on and I've never come across her dad. She said her Dad is one of the Uncle Ben's company owner, so I'm believing Uncle Ben will know him

Mum: Have you asked him?

Me: No, he wanted me to marry Daddy Orire's daughter too.

Mum: Really? I'm not sure even Daddy Orire will want his daughter to marry you again. By the way, he's supposed to be back today.

Me: From Europe?

Mum: Yes, I'm not sure if he'll get to this place but he'll get to Nigeria today.

Me: That's great, it's been long I set my eyes on him.

Mum: He might not be happy about you and Funmi though

Me: I think he'll understand, let's call him to know if he's around now. (I dialled his number on my phone but was switched off) His number is off.

Mum: Maybe he's not back yet or let's try his other number.
Me: I don't have his other number

Mum: Let me give you (She called the number for me and I dialled it but it was also switched off)

Me: It's also off

Mum: That mean he's not back yet. He'll definitely call when he's back.

Me: Did he know I'm out of coma?

Mum: Yes, I told him the last time he called. That was when he told me he's likely coming today. Call me Funmi and let three of us have some real talk.

We called for Funmi as she met us in my mother's room. She'll be the first outsider inside that room, only my mom's children do enter and Funmi knows this. I think this made her a little nervous about mum calling her in. I smiled at her to calm her nervousness.

Mum: I'm the one that called you in my dear. I have a lot to discuss with you.

Funmi: I'm listening ma

Mum: Thank you so much for staying with my son during these trying times, you are like an angel. God bless you my daughter.

Funmi: Thank God ma

Mum: He has always talked about you since you were in school but I've always reject you. Even while Uche was pregnant, I preferred Uche to you, maybe because I've met Uche once. I'm really sorry my daughter, I can see now you deserve better.

Funmi: I understand ma, I'll do same if I'm in your shoe ma

Mum: No my daughter, God will not give you that kind of shoe. You'll be happier and your husband will not die early.

Funmi: Amen ma

Mum: I insisted Opeyemi will marry Daddy Orire's daughter just because he's been nice to us. Opeyemi can tell you how much he has tried for us, especially in your final year. Since he so desire for his daughter to marry my son, I thought it's the only way to repay him because I don't have money. My children are my wealth. Opeyemi, Deborah and Daniel. You know I'm not Opeyemi's biological mother?

Funmi: Yes I know ma

Mum: Good, the time he got to know, I was scared he'll leave me and go to his mother but my son is my son, he stayed with me. Our bond is beyond what I share with my biological son. Opeyemi is at the top of my heart. I hope you are getting me well?

Funmi: Very well ma

Mum: You said you love him?

Funmi: With the whole of my heart ma

Mum: And you want to marry him?

Funmi: (She looked at me and smile) Yes ma, I can't wait

Mum: Hmm, hope you can see his condition, my son is not he used to be o

Funmi: I know ma, I love him still

Mum: Did he tell you he might not be able to give birth?

Funmi: (smiles) He did ma, we have resolved that together

Mum: Resolved how?

Funmi: We've talked about it and I'm okay with it

Mum: Let me talk to you as a mother. I add m a woman and I'm sure all women want their own kids. Don't you want kids?

Funmi: I do ma, we'll have kids ma.

Mum: I love your faith but if it never happens

Funmi: My dear, don't let love be cloud your judgment, I need you to take your time and think about this because it's easier said than done.

Funmi: I've thought about it ma, it's a cross I'm willing to carry. I love Will and I don't think I can live another person like that again.

Mum: (sigh) You kids are difficult

Funmi: Don't worry ma, we are fine (She look at me as I smile back in acceptance)

Mum: If it's your decision then I don't have option again than to bless you

Funmi: Thank you ma

While they were talking Funmi's phone rang and she excused herself to pick it as Debby enters into the room.

Mum: You can't even knock, we are having a very important conversation here

Debby: I need Aunty Funmi

Mum: For what?

Debby: We are going to the market together

Mum: Good with Aramide now?

Debby: We are all going together

Mum: All of you in the market means we are not eating today

Debby: We won't be long. My BB she can go with us right?

Me: I can't hold her now

Debby: Mum you hear? "Oko Iyawo" said she can go.

Funmi came back from her call and said she will be going to Lagos tomorrow

Mum: Hope there's no problem?

Funmi: No ma, my uncle just called now that my Dad left a message for me and he won't tell me until I come down

Me: You'll be fine?

Funmi: Sure, I'll go tomorrow

Debby: Time to go to the market my BBW

Me: Which one is BBW again

Funmi: (laughs) she said it means Big Brother's Wife

Me: Toor

Mum: Don't be long. Oluwafunmilola, we still have a lot to talk about.

Debby: Huh, mum is always having something to talk about

Mum: What's your own? Don't spend more than I told you o. I want my change.

They leave the room as they head for market leaving me and mum at home as Dan, Sewa Temmy and Rachael went somewhere I don't know. But I felt it has to do with Dan and Sewa's wedding

Mum: I still don't believe this girl. I'm liking her but what she's saying is impossible coming from a lady.

Me: It's a win/win situation mum. She can always leave whenever she wants

Mum: Won't that affect you?

Me: It might but I'm prepared.

As we were still talking, my phone rang and the call was from my biological mother. She first requested to talk to my mum and after they both spoke for a while my mum handed the phone over to me.

Mother: How are you 'ejire'?

Me: I'm okay ma, hope nobody is disturbing you again?

Mother: No my son, my husband handed over himself to the olive after we said we are not taking any change against him, they released him.

Me: Oh, so far you are safe.

Mother: I am safe dear, sorry I've not come to visit you dear.

Me: No problem ma, you can take your time or I'll come when I'm more fit.

Mother: No, I was waiting for my husband. He said he wanted to ask for forgiveness from both of you.

Me: He doesn't need to do that. We've forgiven him, he's not welcomed here

Mother: I've spoken with your mother, she said he can come

Me: Do you trust him that much?

Matter: No but I trust our pastor. Our pastor is also coming, he's the one that advice him to ask for forgiveness

Me: He's going to church now?

Mother: He has accepted Christ

Mother: (Sigh) Well, there is nothing God cannot do,but please be careful.

Mother: Thanks dear, we'll come tomorrow

Me: Well be expecting you ma.

Mother: What of Aramide?

Me: She went to the market

Mother: Okay, I've tried her number but she wasn't picking up

After dropping the call from my mother, my mum and I discussed about their coming here and later about funmi and then Dan's wedding. Dan's wedding is about two weeks to that period. He has already told me he wanted me to best Jim even though I'm still on wheels

As we were talking, we heard someone entering into the compound and it was Daddy Orire. He and mum higher as if they were dating.

Mum: I've tried all your numbers but was switched off.

Orire: I was attacked on my way home from the airport. They took my phones which is why I head down here straight. I've not gotten home in Lagos

Mum: Hope you are not hurt?

Orire: No I'm not, but I think that are hired killer. Your uncle might be in danger (pointing to me)

Mum: His uncle is around

Orire: That’s good, I'll ask him to come over here. Will how are you doing? I've missed you boy (He hugged me)

EPISODE THIRTY-FOUR MFYL PR2*

"The heart of a man is desperately wicked, who can know it". "There are so many lizard lying down, how do we know which one is really having stomach pain"- Yoruba proverb. "Wisdom is the principal thing, in all your getting, get understanding" - Bible.

As Uche was looking at Victoria, obviously surprised to see her, Victoria was not moved. She just sat there smiling while rolling her eye periodically. It was a moment when Uche thought she's a devil but met with a legion. At this point everybody was already in the sitting room. My mum, Aramide, Debby, Dan, Sewa, Funmi while Temmy and Rachael eventually join the action thriller we were witnessing. Only we don't know the Victor and the villain, but to me and Funmi, they are both villain.

After a very loud silence which took everybody to planet confusion, Victoria broke the silence.

Victoria: My friend, it's been a long time. Is that how life is? Was that our agreement?

Uche: Victoria, what are you doing here?

Victoria: The same thing you are doing here, or you think only you can have Willie?

Uche: Victoria!

Victoria: I've met him and found out he's a kind of guy I like

Uche: Victoria can we talk in private please

Me: Hello no! You both tell us what you know here.

Mum: What's going on?

Me: Mum meet Victoria, the second recipient of my pregnancy charity

Mum: I don't understand

Me: She claim to be carrying my baby too

Victoria: I'm not claiming rich boy, this is your child (touching her belly)

Mum; You are pregnant for my son?

Victoria: Four months old

Mum: And yours is four old too Uche? (Uche Judy looked down with water already filling her eye). If I may get you right, he was dating you too?

Victoria: He's my boyfriend, it's just that Uche was knee on snatching him from me

Mum: He's your boyfriend but you did not show up for once while he was in coma?

Victoria: I tried to...

Me: Mum, she's the lady testifying against Uncle Ben along with the hotel manager

Mum: What!

Victoria: Mama cool down e, it's not time fight, I'm the one that saved your son's life that night

Uche: Lie! She's the one that drugged and kidnapped him

Victoria: I did not kidnap him and I drugged him because of you, bastard!

Uche: No, you did it for yourself slut! You drugged him so you could tie him.

Victoria: Fine! Accepted, but you did the remaining drugging part because you want his child.

Dan picked up his phone and went outside the sitting room while Temmy followed him. I don't know what they were up to but I wasn't going to leave the sitting room until they are done opening their respective secrets

Uche: No I wasn't there, I don't even know you did such thing liar

Victoria: Really? If you were not there then you are not supposed to be pregnant for him. You see mama, her pregnancy is fake.

Uche: You prostitute of a lady, I gave you everything you requested for, yet you went behind me to cheat. I don't blame you, that's exactly the way your mother behaves till she kill your father. Like mother like daughter

Victoria: What did you say?

She moved closer to Uche and gave her two resounding slap offerings in quick succession that sends Uche’s brain to original default setting. Uche held on to her face, facing downward as we all looked on to what was going to turn into WWE stars show.

After some seconds, Uche gained back her consciousness and like a rocket reaching for space with maximum force, she lunched on to Victoria. The last time I witnessed that kind of mammalian lunching onto each other was on National Geographical where an obviously hungry lion descended on an antelope.

Have you witnessed an ice hockey game before? You remember the way the reference do allow two quarreling opponents to lock it out fighting while others watch on? That was exactly the way we were all watching them as they exchange series of exotic slaps. From face slap to body slap and head slap that tends to always beat the previous slap in intensity. The whole fighting game turned into a real wrestling match as I wondered who was John Cena among them.

Unfortunately, wrestling turned out to be the strong point of Victoria but weak for Uche who was trying to release herself so they could be back to punching and slapping position. The more she try, the more Victoria lunch on her as they both tore their respective clothes. Victoria initial mission (I guessed) was beginning to manifest at a point as she kept on hitting Uche on the stomach.

At this point, we knew we must intervene if one of them will not die that moment. Uncle Ben was the only able men left in the sitting room as Dan and Temmy were yet to come back inside. He was able to separate them but not until Uche started bleeding from her mouth while she could not stand up by herself.

My mum started panicking shouting "omo olomo" (Another man's child). She urged Rachael and the other ladies to lift her up as uncle Ben held Victoria to avoid further assault. But Uche could still not stand on her own so we decided to rush her down to the hospital. Victoria also started bleeding from the nose as she lost her consciousness and fell down. Uncle Ben carried her as they were both rushed down to the hospital leaving only the ladies and myself at home.

Rachael: Will you are really a strong man. These are the people you are dealing with? When did Uche become this, I know she's rascal but not a criminal.

Funmi: You never told me they drugged you. More than one time?

Me: They were eventually two but I wasn't able to see or recognize any voice that moment. But now I could see Uche was the second person

Funmi: I'm really sorry for ever pushing Uche towards you. I'm sorry dear.

Sewa: All what we are saying is good but I'm really scared for Will

Rachael: What's your fear

Sewa: Will, have you done HIV test since you gained your consciousness?

Me: I can't remember.

Sewa: Those girls are whores, especially that second lady, we don't know what they've dashed you.

Funmi: How forbid! (Temmy and Dan entered)

Dan: I think we need to take you down to the hospital for the test too.

Temmy: We need to be sure

Dan: Those criminals are already there and police are with them.

Sewa: Police?

Temmy: Yes, they were responsible for Will's kidnapping, they should be able to cmtell who shot him

Me: I know the person that shot me and I know the person that sent him.

Funmi/Sewa/Rachael: Really?

Temmy: I think you should keep it to yourself for now. We must not do anything that will put you in risk again.

Dan: That's true, let nobody say it out for now. Let's go to the hospital, we'll talk about other stuffs later.

As we were about moving out, my mum came back.

Mum: Where are you heading to?

Temmy: Will needs to have some STD tests

Mum: Good idea, let's thank God Uche is alive o, and don't stop praying for her.

Dan: What's the matter?

Mum: Uche is already in surgery, they said she lost the baby and they have to evacuate it immediately if she's to be saved.

Temmy: What of Victoria?

Mum: They are carrying out test on her but she's stable.

Me: Who is taking care of the bills?

Mum: Your uncle is doing that, besides they are both government properties now as police are already waiting for them.

We went to the same hospita so I could have STD tests. The tests were conducted and we were asked to wait for a while to get the result. When you have influence, some things are done pretty fast in this country.

The operation on Uche was successful and they said she's recuperating. I really wish her case will not reach court, I just want her to go her way. She might be a devil who is using all means to get what she wanted but I don't want her in jails because of me. Victoria on the other hand deserves whatever she's getting. How I'll be able to save Uche from Victoria's charges is what I don't know. I think I'll drop any rape charges, that should safe her I guess.

The doctor who happened to be a family friend and church member was the one that attended to us. He was having the reports of Uche, Victoria and I.

Doctor: Opeyemi how is your body?

Me: I'm doing good sir

Doctor: Hope there is no pain anywhere

Me: Not at all sir

Doctor: I think you can start trying to walk, maybe I should give you some crutches.

Me: Thank you sir

Doctor: Your test result is out and you are safe of any STD. All results came negative, try having it next three months again.

Me: Okay sir, thank you. How is Uche doing? That girl that was operated on

Doctor: We thank God for her life, she lost the baby and we might have lost her too if we did not evacuate it. She's now in a stable condition and should be discharged in a couple of days.

Me: That's great, what of the other lady.?

Doctor: She's fine, she only had little concussion but she's good now. She'll be discharged today.

Me: What about her baby? Hope the baby is safe?

Doctor: She's not carrying any baby

Me: She's sir

Doctor: No she's not pregnant.

Me: Why did you conclude that sir?

Doctor: (smiles) We must conduct pregnancy test on her to know the kind of treatment to apply because we were told they were both pregnant when they came. But her own result came negative

Me: Wao! So she was lying

Doctor: She told you she's pregnant?

Me: That was what causes their fight in the first place.

Doctor: I think she faked it, she's not pregnant at all. No traces.

Me: Thank you Doctor

Few days ago I was expecting a kid, it makes two this morning but now I've got none. Even though the circumstances at which the child came was dubious and pathetic, I still felt in my heart I lost a child.

I felt I'm getting my strength back, though not yet walking but it's time to expose those criminals who tried to kill me. I only hope the truth will not shatters uncle Ben which might eventually damaged the company

EPISODE THIRTY-THREE MFYL PR2

If there is one thing I avoid with all vehement, it's trouble or should I say quarrel. Uche’s arrival will surely cause some rift and I can only hope Funmi will calm down. I don't want her to give my mum any reason to dislike her. I still don't understand Uche’s game plan but I'm sure I can't trust her anymore. How could she blackmail me like this? After building a real friendship relationship with her. Men's heart is definitely deep, although I still don't accept her pregnancy if she's indeed pregnant.

Before we could say anything to her, mum already came welcoming and ushering her in. I was already expecting full word drilling from Funmi.

Funmi: Will, I need you to give me sincere and true answers to these questions

Me: I will surely answer you dear. Just calm down

Funmi: Did you at any point date Uche while we were separated.

Me: No, not at all. I dated nobody during that period

Funmi: Are you sure about that?

Me: Very positive, I can say it to her face

Funmi: Okay, I believe you, but do you drink at her place or when she's at yours?

Me: I drink but only water or soft drinks. You know I don't do alcohol.

Funmi: So you were never high in her presence

Me: Except if I climb something (we both smile). No dear, I was never high because I don't drink.

Funmi: Hmm, I'm really sorry about the questions I'm asking dear, I trust you but I'm confused.

Me: I am confused too, I know it sounds crazy but I am really confused. What the hell happened during those four months?

Funmi: How did she come about pinning you with pregnancy that is yours and mother kept saying she believe the child is yours

Me: I know the angle mum was coming from

Funmi: What angle is that?

Me: What I'm about to tell you might change your emotion for life, are you ready for it?

Funmi: What's it?

Me: Whatever decision you take, I want you to know I'll understand perfectly.

Funmi: You are scaring me, hope you are not thinking of breaking up. Hope I've not offended you?

Me: You are really amazing me. I don't know you are this kind hearted. I never knew you love me this much, which is why I must tell you this. I'm really sorry about everything.

Funmi: Leave poem for literature Will, what is it?

I narrated everything to her, how doctor said my walking and procreation is a great doubt. I also made her understand mum was accepting Uche’s pregnancy because she's scared I might not be able to reproduce again.

She immediately burst into tears, crying profusely. Age cried so much to the extent others came out to ask what the problem was, but I told them nothing, just so they can leave. She stood up on her chair and walk a little away from me cleaning her tears as I watched on.

At this point I was already point I was already prepared for whatever she'll say. I honestly understand her pain. If I were a lady, I am not sure I'll accept that kind of situation too.

To my surprise and to the watching eyes of mum and Uche who were watching us from the sitting room through the window (they don't know I saw them). Funmi came closer to me and sat on my laps on the wheel chair. She hugged me passionately and I was already thinking it was a goodbye hug but she went ahead and kissed me too. She hugged me still, placing her head on my shoulder while rubbing my back affectionately. She also kisses me once a while before eventually standing up to sit back on her chair.

Funmi: I am angry about one thing though

Me: Feed me in

Funmi: How could you be carrying such burden alone without telling me

Me: I'm very lost

Funmi: I need you to promise me to never ever do such again. We'll be sharing our burdens together dear, promise?

Me: Hello o, what going on?

Funmi: Do you promise?

Me: I promise but I'm still lost

Funmi: Why are you lost? Are you expecting me to leave you because of all that? Then you don't really know me. I love you more than you can imagine

Me: Are you for real? I think I need water

Funmi: Oh, drinking right?

Me: No, I need it to wipe my face

Funmi: What for?

Me: It's time to wake up

Funmi: Not believing me is hurting me dear. I mean it

Me: Wao! I'm sorry dear, but there is nothing to love about me anymore

Funmi: I'm sorry you are passing through something as big as this all alone. I need to ask a question though

Me: I'm listening

Funmi: Do you love me?

Me: With all my heart

Funmi: (showing me the engagement ring I gave her) Do you still want to marry me?

Me: I want nothing more than it in life

Funmi: (smiles) That's all I need to hear. I don't care if you can't walk now because you'll surely walk later. I don't care about Uche’s presence because she's a problem I caused, I pushed her to you and I'll deal with it. If she's truly pregnant for you, I'll take the child

Me: I think you should take time to think about all these. It's a very big decision, even your Dad will never support it.

Funmi: Oh I did not tell you. I've finally able to secure my freedom from my Dad. He has grant me freedom to marry whoever I love.

Me: Really, so no more Fred.

Funmi: I don’t even know where that one is

Me: Funny

Funmi: I also believe very much you'll be active soon and we'll have our own children

Me: Where is that coming from?

Funmi: I could feel you while I was rubbing you the other time.

Me: What are you talking about

Funmi: Are you saying you don't feel your person rising and getting stronger that moment

Honestly my mind was not there and I really could not remember feeling anything, but as she kept describing it, I felt it rise indeed and very hard this time.

Me: Oh my God!

Funmi: (smiles) Even if it will not perform, I'll still stay with you. Let's keep it secret, don't tell anybody.

Me: Wao this is great, I'm really grateful to God, though the doctor's fear was reproducing not been sex active. But even at that, this is early

Funmi: I think we should start trying to walk too

Me:No, we might cause more problem. The doctor said at least sixteen weeks.

Funmi: I don’t care what he says

Me: Let's take it easy, dear, slow and steady

Funmi: No problem love, all I know is you are walking before the sixteenth week

I don't know what amazed me more, was it the hope I can perform or the way she's so believed in me more than I do. I am really happy with the development as it raise my hope.

On the second day of Uche’s arrival, I got a chance to speak to her and I was amazed at her level of confidence.

Uche: You hate me right?

Me: No, you hate you

Uche: I know I've wrong you but I'm sorry

Me: What wrong did you do?

Uche: Just forgive me, for the sake of what we share

Me: Which is?

Uche: Love

Me: I'll need to check dictionary for the meaning of that

Uche: You know I love you.

Me: That information is missing on my memory, please don't try again later.

Uche: If you won't love me for me, at least love me for the sake of our child.

Me: Your child you mean

Uche: You really think this navy is not yours?

Me: I'm not thinking, I know it

Uche: Well, you can always have Paternity test to confirm that when the child is born

Me: Who said on waiting for you till that time, I'm not interested

Uche: Police will be involved you know

Me: (smiles) You know what's making me laugh? How extremely stupid I am to think you've changed from who I know you to be. I'm so gullible

Uche: You know I've change Will

Me: You are right, because that first time you would never have come up with pregnancy story saying I rape you.

Uche: I never said you rape me

Me: Really, then why is police going to be involved?

Uche: You really don't remember that day, ddo you?

Me: Which day?

Uche: Maybe because you had a lot to drink that day. You were too rough on me I even believed you love me

Me: Wake up woman, I don't drink and you know that, so look for another lie.

Uche: I am not lying. What will you do if the child looks exactly like you.

Me: I'll wake up from your hypnotism

Uche: The child is yours Will, whether you remember or not. He's your son

Me: Oh! You even know the gender

Uche: You'll be surprised the baby's yours

I angrily wheeled myself out of the place as it was obvious she wasn't going to give any reasonable point. I was not able to bring out anything reasonable from her points. She was just saying things. Something is obviously not right because her confidence about the child being mine is superb.

The following day, Uncle Ben came to our home town with Aunty Joy as he had earlier said. He claimed he'll find necessary rest there after all the problems he has went through.

My mum would still not give him face but I tried as much as I could to make sure they are on talking terms. I was so happy so see Aunty Joy also.

Uncle Ben was told every buts of my condition by the doctor. I don't know if that's professional but I feel he did it because he believed uncle Ben was the only father figure I have. Uncle Ben also promised to start the process of transferring me to a better medical center abroad.

Later in the evening, he came to our house to check on me

Ben: I heard about everything from the doctor and I'm really sorry about it. You'll be cured, don't worry.

Me: Thanks

Ben: Well you should be happy, there is someone I want you to meet. It'll make you forget that problem. Let me ask the person to come inside from the car.

She was on full native wear from head to toe and that confused me a bit, but looking very closely I could recognize her very well

Me: Victoria!

Victoria: Willie, I told you ill contact you. I'm happy you are alive.

Me: Uncle Ben what's going on?

Ben: Cool down boy, I can see you recognize her very well

Me: Was she not the one testifying against you in court?

Ben: Yes, I know

Me: Then why is she with you? She's a criminal that should be in jail

Victoria: That hurts Willie, you said I'm beautiful before, why are you changing now?

Ben: We can't send her to jail again, she's got what we needed

Me: What the hell is it that I need from this criminal.

Victoria: I guess your forgiveness ability has died. So I'm now a criminal after helping you. Your real enemies are there, you are embracing them, it's me the time help, you are hating on.

Ben: Will, she's carrying your child

Me: What the shoot! Even Victoria? When did I become father Christmas dashing pregnancy to all and sundry

Ben: There is another person pregnant for you?

Me: It's Uche, she's even here trying to be a wife

Ben: I heard that of Uche but I thought it was a joke

Me: She's claiming I rape her

Victoria: Seems I have a rival

Me: Victoria you really have guts. After kidnapping and giving me drugs... Wait! What did you do while I passed out after removing my clothes?

Victoria: No, it's what you did and he result is I'm now carrying your child.

Ben: Will I'm getting lost

Me: Wao! I'm matching something here, I think she needs to meet Uche right now!

Ben: That's not a good idea

Me: No, they must meet now!

I wheeled in a little and called on Uche to come. Sighting Victoria, she opened her mouth!

EPISODE THIRTY-TWO MFYL PR2

Only God knows what they were dragging about Uche but whatever it is, I want to hear it. She has not come to say even hi since I woke up. Or maybe she thought I'm dead too.

The phone rang again and I asked Debby not to cut it. I picked it to hear from Uche herself.

Me: Hello

Uche: Hello Temmy, I heard Will is alive, is that true?

Me: Yeah it's true (I sensed she thought she was speaking with Temmy)

Uche: Why didn't you tell me, and you've been terminating my calls since.

Me: Do you want him dead? And is this Temmy's number? Don't you have his number to call him on?

Uche: Who am I speaking with?

Me: Who does it sounds like?

Uche: (She paused a little) Will?

Me: Yes, I am. You want me dead or what?

Uche: Oh my God (She terminates the line)

Me: What's wrong with Uche?

Temmy: What did she say?

Me: She thought she was speaking with you but after realizing it's me, she terminates the call.

Temmy: Of course she did.

She called back almost immediately.

Me: Hello why did you terminate the call?

Uche: I'm sorry dear, my airtime got exhausted

Me: Really?

Uche: Yeah, I'm really happy you make it alive

Me: Are you sure?

Uche: Why not, can you come visiting like tomorrow?

Me: You want me to visit you tomorrow? You are indeed happy. You thought I traveled somewhere right?

Uche: I'm sorry, I just want to see you. When did you get well?

Me: What's wrong Uche, your words are not coherent.

Uche: I'm sorry Will

Me: Sorry about what?

Uche: When I see you ill explain better, just forgive me.

Me: Uche you are confusing me. Why can't you come over?

Uche: I'm not sure your folks want to see me

Me: Why won't they not want to see you?

Uche: Please come over Will

Me: Maybe you should tell me on phone then, or have you offended any of them?

Uche: Can't you come.

Me: You obviously did not check on me all these while, if you do, you'll not ask me to come over. Since you are not ready to talk, next time then.

Uche: Oh, em em, okay I'll call you (She terminates the call)

Me: What's wrong with this girl?

Mum: I need to ask you some questions

Me: I'm listening

Mum: Did you ever went to Uche’s house alone without Temmy?

Me: Yes, like twice self, before my birthday...

Mum: Why would you do that? Don't you know it's dangerous?

Me: When does going to Uche’s place becomes dangerous, what's going on? Even Temmy do go there alone sometimes and she comes here too.

Mun: She said she'll get you arrested if you ever surface

Me: Arrested for what?

Debby: For Rape! She's pregnant for you BB

Mum: Did you really rape her?

Me: Mum are you even asking that?

Mum: Sorry dear, but did you have sex with her?

Me: No mum, why would I?

Mum: Well dear I don't believe you in this case. That's how you men normally fake ignorance after doing what you did. I've promised her to accept the responsibility for the child if she can drop the rape allegation

Me: What the hell, this is ridiculous. What's going on here?

Dan: Man cool down. I think mum takes the best move. If we allow her to go out, your name and reputation will be soiled

Me: Why will Uche do that? What did I do to offend her? Are you sure she's really pregnant or faking one?

Temmy: Paternity test will prove you right.

Mum: I am a woman, only the mother knows the father of her child. I have a very strong feeling and conviction that child is yours and I'm accepting the child. Dear remember what the doctor said, let's not waste the opportunity.

Me: Mum! I'm running mad here!

Mum! I've decided dear, you can't change my mind. I won't even mind if you marry her, at least she's a good girl and she's beautiful.

Debby: Mum I think she's blackmailing my BB. She deliberately got pregnant for him

Mum: Whether deliberately or not, I'm sure she did not rape your BB. I know you've falling for Funmi, I like Funmi too but by the time she hear your B&B's condition, she'll pick race.

Debby: She knows Uche is pregnant for him, yet she stays hoping he'll wake up or which condition are you talking about.?

Mum: I have spoken.

Debby: I'm sure sister Aramide won't like it.

Mum: This is bigger than what you and Aramide wants. You are a lady, you should understand better.

Dan: Mum, in as much as I support your decision on the pregnancy, I think you should leave the issue of marriage to Will. Funmi obviously still loves him.

Mum: Love alone can't do it. I don't want my son having children with many women, besides I'm sure Funmi won't be able to bear the conditions

I watched on as they dragged the issue with each other. I was still confused of what is going on. It's either Uche is not pregnant or she got pregnant for somebody else and wanted to to pin it on me somehow. I'll like to meet her later to know what's up.

We left PH for our home town the following day to the tears of Aunty Joy. Aramide left his PPA in Ogun state to meet us at home. She has been staying at our place since the kidnapping incident with her step dad. She was posted to a hospital in Ogun state for her service year.

The whole house seem very full as Rachael came to town to visit me and of course spend time with her boo Temmy. Funmi was also around even though mum was expecting her to leave sooner. Aramide stayed for a while too before going back to her PPA. Dan is around while Sewa also came to spend some weeks with us. Their wedding is less than a month's time.

Seeing everybody around me made me happy and the caring I'm getting from Funmi is astonishing. I really feel for her and I wish she can leave in peace. The torment was too much for her, yet she's enduring it. Her man is semi crippled with his ability to perform or procreate in great doubt. Another lady in person of Uche is claiming to be carrying his baby. I just hope Funmi will leave happily, she deserves better. I tried to ask her to leave, but I couldn't withstand the hurt that will befall her.

Uncle Ben was eventually discharged as Victoria and the hotel manager refused to appear in court to testify again after hearing I'm alive. The video also help as it convince everybody I'm alive. He called me and told me Victoria ran away on hearing that I'm alive.

Ben: Thank you so much Will

Me: I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you, I'm really sorry

Ben: Thanks, coming back to life is the greatest thing you gave me. I would have died of guilt. I hope you are very fine now

Me: Yeah, I'm good now

Ben: I'm told you can't walk yet.

Me: I will by God's grace

Ben: Don't worry, I'll fly you out for better medical attention.

Me: I'll be fine thank you sir.

Ben: I have spoken with the doctor and he has told me everything needed

Me: Don't stress yourself sir. I'll be fine

Ben: I'm really sorry about everything. I never knew this is how things will pan out

Me: Hope all charges ha been dropped against you

Ben: Yes for now, you are the only one who can revive it. But I'm still in danger and because of that I'll be coming home next week.

Me: Really?

Ben: Yes, I hope we can talk by then.

Me: No problem sir. You'll come with Aunty Joy?

Ben: Of course, I can't leave her here alone.

Me: Alright, I'll be expecting you.

Ben: Thanks Will. Can I ask you something?

Me: What's that?

Ben: Is that lady really your girlfriend?

Me: Which lady?

Ben: The lady that testifies against me

Me: No she's not, why?

Ben: Well, when I come over we'll talk better. Go and rest and be good.

Me: Thank you

Ben: Hope you have enough on you?

Me: Yes thank you very much

I'm happy to see him free from bandage but I think the war is far from over. I have a feeling more secret will be burst open in the coming days and there will be more arrests. All I want is to walking again.

Mum called me aside one day and told me she's inviting Uche ever.

Me: Mum No, I don't want that. Not now, Funmi I'd still here.

Mum: It's better that way, let's see how Funmi will reacts to her presence.

Me: Mum, that is wickedness, I can't do it. I don't love Uche, and that pregnancy is not mine!

Mum: Wickedness is leaving a pregnant woman alone by herself. Besides how are you sure it's not yours?

Me: Because I never had sex with her mum!

Mum: You didn't sleep with her?

Me: Not even a kiss. She's lying mum!

Mum: Are you sure?

Me: Won't I know if lay with a lady?

Mun: Hmm, but my spirit is very strong on that child Ben yours

Me: Mum check again

Mum: I've checked several times, but I'm trying to believe you. That child is yours dear, I know something is not right but that child is yours.

Me: Mum!

Mum: Dear I understand you, but remember we are not sure you can impregnate again. Your potency is a great doubt, rejecting thus child might be a doom. You might live to regret it in life. Please my child, accept the kid. You might not marry her if you don't love her, but that child is an Albert.

Me: It’s will hurt Funmi mum

Mum: She'll have to endure it for now, until the child is born at least. We don't have options.

Me: Damn!

My mum actually make sense but I still don't understand how that child can be mine. Even if the child is mine how am I sure Funmi will accept it. If I were her, would I accept such? It would have been a different case if I'm still very potent which means she'll have her own children if she marries me. But seeing me having a child when she cannot have any while she's not the cause will be extremely hard to forget nor accept. It will be better to allow Her leave yard marry another man she loves.

Funmi and I were discussing in the compound one evening when she entered into the compound. I wanted to ask how she got to know our house but I remembered she was there before, after camp period.

The hatred I saw on Funmi's face was one I've never witnessed on her before and the way I see it, trouble was looming.

One thing about this story is I compose each episode as a whole, I usually don't have idea of what happen next until I started writing.

EPISODE THIRTY-ONE MFYL PR2

Honestly I was still confused about everything. Why will Uncle Ben be arrested? He wasn't related to the horror in any physical way. Another angle is he's rich and influential, I expect him to work things out with his influence except if there is more to this than I know.

Me: To tell you the truth, I am confused and I'm beginning to have headache.

Joy: I'm sorry dear

Me: But Uncle Ben is influential, why can't he bail himself out with self recognition and get a good lawyer.

Joy: The case is bigger than what he can influence

Me: Who is the person against him? I guessed it's supposed to be me.

Joy: Dr Samanja is behind it. He's using every of his power to make sure Ben did not come out of this alive.

Me: (Smiles) Samanja, hmm

Joy: Did you know something?

Me: Maybe, but what exactly is Uncle Ben owing him? I thought they are friends.

Joy: They used to be until of recent he asked Ben to sell some of his shares to him.

Me: Uncle Ben refused him?

Joy: Yeah, he said you'll get everything that belongs to him

Me: That's even wrong. You are his wife, you should get everything.

Joy: I already have all I needed dear, besides whatever is yours is mine.

Me: Hmm, anyway I don't want anything again, so he can sell to him

Joy: It's not that easy, he'll keep asking for more until he gets everything

Me: How can he even be friend with such person. I can't testify in court in this condition. Is there a way he could be bail out?

Joy: He's in prison, not police cell and the judge has refused his bail

Me: For a month now?

Joy: Yeah

Me: Wao! This is big. Well, let me talk with my mother, maybe I can help

Joy: Thank you Will

Me: But before I can do anything, I need to know about that woman that was with you on my birthday

Joy: All I can say is, she's Ben sister

Me: Biological?

Joy: Yes

Me: She's close to Samanja?

Joy: Samanja is like a friend to their family, so she's definitely close. That's why he's holding a big post on the company.

Me: Hmm, there is a lot to know, and I'll like to get to the root of everything. Is Victoria also arrested?

Joy: No she claimed she's your girlfriend and you were together that night.

Me: My girlfriend? Wao! She tried. I'll call you in the evening because mum will not wait to see you.

Joy: Thanks Will

Me: Can he be reached on phone?

Joy: No, nobody can contact him except on the hearing day

Me: When is the next sitting?

Joy: This coming Monday

Joy: Wao! That's far, I don't think anything can change my mom's mind. We'll surely leave tomorrow, but I will help him. Even though he rejected me, I still know he's my uncle.

Joy: He didn't reject you Will, he was only angry.

Me: No problem, I'll do something my health can carry.

Joy: Thanks Will, I've missed you so much

Me: Hmm

Joy: I actually support you to leave tomorrow

Me: Really, why?

Joy: I'm not sure of what Samanja will do of he knows you are alive

Me: He didn't know?

Joy: He didn't even know you were only in coma. He thought you are dead.

Me: So you think I'm still in danger?

Joy: Yes you are, even Ben doesn't know you are awake yet.

Me: But the news has already circulated, even all corps members have heard. I think he may have known already, I mean Samanja

Joy: You might be right and I'm honestly scared the more

Me: Can you get Uncle Ben's lawyer to come later this evening?

Joy: I can do that

Me: Let's him come over, discreetly though.

Joy: I get it. Thank you Will.

Me: Thank you too, we'll talk later.

Due hugs me again and I could feel she was really sorry. I know she has a kind heart but she should have try to get my dude oof the story then, before concluding. She did try anyway, but I was too stubborn, I reacted to the way we he asked.

Uncle Ben might look like the devil just for that single act, but I think this is too much for him. He's a good man and it will be evil of me to just neglect him there when I'm sure he wasn't the one that tried to kill me. I determined to convince mum to allow me help him. He has done me many goods, he at least deserve this.

Me: Mum, I'm going to help uncle Ben

Mum: He's not your uncle and you are not helping anybody

Me: Mum, you might not be fond of each other but we both know he's my uncle

Dan: Will it's dangerous. I have a feeling the person that tried to kill you is still around

Temmy: Can you remember the person that shot you?

Me: Very well, Uncle Ben is not involved

Mum: Are you sure? All fingers point to him.

Temmy: No mummy, we went to the hotel together that day with Aunty Joy.

Me: I just needed to be sure of something before I divulge the truth.

Temmy: I'm sure Uncle Ben is not involved but I have some confusion. The timing and everything is very suspicious.

Me: I still want to help him. My spirit help him; mum, he's a good man.

Mum: (Sighs) Dear I'm more concern about you than anything. Helping him will be the right thing to do since you are sure he's not the one that tried to kill you, but it will put you in more danger.

Dan: Mum is right, besides if you say he's not he one, the court will ask you who

Me: I'm not planning to go to court.

Temmy: How will you help him then

Me: I've asked for his lawyer to come. The court and the accusers don't know I'm alive yet. When the lawyer come this evening, I'll make a video, confessing he's not the criminal.

Temmy: Did you think that will be enough?

Me: It’s should be, we'll all be there, including the lawyer so it will not look like a make up act.

Temmy: There is a girl also testifying against him apart from the hotel manager. She's claiming to be your girlfriend

Me: Victoria, there is something I don't understand about that lady.

Temmy: The lady's name is Victoria? How did you know her that much?

Me: She was in the hotel that day. In my room or should I say rooms.

Dan: She was indeed in your room? You doing prostitute?

Temmy: No, my guy don't do prostitutes. How did she get into your room Will?

Me: I'm still confused about her really. She is the main criminal

Temmy: How do you mean?

Me: She was my primary abductor. She and her colleagues injected many drugs into my body. I passed out more than twice that day.

Temmy: I still don't understand

Me: The time I called you, I just escaped their kidnap

Temmy: She kidnapped you?

Me: More like kidnap hostage thing. I was tied to the chair and was covered with hood.

Temmy: Damn! That's why your number was not going then

Me: No, I had off the phone before they came. Why I'm confused is because this same girl was the one that saved me. She came back after they've all left. She even warned me they'll come back to kill me to the extent of her begging them not to kill me at gun point.

Temmy: This is confusing.

Me: She was shot that day, I was even trying to help her

Temmy: No she wasn't shot at all. She's perfectly sound. I think she faked the gun shot to get to you

Me: But I felt the wound and even tying cloth round the place to stop the bleeding

Dan: She claimed to ran away after Ben pointed gun at her.

Me: Wao! That girl must be devil. She told me that day she doesn't kill. I don't think she faked the gun shot. She might be testifying for money though. That's what she does

Temmy: You might be right

Later in the evening, Uncle Ben's lawyer came around and I made the video stating he's innocent. I narrated as much as I could but insisted I could not remember the face of the shooter for now but I'm sure it's not Uncle Ben. I also stated I wasn't with any girlfriend, that every other persons that came into my room were intruders. The lawyer was happy with the testimony as he claimed it's enough to save Uncle Ben.

I wish I can be there at the court but even the lawyer advised against it. Saying I'll be in more danger. If anybody foresaw it that I'll end my service year like this, I'll have rebuke the person. I started so lovely I was envying myself, but ended rather pitifully. But all in all, Glory is to God.

Me: Mum, what of Daddy Orire?

Mun: He's in Europe for his leave

Me: Oh, I thought he was going to wait till after our service year. He went with his daughter?

Mum: I can't say. He fast forward it because of you. He couldn't bear seeing you like that.

Me: He came here?

Mum: Yeah, he paid for your hospita bills after I reject Ben's help

Me: Wao, but that means he has traveled before Uncle Ben was arrested?

Mum: Yeah

Debby was playing game on my phone and I noticed she has been rejecting a call on my line for up to four times.

Me: Debby who is it?

Debby: BB it's nobody

Mum: Is it Uche?

Debby/Temmy/Dan: Mum!

Mum: I don't think we should hide it from him anymore. He needs to know.

EPISODE THIRTY MFYL PR2

”Choice” according to the dictionary is “an option, a decision, an opportunity to choose or select something”. The one million dollars question here is “do we really have choice in life?” We talk of destiny, fate and purpose, yet we talk of choice; are they not contradicting? If our destiny is fixed, then do we have choice? I read our destiny is in our hands, does that mean we can reshape it? Or are we permitted to only hold it?

Situations, circumstances happen to us either by fate or by our decisions. Of course nobody choose the bad circumstances but our little actions and inactions contribute to how our destiny displayed. They can make or mare us.

Life is also funny and unpredictable, because the same hot water that soften yam, hardened egg. We live, we aspire, we try, and keep trying till we have no control of our ciliary muscle, but we don’t entirely control our circumstances, God does. And it’s as He likes. The good thing about it is, He knows the best from the beginning of time, and He will to the end of time.

The ceiling was white and walls alike. Different set of flowers collection pitched at the visible corners of the room. Directly in front was a rectangular wall paper with cloud background having the inscription “You are not alone, I am with you, your first love, Jesus”.

“He’s awake” was the voice I heard from the right side of the mattress I was on. I turned my head in response to the voice to see excited face of Funmi holding my right hand as water rolls out of her eyes. I tried to lift my head but was limited by the respiratory tube across my nose. “Don’t remove it!” She said as I felt a little hitch on my chest. What did happened or how I ended up where I was is an answer eluding my imagination.

After Funmi’s exclamation, a nurse and eventually the doctor came in into room. He felt me, did some snap test and smile facing the nurse.

Doctor: At last, we have a successful case.

Nurse: This called for celebration, well done doctor, your hand work has eventually paid off.

Doctor: I give glory to God. Please call his mother and tell her the good news.

Funmi: I’ve done that, she’s coming already.

Doctor: (Facing me) You are a strong personality and your will to live is very high. You are a very big result and today will never be forgotten in the history of this hospital. Please don’t force anything, lay down there and take it easy. We’ll have to conduct some test on you.

Me: (I nodded to say okay) What happened?

Funmi: Baby just cool, I’ll tell you everything later.

After some minutes, my mum, Debby and Dan entered into the room as my mum started crying singing. In no time, the room has turned into a worship center as everybody, including the doctor were in praise mood, led by my mother. I could see they were happy as Debby lied on the mattress with me, placing her head on my left shoulder while Funmi would not let go of my right hand.

I tried to remember the events that occurred earlier, maybe I’ll understand their deep happiness. I remembered a gun was pointed to me in that hotel room and the last thing I heard was Victoria saying don’t shoot him. My guess was I was indeed shot and that explain the hitch on the chest. I remembered vividly the guy that shot me and who was behind him giving command but I’m going to keep it to myself till I regain my strength.

The doctor conducted series of test on me and came back later to talk with my mum and me.

Doctor: The test shows you are strong enough. It’ll take some weeks before you can start to walk depending on how quickly your body and mind recuperates.

Mum: You mean he can’t walk now?

Doctor: Presently he can’t. he fell on something after the gun shot and it affected his spinal cord. It wasn’t totally damaged, so he’ll walk, but it will take time.

Mum: (Sobs) God why?

Doctor: You can’t be crying in his presence, he needs motivation now, not discouragement. He’ll be on wheel till he can walk, and will need your help.

Mum: Thank you doctor

Doctor: One more thing. He might not be able to reproduce again. When he starts to walk, he can have proper sex, but reproducing is a great doubt.

Mum: Oh my God! (Crying) Is there nothing we can do?

Doctor: Well, you can fly him abroad if you can afford it. His case is minor but we don’t have necessary equipment to help him here. Even with that, I still doubt if he will be able to reproduce, but you can try.

Mum: Thank you doctor. We’ll surely try, I don’t mind what I’ll have to sell. Seeing him alive is a miracle in itself.

Doctor: But you can’t fly him anytime soon. His body cannot withstand such thing for now.

Mum: Till when?

Doctor: At least sixteen weeks. He’ll also be coming for check up every four weeks.

Mum: Alright, we can wait but how do we go about the checkups because our side is very far from here.

Doctor: Maybe I’ll send you letter you can take over with you to any good hospital at your side if you can’t be making it here. But you must come here at least once in two months.

Mum: Thank you doctor. God bless you.

I acted as if all what he said did not get to me, all I wanted is to be on my feet back. Being on wheel chair will limit how much I can pursue my goals. It might even force change my goals. I decided to build appositive mind and believe I will walk again.

A week after I woke up, I was discharged from the hospital as the hospital was filled by my fellow corps members in the same local government, clothed in NYSC outfits. They were led by Temmy and our LI.

Temmy: Happy passing out my brother. We came together and you almost left me alone.

Me: Passing out? How?

Temmy: Hmm, you were out for four months bro.

Me: Four months? Like I was in coma?

Temmy: Yes, I thought I’ve lost you.

Me: And I survive? In Nigeria? For four months?

Temmy: It’s a miracle, I’m sure God answered our prayers.

Me: Coma, four months, in Nigeria, ALIVE!!!? There is something you are not telling me.

Temmy: Don’t worry bro, we’ll talk about everything later. LI is here.

Me: I’m still confused

Temmy: Just chill. We’ll be going home tomorrow. I’ve brought your phone for you (He handed me the phone has a little crack on the screen). The crack was when you fell down from the shot.

Me: Thanks bro. What of Funmi?

Temmy: She has gone back to Lagos for her POP

Me: She did not tell me

Temmy: We asked her not to, because we were not sure you are ready to know how long you were asleep. It’s the reason we did not bring your phone to you. Let’s just enjoy the moment, we’ll talk about what happened later. Thank God Dan is around, so there is no dulling moment.

Our LI and some corps members came into the room as we all laughed, joke and enjoy the moment together. I’m happy to be alive and to see that people love and care about me. The greatest joy man can have is to know people really care about you. Although I still can’t phantom what happened in-between the lost four months.

We left the hospital and went back to the lodge I had swear in anger not to ever enter again. My stuffs has already been packed as we were only waiting for the night to pass before we head back to our home town. Going back will be easier as Dan will go with his car while Temmy will drive mine. One thing I noticed was that Uncle Ben did not show up to even say hi that evening as he has not showed us since I woke up. Neither did I see Aunty Joy; well I think I’ve passed thinking about them.

While we were inside the sitting room discussing stuffs that had happened while I was in coma, Aunty Joy did come in, but was rejected by my mum. This might probably means, mum has been the one stopping them from visiting and I’ll not blame her for that. She needs to protect her son after all.

Mum: What did you want? You are here to finish the work right?

Joy: Cool down ma

Mum: Please leave, I’ve told you we’ll leave your house tomorrow and if you want us to leave tonight, we will.

Me: Mum, let her come in

Mum: No, they were the one trying to kill you. I don’t trust her or any of them

Me: Mum please, I’ll like to speak with her in pivate

Mum: What’s wrong with you Opeyemi? God just delivered me from one and you want to create another one?

Me: Mum, nothing will happen.

Mum: No problem, talk to her, but you are not going to court with anybody. Let them pay for their crimes.

Me: Court?

Mum: Just talk to her, but I’ll be watching.

Me: Thanks mum

I wheeled outside the sitting room as she sat beside me on a chair. We stayed there for like five minutes just looking. As I was about to break the silence, she stood up and hugged me on the chair as she starts to sob. I stylishly pushed her back but she held on to my hand and that was how I noticed she was wearing a different ring.

Me: You are married now?

Joy: Yes, I’m sorry you were not there

Me: Wao! A lot has really happen in these four months. Congratulations!

Joy: Thanks dear

Me: (Chucks) Dear? You are calling me dear? Well, I did not lose my memory, I still remembered everything that happened that day.

Joy: That day was a day to forget in our lives. It was an unfortunate day.

Me: Not for me. It’s a day I’ll never forget. Is there anything you want to tell me?

Joy: I’m just happy you are alive. I’ve missed you a lot. We all thought we’ve lost you but your determination to live is stronger than our thoughts. It’s really a miracle you are here talking, considering how we met you at the hotel room that day.

Me: Yeah, I’ve been hearing that from many people. Glory is to God. Don’t worry, by tomorrow, I’ll be out of your lives totally.

Joy: No, I don’t want you out of my life. Ben doesn’t want it either, he loves you so much.

Me: Wao! That’s the best thing I’ve heard all day. Uncle Ben loves me? I’ll rather believe the devil has accepted Christ and be born again.

Joy: Don’t judge with what happened that day. He really loves you, he was only confused and angry that day.

Me: Yeah, I was too. But it doesn’t matter anymore

Joy: Leaving his life will break him totally, he’ll be hopeless.

Me: Staying in his life will kill me totally, I’ll be hopelessly hopeless. Common look at me, I’m on wheels! Is that right to you? All because someone was confused and angry, anyway I’ll take my own fault, everybody should answer his father’s name.

Joy: Cool down Will

Me: I nearly died Aunty Joy. Oh! I mean I died, I’m only having a second chance. I was shot because of him. Maybe by his commands, who knows? Where is he anyway?

Joy: He’s in prison

Me: Prison, why?

Joy: He was arrested last month for attempting to kill you and one other lady, since he was the one they met there.

Me: That’s ridiculous, except if he was the one that sent them.

Joy: He didn’t send them but the other lady found at the scene and the hotel manager gave witness against him in the court.

Me: Victoria is alive?

Joy: Who is victoria?

Me: The other lady you mentioned. He did not attempt to kill me, at least he wasn’t there physically.

Joy: Will please, will you testify for him?

EPISODE TWENTY-NINE MFYL PR2

So many bad thoughts started creeping into my mind. Nobody knows where I am and I did not order for anything, which means no hotelier will come into the room. My legs and hands were still tied to the chair and I’m getting weaker as the hood would not allow me breath properly. I couldn’t shout neither could I move.

I tried to move the chair and my body together even though it was painful. After a forceful try, I found myself on the floor still firmly tied to the chair. Only God knows what time of the night it was that time. I started giving up, accepting my fate. I thought of mum and Debby, how the news of my demise will break them. This gave me a little motivation to try again. After many struggle, the rope used to tie my leg loosened a little and I was able free my legs but my arms was still tied. The way it was tied, there is no way I could untie it without breaking one of my arms or both. As I tried to force break one of the arms, somebody entered into the room without knocking.

Voice: Oh my God Willie, you want to kill yourself?

Me: Who are you?

Voice: Cool down!

She sat me back on the chair and removed the hood from the back. Afterwards, she started loosening the ropes

Voice: Do you trust me?

Me: I trust you can lose that rope and let me go, even though I don’t know you.

Voice: You still don’t recognize my voice?

Me: At this moment, I can’t recognize my own voice.

She untied the rope completely and I felt relieved but bringing my arms back to the front was so painful. She came to my front and it was then I discovered it was victoria.

Me: You! Who are you? You tied me, drugged me and what God knows. Wait! What did you and your friend did while I was out?

Victoria: You seem not to be scared, I’m here and you are not making any move to attack me. You are exactly who I was told you are.

Me: What do you mean?

Victoria: I was told your weakness is forgiveness. You forgive people easily and believe anything and that makes you vulnerable.

Me: You did not answer my question and why are you here? Why did you untie me?

Victoria: You said I’m beautiful. That’s the first time anybody will tell me that this year. The best they will say is I’ll be good in bed. Let’s just say I want you to live.

Me: Really? After all the drugs you gave me? Anyway, I was almost breaking myself free before you came, so I’ll still survive.

Victoria: (Laughs) Even if you free yourself, you think you’ll live? We left you to die, that’s what my client wanted.

Me: Why didn’t you just kill me then? I passed out twice; you could have killed me then.

Victoria: I don’t kill. I’m not an hire killer but a sharp babe. I do what people want but not killing. I didn’t agree to kill you but my client won’t relent. All I’ll tell you is to be careful of those you call friends and I’ll advice you to leave this place before day light,

Me: Why?

Victoria: Because my client will surely come back for you.

Me: To finish what you could not do right? And why do you think I can’t get you arrested for what you did?

Victoria: (Smiles) It’s your weakness and I am prepared if you try anything (She showed me a shot gun well packed in her brown hand bag)

Me: I thought you said you don’t kill?

Victoria: This is for protection. I have to leave now. Please take care, I put some drinks in fridge for you. I’ll call you.

She carried her bag and left the room as I watch in amazement. It’s either she uses something on me or I don’t have ball at all. Though I wasn’t scared speaking to her but I could have at least made some move, this is my primary abductor! “But she has gun, so it’s better I remain my gentle Will”.

I felt it will be unsafe to sleep in the same room or the same hotel again but it’s late already, walking around in the streets might put me in more danger than I face here. I call on the hotel manager to check if I could get an empty room to swap. He gave me another room, though after collecting some tips.

“I want to believe the manager knows something about everything I went through there, because I can’t phantom how such thing happened for a long period and nobody knows anything.”

After settling in the new room, I switched on my phone and that was when I knew it was 3:30AM in the morning.

I remembered Temmy, Funmi and Rachael; I hope they weren’t sent out after I left. I put a call through to Funmi and she picked almost immediately.

Funmi: Will where are you? (I could sense she’s crying)

Me: Cool down, I’m in an hotel. What’s wrong?

Funmi: Where are you, I need to see you

Me: It’s almost 4am in the morning dear, we’ll see at day break. Hope they didn’t disturb you?

Funmi: Not at all, they even treated us well. I think it’s that woman poisoning Uncle Ben’s heart.

Me: Why did you think so?

Funmi: He kept coming to us to ask if you have called. The last time he came, he was really worried.

Me: He shouldn’t be, I’m fine. You’ll have to leave that place today

Funmi: Why? Are you not coming here?

Me: No, I’ll get a new apartment today

Funmi: Getting new apartment won’t be that easy dear, besides, what of Temmy?

Me: Of course we’ll go together, except he prefer to stay.

Funmi: He’s not been sleeping too.

Me: Where is he?

Funmi: In the sitting room

Me: Where are you?

Funmi: I’m in your room with Rachael

Me: Can you got to the sitting room and give him the phone?

Funmi: Okay, give me some minutes.

She terminates the call and called back like a minute after.

Me: Hello

Funmi: Will it’s me

Me: You are not giving it to Temmy?

Funmi: Uncle Ben is with him in the sitting room and he’s crying

Me: Who is crying?

Funmi: Uncle Ben. Temmy also look so worried, I couldn’t go to them.

Me: Okay let me call him directly

Funmi: That’s better. Please come as soon as possible dear

Me: I’m okay dear. I’ll call you

I put a call through to Temmy and he picked immediately.

Temmy: Will is that you?

Me: Cool down bro, what’s the problem?

Temmy: Oh! Thank God, where are you? (I heard Uncle Ben asking him to hand over the phone to him)

Ben: Hello William, this is Ben. Hope nobody hurt you? Hope you are safe?

Me: Thank you sir, I’m safe now.

Ben: Where are you presently?

Me: I’m sorry I can’t tell you that sir, can I speak with Temmy?

Ben: Forget all that happened earlier; please tell me where you are. I need you to be safe.

Me: Why? So that you can handle me over to police for fraud or what? Just tell me the police station you are taking me to, I’ll go there in the morning.

Ben: Please listen (His voice shaking) We’ll talk about all that happened later. You are not safe where you are and it’s killing me. Please where are you? (Temmy was also asking from the background)

I remembered what Victoria told me about being careful of people I call friend. She couldn’t be talking about Temmy, I’m certain of that, but who was she referring to? I hope telling them my location won’t put me in more danger.

Me: Okay, I’m in an hotel

Ben: Which hotel?

Me: Does it matter?

Ben: I does! We are coming to pick you there right away.

Me: We are in the middle of the night. I’ll come over by myself.

Ben: It might be late! Please tell me where you are.

I conceded to his pressure and gave him the address and room number of where I was. He toldme they are coming right away. I called Funmi back and told her where I was. I also told her Uncle Ben is coming for me but I don’t trust anybody anymore.

I look around the room and calculate how I’ll escape if anything happens. I packed my stuffs together, not that I debagged it before. I was ready to move, either through the back or front door depending on where the adversary comes through.

I sat on the bed waiting and I was already dozing off when I heard a sound that looked like a gun shot. I pocket my car key and strapped my hunch bag to my back, ready to run. The whole place went quiet after the shot but I heard two successive sounds afterwards. To say the truth at that point, I had become water as all my bravery vapourises into thin air. Some minutes after the two successive gun shots, I heard a weak knock on the door. I immediately removed the sound of my phone and move closer to the back door.

The knock continued but it was becoming weaker. Later I heard a weak voice that sounds like that of Victoria “Please Open the door, it’s me victoria”. I started asking my brain if I should open or not. While contemplating, I heard another shot, this time it was coming from the back side of the building, which means going through the back door is also dangerous.

“Should I use Barcelona style and Open the door to attack first, or use Chelsea style and allow them to come to me so I can hit them at the counter?” I settled for the Chelsea style as I removed a light wall hanger stick to protect myself. That was all I could get.

The knock continues and I decided to open the door. “But come to think of it, how did she know I’m here?” After opening the door, I met Victoria lying down at the door.

Me: What’s wrong with you?

Victoria: (Speaking so weak) They are here, you need to run now.

I drew her inside the room and close the door behind me. I discovered she’s been shot at one of her thighs. As I tried to help her stop the bleeding by tying a cloth round the wounded thigh, somebody banged into the room as if the door wasn’t locked. I couldn’t believe who I saw behind him. He drew out a gun and pointed at me at the command of the person behind him. All I heard last was Victoria saying, “Please don’t kill him”.

EPISODE TWENTY-EIGHT MFYL PR2*

“Anger” according to the dictionary, is “a strong feeling of displeasure, hostility or antagonism towards someone or something, usually combined with urge to harm”. It is obvious nobody takes a right decision in anger. Anger is a product of emotion, and decisions made base on emotions are always catastrophic.

It was too late for me to be sorry for myself. I took my decision to leave based on how I felt that very moment. I should have at least left with either Temmy or Funmi or all of them. And now I’ve off my phone which means there is no way I could be traced.

I woke up from the blackout sitting on a chair with my legs and hand tied backwards to the chair in the same room I lodged. The first lady that came into the room was the only one with me. I tried to untie myself and be free since I’m dealing with just a lady in the room and I can’t see her holding any weapon. I thought I could handle her.

Lady: Don’t even bother, you are still weak and that rope was well tied.

Me: Who are you? What’s my offense?

Lady: Cool down Mr. nice guy. You did not do anything wrong. I’m only being asked to watch you and you coming here made my work easier. Just chill, my clients will be here soon.

Me: Who is your client and what does he want from me?

Lady: Well one of them want to talk, while the other needs something from you, Rich Boy.

Me: I am not a rich boy, if what you are looking for is money, you are on a long thing. My mother got nothing to give you.

Lady: Although I don’t need your money, but you are wrong. Your Uncle is enough to meet any demand I make. He wouldn’t want to lose his heir.

Me: (Laughing) That would have worked yesterday, or early this morning, but right now, you are on a long thing. He’s no more my Uncle. He doesn’t care where I am and I don’t care too.

Lady: You are wrong again. They’ve all been in the streets looking for you. I’m sure police will be involved soon.

Me: I don’t believe you. even if it’s true, they can’t involve police because I left home by myself.

Lady: You might be right with that. By the way, happy birthday to you.

Me: Thank you so much (Laughing)

Lady: Why are you laughing? Those ropes are not paining you I guess

Me: I’m laughing because it’s funny

Lady: What’s funny?

Me: I’m a twin and my twin sister was kidnapped earlier today, now I’m being kidnapped too by a lady. What a way to celebrate our birthday.

Lady: You are not being kidnapped. The moment you give what is demanded of you by my clients, you are free.

Me: You must be very strong for two people to trust you to kidnap me.

Lady: Actually only one paid for it, the other person is my friend. It’s a favour to her.

Me: Wao! Kidnapping me is favouring somebody. I don’t know I’m that precious.

Lady: Irony of life right?

Me: Let me guess, your client is Fred right?

Lady: Which Fred? Seems you’ve offended many people. When my client comes, you’ll see.

Me: And who is your friend you are favouring? What does he wants?

Lady: She not he. She needs something only you could give her.

Me: And she must ask while I’m in bonds? That’s more like stealing. Anyway, it’s alright.

Lady: How’s that hand?

Me: You tied to the back, what do you think?

Lady: Sorry about it, it’s only for a while. All will end tonight.

Me: Am I supposed to rejoice with that?

Lady: Maybe. What will you like to eat?

Me: (Laughs) You said all will end tonight and now you are asking what I’ll like to eat. It’s better you put it as “what will you like as your last supper?”

Lady: (Laughing) You need to eat something. That drug will last longer in your body without food. Tell me what you have appetite for.

Me: You

Lady: I don’t get you?

Me: I have appetite for you

Lady: You want to eat me?

Me: In and out

Lady: (Laughs) I thought they said you are not a player.

Me: I play when there is a good ball and nice playing field.

Lady: Hmm, you are calling your abductor good?

Me: I thought you said you did not kidnap me. Anyway, being my abductor does not stop you from being beautiful.

Lady: (She chucks) Beautiful? Are you blind? The drug is still working great in you.

Me: Maybe, but I know beauty when I see one, no matter the condition I am.

Lady: Hmm, thank you.

Me: So what’s your name?

Lady: Call me V girl

Me: V for Venessa?

Lady: No, Victoria, but why am I telling you all that, as if we are friends? Eat Mr. Man, I’ll bring you food.

She left the room and off the light. She also locked the door from the back. I tried to untie myself picturing those Hollywood moment I’ve seen but all my effort results in nothing. The rope was strong and well tied.

She came back with another lady, probably the friend she was favouring. The lady hides herself where I could not directly see her before the light was put on by Victoria. She also brought some food and wanted to feed me by herself. I rejected the food but was very thirsty and therefore took the drink from her.

Some minutes after taking the drinks I started feeling dizzy. I couldn’t see clearly again as I was struggling not to sleep.

Victoria: This thing works on you faster than I thought. You said you want to eat me, well here I am. You have enough to eat now.

She started pulling off her clothes as the friend who has left her hiding followed suit. I felt so weak and dizzy and was dozing off per time but victoria kept waking me up.

She started to caress my body and eventually loosened the ropes. I tried to stand I tried to stand immediately and run but I was too weak to lift any part of the body. The only part of my body working right that moment was my ear, as I could hear their conversation audibly, though I couldn’t recognize the voices again.

They carried me on the mattress and started caressing my body together as they remove my clothes while I blurredly watched on helplessly. I could feel a hand on my guy but even him was too weak to respond to stimuli. I then heard the two voices arguing with themselves.

Voice1: I told you that will make him weak

Voice2: No, we were too slow; maybe we should apply the second one.

Voice1: That might kill him, he doesn’t do drugs

Voice2: You mean, he doesn’t even smoke or something?

Voice1: He doesn’t even take alcohol self

Voice2: Na wa o, that’s why that drug makes him this week.

Voice1: You’ve used this one before?

Voice2: Severally, men do take it themselves. You don’t know it?

Voice1: I don’t do stuffs like that, but I heard that man saying it can kill.

Voice2: That’s what I’m telling you. You are too soft. We’ll give him this one, just small quantity. It can’t kill him and if he went out for too long, water will do it.

Voice1: Are you sure? Please he must not die o.

Voice2: He won’t die, and even if he dies, you’ll still get what you want.

Voice1: No, it won’t make any sense again. I want him alive.

I heard another female voice different from the first two and I can’t tell if it’s my head playing tricks on me. I tried to recognize Victoria’s voice but I couldn’t as I could not pin the other two voices to anybody.

At that point I could not see anything again but I felt a needle entering my laps. Few seconds after I felt the needle pain, my third leg received an involuntary strength and I started feeling severe pain from it. Few minutes later I was out again.

I woke up tied to the chair again. I have my clothes back on as I could not remember anything from the point I was injected with whatever substance it was.

Victoria: You are back. We were scared you’ll not make it. My client is here but I’m sorry you can’t see him.

She uses hood to cover my face as the man came out from hiding and started speaking. I could sense the person was trying to fake voice but I still found the voice familiar.

Voice: Will Will, I heard you co-operate a lot. Don’t worry boy, you’ll soon be totally free. Your uncle owes me some dough and will not pay. So I needed you to ask him to pay but fortunately for you, he has paid after I called him this evening. We’ll tell them where you are but we won’t untie you. You know it’s dangerous.

Victoria: You never told me your name. But I heard him calling you Will, so permit me to call you Willie. Please take care of yourself, we’ll surely meet again.

I heard the man calling someone telling the person where I am as they both exit the room, leaving me covered with the hood.

EPISODE TWENTY-SEVEN MFYL PR2*

At this point I was filled with hatred, anger, fear and what have you. I have my twin sister and mother at the mercy of a psycho man who called himself husband. Uncle Ben and that woman whom I believe is my father’s twin sister just accused me of duping them, faking Albert. Come to think of it, I never ask for any of these. My mum was able to send me through school even before Daddy Orire showed up in my final year. We have our own house and we were okay.

“Honestly, their coming into my life has brought more confusion than peace. I wish my life can be reversed back to when it’s just myself, my mother and Debby. Life was so great like that. Even if Dan still shows like he did, I’m still comfortable with it. I’m going to take a harsh decision because of what Uncle Ben just did but I need to take care of Aramide and my mother first.”

Aramide narrated how they suffered at the hand of Vera’s father when I called her back.

Me: Hello Aramide

Aramide: Will, I’m still scared

Me: Cool down okay. He won’t come near you anytime soon.

Aramide: Are you sure?

Me: Yes I am, what of mother? Hope she wasn’t hurt anywhere?

Aramide: She was tied with rope and her mouth was plastered so she could not talk.

Me: Damn! How exactly did all these happened?

Aramide: Mum asked me to come home to celebrate my birthday. She said my step father wanted to celebrate it for me. I was reluctant but mum insisted so I came home yesterday. He indeed gave us a treat this morning and I was really surprised at all he did. My thought was he’s now a changed man, not knowing he had other things in mind.

Me: Menh!

Aramide: Everything changed this afternoon after he took Praise out to a place we don’t know and he then seized all our phones. He threatened us with a very sharp cutlass and grabbed me at a moment. Before we know what was going on, he had tied me with rope and plastered my mouth. When mum will not stop shouting and screaming for help, he did same to her. Vera tried so much to escape out of the house but was captured by one of his men who was already waiting outside.

Me: What was his main reason for doing this? Is it just for money?

Aramide: He said he’s been cheated

Me: Cheated how?

Aramide: He said you have money but only give to mother and neglect hi.

Me: Imagine! Do I know him? A man that asked my mother to abandon me is now asking me to be a son or what?

Aramide: He said mother is doing that because he doesn’t have a son.

Me: And whose fault is that?

Aramide: That time that mum was sick, he did planned it. It was to make both of us follow him to his herbalist. They told him if you forgive him and do the rituals forhim, he’ll have a male child.

Me: Imagine, I don’t have anything to forgive and I can never do any ritual. His case is OYO

Aramide: He knows you won’t want to do it, which is why they fake mother’s sickness. The plan was for you to do the ritual thinking you are doing it because of mother.

Me: Wao! Mum said it. Thank God he failed.

Aramide: Yes, it’s because he failed that he’s doing all these. He said he must be enjoying you as a son too.

Me: Funny human being. He doesn’t want me then, now he’s aspiring to be my father. Is he not eating from everything sent to mother?

Aramide: He eats the most self, but he wants monetary gifts.

Me: Who told him I have money. Am I working?

Aramide: I told him that, but he said he doesn’t care how you get the money.

Me: So where will you stay now?

Aramide: I don’t know, we’ll be going to camp next two weeks, I’m just waiting for the posting.

Me: Can you go to my mum till the camp time?

Aramide: That’s what I’m thinking but what of Vera, Praise and Mother?

Me: He can’t harm them. They are his blood but you are not. He can only harm them because of you. I’ll put a call through to mum now, you can go there when you are ready.

Aramide: Okay, thanks Will.

Me: Hope you still have enough on you?

Aramide: Yes, I did not spend a dime from the money you sent me for birthday.

Me: Okay, let me know if you need anything.

Aramide: Thanks Will.

I put a call through to my mum immediately I dropped the call to Aramide. I narrated the scenario to her and she accepted that Aramide should be staying with us on a permanent base, at least till she’s ready for marriage or have her own apartment.

I did not tell mum about the scenario I’m facing currently at the hand of Unccle Ben because I’m sure it will make her sad and regrettable.

Temmy: You told mum?

Me: No, she’ll be worried

Temmy: Let Uncle Ben cool down, we’ll explain everything to him

Me: I don’t feel like explaining.

Temmy: Why?

Me: Let him find out by himself. I didn’t ask for this, so I won’t push for it.

Temmy: Hmmm

Funmi: What will you do now?

Me: I’m thinking of leaving this place

Temmy: Why? Is it up to that?

Me: You know me Temmy, my mind is off this place already.

Temmy: But you can’t change your PPA

Me: We have approximately four months left to pass out, of course I’m not going to change the PPA. I’ll endure till the end but I want to change the resident. I won’t be comfortable living here, seeing them every now and then.

Rachael: I think you are taking it too far Will

Funmi: I agree, it’s not up to that

Rachael: Let things col down and then talk to him

Funmi: Talk to him dear.

I nodded in agreement but I wasn’t planning on doing anything they said. We went back to the lodge and the others were trying to lighting up the atmosphere as I lied down on a long chair, not responding to any of their play.

Some moments later, Aunty Joy came over to our lodge and demanded to talk to me in private. I declined to talk because I wasn’t in the mood but she insisted I must talk. Her reason was if I talk out, I’ll be relieved but I don’t buy that, because I do get angrier the more I talk. I succumbed to her pressure and spoke with her though.

Joy: You know how much you mean to him, that’s why he’s like that. You will do the same thing in his shoes.

Me: Really? I can’t be in his shoe anyway but if I am, I’ll rather listen than just conclude

Joy: Tell me the truth of this case. Who are you really?

Me: (I looked at her with an upset expression)

Joy: Don’t be upset dear, but I need to know.

Me: Why did you want to know?

Joy: You are forming a part of my life, I need to know who you are

Me: You need to know if I’m duping you too right?

Joy: Not necessarily but I need to know. Why can’t you just talk instead of arguing? All we want to know is if you are who you said you are.

Me: Who I said I am? Did I ever told you people I am someone before?

Joy: Okay, who you portray yourself to be.

Me: (My voice started rising) Really? Even you Aunty Joy? Do I know anybody when I enter this place? What do I even expect? Who will tsetse fly supports if not the open wounded.

Ben: (He and the woman met us where we talking outside the lodge) She asked you to tell us who you are

Woman: And If you cannot do that, pack your loads and leave this place immediately.

Me: Wao! That’s what I’ve been waiting to hear all day (Hearing our voices, Temmy, Rachael and Funmi all came out). I’ll do what you want. I’ll leave this place and never expect me here ever again. I’ll finish my service and leave your life. You should leave my life too, thank you.

Joy: That’s not what we are . . .

Me: Don’t bother! Come to think of it, I never ask any of you to love or accept me. Why didn’t you people leave me alone with my mother? God that has been taking care of us from day one is still there. Is it my fault that I was born a twin? Is it my fault that my father never showed up, not even once? Is it my fault that my mother dumped me and went with my twin to marry another man? If my father was caring enough, he would have look for the woman he impregnated before travelling to Ghana. Then I wouldn’t have been at the mercy of his brother who took care of me before he passed.

Ben: What are you talking about?

Me: Don’t bother. Just don’t come into my life or that of Debby or my mother again!

I stormed into the house, picked some clothes and my car key. I told Temmy, Funmi and Rahael I’ll call them as I drove out of the compound in anger without knowing where I was going. I eventually settled for an hotel where I lodged for the night. I switched off my phones to avoid disturbance from anybody.

Around 9pm in the evening, a lady came into my hotel room uninvited, claiming they told her I asked for a sex worker. While I was trying to chase her out, another lady came out of nowhere and pinches me with a syringe, emptying the content into my body immediately. That was all I know as I black out.

Amen, @Angelinastto. He's the reason why I'm here too. I had a chat with him on facebook. I told him i wrote a story, but I'm scared to put it out, he encouraged me and here I am, even though I'm still a work in progress but I'm still here, he was the first person to comment on the thread. The way he even relates with me was as if he knew me before. God bless you babsopey, greater you in Jesus name.
Honestly you guys are making me blush o. Thanks so much TY (my sister's name sake). Meet you at the very top. May God bless you.

Lol. Why shall you be too shy to accept the truth?

Well my people i have a confession to make. It will be a sin if i do not tell nairalanders if am unable to tell the world what babsopey did for me. When i started my story i got tired at a point due to lack of encouragement. Babs encouraged me and i felt welcomed. I never knew he writes as well. Many writters will never encourage a co writter because they would wantto remain on the spot light forever but babs raised me up when i was too weak to continue. God bless you for me babsopey. You were my adviser and back bone but now you are my mentor as a writter. Am greatful swidy! The sky is just your starting point.

EPISODE TWENTY-SIX MFYL PR2

On a day my uncle verbally adopted me, my love life settled St least to some extent and it's my birthday, I have every reason to be happy and joyous throughout the day but hearing my twin sister has been kidnapped on our birthday drown all form of happiness I've been exhibiting into the pull of worry and questions.

How was she kidnapped? Who did it and for what reason? I hope it's for money not otherwise. Thinking about otherwise is scary bearing in mind all the scary news one read online about people been kidnapped.

Me: Where, when, and by who?

Temmy: She didn't give me any details, she said she's been kidnapped and that's all.

Funmi: Try calling Vera back. (Temmy called Vera but her line was switched off)

Temmy: This is the number that just called me now.

Me: Something is not right. I'm sensing a foul play.

Temmy: I'm having the same feeling but we can't out rightly assume it's false until we hear from Aramide or at least Vera.

As we were talking and contemplating on how to go about the kidnap issue, Uncle Ben and the woman came over with Aunty Joy.

Ben: What's going on here, why do you have that face Will?

Temmy: His sister has been kidnapped

Ben: What? Debby is being kidnapped?

Funmi: No sir, not Debby but Aramide

Ben: Who's Aramide?

Joy: Your twin sister?

Ben/Woman: You are a twin? (I nod my head in acceptance)

Ben: Wao! You never told me that before, but how come? I still don't understand, how can you be a twin?

Me: I'll explain the misery to you later, all I want now is to confirm if she's truly kidnapped or not. And if she is, how do I get her out?

Ben: Cool down boy, we'll get to the bottom of this.

Temmy: Let's call mother

Me: if she has not heard, it might be counter-productive, but it's the last resort we've got now.

I put a call through to my biological mother but her number was switched off. Uncle Ben wanted to call and inform police about it but I declined it because we are not sure of what's going on. I still think it might be a prank and I really wish it is.

As we were still there thinking of a way forward, I received a call from Aramide.

Me: Hello Aramide, where are you? (there was no response). Hello, hello are you there? (the line went off)

Temmy: What did she say?

Me: Nothing, I heard nothing before the line went off

Temmy: Maybe we should call her back

Ben: Bad idea, maybe she only tried to call you while she wasn't been watched. If you call her back, you might put her in danger.

Funmi: She's online!

Me/Temmy: Really?

Funmi: Yes, I saw her on what'sapp just now but she's not responding

Temmy: We can use that to trace her location

Me: What'sapp doesn't show location

Temmy: But Google does

Ben: That’s if she allows it on her phone

Temmy: I pray she does

Me: I know her Google account password and I think Google location will be on except they've tampered with it.

We connect a system to the Internet and log on into her Google account then type "locate my phone" on the search box. It did work as Google brought out the map area of where the phone is. We zoomed in and narrowed it down to Ibadan. The circled area falls in the same area I expect their house to be in Ibadan.

Me: Temmy are you seeing what I'm seeing?

Temmy: Is this not their house area?

Me: Exactly, I think she's at home. Something is fishy here.

Ben: Maybe they are faking it

Temmy: That’s my thought, but why will they do that on her birthday?

Me: I don't think they are faking it

Temmy: Can we check where Vera is to ascertain?

Me: There is no way we can, I don't know her password.

My phone rings again and it's also Aramide. I picked it and put the phone on speaker.

Me: Hello Aramide

Voice: This is not Aramide Mr Man

Me: Who's I'm I speaking with?

Voice: My name is Bosska and I want you to listen very well.

Me: I'm all hears

Voice: I'm currently holding your sister and I'm going to kill her in the next two hours if you don't comply

The voice sounds so familiar but I couldn't pin it to anybody because the tone was too deep. Another question is, how did the person knows she's my sister

Me: I heard you perfectly sir, what do you want?

Voice: You are going to transfer some amount of money into her account before the next two hours or I kill her!

Me: But today is not a wor...

Voice: Shut up boy (The voice sounds more clearer but I still could not pin it). You'll transfer the money or I'll kill her

Uncle Ben signal to me to ask how much

Me: I'll send it sir, it's how much?

Voice: I'll get back to you shortly. (he terminates the call)

Temmy: That’s voice sounds very familiar

Me: Exactly, but I couldn't pin it to anybody

Ben: Let's just do whatever he wants, he will be caught. He isn't a professional kidnapper. If he is, he won't ask you to send money into the victim's account.

Temmy: I think he wants to withdraw it from the ATM.

Ben: That will limit the amount he can ask for.

Me: He could hold her for more than a day to withdraw all the money. He could also transfer the money into his own account on the ATM but at least, the ATM will capture his face and statement of account will show the account the money is transferred to.

Ben: That’s right, I think I should take over from here

Temmy: I have a suspect in mind, and if it's the person, he won't want to speak with any other person

Ben: Who are you suspecting?

Before Temmy could answer, my phone rang again from Aramide's line.

Me: Hello

Voice: Now listen, you'll send five hundred thousand naira now.

Me/Temmy/Ben/Funmi/Rachael/Woman: What?

Voice: Who are those with you?

Me: I'm sorry, they were just doing their own. But I don't have that much for now.

Voice: Better look for it, I don't care if you sell your car, just send the damn money.

Me: You said 2hrs, where would I get buyer in that short period. (Uncle Ben signal to me, to say I'll pay). Okay, I'll send it. But how am I sure you won't kill her still.
Voice: Why will I kill her? All I need is the money

Me: Alright I'll send. . .

I heard some noise in the background that sounds like somebody saying "Police are here". The line was still on but the noise continued and I couldn't hear the voice speak again. After some minutes, somebody speak into the phone.

Voice2: Hello

Me: Hello sir, what's going on? Hope you've done nothing to my sister.

Voice2: Your sisters and mother are fine. We've arrested your father though

Me: What?

Voice2: I am a police officer, we rushed down here after bring tipped of by one of their neighbors. Hope you've not send any money?

Me: No sir, please can I speak with my sister?

Police : She's still in shock but I'll give the phone to her. I suggest you give her some time.

Me: Alright sir. Thank you officer

Police: You are welcome (he terminates the call)

Me: I can't believe what just happened.

Temmy: He was my suspect. I know it, damn!

Ben: Who is the fellow? I heard the police man saying your father

Temmy: Vera's father

Ben: Who is Vera?

Me: One of my younger sisters

Woman: You have more than one sister?

Me: Yes, I have three younger sisters and a twin sister.

Ben: I'm honestly lost here. I only know you and Deborah. Where is all of this coming from?

Woman: We'll need you to explain better

Ben: Your mother gave birth to all of them? Are they all children of your father or your mother remarried that I don't know? (His voice started getting tensed)

Me: If you don't mind, I'll prefer to tell you everything while I'm calm, at this moment, I need to hear my sister's voice.

Ben: (shouting) No! I need some answers. Have you guys been playing us all these years?

Woman: I told you I never trust that woman. So you are not a real Albert?

Me: Okay listen! The person you know as my mother is not my real mother and the person you knew as my father is not my real father. They only took care of me because I was abandoned by my own parents while I was still an infant.

Ben: What? Which means you only adopt the name Albert. What's the meaning of all these?

Me: I am an Al...

Woman: Shut up boy! You are a thief, crook and 419. I'm sure your mother knows about this. (facing Uncle Ben) Remember I always tell you not to trust that woman. My spirit was never at peace with her

Me: Seriously, what...

Ben: Shut up Will! Wao, I can't believe this (he stormed out of the place as the woman and Aunty Joy followed him)

I received a call from Aramide immediately after

Me: Aramide how are you now?

Aramide: Will, he has escaped from the police and I'm really scared. The police told us we are not safe anymore.
