EPISODE TWENTY-FOUR MFYL We hugged while I boarded a taxi going to the garage. The taxi I boarded unfortunately got stuck in a heavy traffic caused by a trailer that fell over the road. It took the driver up to 1hr to get to a junction where he was able to bypass the traffic. I finally got to the motor park only to discovered one bus just left, making me the first person in an eighteen sitter bus. That's going to take forever to get filled up as evening is approaching fast. I sat in the front waiting for other passengers to come as I've got no option. While waiting, my phone rang and it's Temmy Me: Hello Temmy Temmy: Have you moved? Me: Not at all, I'm the first person in the bus Temmy: Oh! That will take a while. Just let me know when you land. Me: Surely His call sounds strange and unusual but I discarded it, thinking maybe he's just being caring. I bought a cold lacasera with two gala and was eating while surfing the net to distract myself from the reality I've found myself. My phone rang again and surprisingly it's Funmi. That was when I admit what Temmy said earlier, I am indeed angry. I ignore the call as I don't think I want to speak to her that moment, maybe when I'm back to school and that's if she'll allow it. She called again and after the third time she stop calling and sent a text message that reads "I am waiting for you, right behind your bus". I first thought I was misreading and then I read it again and look back from the bus but could not see anybody. "Was she trying to play prank on me and how did she know I'm here". That explains Temmy’s call, he's the informant. Temmy seems to like and prefer Funmi. She sent another message as I was still looking around from the bus and that reads "step down from the bus now, you can't see me from the inside" I did step down from the bus and walk down to the back of the bus but still couldn't find anybody. I started getting infuriated and was going back to my sit when one of the conductors called my attention to somebody waiving to me. I face the direction and it was indeed Funmi. I walked towards her and discovered she packed her car away from the sight of the garage people. Funmi : Why didn't you pick my calls. Me: I thought you were busy Funmi: But I'm the one calling Me: The last time I called, you told me you are busy and shun me off. Once beaten, twice shy. Funmi: I did not shun you. I was indeed busy that time. Was that the reason you did not call me again? Not even a message on whatsapp or bbm, yet I could see you were online. Me: After our last conversation, if you were me, will you call you? Funmi: Of course I will call me, because I'll understand I'm really busy. Me: That's the difference, you are not me Funmi: Are you angry? Me: Why would I be? I've got no right to be angry Funmi: Will, you don't forget things easily, why are you using my statement against me. Me: Against you ke, why would I do that? Anyway, experience they say is the best teacher. Funmi: Are we still friends? Me: Hundred percent we are friends Funmi: I'm sorry if I offended you with my speech or actions. I meant no harm. Me: No problem, we are good Funmi : Really? Are you sure? You still sound angry. Me: (Of course I'm angry) Yes we are good. Funmi: Then prove it Me: (I hate it when a lady ask me to prove something because to them it could mean anything and if one did not do what they are specifically expecting, it's war) How do you want me to prove it? Funmi: Go home with me Me: I am not going to Lagos as you can see Funmi: I know. I'm going to your side. My dad has been working there for the past four years. Me: Oh! You never mention that before. I thought he's in Lagos Funmi: He started a branch of his company there four years ago because of the availability of raw materials around there Me: Which company is that? Funmi: Albert-Simeon Foods and Drinks ASFD Me: He co-owned it? Since you surname is Simeon or is he bearing Albert also? Funmi: That's a little complicated, you'll know about it later. Me: I know that company. That's where Daddy Orire, the man that do send me money works. I heard he's one of the top officials there. Mum was even telling me he's trying to work my place there after service year. Funmi: Really? Then he'll be close to my Dad. I don't know much about the branch though. This will be my second time there. Me: Oh, good to know it's your father's Company Funmi: So will you go with me? Me: I don't think I have option, do I? Funmi: No you don't. We both laughed as she followed me down to the bus to pick my bag only to discovered a lady is already sitting there pushing my bag to the second passengers sit in the front. Lady: Are you the one here? Me: Yeah Lady: I'm sorry I can't sit too close to the driver. The gear handle will be disturbing me, besides the sit is too high Me: You could have pick another sit at the back then (I look at back and discovered like five people were already inside the bus) Lady: I did not meet you here Me: But you met my bag Lady: That's none of my business, I'm sitting here and no mountain can move me Me: (I started laughing seriously) Mountain? Lady: You are laughing at me right? Instead of you to ask politely you are laughing. I'm still waiting for the mountain that will move me from here. Me: (Still laughing) Please can you pass my bag to me? Lady: I can't carry any bag Me: Okay excuse me and come down, so I can carry it, since I can't climb on you. Lady: You think you are wise, I should come down so you can sit here right? Me: (Getting angry now) I'm not dragging sit with you madam, just get me my bag Lady: I'm not madam (She handed the bag to me) Me: Thank you (I started to leave) Lady: Are you leaving? Me: Yes, I want you to have enough place to sit. Lady: You are angry, I was only kidding o, come back I'll go to the back sit. I could hear other passengers complaining they are losing two other passengers, meaning they'll stay longer there. Sometimes we encounter people like that who are always frustrated. Best way to deal with them is to be cool and let them have their way before they transfer their frustration on you. Funmi asked me to drive but I declined for the fact that I don't have drivers license. We embarked on the journey and we are expected to spend an average of two hours before getting to destination. After a little silence I decided to open the conversation Me: Temmy told you where I was right? Funmi: Yeah, you saw me in school and refuse to even say hi Me: I thought you were busy (She look at me with an awkward expression) I'm sorry Funmi: On a serious note, I'm highly offended Me: I'm sorry about it Funmi: You did not even ask what you did before saying sorry Me: I was going to ask Funmi: You were that ill and did not tell me at all Me: Hmm Funmi: It's really not cool. You make me look really bad. Me: Really, I'm sorry about that Funmi: I heard it was Janet taking care of you. You could have called me instead of her. Me: I did call you, and funny I did not call her Funmi: (She was silent for a while) When you called, you didn't tell me anything Me: Really Funmi, you weren't ready to speak to me. You shun me off remember? Funmi: Because I was still angry Me: About what? Funmi: Don't bother Me: You've started again. The message that made you angry that time was from Janet and I didn't ask for it Funmi: Why will she be sending you that kind of message. And then you allowed her to nurse you Me: (I could sense Jealousy) Funmi I really want you there instead but you weren't available Funmi: You did not try enough to reach me. You could have send text message Me: (It's obviously I wasn't going to win this argument and I won't want to spoil the perceived good mood we are having back) Okay I'm sorry. Funmi: (She gave me that funny look that means, I'm not satisfied) Just sorry? Me: (Of course I can't touch you, you are driving) I'll make it up to you Funmi: By falling sick again? No, don't make it up Me: (Laughing seriously) I will make it up in another way. |
EPISODE TWENTY-THREE MFYL On my final paper day, I received a call from my mother in the morning before I went for the paper by 12pm. Me: Hello ma Mum: Hello “Oko mi” (my husband; a typical way Yoruba mothers call their son). How are you? Me: I’m fine mum. I’m writing my final paper today. Mum: Glory be to God, I’m happy God has put our doubters to shame, your success means a lot to me than you can imagine dear. I’m the happiest mother on earth today. Me: Thanks mum, you are the best ever. I’m so happy. Mum: By God’s grace you won’t struggle to get job. Me: Amen. How are you mum? Mum: Your mother is doing great dear. What of Temiloluwa (Temmy)? Me: He’s here. We are both writing our final exams Mum: I’m happy both of you are still good brothers. Temmy: (Shouting from the bottom side of the mattress) Mummy we are now graduate o! Mum: Okare jare omo mi (Well done my son). Opeyemi I want you to come home today immediately after your paper. Me: Why mum? I still have project defense, both internal and external. Mum: You’ll go back on Sunday or Monday. There is somebody I need you to meet and there are urgent things we need to discuss. Me: (Urgent thing to discuss? She has never said that to me before. I hope all is well) Hope all is well mum? Mum: All is beautiful dear. Me: What of Debby, is she coming home too? Mum: Deborah is at already home. It’s you we are waiting for. Me: Okay mum. I should be home before 7pm. Mum: Please come earlier, you know I don’t like night travelling and hope you have enough on you. Me: Yeah, Daddy Orire sent me some money last week like he has been doing. Mum he sends money to me almost every two weeks but wouldn’t pick my calls. Mum: I really don’t know where you both met. He likes you a lot. He’s already working on how you’ll be employed at the company where he works. He also said he'll love you to meet her daughter later. Me: Hmm. Meeting her daughter? Hope it’s not what I think? Mum: Whatever you think dear. Marrying her daughter won’t be a bad idea, though I don’t want to interfere in your love life. Go back to your book now; we’ll talk better when you come in the evening. Me: (Better don’t come with that. It might be the point I disobey you o) Okay Mum, see you in the evening. “Mum wants me to meet somebody. Is she planning to re-marry? Although it’s been long since she lost her husband and I felt she has gotten used to it, still I’ll be happy for her if that makes her happy. I would have preferred she tell me who the person is right now, because I’m not sure she will allow me to be back as early as I’ll want to, yet I have unfinished business to cater for here” The paper had already started and I was sitting in the front row as usual. The main reason I sit in the front is to avoid disturbances from “shh”, “eh”, “guy” people. Some would have started asking you from number one and you’ll wonder if they ever open their note or attend any class. Apart from the fact that it’s wrong both in the eye of school management and God, distractions affect my speed and performance negatively in an exam hall. Whenever I start writing, I don’t like to stop until I’ve got nothing to write again. Like 30 minutes to the end of the paper according to one of the supervisors, I was already done answering what was required and was cross checking my script when we all heard one of the supervisors arguing with a student. The guy was caught cheating by exchanging his script with another student. Unfortunately, the other person involved was Uche. The supervisor insisted they both must fill the examination malpractice form and that will automatically mean expulsion or four semester suspension at least. It took the intervention of our project supervisor whom course exam we are writing before they let them go. As a punishment, they were both sent to the front row and unfortunately for me, Uche was brought right by my side. The moment I saw her, I know trouble is looming. I pondered on my best option and decided to submit that moment but was cautioned by Temmy who was sitting by my other side. We’ve both decided earlier before the exam started not to be submitting earlier than others as this has led to missing papers for several people due to the carelessness of the invigilators coupled with the fact that the hall is always rowdy as people tends to submit their script when the invigilator threatened to leave the hall after the allotted time. I device another method of escape by laying my head on the table pretending to be sleeping but this does not bother Uche at all as she was still calling me. One thing I don’t understand about her is, I know she’s not dull, in fact in their click; she looks like the most brilliant as she always have something to say when questions were being asked in the class. Uche: Will, Will, please now. Did you do number 6? (I shook my head to say No) What of number 8? (I shook my head to say No as I only did the first 4 questions with number 1 as compulsory) Then which one did you do? Supervisor: Who is that? Uche: (she stood up and raised her hand) Sir I want to. . . Supervisor: You again? What do you want? Uche: I want to borrow his pencil and eraser Supervisor: (Laughing profusely) You came for exam without pencil and eraser when you know you’ll need one and you are just asking when you have just 25min to go. Are you done with it? Me: Yes sir Supervisor: Please give it to her so we can have peace. By the way, I don’t think any question here requires drawing. Uche: (Talking very fast in quick succession as she came to collect the pencil) Please help me write number 1 on your question paper, I’ll exchange with you when you are done. Sincerely this Uche of a girl must be a devil, because I could sight from afar she has done question number one. In fact her answer booklet is filled almost to the last sheet. Why will she want to do what nearly put her in trouble just now? I guess she’s banking on the fact our supervisor is around to save her. I was so happy to hear the supervisor say “You have 15min more” to which almost everybody responded with “Haa! Please o”. The moment I sight like three people standing to submit, I followed suit as Temmy also did same, even though Uche was protesting. She later said “Wait for me o” when she discovered I wasn’t going to stop. We were already leaving after taking pictures with some of our colleagues when Uche came blocking Uche: Will, you are too wicked Me: Really, what did I do? Uche: I asked you to write me number one but you refused. Me: Firstly, I’ll be going to senate to do clearance, not to face panel for malpractices. Secondly, why are you like that? Uche: What do you mean, is it wrong to ask for help? Me: In this case very wrong. You almost landed in trouble yet you won’t desist. Uche: You are minding that man, it’s shakara jor. Me: I also saw you’ve done number one and almost all questions required of you, why are you still asking? Uche: Won’t I crosscheck if I’m right? Me: And they told you I’m holding the marking scheme. Uche: You are good now. By the way, let’s snap before you go or we meet in the evening. Will you be coming to the level award party? Me: Really, that sounds nice. How many planks will be there? Uche: Plank how? Me: So I can know how many times I’m going to pass out Uche: Haba! You don’t forget things. Nobody is going to fight there. Let’s go together now. Me: Okay, I’ve heard you Uche: Which colour will you be wearing? Wear white and black with red tie, I’ll wear red and black too. Me: That’s cool. Uche: Or just wear red shirt with black tie. Should I come to meet you in the hostel or you’ll come to my side? Me: Let’s meet at the party Uche: Are you serious? Is your friend also coming? Me: We all paid for the cloth and party now, so he’s surely coming. We’ll come together. Uche: Come with wine o Me: Yes wine, with plank. You know we might need to hit somebody Uche: Be serious jor. Good wine o Me: Okay. See you at the party. If Uche believe I’m really coming to the party, then she’s dumber than I thought. Temmy and I headed straight for our lodge and getting to the library, we saw Funmi having conversation with that new guy. Temmy wanted to call her but I forbid him. He did went ahead to meet her but I told him he might not meet me at home, because I have to travel down immediately. I don’t want to wait till the time my mother will start chasing me phone call. I was ready to move but was waiting for Temmy to arrive. “I don’t know what he’s discussing with Funmi for that long”. After some minutes, he eventually showed up. Me: You know I was waiting for you right? Temmy: Sorry bro, I was watching a drama in school. A student was running away from lecturers and school securities. Me: En en, why are they chasing him? Temmy: I later heard he impersonated for somebody and was caught, so he ran for his dear life (We both laughed) Me: Funny people. I have to go now before mum starts calling Temmy: Alright. Let me drop these then I’ll see you off. (He dropped the bag he was carrying and we both head to the road) Branch our side o, they will send something through you. When will you be back? Me: I’m not sure. With the way mum was talking, I don’t know what I’ll meet at home. Temmy: Don’t stay long I beg, except you want this place to get boring for me. Me: You’ve got Rachael now Temmy: Rachael still got papers to write. By the way, you didn’t tell Funmi you were ill? Me: Why would I tell her? She was the one I first called when I started feeling somehow, but she shunned me off, forming busy. Temmy: She was really surprised and sorry when I told her. She was angry she wasn’t there. Me: I’m even surprised you told her self Temmy: Hmm, where is that coming from? Is she no more your heart desire? Me: Believe me Temmy, I love her so much, but I’m no more interested in the drama. It’s getting boring already. Temmy: She finished her paper this morning also. Me: Oh, good for her Temmy: Hope this is not because of Janet’s break up with her fiancé? Because I can see you guys are getting back together Me: Janet was there when I needed somebody. Janet has nothing to do with it anyway; I just felt I’m getting fed up of her games. Temmy: That’s the problem with love. It’s because you love her that you are angry at her games. Me: I agree I do love her, but I’m not angry. I’m just getting back to my senses. When I come back, I’ll see what happens with her or somebody else. Temmy: If you said so. I’m sure you guys will settle things soon. Me: If she want it settled. By the way, we aren’t fighting, just playing games. Temmy: I hear you. But I should tell you what I’ve found out. She’s really sorry about not being able to be with you during that illness and I can tell you she really loves you. I stylishly ask if she’s already dating that guy. Though she didn’t completely open up to whom the guy was, but I’m positive they are not dating. Me: (I am so happy to hear that, but I was going to pretend) You mean not dating yet. Anyway, I’ll call you when I get home. Temmy: Alright bro. Call her too, she really want you to. You are the man bro, stop acting like a lady. Me: I’ll think about it. Later Temmy: Don’t think about it. Call her, I know you want to, stop being stubborn. And don’t be distracted by Janet. Her fiancé will still come back; it’s not the first time they are breaking up. Wish you safe journey. We hugged while I boarded a taxi going to the garage. |

EPISODE TWENTY-TWO MFYL As I was on my way home, my phone rang and it was Janet. I really don’t think I can add her disturbance to my current predicament; therefore I ignore the call only for me to hear a voice over my shoulder Janet: So this how you do reject my calls Me: Janet, how are you doing? Janet: I am fine but you are obviously not. What’s wrong? Me: I’m okay, just tired. Janet: Tired at this time of the day? This period is one of your best reading time and you are already heading home. Something is definitely wrong. Me: (Wao! She knows me that much) I’m fine Janet, I just needed to rest. Janet: I don’t believe you. What’s troubling you? Please tell me. Me: (Something in me wants to start pouring out everything to her, but I felt it’s a wrong idea) I am indeed fine. Is something wrong with my face? (Forcing a smile) Janet: Don’t bother forcing the smile. I know you more than that. Something deep is troubling you, but you didn’t want to share it. Me: I’m fine Janet. Where are you coming from? Janet: I’m coming from the class and don’t try to change the subject. I just want you to know I’m here if you need to talk to somebody. Me: (I indeed need to talk to somebody, I just don’t think it’s you) thanks Janet. I really appreciate it. Janet: Whatever it is you are going through, it will be resolved okay. Remember you are a strong personality and I believe in you but I need you to believe in yourself. Me: (Okay, Who am I speaking with? I can’t believe these are coming from Janet. I’ve never seen this side of her before. It’s really cool) Thank you Janet. Janet: I know you read a lot of books, and it’s because of you I started reading them too. This is the time to start applying all those principles you’ve read about. Me: (I’m really going to explode, Janet read books now?) Hmm. You are right. I’ll be good. Where are you heading to? Janet: I’m done for this morning, going back to my lodge. Hope you’ve eaten? Me: Not really, cooking takes time I can’t afford to waste in the morning. I’ll buy bread when I get to the lodge. Janet: Bread with what? Me: I really don’t know, maybe with tea or I take it alone. Janet: You’ll take bread alone? That’s ridiculous. Let’s go to my lodge if you don’t mind. Rachael should have prepared something better. Following her to their room looks like a bad idea at a very good time as I’ve not been to that room for a long time. I did follow her though as I’m currently in need of company, because being alone will surely bring back my worries. As we get closer to their lodge, that strange cold started again and this time with a feverish feeling. I was sweating profusely and was feeling being heated from the inside contrary to the rather cool atmosphere that looks like it’s going to rain any moment. I discarded it again and faked myself to be okay as I can’t afford to get ill at this point, I needed to study. We entered their room and met three other students (a lady and two guys) having a group study with Rachael. We met them on what looks like their recess time as they were laughing hard to the jokes of one the guys, the one with the name “SAUCE” printed to the back of his red customized polo shirt. I sat there a little, enjoying the jokes while waiting for Janet to bring the said food only for her to come back and say Rachael did not cook. She did offer to buy the bread I initially planned and fry some eggs with it but I declined as I was no more comfortable sitting there because the fever seems to be increasing in a faster pace. I left their lodge for my place despite Janet and Rachael’s plea for me to stay. I got into my room only for the fever to take full control of my body to the extent that I switched on the fan to the maximum because of the heat I was feeling and lie down covering myself with both mine and Temmy’s cover clothes because of the extreme cold I was feeling at the same time. I could hear my tooth hitting each other as my body vibrates under the cover clothes. Some minutes later, I heard a knock on the door and could not even answer, though the door wasn’t locked. I saw Janet and Rachael entering the room with Janet holding a bag which conformed to a cylindrical shape. Janet: Oh my God! What’s wrong with you? Rachael: Is this not the person that was laughing inside our room just now? Janet: (She felt my temperature with her hand) Rachael come and feel his temperature, it seems my hand is deceiving me. Rachael: (She felt it too) Holy God! Will let’s go to the health center right now. Hearing the word “health center” suddenly gave me a rare strength to talk. I hate anything hospital and I’ve never been to one for medical treatment other than compulsory tests since I was young. I struggled to sit up against all odds and immediately felt a sharp sinusoidal headache that made me close my eye in agony. Rachael insisted we should go the health center right away but I refused to go, forcing myself to say “I am fine”. Janet: Indeed you are fine with this your body temperature that can cook beans. Rachael: How I wish Temmy is around, he’s the one with his password. Janet: I think he need to eat first, he has not taken anything today. That’s what they’ll ask first at the health center. Rachael: That might have even contributed to it. Will is too fond of reading extensively without food, and it’s too dangerous. You use up a lot of energy when you read. Janet: I’ve bought the bread and fried some eggs with it, can you take it now? (I shook my head to say No, because I’m sure I’ll vomit it totally) Rachael: You don’t want to go to hospital, you don’t want to eat. Are you planning to commit suicide? Will, you are not a kid o Janet: I think he’ll take pap or custard. Before I could say no, she had already left the room to get the pap, though we have custard in the kitchen. I’m not sure she’ll get the pap though, as it is difficult to get in our area at that time of the day. The truth is I wasn’t feeling like eating anything because I’m so scared whatever I eat I’ll vomit. Janet came back with a raw pap (ogi) coupled with a tin evaporated milk with sugar. Where and how she got it was beyond my knowing. She prepared the pap and I took it alone without the evaporated milk and sugar, because I was scared it might be typhoid. Taking milk with pap would have caused more harm than good as far as I know. I laid myself back after taking the part I could from the pap and slept off. I woke up some hours later and discovered Janet was still there sitting closer to where I laid my head, fanning me with a book because the power has been taken by the power holding people. She was also reading one of my motivational books and it looks so strange to me. This I call the irony of life. Funmi, my heart desire that has been my friend and close companion for the past four months or more, is not here when I needed her the most, but Janet my ex-crush that I’ve been avoiding over the same period of time is the one sitting by my side with care. I really wish it is Funmi doing all these, as this her act of care is bringing back to life the affection I used to have for her. Her engagement is her undoing though. Janet: You are awake. How are you feeling now? Me: Better than before. Janet: I really don’t know which drug to buy as I don’t know the nature of your fever. But I think you should take this paracetamol while we get you a drug. Me: Thanks. I’ll be fine Janet: Temmy called and said they’ll be arriving very late in the evening. I told him your situation and he suggests a drug you normally take. When Rachael comes back, I’ll go for it. Me: Oh! You shouldn’t have told him Janet: He asked how your phone got to my hand, so I don’t have option. Me: Really Janet, thank you a lot. Janet: You know I’ll always be there for you, only if you’ll allow me. Can you eat real food now? Me: I don’t think so; my stomach is yet to settle. I’m not even sure the pap entered the right place. She stayed with me till evening as Rachael brought her notes and they both read right there in my room. I also tried to read but not for long as the sinusoidal headache started again. A call came through to my phone from Aramide and Janet picked up telling her I was down with illness. In less than 30min she got to my room and was so surprised at my state. Aramide: What? We spoke not too long ago and nothing was wrong then. Janet: That’s how we saw it too. He just changed drastically. Aramide: What has he taken now? Rachael: He won’t take anything. He refused drug and food, and won’t go to the health center. Aramide: (Smiles) As expected. Though, if you had gone to the health center, you would have been sent back because the place has been closed due to protest from some students. You guys can leave, I’ll take over from here. I don’t have exams to write yet. Janet: Okay, if you need any help just call through his line. Rachael: Don’t worry Will, your boyfriend will soon come. Aramide: (Laughs) who is his boyfriend? Rachael: Of course it’s Temmy. Those guys can make someone jealous. (They all laughed as they left) Aramide did take over and I was surprised she has already bought the drug I would have taken if I had wanted to take drug. And she forced me to take it. I don’t know how she did it, but I took the drug. She left our room around 9pm when Temmy arrived and she was back as early as 8am the following morning, even though she called many times in between her period of absence to check on me. I must admit, the care I’m getting from Aramide is like that of a blood sister even though I barely know her. She did not bug me with her twin theory for the period of days she catered for me. She was still coming many times with prepared food for Temmy and me during our exam week, even though she stays a little far from school. Janet was always coming to check on me during the time I was ill and she kept calling to know my health state. We’ve gotten a little close back since the time I was ill as I was totally moved by her show of care. She has reduced her disturbances on us dating, I guess because it’s exam period. Rachael later told me she has broken up with her abroad fiancé a day before I got ill and that’s tempting. With this revived affection I’m having, I won’t be surprised to be in confusion between her and Funmi. I still did not hear anything from Funmi and I refused to call her throughout my exam week, even though I seriously miss her and would love to have her around. But I guessed the sisterly care I’m getting from Aramide and the new refurbished attention from Janet has reduced my longing for her. Now, I’m more confused. . . |
Dannykool:That will be a different story entirely but having it's root here. It does not affect this. Good morning Happy New month of August everyone. May this month be a fulfilling one for us. Enjoy your day. |

olanshile2016:My guy nice work here. You can try double spacing (double enter) your paragraphs so your work might be more neat. Single "enter" usually don't work here from my experience. Well done bro. Thumbs up. @Eniqurl I can see you are a great reader, after sighting you on more than 3 story threads. Great one dear. Something tells me you'll be a great writer yourself. I'm really waiting to read your work. When it's ready, tag me along. Or if u have one you've already done, share me the link. I'm waiting |

EPISODE TWENTY-ONE MFYL Let me intimate you with a little of my family background. I grew up believing I am the first child of my parent, only to be told by my mother when my father died that he’s not my biological father. I was twelve years old at that time. She told me my step father whom I’ve always known as my father only took me as his son when he got married to her. The question then was who and where is my father? The answer was another tragic story as my mother told me my father died while she was some months pregnant of me. Since then I decided to recognize my step father as my real father for the rest of my life, after-all I answer his last name and he has never let me feel I wasn’t his biological son while he was alive. This is why I am so sure Aramide is mixing things up as there is no way I can be a twin. Nobody in my family, not even my grandparents ever made the mistake of calling me a twin at any point. Though I’ll love to hear her out as funny things do happen, but I’m never going to ask my mother about this. She has gone through a lot for me and asking her that might hurt her. Aramide and I did meet but not until Thursday as she only came back on Wednesday and I’ve been busy reading towards my last examination as an undergraduate. Aramide: Thank God we are finally able to talk. How are you? Me: I’m fine. How was your journey? Aramide: Successful. I was not able to get the money I was expecting and that’s why I couldn’t make it down on Sunday. Me: No problem. How is Bankole? Aramide: He’s good. He sends his regards. How is your girlfriend? I forgot her name. Me: Are you talking about Funmi? Aramide: Yes, how is she? Me: She’ll be fine I’m sure. She’s not my girlfriend though, not yet. Aramide: What happened? You guys fought? Me: Not really, it’s complicated. I’ve not heard from her since Saturday. Aramide: I think I like her though. Try to settle things with her. Me: That will be after my exams. I really can’t get distracted at this point. It’s my last hurdle. Aramide: You are right. Have you ask your mum if you are a twin? Me: No I did not. There is no point asking her when I know I’m not. Aramide: How can you tell? Me: None of my numerous names is Taiwo or Kehinde, and nobody in my family has ever made the mistake of calling me “Ejire”, not even my grandparents. Aramide: Hmm, where is your dad? Me: He’s long gone; he died while I was 12. Aramide: Are you sure about that? Me: Well, he’s my stepfather. My biological father died before I was given birth to. Aramide: Oh Oh! How did you know that? Me: I was told by the only person that can say the truth about it; my mother. Aramide: You might have to ask her again Me: That will be improper to do and why will I be doubting my own mother? Besides, I don’t think I need a father anymore. My mother is my everything, she has always been. Aramide: I’m not asking you to doubt your mother, I’m only asking you to search and get the truth, and one of such truth is your mother might not be your biological mother. Me: That’s ridiculous. Where are all these coming from? Why will she be lying about conceiving me if she did not? And why do I resemble her that much? Aramide: You resemble your mother? Me: Yes, facially. Let’s even assume she’s not my biological mother, she’s still the only person I’ll ever know as my mother. Aramide: Well, you seem not ready for the truth. Me: Aramide, this is our second conversation since we met. You don’t think I’ll just accept stuffs like that from you that I barely know without overwhelming evidences. What exactly did you see, what’s your point? Aramide: I think it is best we leave the issue till after your exams so you won’t get distracted. Me: All my papers falls to next week, so by upper week I’ll be free. Aramide: Okay, till then. But let me ask you these questions before you leave Me: Alright I’m listening Aramide: Why do you answer Albert? Me: That’s my step fathers’ last name. Aramide: And why not the last name of your own father? Me: Nobody ever mention his name to me Aramide: If you see his picture, I mean your biological father, can you recognize him? Me: I’ve never come across his picture anywhere, so I don’t have it in my memory bank. Even my mother doesn’t have any of his pictures. Aramide: And you did not know any of his family members that can show you? Like his brother or sister? Me: Maybe they rejected my mother and I after my father passed away because I don’t know a single soul from that family. I can’t even say if they still exist. Aramide: Hmmm. Answer this last but funny question, not too necessary though. How much of porridge do you love? Me: It’s indeed funny because I don’t take porridge. Whether yam or not, it makes me feel like vomiting every time I tried it. Aramide: Really, do you know why? Me: I’m not sure. But I think it’s because I don’t like it personally. I don’t believe allergy to food exist in this part of the world. We eat anything. Aramide: Alright. I’ll like you to ponder on these questions till we meet after your papers. You can still ask your mother you know. I think she have answers to these questions. Me: Okay. Though I’ve never thought about most of the questions before, I’ll reason it, thank you Aramide. Aramide: It is my pleasure and sorry for disturbing your reading. Me: No problem, by the way where is the other twin you said is alive? Aramide: You’ll meet each other when we confirm and you are convinced you are the other twin. Me: Okay till then Aramide: I’ll call you okay. Do well in your papers and I wish you the best. Me: Thank you. Are you guys not writing exams? Aramide: Our calendar is a little different from the whole school. Me: I’ve heard that before. Send my regards to your fiancé Aramide: I will. Hope there was no complication from that place you got hit? Me: No, not at all. I’m perfectly fine. Thank you so much. Aramide: You are welcome. I left our meeting place and headed back to convocation ground where I was reading under a tree before Aramide called me out to meet her. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to concentrate again as question upon questions keep coming up on my mind. “Is my mother really not my mother?”, “Is my biological father still alive?”, “If all these were lies, why did Aramide chose me and not somebody else?”. I remember that guy telling me in my dream my mortal father is still alive. “Even if he’s alive do I need him? Would it be a bad thing to know my father at least, even though I don’t need him?”. The more I think about these questions the more I feel dejected, desperate and angry. I decided to think about another thing so I’ll be able to concentrate on my reading but the questions kept coming up. I felt strangely cold in a moment, though the weather isn’t that bright but it wasn’t breezing cold. I wonder where this cold is coming from and to make it worse, I started feeling like using the toilet as my stomach start developing strange reactions. I’m not supposed to feel that way as I’ve not taken anything as food that morning. What could be the cause of all this? I seriously hope it’s not coming from my discussion with Aramide. I put on a strong face and forced everything back to normal, but the questions were still coming up. I put on the music on my phone, listening through the headset with the aim of diverting my attention to the melody of the music but it instead replace the questions temporarily with Funmi’s thought. I have not heard anything from her since the time I made that foolish call to her. I can’t even say if she’s fine or not. I guess I was a little angry about the way she responded that time, but not calling her at all is a bad step in its self. What if I’m really going to lose her to that new guy she’s flooding her DP with his pictures? I think I’ll have to start preparing myself for the worst. On the other hand it is unusual of her to be using a guy’s picture as DP; I’ve not seen many like that since I knew her. It is also unusual of her not to have called me or try looking for me for over five days now. I hope she’s fine and nothing is wrong. By the way, I could use her words right now as I’m really getting disturbed with all these new funny questions about my origin. I decided to put a call through to her to at least know how she’s faring. Me: Hello Funmi Funmi: Hello, I thought you’ll never call me again Me: Why would I do that? Funmi: I don’t know Me: Why didn’t you call me? Funmi: I don’t know, I guess I’m busy. Me: Too busy to put a call through? Funmi: In fact, I am busy right now, so we’ll have to talk later if you want to talk Me: Okay, I just want to know if you are doing fine. Funmi: Oh! Thanks. Good to know, Bye. That call ended in less than 30secs and I blamed myself for making the call. Why is she getting bitter on me? Even if we aren’t dating, I thought we are still friends. Well, this attitude might be putting me off gradually and maybe Temmy was right after-all; this dating of a thing is a wrong thing at a wrong time. That does not change the fact I’ll still love her to be by my side forever. The bitter truth was I called her because I needed somebody very dear to me to talk to, because my mood is gradually turning sour. I used to have mood swing which I thought I’ve overcame but it’s like this matter of my origin is reviving it in me. I couldn’t do anything again and my countenance has obviously changed. Temmy is the best person to talk to at moment like this but he’s out of coverage as he is currently in a no network area with his supervisor, gathering the last sets of results for his project. Oliver Wendell Holmes said and I quote “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us” and this made me try to source for inner strength since it’s obvious I’m not going to get my desire comfort from people I cherished, at least not now. I decided to go back to the hostel to take a nap, hoping that my brain will be somehow fresh and free of worries by the time I wake up, because I really need to study as there is a lot to cover. As I was on my way home, my phone rang and it was Janet. I really don’t think I can add her disturbance to my current predicament; therefore I ignore the call only for me to hear a voice over my shoulder Janet: So this is how you do reject my calls Will |
Hello my people, how was your day? I think it's better for us to be expecting the next episodes between 7 and 9pm everyday. Thanks for the words it means a lot. Cc: ChemicalReaction |
EPISODE TWENTY MFYL Me: Temmy I think I’ve put myself in trouble Temmy: What’s wrong? Me: (I showed him the text message) I think I pushed it too far Temmy: No you didn’t. It would have been worse if you guys are already dating Me: Of course that’s surely a time out or I should just call it by its name, breakup. What she hated the most Temmy: She was really hurt by the message but she’ll get over it Me: I pray o. Because her message sound so serious Temmy: You don’t know how much that girl loves you. She neglect almost everything because of you. Me: I kmow and that’s why I’m feeling guilty right now. Maybe I should go to her, beg her and let it out tomorrow. Temmy: No, the timing is very wrong Me: Wrong timing how? Temmy: It will look like she pushed it and she’s likely going to be defensive because of that. She’s a lady you know, she wouldn’t want to look cheap. Me: And I have one Janet on my neck live forever Temmy: you don’t want to marry a lady like that. That’s obsession. Me: (Sighs) What should I o now? I really can’t afford to lose her Temmy. Temmy: Don’t allow her to create space. If she’s trying to go one stem out, you move two steps closer. Let things calm own naturally and at your own convenience you’ll let it out. Me: You really think I can afford to do that now. Won’t it be too late for me? Temmy: No it won’t be Me: And you think it will work? Temmy: You are getting desperate bro, and that’s bad for a good relationship. You are likely going to act in error nine out of ten times when you act in desperation. Cool down and allow things to heal naturally. If it doesn’t heal then I think it was never meant to be in the first place. Don’t forget que cera cera Me: I know but one can stop it from coming to pass through action, inaction, negligence or being naive which I think it’s my case. Temmy: Not in this case. Believe me, she can’t live without you. Me: Okay, I’ll allow it to heal. What do you think I should do about Janet? Her desperation wil sure be putting me in trouble if it won’t stop. Temmy: Don’t let her bother you. The last time I checked she’s still engaged. Me: And that’s the problem. I really pity the said guy. Temmy: I don’t. It was the guy that is giving her cause to doubt their relationship. Me: So she’s trying to turn me into refugee camp Temmy: Spare tyre sound better (We both laughed) Me: Imagine that. Spare tyre is always smaller than real tires and it’s for a while. The moment the real tire got fixed, spare tyre find it’s route back to the boot till another tire get deflated. Temmy: The problem she’s causing you is even more than you know. Me: How do you mean? Temmy: Do you know the major reason Uche was always on your neck all these time? Me: It was project that made her start talking to me o. I don’t know where the sudden twist of events came from. The first time she was here was because of her project. Though I’ve escaped her now, at least i can rest on that. Temmy: You wish. It’s far from over. So far her reason is still there, she’ll still come for you. Just be expecting her soonest. Me: Wait are you Uche’s agent? Which reason other than project and thank God the project is done and dusted. I don’t even need her for the defense neither does she needs me, case settled. Temmy: Project only give her a very good opportunity. She was only hiding under project. The major reason she was on your neck was because of Janet. Me: How do we make sense out of that. Uche disturbing my life because of Janet, to help Janet or to punish her? Temmy: You kmow they were roommates with Rachael in 100 level Me: She they all told me that Temmy: Uche has always love anything Janet loves. Me: Okay, I used to hear there is no new thing under the heaven, but this is new tome. So she love everything Janet love including man? What do I call that, obsession? Temmy: No, jealousy I think. Me: That will be a grade-A jealousy. She should be awarded at the next national awards (We both laughed) Temmy: Or she can represent Nigeria at Olympics Me: Exactly, she’s an award winning person in jealousy. Temmy: Both of them are from the same place and it’s like Janet’s abroad guy went for Uche’s first before dumping her for Janet Me: Mehn dude is a bad guy. Dump his babe for friend, and that’s first class break up. The guy too deserve an award for that. Legendry! Temmy: Uche never consent to the guy’s proposal even though Janet advice her to. I heard the guy was below average financially then. Me: Hmm. Poor dude. Broke guys problem Temmy: Uche then asked Janet to go for the guy if she like him that much and Janet did exactly that only for things to turn around for the guy’s family a year later. Me: Wao! Rachael told you this? Temmy: They both did, both Rachael and Janet. And since then, Uche believes anything Janet like is surely good, even if it doesn’t look good now. Me: (Laughed) Personally created superstition. Well that’s their problem not mine. Uche is out of the picture for good. Temmy: Time will tell I decided to follow Temmy’s advice and allow things to heal naturally with Funmi. The plan was working successfully as we went back to being close the way we used to be before she flared up, until she started following a new guy around. This guy is huge, muscular and sincerely handsome. I felt so threatened with this new alliance and i tried as much as I could to chase the guy off her but they seem to be getting closer by day. I almost ran mad from anger and jealousy the week Funmi used the guy’s pictures as her DP on both whatsapp and BBM. She kept using his different picture everyday, coupled with heartbreaking PMs like “Love is a beautiful thing”, “the heart knows where it belongs”. I couldn’t hold it anymore, so I call her to ask about the guy Me: Hello Funmi Funmi: What’s wrong, you sound angry Me: I’m not angry. Who is that guy on your DP Funmi: Which DP? Me: Both whatsapp and BBM Funmi: What do you think? Me: Are you trying to drive me nuts? Funmi: What’s your business with my DP? Me: Is that what you’ll say? Funmi: What do you want me to say? Stop stalking me around. My DP, my PM, my business, not yours. I dropped the call in shame as she was very right. I indeed don’t have business with her DP. To rub salt on my emotional wound, she immediately after the call, uploaded a picture where she was leaning on the guy’s chest and my heart literally got burst. I must take action now before I run completely mad. I was still in this shock when I receive a call from Aramide giving me another shock. Aramide: Hi William, long time Me: Yeah, I tried contacting you but you are always busy Aramide: I’m sorry about that, you know my department now. I’m free now Me: That’s good. So what’s up? Aramide: I’m good. Remember I told you I have something to discuss with you? Me: Yeah, we never get chance to meet afterwards Aramide:I’ve done more research and my curiosity has been confirmed to be true. Me: And what’s that? Aramide: It’s not what we can discuss on phone. Let’s meet by next week. I’m currently out of school but will be back on Sunday. Thank God next week is the lecture free week. Me: Alright, no problem Aramide: Before then, try asking your mum if you have a twin, because I can tell tell you your twin is still alive Me: Twin ke! Aramide: We’ll talk on Monday. |

ahamdaman:Thanks bro. I was able to proof read like 4 consecutive episodes but I've been busy since after then. On tenses, the conflict is between when to use past or present (agony of English language) . My style of writing make it difficult to chose sometimes as it's either I'm reporting or trying to present event even though they happened in the past. that's why I love our language lol. Notwithstanding I must improve and be better. Thanks so much bro. Cc: Dannykool ChemicalReaction Harkinyemi ernesterioo Danemmy Markee missingrib |
EPISODE NINETEEN MFYL I started avoiding Janet like plague but won’t stop sending messages that she’s sorry. I don’t know what she’s sorry for. I was not able to meet Aramide also, though we spoke on phone several times but she was too busy to meet me which means we were not able to discuss whatever she wanted to discuss before. The school management announce the exam dates and time table which will holding a month earlier than the normal time. They were trying to prevent students from being victim of molestation from masquerades and their followers during the coming “Oro festival” as it has always been the case in the past coupled with the fact it clashes with our supposed exam period. Funmi and I got extremely close as the four of us (plus Temmy and Rachael) attend night class, library and even church together. We were so close it was obvious to everybody including Janet who would still not relent in her messages and calls. Her case is turning to obsession as far as I’m concern. Funmi later became a Church addict as she attend every program, night and day and this made me attend all programmes too as she will always force me to go with her even when I don’t feel like going to some events especially night vigil. Though she did not join any unit in the fellowship, she’s actually getting more religious than I am and I pray that won’t be a problem for me later when I proposed to her because I prefer someone to be rather Spiritual than religious. Religious people tends to believe everything especially if it’s coming from anybody that call him or her self a prophet and that can ruin ones life if care is not taken. Spiritual people on the other hand will confirm whatever they heard with the word of God before accepting it as truth. They don’t pray every prayer points as some prayer points are not Biblical at all. They’ll rather pray with the word. I want a Spiritual wife who can pray and commune with God not a religious wife that will keep taking us from prophet to another mountain. Our supervisor indeed indeed merge our project together saying he doesn’t want Uche to spoil his reputation. Though I sensed foul play as I don’t think Uche cannot handle the project properly, I think something is going on between them but that’s none of my business.I accepted the merge because I’ve got no option and I was able to do most of the work without Uche, because I know the more we work together, the more she’ll frustrate my life. My supervisor surprisingly took up the matter of the guys that hit me at the party, insisting they must be rusticated or locked up in the police cell. These guys are also in the final year and I wouldn’t want to see somebody’s life got scattered because of me, even though they might deserve whatever they get, but my conscience wouldn’t allow such thing to happen. I had to seriously beg my supervisor on their behalf before he let them be, before he reported them to his friend who is the dean of student affairs, and that might cause trouble for them during clearance if care is not taken. I became “friends” with these guys because of this act and I wish they’ll change for good. Exam came and gone but I stayed back in school to oversee the practical part of our project but Funmi traveled down home just like every other female students to avoid the “Oro” festival palava. She came back to school the moment the festival was confirmed over saying she was missing me too much. I do not allow that to get on me as I still decided to stay in my friend zone until I see a visible green light before I made my intention known to her officially. Two months gone in the second semester and I already have my project ready, giving me full escape route from the not dying Uche’s menace I thought. Janet on the other hand will not relent in her project of making me a standby boyfriend or spare tyre as she kept sending me messages that will naturally make me fall for her if my heart wasn’t fixed. I must admit, sometimes I do get carried away by her highly romantic messages but was always brought back because Funmi is nearly always by my side. One of her messages got Funmi so angry she won’t talk to me Funmi: William! Who is this? Me: What’s that? (She showed me the text message that pop up while she was surfing the net on the phone. The message read “William my heart. Amy love for you is undying and I am missing your touch and kiss) Funmi: Who has the number? Me: I honestly don’t know, I don;t have the number on my phone book. Funmi: Whatever (She dropped the phone angrily and entered the kitchen.) She refused to talk to me throughout that evening, though she was talking to Temmy. She also disallowed me from seeing her off while she was leaving. I dialed the number that sent the text and a lady picked up. Me: Hello, please who is this? Number: William my heart, how long do you want me to wait? Me: Please who is this? (though her voice sounds like that of Janet, I didn’t want to conclude just like that) Number: I am the one who love you and will always love you. Our future belongs together you know. Me: Alright, I have to go now Number: Wait now, I’m happy hearing your voice and will be extremely happy to feel your touch again. Me: Janet why are you doing this? Janet: Because I love you and you wouldn’t pick my calls nor return my texts. I had to use another number. I know you love me but you are being distracted by your new fling. Cant we just go back to that time when you’ll come to my house and have your dinner and we’ll have fun? Me: Things changed the moment you rejected me Janet. Janet: I did not reject you, I said you should wait. Me: No Janet, you said anything can happen in the future and I’m not ready to commit my life to pure uncertainty. You also said you don’t want us to complicate things and you never told me why our relationship then would have been a complicated one. Will you tell me now? Janet: I was wrong to use that term then, I never knew what I was saying. Nothing is complicated dear. I am ready now. It will be unfair for you to set me into motion and let me off like that. I’m finding it difficult to let you go. You didn’t even fight for my love for long. It’s unfair you know. Me: You still have not tell me what I needed to know, Why was it complicated then and what has changed now? Janet: I was confused and naive then but I’m sure of my love for you now Me: What about your fiance? Janet: (She paused for a moment) I never told you I have anybody Me: Really Janet, do you think I’m that dumb after all these month I’ve known you? Janet: I don’t know what you heard but I can explain myself better when we see. Me: Alright then till then Janet: So when are you coming over, or should I come to your place? Me: Don’t bother, I’ll come when I’m chanced. Janet: That’s what you always say and you seem never to be chanced Me: When you are ready to tell me the truth let me know Janet: I know it’s Uche feeding you with those lies Me: Really, why will Uche do that? Maybe you should tell me Janet: I already told you to be careful with her, I told you what she’s capable of doing Me: Well I have tell you that the line is capable of going off anytime soon, because I’ve almost exhaust the airtime. Take care I terminate the call as I really don’t understand why she’s so unrelenting even though she’s engaged. Maybe she did not know that lying is also a turn off for me. Why lying and not just come clean in stead of trying to dribble me. I put a call through to Funmi that evening but she refused to pick it up. I honestly did not know how to handle the situation because I did not think I did anything wrong. At the same time we are not dating, not yet though and I really do not expect her to be this Jealous. I was determined to wait a little more before officially asking her out as I am currently enjoying my friend zone state. Later in the evening she sent me a text message that reads “I am sorry for the way I acted earlier, I know I don’t have right and not in position to do so, but I couldn’t help it. Because of this I have decided to stay away from you till I get my sanity back. I’m going to cut all contacts to you, so please don’t call me again nor look for me. We are not into fight and I’m still your friend, but I have to clear my head. Take care of yourself, good night”. Reading this message increase my whole body temperature to an imaginary degree celcius which was enough to make my heart to start beating faster I could heard it audibly. I think my game has backfired because I felt I’ve pushed her for too long. Honestly she has tried, after all the green lights she has shown me. I think I’m now seeing the red. I tried calling her after reading the message but she would not pick and I couldn’t bear my hurt again. |
Afternoon my people kulu kulu down a bit. I'll drop another episode before evening, I've been busy and had to type it. Thanks for staying tuned. Promise to tag you along. |
EPISODE EIGHTEEN MYFL I am still searching for the word to use in describing the situation I just found myself. Janet is surely going to give me a lot of headache with this her new decision to reconsider me. She said no earlier and I’ve moved on, I don’t know why she’s changing her mind now. Besides, all the rumours I’ve heard and revelations I’ve seen about her has drained almost all the feeling I have for her. I naturally hate seeing somebody, especially a lady getting hurt because of my action or inaction, but I might have to start with her if I’m ever going to have peace on the long run. I showed Temmy the text message I received from her and he advised me not to meet her anytime soon, though I had promised her. I waved off Janet’s issue from my head and narrated all I could remember from my dream expedition to Temmy and Funmi. We all laughed about it and eventually conclude it’s time to start taking risk fear. Courage is acting with fear not without fear. We all went to church on Sunday in Funmi’s car, and after church service, we headed straight to Funmi’s to her hostel. It was a girls’ only hostel made of two separate story buildings in the same compound with all rooms constructed as self-contained. We met some ladies in the compound, most on shorts. Some were sitting on an abandoned old wooden table while others were sitting on different plastic chairs, drinking and chatting. Though, they weren’t drinking alcohol at that moment, many bottles of alcoholic drinks scattered all over the compound that look so unkempt, embarrassing the obvious beauty of the buildings. Some of them stood up and to embrace Funmi while others continue their discussions. We entered her room and I was surprised to see a simple decorated room contrary to my expectation of something big owing to her obvious financial status. The only thing in the room that is not in our room is the refrigerator and that was where I headed first. I opened the refrigerator and could not find beer or other alcoholic drinks except for numerous types of juice, water and one red wine. Me: I was expecting to find alcohol in here Funmi: I don’t buy them any more, I’ve long been trying to stop taking it. Temmy: Meaning you only drink when you go to party or when it’s bought for you? Funmi: Yes, including cigarette. The red wine is a gift from my young cousin on my last birthday. Me: Which means if you can do away with people that might buy it for you or invite you to a party of such, you are good Funmi: Yes, but that’s practically not easy. I am a kind of person that love to see people around me most time, which is why I said I need your help. I can’t leave my friends without having friends to relate to. Me: I understand, but what about your boyfriend or is it fiance? Funmi: I’m not in a relationship. Me: Oh! Why did you break up and since when? Funmi: I never had a boyfriend in my life. Me: Are you kidding me? From secondary school up to this stage, you are rich, beautiful and you attend party a lot coupled with the fact you have numerous wild friends and I’m sure many of them if not all have more than one boyfriend and yet you never had a man? Funmi: (Smiles) My father is the type that will never allow me out when I was younger. He sent to a girls only school and never give breathing space to the extent barely have friend in secondary school. It was when I gained admission and he had to head his office in another state that I got this freedom I’m enjoying. Besides I hate breakups and it happens a lot around me, that discourages me. My cousin nearly commit suicide because her ex broke up with her. Me: Hmm, you are not discouraged, you are rather scared. So how do you manage unrelenting suitors? I’m sure you’ll have them in bulk Funmi: I don’t usually give them time or space to say anything except if I happen to like the fellow. Those are the one I made my friends rather dating them. Temmy: Master friend-zoning, you highness ma (We all laughed) Even though I am obviously growing in love and affection for her, hearing this made me think maybe I should just zone myself before she officially zone me like others. We stayed a while in her room while prepared noddles for us. We were all playing ludo game after the meal when one of her hostel friends burst into the room without knocking, telling her she has a visitor outside. Funmi asked for the identity of the visitor and why the person isn’t coming into her room instead of staying outside and calling out, but her friend refuse to give any reasonable information about who the person might be. We sensed maybe the visitor is a guy or the visitor is intimidated by our presence, so we decided to leave at that point for her to accommodate her visitor. We all headed outside only to find Uche laughing with the ladies outside. She was the said visitor who has come to say thank you to all of them concerning her birthday party. Plus Uche were other five guys sited with the ladies. As we were moving towards gate Uche sighted me and rush down to me in her usual disturbing manner. Uche: Will wait! Me: What’s the problem? Uche: you refused to pick my calls yesterday, why? Me: Because I died before I resurrected. Uche: I wanted to ask how you were feeling? How are you now? Me: Really? You wanted to know how I was feeling after you neglected me at your party as if I’m nothing. Well you’ve your answer, I died. Uche: Stop saying that now. I wanted to cater for you but your friend won’t allow me (pointing to Temmy). Me: Of course he won’t, how will he know if you were only coming to confirm if I’m dead or not, so you can finish your work if I wasn’t. Uche: Will stop saying rubbish in your mouth, how can I want you dead? I like you more than you think. I was the one that pour the water that brought you back Me: Wao! Thank you pastor or is it prophet Uche for bringing me back. I’m sure you are happy and satisfied. Just do me a favour, don’t come near me again. Uche: Why now? I’m not the one that hit you now? Me: Yeah, but you were the one that forced me to the party playing supervisor card. If I wasn’t at the party, of course my head will be free of plank. By the way, tell your friends that hit me I said my head is not a cricket ball. No thanks to them, I see stars in different colours now. Uche: Why didn’t you want to come in the first place. I was expecting you to cut my cake with me Me: Cut cake with you as your what? Uche: As my person now you know. I don’t know how you can like Janet and not me. What do you see in her self. Me: Uche you are hungry again. Just remember, don’t come near me again Uche: That won’t be possible. For your information, our supervisor is going to merge our project together after first semester defense. We are now project partners. Me: Is that your new trick? Well I will have to do what I initially don’t want to. Uche: And what’s that? Me: Don’t worry, the police will brief you soonest. You are most likely going to put our supervisor in soup also. Uche: Police for what? What did I do? I’m not the one that hit you now. Will you are nice guy o, don’t let anybody advice you badly. Me: Yeah, a nice guy you wanted to send into a nice grave right? Uche: Will please I did not know anything about it o Temmy: (He came to us where we were talking) Will, we have to leave here now, those guys are here. Temmy was able to recognize the two guys that confronted me at the party among the five guys that were sited with the ladies. We left the place and Funmi did follow us down to our hostel without her car, saying she did not want to join in whatever conversation they were having. I’m sure Uche would be wondering what I meant by police, little did she know I only use that to scare her a little. I really can’t imagine having Uche as my project partner, that’s tantamount to me doing the project all alone as she will not touch anything coupled with the fact she won’t let me rest with her fantasy intimation. I was able to meet Rachael at her request that evening at a place close to their hostel I wasn’t going to enter their room to avoid Janet. Me: Temmy did call you after our discussion right? Rachael: Yeah, he did but was not speaking the way he used to. He told me he needed a break before then. Me: Don’t mind him. His head will soon come down Rachael: I really pray so because I love him so much and I don’t blame him at all. Me: Don’t blame yourself either, the did is done, solution is the main thing now. Rachael: I owe you an apology too. I’m sorry you got caught in the matter. Though I was dating the guy before, but we were never really dating. He’s abusive and all he want is sex and nothing more. We’ve stop talking since went for IT, I don’t know how he can just come from the blue trying to act like my boyfriend. Which is why I told him on Friday it’s over between us. Me: Don’t worry Rachael, Temmy told me everything. I know that’s what’s mostly going to be the case. The most important thing is I survived it. Don’t beat yourself up okay, Temmy is more than a friend to me, he’s my brother and I can tell you he loves you more than you think. He’ll surely come around. You know he doesn’t get angry like that, so when he does, just be cool with him, he’ll come down. Rachael: Thank you Will. You are really a good person, I wish you are my friends’ boyfriend. Me: Talking of your friend, where is she? Rachael: She went out before I called you. Me: I want to know somethings about her. Do you know Uche? Rachael: Yeah, she was Janet’s friend from home. And we were all roommates in 100 level days. Me: She told me Janet is engaged. Is that true? Rachael: Hmm, you are not the first person Uche will reveal that to. Me: So she’s lying Rachael: No she’s not. Janet is engaged and the guy supposedly went for Uche initially before she rejected him. Me: Oh I see, then why was she that close to me that time and why is she trying to come back to me now? Rachael: My friend really love you. She has been wishing for you since you met. Me: But that’s wrong, what about the guy. That’s cheating now. Rachael: The guy caused it, he’s been cheating too ans Janet is not sure of their relationship anylonger. Me: Then why can’t he leave the guy? Rachael: He love the guy. Me: That’s ridiculous, she did not love me. What she had for me was a pure lust. Though I really had something for her then, but I’ve lost it now. She was the one that said no and I wish she’ll let me be now. Rachael: I’m not sure she will, she kept telling me she love you. Me: I would have asked her to chose but It’s late now. Rachael: You never can tell. What if she leave the guy today? Me: Will the guy leave her? Besides I don’t have anything other than friendship for her again. I’ll start avoiding her now. Though I told her I’ll talk to her but I don’t think it’s necessary again. Rachael: Don’t neglect my friend o. She’s not a bad girl, she’s just confused. I sighted someone from afar off that looks like Janet and I immediately left Rachael, telling her we’ll talk later. Cc: youngcity ChemicalReaction KvngBlaze jojothaiv blexxyn1 KomonSense mubarak001 swankmee Mayorkay1 jidxin Mediarush 4kizo Jibwillz Temmiesexie Omoalaja Missingrib amijid2012 Hiddy88 Homestic01 biejibbs93 Yungest Olabantu olatex25 Temmyjoe Occurstaem Aadetola1 Dat9jakid jojothaiv Sugarsoul Ernesterioo Thriveplus Ucheclub Shabib66 Missmossy Bless2tom Teewai3 Horladapo jojothaiv Aadetola1 Dat9jakid Jojothaiv Blexxyn1 KomonSense Mubarak001 Swankmee Mayorkay1 Jidxin Mediarush 4kizo Jibwillz Temmiesexie Omoalaja Missingrib Amijid2012 Hiddy88 Homestic01 Biejibbs93 Yungest Olabantu Olatex25 Temmyjoe Occurstaem Hayurmidey Please let's try not to qoute a whole episode while commenting. EPISODE SEVENTEEN MFYL “What has Temmy done to this girl that is making her cry like that, and that will be the second lady around me crying today. I hope Temmy did not do anything too harsh or hurtful”. I was still in thought when my phone rang again and this time it’s Janet. I wanted to ignore her call but felt she was just calling to know my well being. Me: Hello Jane Janet: Hello Will, Please I need to see you (her voice cracking) Me: Hope there is no problem Jane? Are you crying? Janet: Please I have to see you. Can I come to your place? Me: (Why is all of them crying now? Is today worlds’ crying day?) Janet calm down. I took a drug and needed to rest. Why are you crying? Did somebody hurt you? Janet: No, I really need to see you this evening. Me: (Well I can’t leave Funmi here for you and I’m not too strong) Is it something we can discussed online? Janet: No, it can’t be discussed online, it’s when I see you. Me: Well you have to cool down first, maybe I should call you back because I can’t leave this place now and I need to rest, and I hope you understand that. Janet: Alright no problem. When are we going to see? Me: tomorrow or probably on Monday Janet: Promise? Me: Yes I promise Janet: Thank you. I love you Oh! How I wish I can reply “I love you too” but that was some weeks ago. My affection for her has evaporated, faster than alcohol. I initially thought she was crying because Temmy did something at their side. Though, I trust Temmy not to go that far. Come to think of it, what’s making her to change her mind of a sudden, and what about her fiancé in abroad. Well I refuse to be anybody’s extra tyre. Some minutes later, Temmy burst into the room, obviously angry Me: Temmy what’s wrong? Temmy: Sincerely what’s wrong with us? Sensing what he is likely going to say next, I covered his mouth giving him sign that Funmi is still around. He did calm down after hearing that Me: So what’s the problem? I received both Rachael and Janet’s call and they were both crying with Janet showing a funny expression of love towards me. I wonder how their room will look like this evening. Temmy: I don’t care how it looks like but you offended me bro. Me: What did I do? Temmy: Really when did we stop talking sense into each other’s brain Me: We are growing up I guess Temmy: Damn that! I was going extremely astray and you let me. I got deluded with love and neglect my priorities yet you were just looking at me. From 100 level to 400 level, we read and go to night classes together but you’ve started going all alone while I wasted my life away at her side. Me: Keep your voice down bro, we can’t make sense with anger. Temmy: I am sincerely angry Me: Just calm down okay. You did not waste your life away at her side, you spent your with the one you love. Besides we are grown up bro, we can’t always be on each others neck Temmy: Why not? It make us behave well, put us in check and makes our academics to flow in a rivers of abundance. Me: Yeah, you are right, but the moment we start having relationship, we have to put the ladies into consideration. It can’t be business as usual. I’m sure you wouldn’t want your fiancé to hate your best friend because he’s sharing her time. Temmy: Seem this issue of dating is a wrong step at a very wrong time. Me: No bro, we are the one that handled it wrongly. We are supposed to balance it up so that we don’t use present to affect the future and neither do we neglect our present for the unseen future. Balance is the key. Temmy: You are right with that Me: That’s why I told you not to take any harsh decision Temmy: You don’t understand. I almost got you killed today and that makes fell very bad. Me: You are not my supervisor that coerced me to go there, neither were you the one that reset my brain into factory default setting with plank. It wasn’t your fault. For how long was I off? Temmy: Up to 3 minutes bro Me: 3 minutes? And I had that long weird dream that looks like I was there since forever? Anyway, next time I’ll watch my mouth. Temmy: You weren’t hit because of what you said. They only use that as an excuse. They hit you thinking you are me. Me: How do you mean? Temmy: The guy that hit you is Rachael’s boyfriend or ex-boyfriend according to what she told me this evening. Me: Really? That’s unpredictable. Why will he want to harm you? Temmy: Because Rachael just broke up with him yesterday Me: What? Yesterday like real yesterday? Temmy: All these while I was the side guy, she was cheating on him with me Me: I disagree with that bro. I have a feeling they’ve broken up a long time ago, maybe she just made it official yesterday. Temmy: Official or not, they were dating and that does not justify why she never mention it to me. Me: I don’t support lies, transparency is the key. But come to think of it, if she had told you, would you still go for her? Would your feelings remain the same? She was only trying not to hurt your feelings bro. Temmy: And she’s not hurting my feeling now? Me: Yeah, shit happens bro. I even thought the issue was about beer. Funmi entered the room from the kitchen, she was obviously listening to our conversation. Funmi: Sorry to interrupt but will you guys like to eat now? Me: Wao! That’s fast. I’m not ready to eat though Temmy: Funmi leave food for now and let’s talk Funmi: I hope it won’t get too cold to eat. I’m all hears Temmy: I don’t know if William has told you this, I don’t like what I saw today Funmi: (sighs) I know and I’m so sorry. Temmy: I know you are sincerely sorry, which is why I’m telling you this. You need to change Funmi. Funmi: I know, I’ve tried to change several times but it never work. I’ve been drinking for a long time and do smoke sometimes too. Temmy: You smoke too? You really need to stop girl, you are killing yourself you know that. You are a lady and you are going to be a mother. Her eye has started getting filled with tears again with her head going down gradually. Me: Funmilola remember your promise to me. No crying remember? Funmi: (Used her hand to wipe the tears) I’m sorry. Me: Listen, the way out of this is very simple. You have to do away with your friends that are encouraging this. Funmi: You told me that before. But I’m going to need your help to do that. Will you help me? Me: Yes I will help. Continue with them and you’ll become worse. Temmy: Also no going to party of any such again. Look for another hobby to replace partying with or you can be having cigarette and alcohol free party. Do away with any alcohol or cigarette in your possession. You want to be away from them as much as possible. Funmi: Thank you Temmy. I’ll try my best. You guys will have to help me through it, especially Will. Temmy: He will. Funmi: Thank you guys. I’m sorry for what I said to you at the party Me: No problem, you were on another level that time. Funmi: I wasn’t really drunk. I knew what I was talking about then and I’m really sorry. Me: Apology accepted. Temmy: Guess we can eat now. Me: You guys should go on. I want to recollect my mysterious dream during the time I passed out. Funmi: I’ll love to hear about it. Me: Believe me it is funny and mind blowing at the same time. Less I forget, Temmy you need to settle things with Rachael. She’s a good personality and she’s sorry. Temmy: How can you tell? Me: I told you she called me crying. She sound so sincere and I believe her. Please call her tonight before you sleep. You are the man you know. Try understanding things from her perspective. I’ll also speak with her when I get the chance to. It’s Rachael I wish to see in white when I best you Temmy: Okay I’ve heard you, Rachael’s brother. Are you going to call Janet too? Me: Call her to say what exactly? I’ll see her later Temmy: Just be careful with her. I’ve lost trust in her totally after what I saw and heard about her. She got too many things to hide. Funmi brought the hot amala and they continue on the consuming operation but I wasn’t able to join them as I felt so filled. I instead took some juice while we watch a movie on the system. Aramide did call me before I went to sleep, she asked about my health and said there is something we need to discuss. Uche did call again, but I neglect her call all the same. The funny thing that ended the night was from Janet’s text message. It reads “Baby I’m sorry I rejected you earlier. I’ve realized my mistake and I’m ready now. Please let’s talk tomorrow. Dream of me, I love you”. Well I’m not the one in control of what my night dreams will be, so she’s in OYO. By the way, would you suggest I go back to her, with the possibility of her been engaged? Not so sure. . . |

EPISODE SIXTEEN MFYL Temmy: Can you stand? He held me by my right hand using his other hand to pull my back up. I got up and we left the party hall, followed the exit passage and stayed at the buildings’ security house for me to rest for a while. Surprisingly, the party continued as if nothing had happened, but Rachael and Janet did left the hall with us. My shirt was still very wet with water and because of that, we couldn’t leave the venue on time. Rachael volunteered to rush down to our hostel and get me a new shirt, but as she was about leaving, a lady and a guy coming out from the party hall offered to help us to the hostel as they came with a car. Janet decided to stay as the guys convey us down to the hostel because the vehicle can only carry four passengers and the driver. While in the vehicle, I started feeling sharp pain on my head and almost pass out again. The lady offered to convey me down to the school health center but I declined because I hate hospital environment even though it’s obvious I really need a medical attention. We were dropped at the hostel and I decided to sleep as I am still not feeling good. After like one hour of sleep, I woke up to see the lady and the guy were back in the room and surprisingly Funmi was there too. The guy came with some drugs and provisions. Guy: How are you feeling now? Me: The pain has reduced, I’m just feeling some sinusoidal headache at the right side of my head. It seems to be following my pulse as it come and leave at regular interval. Guy: (He touches my head and felt the temperature) Your temperature looks normal, I think the headache is a result of the shock from the hit. Take these drugs and follow the description. If the headache persist, please come to health center tomorrow, I’m still around till next two weeks. Me: Thanks. Are you a doctor? Lady: yes he is. Guy: (Smiling) I am a doctor in training. By this time next year, you should be able to call me a doctor and nobody will question it. Temmy: The way you speak did show you are a doctor. You are studying in this school? Guy: No, I’m only here to visit my nurse fiancée Lady: Nurse in training (She cuts in) Guy: But the doctor at your health center is a friend of mine, so I’m helping him out there, while I’m around. Lady: Nice excuse to be with your babe, as if we don’t know why you are here. Guy: I’m not going to deny that (We all laughed) Lady: What’s your name? Me: William and he’s Temmy Lady: William sound British. What’s your last name? Me: Albert Lady: Wao! We shared the same surname. Guy: Maybe he’s your lost brother Lady: Time will tell if he is. I am Aramide and He my Fiancé is Bankole. Temmy: So you are the nurse he’s talking about Me: Cool! I like your combination. Hospital is set. Just give birth to a lab scientist and a pharmacist and you are good to go (Everybody laughed) Aramide: Thanks. You can call me Mide. (Facing Funmi) You’ve been silent all these while, hope all is well? Funmi: I am fine, thanks. I just don’t want to interrupt. Bankole: She looks like the shy type. You guys should take care of yourselves. Will, do take the drug and let me know how you feel tomorrow. Me: Thank you man Aramide: Will, I’ll need your number so I can call to know how you are doing. I’ve reported your case to the school security and it seems they’ve been looking for how to nab those guys before now. You might be called to witness. Me: I really don’t want to be involved in any case, I just want to be okay. Funmi: I will testify. I was there and saw everything. I also know the guys. Me: No, I don’t want you involve neither. Though, you and I have a lot to talk about. Bankole: Please be careful with the way you deal with those boys. I think they are cult members. Funmi: They are not into cultism, they are just trying to act like one. Bankole: Still, be careful with them. Except you are sure of what you are doing. Aramide: Do take care. I’ll give you call Will. Temmy and . . . (Pointing to Funmi) Funmi: Funmilola Aramide: Please take care of him and yourselves. They left the room while Temmy see them off to their car. Funmi brought out an orange juice and persuaded me to take the drug at that instant. I took the drug while Temmy excused himself saying he needs to see Rachael. Me: Bro don’t do anything stupid okay? In fact, don’t do anything, stupid or not. Temmy: I’ll try bro. I’m even angry at you. Me: We’ll have our own discussion later. Just don’t do anything please. Temmy: Alright. I’ll be back soon. Will I still meet you Funmi? Funmi: Definitely. Except Will said otherwise. Temmy: Good, I have things to say to you too. He left the room to meet Rachael leaving only Funmi and I in the room. I’m really not at ease with Temmy going to Rachael at this time, I have a feeling he’s going to take a rash decision. He’s always like that whenever he’s angry. Funmi, sitting at the edge of the mattress, looking so dejected, bowed her head and was not raising it. My mind was to talk sense into her head but on another note, she’s an adult and I’m not in any position to question her behavior, so why will she answer any query from me. I decided to lie down and was thinking of something else to say when she broke the silence. Funmi: Will (her voice shaky) Me: cool down Funmi. We can talk about whatever it is later. Funmi: No (crying now) "Okay I don't like crying game and according to a Yoruba proverb, a woman that cry while explaining will eventually destroy the home." Although her own seem sincere because she has no reason to cry before she'll say anything to me. One thing her tear is surely causing that I don't want is bringing out the emotions in me. Seeing her cry is making me feel somehow and I really don't wanna see it. "OH my God, I'm I in love?". I prefer to be friend with a lady for a period of time and allow it to grow into love but I'm already in love with Funmi despite her obvious shortcomings. I move closer to her, hug her and pressed her head on my chest while she sobs. She wanted to start talking but I asked her not to. She remain like that for around 10min even after she had stop crying. She pulled back, look me in the eye and then touch my shirt Funmi: I've soaked your shirt again Me: only this time with tears and not water Funmi: I'm sorry. You need to change the shirt. Me: I will but you have to promise me one thing Funmi: (Forced a smile) What's that? Me: No matter what happen, you'll never cry like this again Funmi: I couldn't stop it. Me: You'll have to try. I must admit, it breaks my heart seeing you cry Funmi: I'm sorry Me: Don't be sorry, just don't cry Funmi: I should be taking care of you, but here you are taking care of me. Me: I'm okay now. I just have to rest. Funmi: What will you eat? Me; I think the rice I took at the party is still there. I'm okay. Finmi: No you are not. It's my opportunity to cook for you, please don't say no. Me: Alright, but whatever it is I can't take much. You should be quick it's getting late. Funmi: I'm sleeping here tonight, of you guys don't mind Me: The room is big but I'll have to tell Temmy Funmi: He said I should tell you. Me: But why did you want to sleep over? Funmi: My hostel is not safe on a day like this Me: What about your car? Funmi:Already parked in your compound here. Me: You seem prepared. Feel free. She entered the kitchen to make amala. While I was resting my head on the mattress, my phone range and it was Uche. I cut it immediately and ignore every other call she put through after that. I was already dozen off when my phone rang again and it's Rachael. Rachael: Hello (Her voice sounding somehow) Me: Rachael what's the problem? Rachael : (crying now) Please help me talk to Temmy. I'll tell you everything later but please help me beg him. Me: Temmy is not here yet, what did he do? Rachael: Just beg him for me please (sobing till the line went dead) |
I really appreciate your comments and encouragement. Thank you so much. Sorry for the little story bending today's episode portray. I just felt somebody out there needs the encouragement. I wish to post two episodes today but IBDC won't allow me. |
This Episode is dedicated to everybody like my very self who is afraid to take risk. Let it out, you've got beautiful things to deliver. We are waiting for you. EPISODE FIFTEEN MFYL The place was still dark as I tried to lift myself up from a material that looks more like a mattress. I was in absolute darkness and couldn’t take a step forward or backward a the place I’m standing seems to sink down the more I tried to move. I gently stoop low and sit down on the foam-like material before I heard a voice that sound just like mine saying “you have the switch to the light, you’ll need to switch it on to see very well sire” Me: Excuse me, are you talking to me? Person: Yes Sire. You switched off the light by yourself and only you can switch it on. Me: How do I do that? I can’t even see my hands or anything else. Person: You do not desire the light sire. If you do, it will come up. As much as I don’t understand what he’s talking about and who he is, I needed to know where I am and how I got there. I closed my eye and started thinking deep on how light looks normally. I played a scenario of me switching on the light in a dark room. The moment I opened my eye the light came up and was so bright every tiny thing were visible. I tried to look for the source of the light but could not find it in the room. I was indeed on a mattress, a very big one, bigger than I’ve ever seen. The room is so beautiful, painted in my favorite blue and white colour, while most items in the room are in purple colour including the clothes. The ceiling of the room looks like heaven having vases containing flowers hanging in six corners of the room. There was a poster of me wearing a long white robe hung on the wall left to the exit door. I can now vividly see the person speaking to me. He was as if I’m looking into the mirror. He has everything just like I do from facial expression, physique, standing and the way he was speaking. Only that he wasn’t carrying any mark or scar and was wearing a purple robe while I’m still in my gray stripped white shirt on blue-black jeans. I stepped down from the mattress and walk towards the guy who had remain on the same spot he was since I woke up. Me: Where is this and who are you? Person: It is known sire! I’ll like to take you outside, you have things to inspect Me: Inspect? Where is Temmy? Person: Please follow me sir. He lead me on as we followed a very big hallway beautifully designed I’ve never seen such in my life. We started meeting people who all dressed in purple and also look just like me, doing one work or the other. They all keep repeating the same sentence whenever we pass them “Welcome home sire”. Me: Who are these people and why do everybody has my face and everything? Person: It is known sire. Please let me lead you to the garden. We followed a path on the right hand that led into the garden. The garden consists of so many type of trees bearing beautiful fruits. It is so big I can’t quantify it with any known measuring scale. The misery is, whenever I point to see a particular tree or plant, we walk down and get there in a split of seconds, no matter how far the tree or plant was initially. Every tree and plants has a gardener each, tendering them by applying manure and water at their require period. All the thousands and thousands of gardeners I saw there looks just like me facially and in physique, but they were also wearing the purple rob. Me: This is awesome. How can a garden be this big? Person: Only you know the size sire Me: How can I know the size when I’m not the one that built it. Person: It is known sire. Please let me take you to the ongoing project. Me: You are confusing me the more with this your sire of a thing. Which project again, and what’s my business with the project? Person: You requested to see it sire Me: When did I do that? Wait! I’m supposed to be at a party with Temmy, where is this? Person: It is known sire Me: I remembered being hit by a plank. Tell me, I’m I dead? Is this heaven or something? Person: You are not dead. If you are, we won’t be here. Me: Where would we be or would I be if I’m dead? Person: Only your Father can say. It is known that when you die, this place will be totally destroyed and rebuild. Me: Which Father are you talking about? I never grow to know my father. My mother said he passed before I was born. Person: That’s not true sire. Your mortal father is alive, but I’m not talking about him. After the inspection, we’ll pay your Father a visit, He’s been waiting for you. Me: You have to be speaking in a language I understand. I got no father, except you are talking about my step father that I bears his last name and he has long passed on too. Person: It is know sire Me: It is known, It is known, It is known, to who now? By the way, I’m not dead and I’m not in heaven. Obviously I’m not alive either, where is this place for the love of Christ? Person: You are alive sire. It is known, please follow me and I’ll show you the project. He lead me out of the garden and we entered a field where there are many children playing and having fun. The field was so green I felt like rolling on it and the children were so happy. They would momentarily stop and greet us “welcome sire” whenever we pass them. The kids also have my look irrespective of their age. We went through the blue coloured road in the middle of the green field leading to a magnificent building which has builders still working on it even though it looks completed to me. It was built so high one cannot see the topmost part from the ground as it looks to meet the cloud in heaven. Me: Wao! This is extremely great! Person: It is known sire Me: Yeah, I know it is known. How long has this building been in construction? Please don’t tell me it is known! Person: It is known sire. It is as old as you are. Me: It looks completed to me, why are they still working on it? Person: Only your Father can determine if it is completed. He’s waiting by the pool of waterfall, please let’s go to him. He lead me into the building and I discovered the interior part is even more beautiful than what I saw outside. All the doors, rooms and hallways are highly identical and I don’t know how the guy knows where to follow as there were no direction sign whatsoever. We came to a place that looks like the center of the building and there was indeed a massive waterfall filling up a pool but the pool remain at the edge and was never spilling out or reducing. The water was so clean I can see where the bottom of the pool clearly but still could not locate where the water flows out. Sitting at the edge of the pool, on a golden chair, raised a little above the ground level, positioned very close to the waterfall is an elderly man who neither look old nor young. He also has my face. He was surrounded by servants who all wear purple robes and look like me, like I’ve been seeing since my expedition on this unknown planet started. The man was wearing a bright robe I can best describe as white. He kept smiling as we approach Him and eventually stood up and embraced me. Man: Welcome son. I’m really happy with what you’ve done here Me: Sir, I’m not the one that build this. Man: (Smiles) you are son, you built everything you’ve seen since you arrived. Me: I don’t understand sir. Where is this place and why does everybody look exactly like me? Man: This is your mind son. This is the mind you have created for yourself. You have a very beautiful mind son. You constructed and designed it by yourself, and I am so amazed at what you are capable of. But you’ve only be building and building here, you did not complete them. And without completing them you cannot see it manifested in reality. Have you seen that glorious garden? Me: I have sir Man: That’s your minds’ work. You’ve put your mind in so much work but refuse to complete the projects. Come here more often and complete this projects. Men are waiting for its manifestation. You can’t just keep it here, when you die, they will all perish without manifestation. That would be a gross waste of talent and opportunity. Me: How can I be coming here sir? Man: You already know who you are, books to read, message to listen to. To come here you’ll have to be listening to your inner man (pointing to the guy that has been leading me on since). He’s your right hand man. He’s you. Me: He’s me? Then who are others, the gardeners, builders and the children? Man: (Smiles) They are all you. They represent you in all aspects. That is why you could have many talents at the same time. Each person holds a particular talent or gift you have. Others hold your emotions, when you are moody, happy and even when you love. They are all waiting for your command. Always ready and obedient, only if you will use them to their strength. Me: How do I get use to him, I mean my inner man? Man: You’ve already recognize his voice. Always listen to yourself. Meditate on things you’ve read about yourself and try searching him out for discussion on things through your pure meditation and moment of silence. Me: Is this how every mind looks? Man: Yes, but some have left their mind vague and deserted. Therefore they have nothing to draw from it. And some have sold their mind to the evil one, therefore all they can draw is evil, even though their inner man kept saying No, cautioning them. Others are like you, they build their mind and never complete it. Those people you see making difference in the world are those who do complete projects in their mind. And they are never scared of taking risk which is the excuse of people like you. I believe you’ll change son and I’m waiting for your manifestations just like the world is waiting. Me: Thank you sir Man: You have to leave now, your friend is worried. Me: How do I leave this place? Man: Just go through the pool and enter the waterfall. Always remember son, you can always ask me whatever you don’t understand. You know how to reach me and I’m always here. I entered the pool and headed straight to the waterfall as my right hand man keep following. The waterfall bit me so hard I gasp for breath feeling my shirt already soaked with water. Then I woke up to see a bucket of water has just been poured on me Temmy: William can you hear me? Me: (Struggle to talk) Yes (shaking my head) |
jojothaiv:Thanks bro. That means a lot. |
EPISODE FOURTEEN MFYL I was so angry I nearly smashed my phone on the floor. I am not the party type and I really hate attending one but this man is forcing me to attend. I guess that’s what Uche meant by saying “I’ll make sure of it”. How she manage to get our so called disciplinarian supervisor into this is beyond my reasoning. This will only make me detest her the more, and to make the matter worse, I don’t know her hostel or the party venue. Surprisingly I receive Uche’s text some minutes after, describing the party venue. She wasn’t having the party in her hostel as she earlier told me. I left the viewing center to my room and changed to a more presentable attire. I wore my gray stripe white fitted shirt on a blue-black jean trouser completing it with my dark brown sweat shoe and sprayed almost half of the perfume bottle on my body just to smell good. I went along with my John C Maxwell book so I can have something doing if I ever get bored there. Getting to the entrance of the described venue, I started feeling unnecessarily nervous. On a first note, I wasn’t sure if my dressing is okay, and secondly I’ve never being to a party of this type other than the normal common ceremonies like burial, wedding and naming, majority of which I attended by force especially when my mother is involved. I entered the gate and was in the passage through to the hall when I met my supervisor accompanied by Uche and some of my departmental female colleagues coming from the opposite direction. Supervisor: Good to see you eventually come. I thought you don’t want to graduate. Me: Good evening sir Supervisor: (He placed his hand on my shoulder and turned me towards the exit direction he was facing) Sometimes try to enjoy yourself okay, life is not all about book, studying and what have you. Try to have real fun some time okay? Me: Yes sir, thank you sir. Supervisor: I’ll be leaving now, our dean is celebrating his marriage anniversary and the program starts by 5pm. You guys should prepare for your defense, you are likely going to have it this coming week. Uche and the other ladies followed him down to where he parked his car while I headed straight into the party hall. Surprisingly the place is already filled up with almost everybody having fun with their drinks, food and music. I felt my phone vibrating, checked it and discovered it was Temmy calling. I wanted to head back out to pick the call as I’ll not be able to hear anything in the hall due to the very loud music blasting from every corner, but I was held by Janet who took me down to where they were sitting. I was immediately served a plate of fried rice with cold malt courtesy of Janet who made sure I have everything served others before sitting right by my side with Temmy sitting on the other side. Uche also came asking me to come and sit near where she was sitting but I declined before she was dragged off by the MC. The most shocking thing I witnessed there was seeing Funmilola sited with her friends drinking beer directly from it’s bottle. Me: Temmy is that not Funmi? Or am I mistaken? Temmy: It’s definitely Funmi. Wait! She’s drinking beer? Me: I can’t believe what I’m seeing Temmy: She looks too cool for that mehn Janet: What’s wrong with taking beer? Temmy/Me: What? Rachael: You guys are funny. You talk of beer like it’s poison. Me: You drink beer also? Rachael: I used to, but anymore. I can’t buy it with my money though. Janet: You mean you guys don’t take beer at all? Rachael: They prefer wine I guess. Taking only juice every time time is not good for your health. Me: So if they offer you beer here you’ll drink? Janet: You won’t? This is a party guys not fellowship gathering. What do you do in a party if you don’t drink and dance? Me: Janet, are you really saying this or my brain is playing trick with me? Janet: Just watch and see. Funny guy. All this while, Temmy became extremely dumb, totally shocked by the revelations revealing itself. He has always thought he knows Rachael very well and would have argue this if it wasn’t coming from the horses’ mouth. To make the matter worse, Janet indeed got four beers for us and before we know what’s going on, she has already start drinking. Rachael also opened one for Temmy but wasn’t drinking herself. Temmy’s countenance has already changed, obviously disappointed and brokenhearted. He couldn’t believe Rachael could approve of him drinking beer talk-less of opening it for him to drink publicly. I was thinking about how we’ll escape the drunkard gathering we found ourselves when the MC took the microphone and announced they are starting a game called “Pass the basket”. According to him, the game will be played by passing around a compact disc while the music is on and whoever has the disc when DJ stop the music will stand up ans face another fellow chosen in the same manner, to undergo some task which will be decided by the MC. Penalty for opting out is N5000, why for not answering a question or doing a task or refusing a task to be done on you is N1000. Temmy and I decided to leave immediately but Temmy was drawn back to sit by Rachael saying we’ll enjoy the game. We stayed to avoid embarrassment but that decision proved to be a costly one. The game started and the contestant or should I say victims were asked to do nasty things to each other like kissing in front of everybody whether they know each other before or not. Also asking them to touch or grab a sensitive part of the other. The game continued and the disc was dropped on the table exactly in my front while the DJ stop the music in a manner that looks like a total set up. I protested I’m not interested and do not have any money to pay. To make the matter worse, I was going to play with Uche! Who deliberately volunteer without the disc been passed to her as she is the celebrant. This evidently showed it was a set up by her. I was ushered or simply dragged to the front, standing with Uche where I was able to see Funmi very well. Funmi did stood up and came to me speaking directly into my ear “You said weren’t coming to the party with me, yet you are here with another lady. Why are you trying to make me jealous?” with her mouth smelling alcohol and her manner of speech shows she’s drunk. She left my side and spoke with the MC as he handed the mic over to her announcing she’s handling our session. Surprised will be an understatement as I witness the angel I’ve always admire turn into a demonic evil. She pick the mic and gave me three tasks; one is to remove three things from Uche that nobody can see from outside; two is to allow her do the same; and three is to kiss her mouth to mouth. From the way she was speaking it’s obvious she’s totally drunk. Me: Funmi when did you join the drunkard gang? You are a lady for Christ sake. She busted into laughter as I started leaving the place but was blocked by some hefty guys who ordered me to go back to the stage. My statement about “drunkard gang” obviously infuriate them as it shows they are ready to fight. Temmy had already stood up obviously coming to my aid as I tried to maneuver my way out of the place. “So who are the drunkard gang?” a voice from my back asked. The guy obviously stronger than I am then pushed me backwards and I made a regrettable mistake of pushing him back with so much force he nearly fall over. Before I could escape the place, the other guy hit me with a plank in the head. I felt my my head vibrated in God-knows how many revolutions per second before everything turned upside down and I started going down till everything went totally blank and dark. |
EPISODE THIRTEEN MFYL The light was taken and I decided to sit in front of the locked shop adjacent to my hostel, so I can witness what’s going on in the street. I was reading one of my favorite books by John C Maxwell when Uche came disturbing again. Uche: What’s up supervisor Me: Uche you miss road? Uche: How do you mean? Me: I heard you saying supervisor Uche: that’s you now Me: Confirmed, you are lost Uche: Thanks for yesterday Me: You are welcome. What brought you here? Uche: We came visiting a friend at that blue hostel. Why are you sitting alone? Me: I love it that way Uche: (She checked the book I was reading) I don’t know what you people see in this type of book you read Me: Which kind do you suggest? Uche: Who is suggesting book when you can just watch movie or go partying Me: Thank you. We’ll see on Monday, oh! I mean we’ll see when we see. Uche; Are you chasing me away? By the way how was your date with Janet yesterday? Me: I never told you I was going out with Janet, neither did I tell you I was going on a date. Uche: Anyway, I hope you know she’s just using you Me: How do you mean? Uche: Well, for your information, Janet is engaged for marriage though the guy is currently out of the country. Me: And how did you know that? Uche: Hello! She was my friend. I’m sure she’ll have told you I snatched her boyfriend Me: Did you? Uche: It wasn’t snatching, she was just playing the guy like you Me: So you snatch the guy Uche: I only told him the truth, I never told him to love me Me: Wao! Nice snatching excuse Uche: I did not snatch him and don’t think I’m trying to snatch you too. Though it might be hard to say no if you come asking Me: really? Well, I’m not dating Janet, so no snatching in this case. Uche: So you are saying you like me Me; You seems to be drunk, please let me enjoy my book Uche: That’s how you guys normally do, you’ll soon come begging Me: Accepted, till then bye. Uche: I’ll like to invite you to my birthday party next week Saturday at my hostel Me: Happy birthday in advance, but I don’t attend night party Uche: I did not say night party. It’s 4pm during the day Me: Okay I’ll think about it Uche: You’ll come. I’ll make sure of it. Take care (She try to touch my cheek) I don’t know what she meant by “I’ll make sure of it”, waiting to see how she’ll tie and bundle me down to her party. Maybe she’s planning to use Janet to lure me and if that’s the case, she just entered one chance. Later in the evening I received a text message from Janet saying “baby I’m missing you. Can you come over please?” but I ignored the message. Funmi also sent a message saying “thank you” for the reception I gave her earlier and I replied her message with “thank you for coming over, I’ll love to see more of you here and around me. Good night.” I put a call through to Temmy but he was not picking up so I decided to go to night class alone. Truth is, I’ve been unease since the time I saw those guys reading by the library shed and that led to my decision to start a full scale reading towards the coming first semester exams. It was so surprising for me getting to the hall and discovered there are many people already engrossed in serious reading. “So I’ve been watching away my life in Game of Throne camouflage”. The beautiful thing about night class at this period of the semester is that, only the serious minded ones are there to read and not the other type of students who come to night class to eat, drink and meet friends. I chose a lonely corner with bright white light reflections, less distractions and sit directly behind a lady fully covered in an overall dress. I started reading around 8pm and was so focus dissecting mechanics till around 11pm when the lady sited in front of me knock my table and said “I’m leaving”. Me: Funmi! (Surprised). So you are the one sited here all this while Funmi: I saw you when you entered the hall and even thought you were coming to meet me here Me: Honestly I did not know you were the one. I only chose this place because of the light. Since when have you been coming here? Funmi: I started last week, exam is closer you know. I’ve been here since 7pm and should have left before 10 Me: So why the extra hour? Funmi: I was waiting for you Me: Hmm. Do you come to this hall every evening? Funmi: Yes for now, till when the hall will started getting rowdy. Me: why can’t you read in your room? You stay alone right? Funmi: Yes I stay alone but my room was never free of the girls. They are either watching movie or just there to gist which is why I do excused myself out to study Me: I get it. It’s late already, I can’t allow you to go home all alone. Give me like 10 to 15min to finish up this part so we can leave together. Funmi: Alright, give me your phone, let me be checking pictures. I handed over the phone to her and continue with my mechanics till I met my target for the night. I followed her down to her hostel and got back to my room some minutes to 12 midnight. She called me later to confirm if I’m home and we chatted on Whatsapp till around 2am before we called it quit. Night class became our meeting point as I reschedule my time so I can always get there by 7pm for us to leave by 10 or at most 11pm. After neglecting numerous texts and calls from Janet and refusing to go to their hostel for 2 or 3 days, she stop asking about me to my delight, as we only see occasionally. Uche did try to use Janet to lure me to her party by also inviting Temmy and Rachael, but I still refused to go. Besides, going to party will mean missing my now usual evening meeting with Funmi on the said day. On Friday while I was seeing Funmi off, back to her hostel from the night class, she told me she won’t be coming to read the following day. Me: Why? Are you traveling? Funmi: No, I’ll be going to a party in the evening and will probably be tired after that. Me: Oh, you like party that much? Funmi: I do rock party a lot but I’m trying to reduce it now. Me: There is no way you can reduce it if you are still keeping those friends of yours. Funmi: It’s not easy to let go of them Me: You do bypass them to study at night class Funmi: That’s different. My social life is built around my friends Me: But you can bypass this very party Funmi: The lady has been on my neck over a month concerning the party. I”ll love it if we can go together Me: Thank you, I’ll pass. Funmi: what will you be doing at that period? Me: It’s Saturday, there are numerous things to do Funmi: Things like? Me: Choir rehearsal, though I’ve received a message saying it won’t hold tomorrow. Funmi: So? Me: New Premiership season has started, I’ll go watch soccer. Funmi: Who watch football over party? Me: I do. Football is at the center of my own social life. Outside it, my social life is zero. Funmi: Anyway, if you change your mind, give me a call. I’ll come pick you. Me: I don’t see that happening though, but I’ve heard you. The unimaginable happened on Saturday by 4pm, the time Uche’s party supposed to start. I received a call from my supervisor dishing out instructions in his usual manner without allowing me to make any point. Me: Hello sir Supervisor: You this boy, where are you? Me: Watching football sir Supervisor: So it’s true you won’t be coming to your colleague’s birthday party? Me: Sir I’m not . . . Supervisor: What kind of person are you? I’m currently there and I want you to meet me there immediately or you lose 20marks Me: Excuse me sir, this does not. . . Supervisor: I am not arguing with you boy. Just remember your scrotum is in my hand (He terminates the call) |
Sorry for the earlier typos and grammatical blunders. I do edit on phone and you'll agree with me phone is limited in that regard. Thanks |
EPISODE TWELVE (MY FINAL YEAR LOVE) We came some minutes late into the service and the worship session had already begun. Contrary to the ushers direction, we went straight to a place where we can see clearly what the instrumentalist are up to. Temmy and I were also part of the choir but were not in rehearsals on Saturday with obvious reason for Temmy while mine was a dumb reason, which is why I tried as much as possible to avoid any of the choir executives to avoid answering questions on why I wasn’t at the rehearsals. The worship session was a dull moment for me as the lady leading decided to use all the keys her voice could pick to the obvious emotional and psychological trauma of the keyboardist who shared the mutual frustration with both the lead and base guitarist. The drummer was on his own as he has turned worship songs to masquerade beat, hitting the snare and base drum in sanely incoherent manner while the invited minister was just starring at him with the generating set going off and on. I guess the set wasn’t enjoying them either. God eventually came to our rescue as the choir coordinator change both the lead singer and the drummer for the praise session sensing the obvious slaughtering of the worship songs by two of his music soldiers. The service went sweet afterwards with the invited minister hammering the Word as if he knows what I exactly needed to hear that moment. The service came to an end and the first timers were asked to stand while the ushers guided them to the front seats. One notable figure among the first timer was a lady in glittering pink gown. Her sense of dressing obviously shows she’s not of our fellowship with her gold colour neck chain complementing the dangling earring which only add more beauty to her light radiating shinning skin. Her smile which I could only view from the side is enough to break a forty days fast without food or water and still be filled. The way she carried herself going to the front as they sing a welcoming song for them is like that of angel riding on mysterious horse. At the saying of the grace, I picked my Bible and headed straight for my hostel as Temmy will be having some final year executive meeting. I’ve not taken up to seven steps when I was hijacked by the choir’s female coordinator who contrary to my expectation of her questioning my absence from the rehearsals on Saturday, only asked about my welfare and project. We spoke for a while and as I was about leaving, heard a warm, sweet, angelically melodious and contagious voice over my shoulder “William”. I looked at the direction of the voice and behold it was the first timer lady with the pink dress. Looking more closely, guess who it was; I’ve known her to be beautiful judging from the last time I saw her, but I never knew her beauty surpasses my imagination. I was already drenched in a pool of emotion sighting her in full smile and noticing her intimidating curvy shape I’ve never noticed before but made visible by the elegance dress. Damn! She’s beautiful. Funmi: Good afternoon William. Happy Sunday to you. Me: Happy Sunday Funmi, how are you? Funmi: I’m fine. I really enjoyed your service Me: Happy to hear that Funmi: I’m thinking of changing over to your fellowship Me: You are highly welcome. But why? Funmi: I got tired of my church Me: You got tired of your church? Which church is that? Funmi: Well, I don’t really have a permanent church. I go wherever I like on Sundays Me: And why is that? You’ve not found any church you love? Funmi: (Sighs) alright, the truth is, this is the first time I’ll be attending a church service since I got admission into this school Me: Wao! Almost five years? Funmi: More than that, ever since I lost my mum some years ago. Me: Oh, sorry about that Funmi: Thanks. I’m here today because of somebody very dear to me. Though he doesn’t know it. Me: So you have somebody like that here. And who is that? Maybe I know him. Funmi: You did know him and he knows you. He’s dark, of average height and always wear a contagious smile. Me: Hmm, you sound like a lady in love. Funmi: Maybe, and yes he’s my angel. Me: Wao! (So she already has somebody. I really wish I’m the one she’s talking about). Have you found him? Funmi: Yes, gladly yes. Me: So it’s a mere coincidence we meet here then Funmi: (Smiling) not really. I know this is your church. Me: How did you? Funmi: I got a tip from a friend Me: Which friend, Ronke? Temmy: (Talking over my shoulder) I am the friend, “eye meji ko hun jasa” Me: What did you guys planned behind my back? Temmy: Stay there. I’ll be going to Rachael’s hostel from here, see you guys later. Take care Funmi Funmi: thank you Temmy Me: Are you guys acting a script? Funmi: (Smiling) can we go to your place? Me: Yeah. Where is your ride? Funmi: She needs servicing so I left her for my mechanic to pick up Me: Your mechanic work on Sunday? Funmi: He decided to do it today Me: Okay Funmi: William, I am very sorry about yesterday Me: What happened yesterday? Funmi: I’m sorry I couldn’t make it there and my phone was totally down I couldn’t reach you Me: No problem, I’m not upset Funmi: Really, is that true? Me: Yeah, sort of Funmi: I know you are angry. Temmy told me you were. Me: Okay, now I’m going to kill that boy Funmi: I’m the one that asked him now Me: (Sighs) Truth be told, I was a bit angry, though I got there late myself. Funmi: I’m really sorry Me: No problem. By the way, what about your friend you came for? Funmi: He’s fine Me: Will you at least tell me his name? Don’t worry I won’t tell him your love for him Funmi: I’ll tell you his name later. And he’ll find out my love for him by himself. We left the church and headed for my hostel. We branched at a shop where I bought cold juice and also bought some smoked fish, eggs, onions and fresh tomatoes at the next shop. Clueless of what my plan was, she offered to pay for the items I bought to which I rejected vehemently. We got to my hostel with bunch of hostel guys sitting right in front of the lodge. I tried to find a way to bypass them to avoid their unwanted jokes portraying emotional bully and character assassination. Fortunately for me, they got distracted by a sudden noise coming from the other side of the street to which I took the advantage and zoom past them like an escape deer from the lions den, avoiding Funmi from greeting them. Entering the room I switched on the fan and she had already made herself comfortable on the mattress before I could offer her to sit as there was no chair in our room. I asked for her favorite type of movie to which she chose American to my relief as I don’t have Nollywood films on the system. I opened the Hollywood folder for her to chose whichever she desire there as I excused myself to the kitchen to prepare a Grade-A noddles she will live to remember. The noddles was done and I served her and myself in different plates and pour some juice for her asking her to eat. Me: Can you please pause it and eat now? Funmi: (Looking at the meal) Wao! This looks great Me: Believe me, more than the aesthetic value, it taste great. Funmi: Really? Me: Try it out Funmi: (She took some bites) this taste really good for a guy Me: What do you mean for a guy? I’m sure I am better than most ladies in cooking Funmi: (laughed) Well you try Me: (I took some bites) This is indeed grade-A delicious Funmi: You are praising yourself Me: yes now, because I’m sure of myself She took more bites while talk along and suddenly switch our meal Me: (Laughing) what’s that for? Funmi: I have feeling yours is more delicious (She took some bites). I said it! It’s more delicious Me: (I took some bite off her own) Wao! So I’ve been cheating myself all this while Funmi: what’s that? Me; Mehn! This is by far more delicious Funmi: Really, you are cheating me She changed the it again, took some bites and decided we are eating together. Funmi: it seems whichever you eat get more delicious, we are so eating each plate together. That was how we eat, joke, gist and laughed together. After the meal she took the plates to the kitchen and washed them even though I tried to stop her from doing it. We then watched the movie together. She was watching “Diary of a Black woman”. At a point we almost neglect the movie in totality and started a deep conversation. She told me a lot about herself, how she lost her mother at age 10 and has never been to church since then blaming God for not saving her mother as she was the only one that died in the motor accident while all others involved were saved. Her father has refused to marry since then, though he recently told her he met a woman he’ll love to marry but has not made any move to that regard. Her father made taking care of her a priority over marrying another wife as he was scared, the new wife might maltreat her. I tried talking her into coming to church and forgetting her past, telling her God is unquestionable and He’s the only One we can run to when things go bad or good. Around 5pm she received a call from her mechanic telling her he’s done with the car, to which she asked him to bring the car down to my hostel as it’s closer to the mechanics’ workshop. The car was brought and I saw her off to the car not after she gave me a warm and emotional embrace I’m likely not going to forget anytime soon. Some minutes after that, Janet put a call through to me asking me to come for dinner at their side with Temmy’s backing to which I decline saying I’m busy and filled. I was actually trying to avoid Janet and her complicated relationship. |
EPISODE ELEVEN MFYL At this point I know she’s hiding something but I’m not ready to dig more. Ordinarily I will be happy with her “no complicated” relationship, but I’m not that guy anymore. I wonder why she was jealous of Uche then. Hope she’s not trying to eat her cake and have it? Well, Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve being friend zoned. I started feeling uncomfortable with her and only trying to cover it up. She noticed my unease attitude but I used strolling to cover up. “You know what, lets stroll down the school” I said. We strolled down the school talking and laughing along while she holds my hand sometimes and other times place it across her shoulder. We chatted through the evening following the paths we had planned until it started to get dark. We headed down to her hostel with her hand never letting go of mine and she urged me to enter their hostel to have my dinner. Well that offer sounds so great some hours ago but I’ll pass this time. We met Temmy and Rachael by the gate of their hostel coming out and it seems I’ve lost my friend to Rachael. Temmy: Where are you guys coming from? Me: We just. . . Janet: From a romantic trip (she cuts in) Rachael: Romantic? Janet: Yes, anything wrong with that? Rachael: Don’t tell me you guys are. . . Oh my God, I can’t believe that. Cool! Temmy: Guy, we’ll talk later right? Me: Positive. I’ll be at home Rachael: You are leaving already? Why now? Me: I got stuffs to sort out Janet: You didn’t tell me about that Me: Sorry it escaped my mind, I’m just remembering now. See you guys later. I left them there at the gate and headed for my room. I replayed the scenario on my head and see Cynthia’s case study happening all over again. “Damn, why do I keep falling in the same pit? Am I that dumb?”. All these were going through my thought when my phone rang, I checked and it’s Uche. I ignore the call but she kept calling until I picked up. Me: Hello Uche: Hey, why are you ignoring my call? Me: You won’t be able to tell me that if I did not pick it. What’s the matter? Uche: Oh Oh, are we fighting? Me: why did you said so? Uche: You are responding as if you never wanted my call Me: Sorry about that, so why did you call? Uche: Just want to say thank you for the other time. Me: You are welcome. See you on Monday. Uche: Wait now! I’ll also like to tell you some things you don’t know about your girlfriend. Me: Which girlfriend? Uche: Don’t worry, till Monday. Or should I come on Sunday? Me: No, I’ll be busy Uche: It’s not good now, or you come to my place, I stay alone. Me: Why would I do that? Uche: there are some stuffs I want to learn on computer, I just got a new Laptop Me: Really, congratulations. I can’t come still. Bring it on Monday. Uche: Okay just get me something while coming on Monday Me: Uche later! “What does she meant by what I don’t know about my girlfriend. Well she’s not my girlfriend, whatever it might be is none of my business. Besides I don’t trust this Uche of a lady” I went home back to my Games of throne till Temmy came back. I narrated my ordeal with my supervisor, Janet an Uche to him, to which we talked and laughed about. He also told me about Funmilola, how nice she was and how she was staring at my pictures. We both went back to the movie and watched till the system’s got low and couldn’t continue because there is no power to charge it. We slept afterwards and tomorrow soon come. It’s a norm on Saturdays to play or watch street soccer on our mini wembley pitch where we use monkey post as the goal post. I went alone with my kits as Temmy is still recovering from the injuries he sustained from the accident. We played football for almost two hours with four sets playing alternatively depending on who score the golden goal first. If there is no scorer in the range of 15min then penalty is used to separate the winner. Our type of penalty is a back heel target of a monkey post without a goalkeeper. My set sustained the playing time for four straight session before we were eliminated through the penalty. By this time I could hear the discussion going on by the sitting side of the pitch, where guys, some with their babes are only there to make jest of others and argue about professional footballers and teams, or talk politics. As I was about to sit down, one guy just shouted “Will Will, Ekun (Tiger)”. I just smile and ignore him as I am damn tired. Then another guy said “Will you try o, na you make your set last, your accuracy no be here”. Then the first guy shouted “yes o, Will na sharp shooter, as him dey shoot for field na so him dey do for room”. Everybody including myself laughed while another guy said “I used to think Will na pastor o” to which that first guy replied “pas-kini, that guy na maradona”. He stood and raise his two hands and one leg facing me saying “Baba o, owo meji feyan kan, pelese kan, kee pe o baba”. I was too tired to be responding to the guy, I was just laughing as everybody else. Besides defending myself will only make the guys start opening my profiles, either truth, misjudged or created by them. The second set to play scored and we went back to playing field and that made me escape the den of onlooker bully. We were on the third session when I saw Temmy signaling to me from afar off o come. I left the field asking somebody to replace me. Me: What’s up? Temmy: It’s okay now, after 3hours Me: Cho! Are you serious about that? Temmy: I want us to go to town together. I need to get a drug, I’m feeling somehow. Me: How exactly are you feeling? Temmy: Malaria like, I’ve been feeling head ache since I woke up. Me: So which drug do we buy now? Temmy: I don’t even know the name, but those guys will recognize it when they see the doctor’s writing Me: Then let me go and get it while you rest. Temmy: No let’s go together Me: I hope it’s truly malaria or Rachael has impregnated you? (we both laughed as he tried to kick me while I escape) I took my bath and we both left for town to get the drugs. We bought the drugs and some other stuffs and also branch the market to get tomatoes, pepper, meat, vegetable and other requirements in order for us to make a decent soup. We went back to our lodge only to meet Uche sitting right in front of the hostel. Uche: Oh, thank God you are here Me: What’s wrong? Uche: Please I’ve come with my system, let’s do my project now. Me: But we agreed to meet on Monday now Uche: Please I beg you, our supervisor sent me a text message this morning that I must submit unfailingly on Monday (She showed me the text) Me: (I tried checking the time on my phone then I discovered I wasn’t with it) Temmy, you have my phone? Temmy: Nope, I think you left it in the room Uche: No wonder, I’ve called you several times but you weren’t picking Me: Oh! Please what’s the time? Temmy: Let’s say 30min after One. Me: Uche, it means we have just 1hour, by 2:30pm I’m done Uche: Why now? Me: I’m going somewhere by 3pm Uche: With Janet? I’ll beg her Me: Not with Janet and what’s your business with that self. I sat with her while we both edit her work. I used some of the materials I already have to re-write some paragraphs I thought were not in tune with the project topic. I also help her with Literature review and by the time we were done it was already 3pm. Meanwhile Rachael had come over to help us with the soup as Temmy wasn’t physically fit to do it and I was tied down with Uche’s project. I ate some of the meal, dressed up and left for the school library. I got there some minutes to four which was far behind the scheduled time. I met no one at the shed except for some dudes reading at the other side of the shed. I guessed she has come and left so I tried calling her but that lady with a voice like the sound of a pile-mess won’t stop saying “the number you have dialed is switched off”. I asked the guys reading if they had been there before 3 o’clock to which they answered yes but did not see anybody at the shed since they’ve come except for passers-by. I waited for her thinking she might have some disturbances like I had with Uche till around 5pm then I took my leave. I went home disappointed, asking myself the purpose for taking the meeting to heart in the first place. Reading my book as exam approaches should be my priority now not meeting with some fake Cinderella who couldn’t keep to promise. I don’t want to see her again self (well I’m not sure if I mean that last statement). |
EPISODE TEN MFYL I dialed the number again and she picked up. Me: Hello Funmi Funmi: Hello Williams Me: Long time, How are you doing? Funmi: I’m fine. I’m sure you are fine too. Me: How do you mean? Funmi: I saw you today. But you seem not to recognize me Me: (Error, I always love to cover up stuffs like that) really, where? Funmi: Don’t worry. Hope your trip wasn’t stressful. Me: Trip? I eventually did not go. (But how did she know?) Funmi: Oh, your room-mate said you went on a trip with your supervisor. Me: You were in my room? Funmi: Yes, your room mate got hit by my car yesterday, so I had to visit him. Me: Wao! So you were the said lady? Funmi: I wasn’t the one that drive Me: I know that. Thanks a lot but how did you know that’s my room? Funmi: I saw your pictures Me: I see, thanks for the cardigan. Funmi: No, thanks to you. I never get chance to thank you for that day. Me: You don’t have to Funmi: I’ll love to meet you. Can we meet at that eatery tomorrow? Me: Which eatery? Funmi: Oh sorry, let’s meet by the shed in front of the library tomorrow Me: Okay, around what time? Funmi: Any time you’ll be free Me: I’m totally free tomorrow but 4pm will be okay. Funmi: Won’t that be too far? Me: I’m thinking weather will be cool by that time Funmi: Let’s make it 3pm ple-a-se? Me: Okay 3 it is but how did you . . . Funmi: Thanks. See ya tomorrow “Cho! She seems happy. Wait! Was she the one that paid for my meal at the eatery? Now it’s making perfect sense. So she has a car, and the rich one among her friends. No wonder she sound so commanding. Well that’s a turn off for me, I’m just gonna see her tomorrow and that’s all. I can’t be in a relationship where the lady is the commander and besides, Janet is there. I’m going to formalize our relationship this evening.” As i was trying to lie back on the mattress, my phone rang and it’s Janet. “Talk of the devil” Me: Hello Jane Janet: Will, where are you? Me: In my room Janet: So you are back and did not call me Me: I’m sorry, I just . . . Janet: I’m coming over Me: Oh! What of Temmy and Rachael? Janet: They are here loving up. I’m coming Me: Alright. This sound like a good opportunity to cement our relationship. I turned on the system and open “Games of throne”. While this was playing, the rock selection continued to play underground then i heard a knock on the door. “That can’t be Janet, their place is not that close.” Me: Yes who is it? Person: Good afternoon, it’s I, Uche Me: (Cho! I don’t think I know any Uche, besides I thought Uche is masculine but that voice is surely of a lady) Come in, the door is not locked. She came in and happen to be the lady I saw earlier today. We shared the same supervisor. Me: Oh! It’s you, I don’t know you bears Uche Uche: Which one do you know? Me: Honestly I never knew your name Uche: Because you have your own peeps you talk to and never look our side. Me: Same as you now. I’m even surprised to see you in my room. You guys are the big girls of the class now, small boy like me cannot relate. Uche: What big girl? It’s your perspective. We see you as a proud person self. Me: Proud? Far from it. Anyway, why are you here? Uche: Won’t you offer me something first? Me: (What is it now?) Oh sorry. (I poured some of the Five-A-Live for her) There you have it. Uche: (Sips some) Thank you. Me: So what do you want? Uche: Chil now, let me finish this drink first. I really love your room set up. Me: (O o o This babe will surely ruin this evening for me) Oh thanks. You’ll have to talk on time, ‘cos I’m going somewhere. Uche: Really? I thought you were watching film (pointing to the paused “Games of throne” on the system) Which film is that? Me: Games of throne Uche: Oh! I’ve heard of the film. Which part is this? Majid is there right? Me: (Majid koo Odunlade ni) It’s a British series and that’s season two. Uche: Nna, I love the babe’s hair (Pointing to “Khalesi”) Me: Seriously Uche, why are you here? Uche: Please play the film, let’s watch together. At this point, I’ve started boiling inside as I’m sure if Janet should meet her here, especially with the way she dressed, she’ll think of something else. I heard a knock on the door and I answered but nobody responded. I decided to check who was there only to found Janet staring at me like i just broke something. She then turned back and started leaving. Me: Janet! (I grabbed her hand) What’s wrong? Janet: Nothing Me: Common you're just here and started leaving without saying anything. What’s the matter? Janet: You never told me you have a visitor. Me: Sincerely I never knew she was coming and I don’t know why or what she’s here for Janet: So why haven’t you chase her out? Me: I’ve tried to. . . Please coming in I stylishly draw her along. She only saw the lady’s shoe o and she’s this jealous, menh! We entered the room and Uche was already lying down on the mattress. Me: Uche, please you need to leave now, I told you I’m going somewhere. Uche: Why now? Janet: Uche? Uche: Janet? What are you doing here? Or is he? (Rolling her eyes towards me) Janet: Yeah, he is. What are you doing here? Uche: I needed him to help me with my project write up Me: Wait, you guys know each other? Janet: Yes, we used to be room mates. Me: Oh, really? Uche: Yeah, when we were in 100level. Please check this write up for me (She took out the write up from her bag) Me: That can’t be this evening. I told you I’m going somewhere Uche: Please check it, it won’t take time. Janet help me beg him please. Janet: Check it for her Will. Me: (Something tells me it’s not from her heart). I took the script from her and read through. Honestly, what she wrote was out of it. Highly disjointed paragraphs, but telling her would mean I'll be writing another one for her and i don’t think I’m ready to do that, especially not now. She also refused to present her Aim and Objectives. Me: Listen Uche, you don’t have Aim and Objective. Try to get that first then restructure your paragraphs. With that, you are good. Uche: Please, I don’t know what to write as Aim and Objective. Let me write your own since the project topic is similar Me: (See this one o, I should give you mine so that our supervisor can subtract another mark) You can’t write my own Uche, our materials are different. Uche: Please now, I’ll change the grammar. Me: Okay, I’ll help you get yours, but not now. Let’s meet on Monday. Uche: Monday is too far now, why not tomorrow, by evening? Me: (They send you to me? You want to spoil tomorrow’s show too) Uche Monday. It’s usually a lecture free day for us anyway. Uche: I wanted to submit on Monday Me: Go and do what you can do there, by Monday we’ll look at it together, then you can submit. Uche: Okay give me your number so I can call you on Monday. Me: Alright, 08... Uche: Wait I beg, my phone is not ready. I gave her my number and she left. Jane had already started watching the movie on the system and I saw this as a perfect opportunity to let out my mind, but how do I start. I really hope this Uche of a girl has not spoil the show already. Me: I’m sorry about that, I never knew she would show up here. Janet: No problem, just be careful with her. Me: Of course I will Janet: She’s a really bad girl Me: I know she forms big girl in class, but bad girl how? Janet: She tried to snatch our then room mate’s boyfriend. Me: Oh, I see. You seem to enjoy this movie though. Janet: Yeah, I particularly love this lady’s hair. But her husband is too hefty Me: What’s with you ladies obsession with khalesi hair. They look good together don’t you think. Janet: Well, maybe. Me: That could be us you know Janet: Hmm, but i don’t have a blond’s hair and you are not hefty Me: (I hold her hands) You can always fix something like that if you want and I can always enter gym to develop those if it takes that. Janet: (She paused for a moment) Will Me: I’m all hears Janet: (using her hand to rub my cheek) Don’t you think we are good like this? Me: I don’t get you Janet: Instead of complicating things, can’t we just be friends. Something more than ordinary friend as we are now Me: Friend with benefits? Janet: Something like that. Me: So you are saying we can’t date Janet: I did not say that, just that, it can’t be possible, at least not now. Me: Till when? Janet: Anything is possible later dear, we are fine now. Me: But you have not tell me the reason Janet: I just don’t want us to complicate things. |
EPISODE NINE MFYL I checked my phone for the time and it’s some minutes after 2pm. I couldn’t believe I’ve stayed that long. As I was about slotting my phone back into my pocket it rang and it was Temmy. Me: Hello boss Temmy: Guy how far now, you said you’ll call, where are you? Me: Long story boss, I’m on my way back home. Temmy: Safe journey bro, Rachael and Janet ask you to bring something unique from Akure. Me: O boy, I did noy go to Akure, it’s a long story, I’ll tell you everything when I’m back. I’ll get them something though. Temmy: Alright bro. I’ll be going to their side anytime soon Me: No probs, hope my food is still intact. Temmy: I’m not sure, later bro. Him saying “not sure” means they’ve probably consume the food. With the way I’m feeling hungry, I decided to do what’s unusual of me. I branched at eatery. I must confess, I don’t have that thing for eatery. This will be my second time of entering or eating in any eatery since I gained admission to the school. The first being when I was trying to impress Sandra. I took her there on my birthday while I was in two hundred level. I entered the popular eatery close to my lodge and met some extremely dressed ladies occupying more than half of the seats, chatting and making jest of each other, laughing out loud not minding others sited there. I went straight to the attendant to order for fried rice. While ordering for rice, the ladies suddenly stop laughing leaving the whole place silent except for the TV commentary. Just like every other persons in the eatery, I looked towards their direction to see why they stopped, lo and behold they were all staring at me. I withdrew my eye and the attendant Me: Is something wrong with me? Attendant: (looked at me and smile) You are okay sir, Me: So why are they staring at me? Attendant: You don’t know? Me: I’m lost Attendant: You are looking great. Me: (looked at myself again) thanks, but that shouldn’t be a reason for staring. By the way how on earth is this combination attractive? Attendant: Looks great on you Me: Thank you (smiling) Attendant: Drink? Me: Bottle water. Their silence makes more audible the commentary coming from the plasma TV located at a corner. I found my way to the other side of the eatery staring at the football highlights being displayed. In a short while my food was brought and I started to do justice to it. I took my time eating, simply because I was enjoying the football highlights. The football highlights ended and started that of baseball or cricket, I don’t really know the difference and this made me focus on my food. As I was about to finish the meal, an attendant place placed a chill Five-A-Live juice on my tray. Me: I’m sorry, I did not order for this Attendant2: One of the ladies asked me to put it for you. Me: Which one? (I looked to their side only to discover they’ve left) Attendant2: She has left Me: I’m sorry I’ll have to return this, I don’t even have the belly I’ll drink all this to. I’m filled up already, thanks to this water. Attendant2: She already paid for it. You can take it home This is not good for my ego. I don’t even know who to say thank you to the next time I see them. I stood up and went straight to the attendant to pay. I tendered a One thousand Naira note to her. Attendant: Your meal has been paid for Me: (confused now) by who? Attendant: The same person that bought you the juice Me: Please can you describe her to me? Do you know her personally? Attendant: She said she’ll get to you Me: Really? Attendant2: Don’t worry bros, she’s the rich one among them, others are mere following. Attendant: She’s also cool and kindhearted. She’s not a bad girl like her friends. Me: Hmm, alright thank you. You guys can buy airtime with this then. I handed over the 1000 note to them to which they were both happy and appreciative. I needed to do that to earn a little of my pride back. I headed home from the eatery, trying to know which of the ladies it could be. I realized I did not look at them long enough, I’m not sure I’ll recognize any of them. I got to my room and decided to take a nap. I put the fan on while listening to a rock selection with Taylor Swift’s “You belong to me” first on the track list. It was the knock on the door that brought me back to consciousness. Me: Yes who is it? Person: It’s me (her voice sounded like that of our next room neighbor Ronke) Me: (I opened the door and saw her holding a nylon bag) What’s up Ronke, it’s been long I set my eye on you. Will you come in? Ronke: I’m not coming in jare, my project is really eating up everything about me Me: Oh, sorry. Ronke: You are enjoying now, at least you can sleep. I’m only here to pick something Me: Then use that opportunity to rest Ronke: You don’t understand, my eye must not leave those rats Me: It’ll soon be over, don’t worry. Ronke: Thanks. I saw one of my faculty mate outside our lodge and she asked me to give you this (she handed the bag to me and left immediately) Me: Thank you Ronke Ronke: You are welcome “Now this is getting weirder, who is this one again? And she said “she”. Who do I know in the faculty of medical sciences?” I opened the bag and saw two packages, one cloth-like and the other like a letter, both well wrapped. I decided to open the letter first and it read “please call me if you recognize the cloth. Funmi 080…”. “Funmi? I don’t think I know any Funmi”. I unwrapped the cloth, lo and behold it was my cardigan. Now it’s making sense, and I could now remember her name was Funmilola. I picked my phone dial the number on the short note and my phone displays “Funmilola”. I terminated the call immediately, “how did her number got saved on my phone?”. I was still thinking how this could be possible when she called back. I ignore the call, picking it would mean I flashed her to call back. While trying to remember the scenario of that day I recollect she took my phone for a while. That must be how she stored the number without my knowledge. I dialed the number again and she picked up. |
EPISODE EIGHT MFYL I kept mute and decided to think of something else to distract myself from the reality around me with no success at that. I pulled her closer, kissed her on the fore head and said “Good night”. I woke up to a sweet aroma coming from our kitchen. Janet wasn’t in my arm any longer, Temmy is still sleeping and Rachael is no more on the mattress. I also discovered I was covered with the cover cloth. It was 6:30 AM and I stood up to see what’s going on in the kitchen only to discover it was only Janet. Me: Good morning Jane Janet: Will! How was your night? Me: Great, and yours? Janet: Fantastic! Me: Hmm, where is Rachael? Janet: She’s using the toilet Me: I see. I’m enjoying this aroma Janet: Don’t worry, it’s for breakfast Me: I can’t wait We both laughed as Rachael comes out of the toilet, which also combine as bathroom. Me: Rachael good morning, how is your body now? Rachael: I’m fine, except the pain I’m feeling on my right leg which I did not feel yesterday. Me: Sorry dear, by the time you eat and take your drug it will be down. Rachael: Thanks. Temmy is still sleeping. Me: He only sleeps like that when he’s extremely tired or ill. Janet: Will, what’s your plan for today? Me: Well I have a paper to submit, nothing more. Janet: When will you be submitting? I was about to answer when my phone rang. Checked and it was an unfamiliar number. I picked the call and caller started dishing out commands without introduction. Me: Hello Caller: Hello, I want you to meet me by 7am at my office and I hope you have some money with you because we are going down to Akure this morning to get some of the materials you’ll be needing for your project. Hello are you listening? Me: Yes sir, I. . . Caller: Good, I’m already on my way to the school, if you miss the 7am time, you’ll meet me in Akure by yourself or you don’t graduate. (He terminated the call) Me: How on earth did this man get my number? Janet: What’s wrong? Me: My supervisor just called, we are good to Akure by 7 Janet: 7! Meaning you has 15min left. Your lecturer is crazy o. I rushed down into the bathroom, took my bath as if I did not, brushing my teeth simultaneously. Dressed up almost immediately and ready to move. Rachael: eat something before leaving now. Janet: Yes, no matter how small. Temmy: Boy where to? Rachael: Akure, his supervisor just called him Temmy: Oh! That madman, let him go on time, the man can do and undo. Me: Boss, how’s your body now? Please take your drugs, I’ll call when we get there. Rachael, Janet, you guys should take care. See you later. I hurried out of the room walking so fast as if I’m being chased. I checked the time and it’s 7am already and I still have some miles to cover before I get to his office. I really wish bikes go through school, it would have being easier for me. I got to his office around 5min after 7, sweating profusely, only to meet the door locked. I thought to myself “has the man already left? How did he expect me to be here by 7am around that time he called? Why didn’t he inform me yesterday?” I decided to sit down on the pavement in front of his office not knowing what next to do. “Should I go back home and carry over the course has he had threatened or go to Akure on my own. By the way, where do I know he’s going in Akure and today is public holiday”. While waiting, I was joined by two others whom the man also supervises. He had called them to me him by 7am too. Well, now that we are many, maybe we can take decision together. We all sat there discussing our different encounters concerning chapter one, there I discovered I was the only one to have submitted anything at all. I became their tutor, giving them guide lines on how to go about it. While doing this, the man eventually arrived in his black Toyota corolla. He parked right there on the road signifying to us to come to him. Supervisor: How long have you guys been here? Guy: Before 7 sir, I’ve been here since 10min to 7. Girl: Yes sir, we came together. Supervisor: And you? (Pointing to me) Me: I got here around 5min after 7 sir (After saying that, I discovered I might have put either myself or the others in trouble) Supervisor: So you met them here? Me: (I know it, trouble has come) they are likely going to be around maybe checking the notice boards when I came. Supervisor: You are trying to cover up for them right? Me: Sir, that’s . . . Supervisor: Anyway, you guys just had your first test with me. Guy, Girl, Me: Test? Supervisor: (Laughing) you’ve not being told? I give my marks from tests and not from your write ups. Because I’m sure you’ll write rubbish anyway. You (pointing to me) Me: Williams Albert, sir Supervisor: What? That’s your name? Me: Yes sir, Williams Opeyemi, Albert. Supervisor: Why bearing English names? Anyway, out of 20 you’ve scored 10 marks. Me: 10 marks sir? Supervisor: Yes. Out of the 20 marks, you have -5 marks for coming 5minutes late and -5 marks for trying to cover up for them. Me: Sir, but . . . Supervisor: Gbenusoun! (Shut up), you thought I’m just coming? (Pointing to students’ affair building) I could see everything clearly from there. I’ve been here there since the time I called you guy, so you two, your score? Zero out of 20. You better be at alert, you can never tell when your next test will be. Out of three tests (60 marks), you’ve done one. The remaining 40 marks will be from your write up and defence. He took my write up and correct it there, asked me to re-write it while he put on his system, inserted his modem and started surfing the net. I returned the write-up back to him, he checked and said “good, let’s do your Literature Review together”. While we were doing this, the other guys just stood there looking. Sighting them, he asked them to leave since they’ve nothing to tender. We were there together surfing, copying and pasting on his system. By the time his laptop battery went down, we looked and found a wall socket outside the offices and plugged the system. I wondered why he won’t let us into his office. We were done with my Literature review, typed my introductory chapter and methodology. He made sure all the necessary stuffs were written and then took me in his car to a printing shop where we printed the project. He signed right there and said “go and be preparing for your first defence and enjoy your weekend”, and he drove off. I couldn’t believe what just happened, after all I’ve heard about this man, he seem nice to me, though I don’t think other guys will say the same thing. |
., tnx
