I am interested in studying LAW but when my Jamb result came I scored 218 remaining two marks to meet up with its(UNILORIN) cut-off mark(u see how a person without connection is suffering). Last year, it was two marks(POST-JAMB:70 but I scored 68) that disqulified from getting admission. This is my 3rd time of choosing UNILORIN but to no avail. I'm tired please advise me because I'm hearing that they can rather offer me LINGUISTIC. Is Linguistic good and Lucrative in Nigeria? What is my chance of getting job? A person with full knowledge about LINGUISTIC is needed?

Family / Re: Kneeling Down To Greet Mother-in-law: Oddity Or Obeisance? by babymama3: 8:36pm On May 07, 2013
@ the poster,I would have thought that one marrying into a different culture would ask questions from the spouse regarding some cultures that are alien to them.
he is the best person to give you advise on what to do here and the type of mother he has so that if the old woman fusses at a future time that she is not being "worshipped" properly by her daughter in law ,you would have him on your side.
Most MIL's don't get along with their DIL anyway and coming from a different culture it will always be used against you when things don't go right
There is also this need for women married to other cultures to over compensate and over do things at the initial stages in their bid to be accepted, not a wise thing to do,it will come back to bite you when you decide to be real but if you can sustain it,good for you.i have heard of women that even kneel to sisters in law and husband's relatives younger than them just because they married into the family.
I will never do that.

My advice

As my mama advised me privately during my engagement ,she said " Ada m ,love and respect your husband and his people but whatever you know you cannot sustain in your marriage don't ever start it."
That is wisdom speaking
I hope to pass on that advise to my daughter
If I were married to a Yoruba culture,I would bow and greet the older folks as they do but will never kneel.
I don't kneel for my parents or to any man and sure will not kneel to any MIL.
Doesn't mean I don't love and respect them, some kneel and cuss them out under their breath grin grin but I guess the outward appearance of kneeling even when I can't stand you is more important.
That will be my method from day one so that those who like me will and those who don't will know that is my style.
So ask your husband what you should do to please his mother and if it something you can do,do it,if not,do it your way and they will just have to take you like you are.

Family / Re: Yet To Speak At 29 Months, Should I Be Worried? by babymama3: 8:04pm On May 07, 2013
Some posters already gave you some sound advise
Don't listen to anyone that says just relax,it is nothing,it probably is nothing but you need to be sure
If you have a feeling or unction that something is not quite right, you need to see someone.
Problems are better corrected at the onset not later

Besides speech, does the baby display undue anger and tantrums?
Are there any habits?
Does he socialize well with other kids
Does he make eye contact?
When you call him does he answer and walk towards you?
Does he imitate speech when you talk?

What type of doctor did you see and what tests did he perform?
Are you in Nigeria or Yankee?
This is critical
A doctor who is jack of all trade or one with no experience in child development issues will not help you much.

If this is your first born and the only problem is delayed speech and you are sure his hearing is right,it may not be unusual
My first child got me all worried too but is a very smart kid today

Ileobatojo talked about hearing, get his hearing checked by an ear specialist ,that is standard
You can follow up at home before then by standing behind him and call to see if he turns or answers.

Gosh
Now I feel like having a cute baby in my arms

Knowing how fierce the community is on this,he should have buried the serpent at the back of his house or carried it together with the garbage in his household and thrown it deep into the bushes or buried it there.

paul okoye is such a pathological liar and an irresponsible fellow. didn't he say the chic was an april fool joke?

As you dey so,will you allow a strange woman to pin a baby on you ?
Most modern and decent men would willingly call for a DNA test to prove their innocence and those really angered by this will follow up and sue for defamation if the test proves the woman to be a liar.
I think he is guilty

subnormal: Reading through most your comments, I get the feeling that most NLs will prefer the thread title to be 'python kills whole family in Anambra'. A snake is a wild animal, maybe some of you believe it won't hurt you, but others may not subscribe to that belief. When such 'unbelievers' encounter your god, they may not pay him homage as you wld cos to them, it's a dangerous animal.

And the same eediots commenting and condemning this man would ask where the father was when a snake killed his children

One doesn't have to be certified to make good food or good looking food. If one is passionate about something, then it can come out right. I guess I'll take that as a compliment.

Cooking isn't hard like some make it out to be. undecided

As for the particular pizza (with olives) in question, I made the dough and sauce. I don't make cheese, sausages, or have peppers and any other veggies in the garden as it's only May. The olives, green peppers, mushrooms, cheese, etc., were bought from the store and I placed them on my dough and sauce accordingly.

PS - ready made NEVER tastes better. I'd take my fresh ingredients over frozen or processed stuff any day, just that time doesn't always permit that.

camelus: In 1910,the Secretary of State for Colonies Lewis Harcourt presented to the British House of Commons, proposal to merge the Southern and Northern Protectorate, the aim was purely economical.
"The Protectorate of Northern Nigeria proved a relatively poor neighbour without direct access to the Sea with larger area and Population, with costly railway construction, tee Protectorate of northern Nigeria experienced seriously financial difficulties only slightly relieved by the annual grants in aid from the imperial treasury".
Despite Sir Ralph moore's protest who saw no reason why the riches of the South should be used to develop the North. Lugard's proposal for amalgamation was approved.1st January 1914,Nigeria came to being as the two protectorate were amalgamated.Lugard became its first Governor General.
Nigeria is the architect of a Military Fiat by Baron Lord Lugard also remember he gave Nigeria 100yrs expiring date.

This was where our problems started
Why we were punished in this manner and God allowed it is what I still don't understand.
why were the wise warnings of Sir Ralph Moore not heeded?
How did this evil machination enter into the hearts of Lord Lugard ?
Lord Lugard is now dead but the Problem he created is now without comparison

Think about it.

specialguest: I find it kind of hard saying 'RIP' to someone who commits suicide... The only thing i can say is 'why' would anyone want to take his own life? It cant be that bad, there's so much to look forward to in life. No matter the circumstance, i would rather be 6 feet above the ground than below it.

People kill themselves not because they want to do so but because of an illness called depression so condemning this young man if indeed he committed suicide is wrong
Let this story make you to watch out for signs of depression on loved ones and point them to help
Sometimes that help can come from a psychiatrist
We don't know what was going on in his head
We don't know the deep despair he was in
The saddest thing in this story should be that a young man in his prime was so tortured mentally and he received no help or maybe even had no one to trust or turn to and suicide became his only option.
may his soul RIP and may his parents and relatives be comforted.

I have been in a situation where someone cried out for help with dark poems and even talked about suicidal tendencies ,I wrote a word of encouragement but withheld myself from reaching out even though my first instinct was to give my phone number. My common sense kicked in and I didn't want to appear intrusive.
He is now dead .

It looks like most Igboland has this stupid custom about pythons being sacred
They have it in mine too
My great uncle was a hunter and sometimes caught pythons in his trap and ate them grin grin grin
And he lived to a ripe old age and passed away peacefully
If a python entered my father's or grandfather's compound,it is sure to get a double barrel gun on it's head and thrown into the bushes.
We are a Christian family and don't subscribe to any deities or gods and idols and have no ties to traditional beliefs
They should cage their gods or ask them to stay in the bushes where they belong
The moment they wander into the homes of non worshippers, they had better have disappearing powers or else

Krucifax:

There is something seriously wrong with your head. A man heard the screaming of his family, he went to investigate the cause and found a snake in their bedroom(not garden, not front yard, not car park, not roof)bedroom as in inside house!

Okay please tell us. Should he have interviewed the snake to know whether it is harmful or not? Or is he a qualified veterinary doctor to tell one specie from the other?

His only crime is to be living among backward lunatics like yourself. And to compare a snake and the holy bible shows your upbringing was an obvious disaster. Goat!

And that is a woman that claims to have kids o
I wonder what she would have done to see snakes beside her kids
Some eediots that post here don't even bother reading the post before commenting
That is what I have learned
They see a topic and post rubbish pulled out of their anuses and expect it to jive
If one has the patience to make a comment,he/she should take the trouble to read the preceding post or posts

Again, the issue of Nigeria and her governance took a centre stage yesterday, with the threat by a former member of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the Congress for Progressive Change, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu that 'it is either a Northerner as President in 2015 or there will be no more Nigeria.

I hope his dreams come true
It looks like the Boko haram they unleashed on the nation is not enough for them
Please Lord let a Northerner not win in 2015 so that there will be no more Nigeria in Jesus mighty name

Why they thought the American embassy would fall for this coooock and bull story beats me
I hope they have a comfortable home in Ikorodu and jobs to sustain them after a jail term in Njgeria

CFCfan: @baby mama: Your flight was indeed interesting. Did any of the traders utter this phrase "Babe'm I wulu make u my eggovin"

Hahaha
It was a vey interesting fight

I sat beside an Anambra state political aide one time and his humor was off the wall
It is always a blessing not to be stuck on those long flights with an annoying person
This time I got lucky
The man cracked jokes all through
He had a wife and children in Lagos but was busying himself with undergraduates in Nnewi
At some point in the fight,he brought out his chaplet and prayed
When he was done I asked how he could cheat on his wife and pray regularly too
He said my sister,I am trying but GOd is not helping me grin grin
I laughed so loud and asked how
He said if you see the pretty things in Nnewi, the type of girls there ,even your own husband will sample them taya
The specie of girls we have nowadays will make any saint to err
I said but oga,how about hell fire, what if Christ comes when you are sampling
His answer still cracks me up to this day
He said my sister ekwensu agba nu aka ahia grin grin grin
( devil will get customer na)
