babyme,
u r welcome,3 years ago iwas in abuja intern'l airport for safety trainning.abj has a setup that make me smile,u have the major city and the sub urbans, which means is either u r in or out.

well that is what is seems but not really, kay, central area, asokoro, maitama is mostly government houses so asokoro for senators and maitama for ministers(then some personal houses around),then gwarinpa is for the retired or people dat just finished their government tenure and want thier personal houses, wuse business men, this is the bulk of people located in this places but different people are spread round tho, no where is actually the poor part except maybe the outskirts because its not really inside FCT, so from my pespective its in or out FCT, but then out fct is like two areas, and ive never even tot of it as abj tho, okay its like schools, boarding skuls, polythenics and abj uni that are located there, smiley

okay am in college now but wen i come back to naija, abj, traffic is no that bad , i dont usually take okada but its easier now because theres like this thing called el rufai busses, theyre like big coaster busses that is so cheap, 20 naira to take u around anywhere in abj, there is one in every major junction so most people that take okada b4 dont really feel the loss,
i go back to nigeria like 3 tymes a year so i dont really feel like i live else where, we sold our house and mumsi is building a new house in gwarinpa too, but i think wen i go next week we would live in a flat, one of this 2 storey/floor flats, we all said we wanted to stay in nicon, popsi just pretended like he didnt hear, lol,

also how is it that the so called peace full and respectable leaders of this religion just keep their mouth shut to this, they must secretly admire these young and foolish executers of their religion, am sorry to compare here but if this was a Christian issue most pastors or well known preachers would come out in public to cnn or any media and rebuke the act!! but obviously the leaders of this perverted religion support the act of killion for GOD. . . . .i wonder how that sounds to thier ears

Not every Nigerian girl can do that now even, many famlies are more open minded now. Many educated Nigerian girls will see been humble as weakness hence wouldn't want to be seen going to the village to sit down in the firewood place and cook rice and pepper soup for his guest and family. Marriage who you fall inlove with.
quite alright we shuld marry hu we fall in love with, but unlike many people have defined marriage is NOT ALL about i fall inlove with you i marry you. . .hell if it was . .everyone would go about marry thier highschool sweetheart, why do u think celebrities and other american marriages dont last. .they dont think about the future, marriage is very serious thats why being responsible is neccesary for as a very long and hearty relationship. . .if u want a case where u just fall inlove and dont consider anything then just date cos marriage takes a lot of responsibility as well as love,
i know not every nigerian girl can do that but for a man to say i cant marry because ure not from my country . . theres is somthing about his country women he doesnt see in you . . .what i said earlier is mostly for nigerian guys

Romance / Re: Do Nigerians Always Marry Each Other? by babyme(f): 7:55am On Apr 28, 2010
ohmigod:

Well, as a white woman often attracted to black men (and some hot Nigerian ones) I am beginning to understand why it's hard to get close to them. I didn't realize I was being judged by the color of my skin and not by the content of my character. Some reading this might think it's about time the tables were reversed, but I can tell you I am not receptive to being punished for the sins of others. I am sincere in my intentions and attentions. But it is not the first time I have read that a Nigerian family would not be receptive to a Nigerian man bringing home a white woman as girlfriend or wife. Hard to know what to think about that. One experiences many things as one comes of age, and certainly I have felt the discrimination women sometimes feel in the workplace for being female. But to try to understand why someone would judge me based on my skin color or ethnicity, That will take some serious analysis. And I don't even know where to begin. No one ever disliked me for that reason. It's hard to grasp. But I will continue to read the forums on this site, and maybe it will help me figure it all out. Meanwhile, I am not going to stop admiring beautiful Nigerian men, they just seem to be everywhere,

ok to make this clear, the reason is not cause of your skin colour, if it was ,they would marry other black africans, but they hardley do,
what u have to understand is that in naija marriage is not just in out, we fall in love with attributes that can make both us and our family happy, divorce, seperation, its hardly done, especially in an igbo family,
i can tell u as an igbo gurl that an igbo man does not take his family for granted thats why for him to marry , he must find someone that respect his family and that deals with the annoyingly frequent family issues that comes his way, and lets be honest how many non nigerians have that strong womanly characters, can u sit down in the firewood place and cook rice and pepper soup for his guest and family in the village, would you take your children yearly for christmas in imo, benue, zaria, ogun, etc, if u can show all this characters am sure he would have no doubt in marrying u,

bellarose:

i am an american women and i am dating a nigerian man now who is from the igbo tribe ,, the funny thing about our relastionship is that he told me when we first met that he was going to marry someone from his village within the next year or so. He asked could i handle that and i agreed but now i dont quite feel the same ,, i feel like we american women have good qualities to. the funny part about it is that he was like he dont know if he will be able to stop messing with me once he is married

see the contrast the nigerian person he wants to marry wouldnt have agreed , thats the diffrence my friend btw the naija chick and the other girl,

Before opening this thread, i had exactly what was going to happen in my mind and i can say, i havent been disappointed at all.
To many Nigerians, any good news about the country,no matter how small has got to have some errors somewhere, afterall its nigeria.
This i think is a product of a thoroughly abused mind. i still think we should give ourselves credits where deserved and not fall victim to the 'nothing good can come out of nigeria' mentality.
There definitely is room for improvement, but to deny Nigeria her bragging rights?its just unfair.
The years of misrule and decadence has so much crept into people's minds that the only news they expect to read is bad news and naturally have a reaction of disbelief and even indignation when any cheering news comes up
Please lets disabuse our minds
We'll get there someday.

@the topic

the rating is irrational and unmathematical!what is the population of Nigeria?150million!then what is the ratio of

12.6 to 150?then find the ratio of other countries, then u will discover that Nigeria is much more far behind!lets not

celebrate mediocrity!how could u have beaten South Africa which is about one third of Nigeria's population and yet

have such figure?LETS THINK VERY WELL BEFORE WE MAKE OUR DEDUCTIONS.LETS NOT MISINFORMED THE PEOPLE
