bros forget,your knowledge of politics is limited and this is not an insult. In politics there is NOTHING like permanent friends just permanent INTERESTS. The obj of 2008 is not the obj of 2015,gone are those days when obj boys dominated the pdp exco ,gone are those days when obj boys constituted half of ministerial and ambassadorial slots,gone are those days when half of pdp govs were in obj kitty,gone are those days south west pdp holds crucial meetings in otta . Obj of 2015 in pdp is an isolated figure ,all his boys have either left the party or left him and moved over to gej camp. In nigerian politics you become irrelevant to ur boys once u can't guarantee them political appointments or juicy contracts. Gej has made his stand clear and loud on obj matter with his body language. Right now in pdp if you move close to obj u will be viewed as an enemy of the president, will u risk the wrath of the president just to be in obj good books ? Even lamido is just massaging obj ego,there is a limit and line he won't cross. all anti obj boys are getting things done within pdp and government circle ,obj knows that once gej is reelected he is totally totally finished. His only hope to remain relevant is for apc to win the presidency,because if pdp wins ,noone will even look at obj twice again in nigeria politics. No sensible politician that wants a political future will take sides with obj who is an ex president and who can't guarrantee him or her anything against a sitting president who has over 70% chance of staying in power for another 4years .

My broda, Nigeria politics is not a text book politics or something you learn from a handout. Also I think you might want to read my original post not the reply I dropped for someone else based on his concern.

Regardless of the political aisle you are standing the words "irrelevant" and "OBJ" are two words that shouldn't be in the same sentence in terms of Nigeria politics. OBJ is the baba of Nigeria politics, you might not agree with it, and actually you don't have to , that's just the way it is.

Also, I will like to point out your political miscalculations.

That some "OBJ's" gov decamped PDP and joined APC, politically speaking, whether they are friends or not, they are all in the same political aisle now. So still share the same political views as OBJ and hence a loss for PDP and GEJ, the few remaining in GEJs camp some their soul is out of PDP and there body is in PDP just to save face. Whether GEJ won the election or not, OBJ won't go down easily and GEJ can't make him irrelevant in Nigeria politics. OBJ is a well respected figure internationally while GEJ is now a caricature internationally even African leaders do look down on him.
Also, don't forget APC currently have majority in the House of rep, if they maintain the lead and grab few more seat in the senate, gaghan even if GEJ wins they could impeach him.

The summary of my original post was GEJ Engaged OBJ the wrong way, am kinda embarrassed by GEJs decisions , I don't know who his advisers are but they are very clueless. GEJ engaged OBJ like a political big dawg
While he is very clueless and dont have political heavyweights to back him up. The people in GEJs cabinet are all irrevelant to Nigeria politics, likes of Obanikoro ,FFK, Okupe, omokiri.do you remember Gov. Chris Ngige when he engaged Chris Uba in a wrong way, he was kidnapped yes funny but true, Ngige as at that time tried to rob shoulders with his godfather and they rubbished him.

My broda, all I am saying is GEJ started a fight he can't finish and does not have political heavyweights to back him up. If he wanted to engage him, he could have done so out of public eye, now he is fighting to redeem his image as a political tough guy by engaging OBJ in public and also the real issue between them.

This is GEJs worst political move, to " Engage OBJ in public " he should have ignored those open letters and other media jabs by OBJ by throwing a response like,

"OBJ is a well respected politician and just like every Nigerian he might not agree with some of our policies and he have every right to express his opinion, that's the Power of democracy " and quietly resolve their issues behind closed doors, but instead he put on his boxing gloves , GEJ cannot even tie OBJs political shoes.

Regardless of your political perspective OBJ is the number one politician in Nigeria, don't forget he is the longest serving president, he knows his way around Aso Rock, a lot of people in GEJs cabinet were his boys, GEJ included.

GEJ lacked the political firepower to challenge OBJ, remember what happened to James Ibori ( story for another day), Araraume ?
Currently there are no political heavy weight in PDP now, GEJs cabinet, Omokiri, Okupe, FFK, Obanikoro are all political nobody's in terms of Nigeria politics.
