Politics › Re: Train Shutdown: NRC Sympathises With Commuters, Says It Was Due To Construction by Badonasty(m): 8:59am On Oct 11, 2019 |
etrouble: The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Sunday said it sympathized with train commuters going through pains and difficulties due to the shutdown of daily operations of train services on the existing narrow gauge from Ijoko in Ogun to Ebute Meta-Apapa in Lagos.
Recall that the NRC suspended the daily operations of train services in the axis on Sept. 30. The suspension became necessary to fast track the completion of the new standard gauge, which required shifting of the existing narrow gauge and relaying it to accommodate the standard gauge rail line. The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, had on Sept. 23, announced November as the deadline for the trial services on the about-to-be- completed Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line. The Lagos District Manager of NRC, Mr. Jerry Oche, told NAN that the corporation was not unconcerned about the difficulties many commuters were going through since the shutdown, urging them to be patient.
Oche, who said that the shutdown would last till mid-November, disclosed that NRC management was working with the contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) to deliver the project as projected. “Words cannot express how I feel about what the commuters are going through.
Don’t forget, I always say that it is not much about how much we make, but the services we render to the majority of people. “We bring succour and alleviate the suffering of thousands of Lagos residents. Now that we have shut down, I know a lot of people are having difficulties. “But we are, however, working with the Chinese contractor to see that the project is fixed within the set time. We should achieve what we wanted to achieve within the set time,’’ Oche said. He said that the district was also using the period of the shutdown to look inward and fix a lot of things, including the state of coaches and others.
“We want to see what improvement we can bring in by the time we are resuming. I really want to appeal to our passengers, without them for me, we are not complete. “Whether we are moving a hundred tonnes of goods or not, it does not matter; I am already missing the interactions we have on a daily basis,’’ he said. The NRC boss, who noted that MTTS services remained the hope of many of the less privileged commuters, said that the new track, when completed, would also lower the accident rate.
Oche added: “The Chinese (contractor) has commended the removal of the narrow gauge and the whole idea is for them to shift the old narrow gauge and lay a new one. “This is not just about completing the standard gauge, it is also about ensuring that we have a better narrow gauge. “The project itself entails the removal of the existing narrow gauge incomplete shift to accommodate the standard gauge. “We are supposed to have two standard gauges and the narrow gauge beside it.
You will notice a new narrow gauge around Agege, Iju, and Agbado. “All this while, because we were still running train services, the contractor had not been able to work on this axis. “Now that the standard gauge itself has got to this axis, what is remaining is for them to work, do this part and then we will meet the minister’s directive of starting the trial of Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail operations.’’ He said that the standard gauge which had gotten to Iju from Ibadan needed to get to Apapa, which necessitated the stop of operations on narrow gauge, to lay the standard gauge.

So how about Coca Cola, Guinness, Budweiser spending millions if not billions of dollars on adverts world wide?

30 seconds advert on CNN should be from $5,000-$8,000 depends on the Prime Time..

However, to her utter surprise, instead of him to get upset, he replied her message by saying: "Say less."
As if that was not enough, the lady explained further that within a week of turning him down, the guy got a new girl, built his home and started a new business, all without getting in touch with her anymore.
In a different tweet, the lady explained that the experience was humbling. She said a lot of women have gotten used to taking guys for granted because of the amount of attention they get.

Ctorch: Ekesons Makes History with First Class Cabin in Road Buses
A unique niche has been created in the public transport sector by E Ekesons Bros Nigeria Limited with the introduction of a truly First Class travel experience on some of its fleet of buses.
The buses which are already on ground and offering services, are fitted with a segmented First Class section which provides personalized audio visual facility enabling each passenger to select and watch whatever he or she pleases throughout the duration of the journey.
Each passenger in the First Class segment of the bus is also entitled to exclusive power outlets that enable him or her to charge a laptop and a phone.
In order to enhance the First Class comfort, the First Class section of the bus offers more leg room, leather chairs, and an ambience that is not any lesser than what is provided in the air bus. Aside the air conditioning system for all passengers in the bus, there is also refrigerated drinks and an in-built toilet.
Managing Director of the company, Engr. Chijioke Ojukwu stated that the introduction of the service which is first of its kind in the country for public transportation is meant to add value to customer experience.
According to him, “we have done this in so many ways, apart from improving safety, we have also been able to add more comfort. Currently, as the company stands, we have been able to bring in the first of its kind VIP Executive to the coach section. “So we now have coaches that will give you VIP experience which in Ekeson we call it B-SWAG. B-SWAG is a product we coined to suit both the old and the young, it is a bus system that give you far more leg room and more space for those who would want to sleep and also an on-board multi-entertainment system just like you have on the aircraft for long distance travels where you select your movie on demand, your choice of music, your choice of books on each seat.
“It is so personalised, you would not want to miss having that experience.
It is the first ever to be on the coach system in Nigeria. Apart from this, there are still so much to enjoy, the refreshment, the meals on board, the cabin crew- both male and female, the cabin hostess are well trained and are equipped to make the travel very comfortable. People now travel in comfort and in style, when we say in comfort and style, we mean in true comfort and in true style”.
The Managing Director, who is a frontline COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) certified Engineer, added that the company’s growing number of customers are getting valuable services on all routes it plies.

Politics › Re: Why Did Nigeria Move Its Capital From Lagos To Abuja? by Badonasty(m): 9:35am On Oct 05, 2019 |
BizLifeE: okay let me give a different view from Kennedy’s cabal theory.
Lagos was congested and due to the nature of the terrain, it was difficult to expand and have the kind of infrastructure that was envisaged. Abuja in the center of the country has virtually limitless land for expansion. World class infrastructure has been built but has fallen into disrepair due to poor maintenance and planning culture.
Security was also a nightmare due to the congestion. There had been 2 assassinations of the President already and 4 changes of government in violent ways. It was believed that there was a need to have a better position for the seats of government. The seat of government in Abuja is in a wide expanse of land where movement around the whole city can be monitored. There has never been violent transfer of power since the capital moved in 1993.
Lagos was deeply entrenched in the heartland of one of the main ethnic groups in Nigeria and there was no chance it was going to loosen up. Contrary to the widely held belief in the South of Nigeria, Abuja is not Hausa land but the minority Gwari tribe. Igbo people from South of Nigeria are now the largest land holders in Abuja.
The 70s was a time of Black/African renaissance and the belief that the black man had a great manifest destiny was still alive. Abuja was therefore conceived of as a City that will be a showpiece and pride of the Black race.
If the cabal was all about regionalism and tribalism, Kaduna would have been the choice of the new Capital not Abuja.

Man102: BOMB!!! "We're all Biafrans!", Aisha Tells Buhari, DSS (Video)
By Wisdom Nwedene
The Convener of #Bringbackourgirls, Aisha Yusuf, has told the Department of State Security Services, DSS, and President Muhammadu Buhari that "we are all Biafrans", Igbere TV reports.
Yusuf was reacting over the arrest of a Nigerian Journalist, Mr. Chido Onumah by the department.
Onumah, a Nigerian journalist and rights activist who was arrested and detained by the Department of State Services on Sunday evening, revealed that he was arrested for wearing a T-shirt with the inscription: ‘We Are All Biafrans'.
Igbere TV had reported that Onumah, who was arrested by DSS operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja, was detained for hours.
Speaking over the arrest, Yusuf said what we have is Political DSS.
She noted that the Vice president of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was present during the time the journalist launched a book entitled "We Are All Biafrans".
She revealed that she is a Biafran too and the DSS can never shut her down to stop talking about President Muhammadu Buhari’s that has failed in all ramifications.
"DSS picked Chudo Onumah at the airport apparently because he was wearing a t-shirt that says "We Are All Biafrans".
"Are we not all Biafrans? Are we not refuges right now in our country? So, DSS that is supposed to be an intelligent gathering organization, protecting Nigeria, picks up a man, wearing a t-shirt that says we are all Biafrans, a man who wrote a book with the same title that the vice president was at the book launch. For what? Is it this same DSS that we rely on to gather information? Is it this the same DSS that we rely on to arrest Boko Haram leader, Shekau?".
She further lambasted the DSS and claimed that with the way they are going, they won't be able to curb the insecurity in the country.
She add that everyone is a Biafran including her.
" In case you don't know, my name is Aisha Yusuf, I am a Biafran, we are all Biafrans. We are not living in our country, we are merely surviving and we deserve better"

ElRapido: The level of self-esteem is variable throughout life; that is, the level of self-confidence and the value we attribute to ourselves is not defined in the metaphor of a straight line. Self-esteem is one of the essential ingredients of our personal development and emotional well-being. For this reason, it is crucial to listen to those symptoms that indicate that we do not love each other as much as we deserve.
Through self-esteem, you become aware of the critical relationship you maintain with yourself since this relationship is the pillar of your bond with others, for this reason, in this article we are going to discover what are the characteristics of people with low self-esteem so that you learn to recognize them and analyze yourself.
They are indecisive, have difficulty making decisions, have an exaggerated fear of making mistakes. They only make a decision when they are utterly sure of obtaining 100% results.
They think that they can't, that they don't know anything, that they won't get it.
They don't value themselves, their talents, or their possibilities. They see their small skills, while those of others see them as large and even exaggerated.
They are afraid of what is new and avoid risks.
They are very anxious and nervous, which leads them to avoid situations that give them anguish and fear.
They are very passive; they avoid taking the initiative.
They are isolated, shy, and have almost no friends or very few.
They do not like to share their feelings with other people.
They avoid participating in the activities that are carried out in their center of study or work.
They are afraid to talk to other people about any topic; they feel continuously evaluated.
They depend a lot on other people to do their tasks or perform any activity.
They give up before doing or starting any activity.
They are not satisfied with themselves, and they think they are not doing anything right.
They don't know their emotions, so they can't express them.

As showed in the celebrations at the team's hotel in London where Gnabry is given a standing ovation as he enters the room.
He looks sheepish as he goes to sit down next to team-mate David Alaba, who is poking fun at how shy Gnabry is in front of fellow players, board members and supporters.
Gnabry was told to be the last person to enter the room so he could be given the standing ovation by everyone inside the hall.
For a player who is extroverted and confident on the pitch and on Instagram, he appeared to be overcome with nerves walking in solo.
Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge led the cheers for the former Arsenal youngster as photographers swarmed around the matchwinner.
