In 2011 with Engr.(Dr) Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as the PDP's governorship candidate in Kano State, Buhari as the Precedential candidate of CPC got 1,624,543 votes to defeat the candidate of Kwankwaso's party (Goodluck Jonathan) who only got 440,666 votes.
In 2015 when Kwankwaso teamed with Buhari in the APC, APC polled a total of 1,903,999 votes to defeat the PDP CANDIDATE WHO IS NOW IN APC who polled 215,779 votes.
In essence Kwankwaso only brought 279,456 or 14.67% of the Kano state votes to the table.

In considering their bail, Justice Nyako ordered the defendants to deposit monetary sum of N10 million each with the Chief Registrar of the court.
She added that the defendants are not allowed to travel outside the country, that they are to deposit their travelling documents at the court as well.
The judge ordered that they were not to be seen in any gathering at any time or granting journalists interviews or any type of interviews.
“No welcome `oyoyo’ gathering.If you do that, you will be sent back to prison. Go home, be with your family, come to court. The trial has commenced,” Mrs Nyako said.
At the prayer of the defence counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the judge ordered the defendants to report to the Commissioner of Police at their locality every two weeks, instead of Abuja.
She ordered the first defendant, Mr Chimezie to report to the Commissioner of Police, Rivers.
Mrs Nyako also ordered the second defendant, Mr Onwudiwe and the fourth, Mr Nwawuisdi, to both report to the Commissioner of Police, Enugu state.
