FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Thinks I Spend Too Much by Baldwretch: 10:56pm On Nov 19, 2019
wired4comfort:
I need a neutral person's opinion on this.
I spend between 30-35k every other month on food and other consumables. my husband thinks it's too much because it's just the two of us.
Do you think it's too much?
pls offer tips on how to spend less.
thanks
Your username though, haha. I don't think 30-35k is too much. I spend close to that in a month. I mean, that's just 1k a day.

Don't argue with him, ask him to get the foodstuff and consumables himself.

I understand. At the end of the day.fresh fruit juice is not for everyone. Some people appreciate it's benefits but cannot afford it so they make do with the N100 sodas instead. Some can afford it but don't really care so much about it's health benefits so they also go ahead and buy the N100 sodas. Some cannot afford it and and also don't care for it's health benefits.I'm quite certain that you belong to one of these 3 groups of people.I wish you the best of luck anyway.
Lol, guy you are one funny fellow who makes so many valid assumptions but failed terribly this time, lmao!!!!

Just to give you a hint: I would rather drink Nono (raw cow milk) sold by those Fulani women than Peak, Cowbell or other packaged milk. I like it natural and could kill to have it that way. Again, I don't drink Coke, Fanta and those soft drink, not just because they don't go well with me or they don't contain natural sweeteners, but other reasons; I'd rather take kunu zaki or aya haha.

I would take your drink for 1000 naira seriously before I even consider 50 naira soda lmao, so it's far fro what you think

Work on the packaging. Don't you see the makers of Nutrimilk and co? Do you suppose we would assume that they were made by broke dudes who are trying to get by, by working in unhygienic and un-sanitized environment? Does that packaging show any class?

You'd win many more customers who are particularly about many things seriously. Lmao, it is well sha. Every man for himself, God for us all.

FamilyRe: How Was Your First Year Of Marriage? by Baldwretch: 12:59pm On Nov 19, 2019
baldman:
I remember reading this thread during those years when I was to waiting to get married. So it is give back time. The first year of our marriage was a joyful one and full of blessings too. We went on honeymoon (Dubai) came back and I was able to buy a car for my wife. I also got assigned to a more favourable role at work. We conceived after exactly a month and we had sex almost every day of the pregnancy, until she had to travel to have the baby and we resumed as soon as I was able to join them up till the day before the baby was delivered. We were celibate until the wedding so this was so fulfilling. God blessed us with a bouncing baby boy and we have been back to love making since 13weeks after the baby. Our relationship has gotten better, we communicate well and neither of us has difficulty saying sorry. I do not want my wife to get mad and she avoids getting me mad too. To someone else, my wife may be such an incompetent wife and to another woman, I may be too finicky for a man but we have been ok with each other. She is fast settling down to the wife role and we are completely opened to each other about everything. God indeed answers prayers. I thank God I did not make the mistake of letting her go and I am trusting God to continue to help us.
my

Congratulations boss. grin grin grin grin

Sometimes back you put an ad for a wife (checked your profile) and I just want to ask; did you meet your wife in real life or through that Nairaland.com ad on your profile or through some other place online haha?

Thanks for your feedback but at the moment,it would interest you that we sell an average of 200 bottles per day.Yesterday we sold over 200 bottles and put money in the pockets of the few marketers that we currently have ( who are doing a great job by the way ).Speaking of packaging,I can't help but wonder what upgrade you expect from us.The bottle is handy and looks great. The print job is also not bad at all my friend. We sell FRESH FRUIT JUICE squeezed directly from the fruit with nothing else added and you say it's a bad joke for N600? do you know how much fruits cost these days?? anyway i am certain that when you taste it's contents, you'll not just cough out N600 but a lot more.

I used to buy for N1000 a bottle from a major fast food chain here on the island and it has no labels.Just a plain bottle and I can categorically tell you that it's not pure fruit juice. We just closed the deal with them and will replace their last supplier this week.I don't think we are doing badly but again, thanks for your feedback.
Thanks for your constructive reply, haha.

I really know little about this your business sha and I don't know it has this broad appeal to the public. My Father once bought pure, squeezed Orange juice from Shoprite and that's somethig I will not forget sha.

Although, yes, fruits is very expensive especially in Lagos and while I don't know much about this your squeezed fruit juice, I will not buy it if a marketer comes to me with that packaging and price.

N600/bottle.N500 goes to us and N100 goes to the marketer.50 bottles per day translates to N5,000 per day.
This looks like a bad joke for 600 Naira.

The packaging sef is enough reasons to put off prospective buyers from coughing 600 Naira for this product.

Anyone who would take this offer go waka so tey your leg go blister and you may not realize 500.

If you make it 300 sef, I doubt patronage would be encouraging. Please re-strategize. I'm not trying to discourage you.

Lmao. The exterior is what people see, what they perceive you to be, but the interior is what you actually are, how people really see you especially from very, very close proximity lol. If you see a taxi driver in, say, Jalingo, Sokoto, Benin City, etc, etc, I don't think it is unreasonable to assume that he has no university certificate; you'd have to come a lot closer to get a better understanding of who he is. May your tears come from laughter sis. It is well.

FrLukas:
That is your own point of view.

There are many responsible gentlemen out there who won't mind marrying a single mother.
Thank you for airing your point of view too haha. Yes there are responsible men out there who don't mind but it's a lot of work for both her and the men, who may be interested in her. I mean, responsible men would have to come a whole lot closer and would be asking too personal questions. Not many responsible men would do that. You seem to be oblivious to the fact that men still woo women anywhere. In the bus. In the mall. Just walking down the street. From a distance, no one really cares if she has learnt her lessons, or as she puts it "Once bitten, twice shy." Humans re not mind and chemistry-readers. You have probably passed by your "type" many times as regards women, but you didn't even care o say hi because you cannot read mind or people's private lives. What kind of fragrance is a single mother with her kid exuding? What kind of impression does it pass from afar?

It's this: I am married. Or, I am irresponsible. It depends on whether you assume the best or worst about people. The default state is I'm married. Why would you want to go into small, small talk with a married woman? Again, I am not in any way telling her to lie to potential suitors. That would be grossly unfair. Your partner deserves to know the terrible past you've had and to access whether he's in or out. As regards suitors, I am of the draw-them-all and get very, very blunt crowd.

FrLukas:
I for one would prefer a lady who is a single mother of one to a lady who has aborted before. And there are many like me out there also.

Hiding your child away somewhere because you want to get married shows that you are not honest. On the contrary, if I see you have a child and I see that you take care of the child well, then I have a preview of the fact that you are responsible despite the child out of wedlock and also, I can gauge your level of commitment and how you will take care of our own kids.
I also prefer a lady who is a single mother of one to a lady who has aborted before, but again, the bolded is clearly what I am talking about. Are you going to assume that the woman, with her child, while you fellows boarded that bus is a single mother? The child was born out of wedlock? Don't you see how her prospects is pretty slim? Do you expect her to start a story of her woes when any male remotely asks about the baby's father? She still wants to be private about it since it's not everybody's business but how does privacy com into the equation if she's always talking about it?

FrLukas:
It takes a mature guy to handle this and I am sure what the OP is looking for is a matured guy, not some small kid who is yet to take care of himself.
You talk as if matured people do not have deal breakers and having deal breaker is a bad thing. No, on the contrary, it is not.

FrLukas:
If she hides the kid and she dates you, when she finally tells you she has a kid you will run away and that is the truth. You will hide under the excuse that she lied to you.
Humans are different bro. You can only speak for yourself, lol. If I know she has a kid, I'll very likely not approach her but if I did approach her and know the kind of person she is, then I will most likely stay. Character. Love. Behaviour and more can keep people despite having it bad. If the exterior is bd, since I am human, I'll assume the interior is too but if I am made to believe that the exterior is good, I will assume that the interior is too but if I dind out that the interior is good despite finding out later on that the exterior is bad, then i will likely stay since the interior is all that matters to me.

The interior and exterior matter to some but not all people. Haven't you sen marriages that survived despite a somewhat catastrophic bad odds?

LadyBeee, let me advice you. Since getting a husband is not advanced calculus, keep the child with your mom for another 6 to 12 month and see what happens. When someone approaches you, give it like a week or two, gauge his interest and go for it. He deserves to know that you birth before, but he also deserves to know the kind of person you are beyond the surface that single motherhood portrays you to be. It is well.

just my opinion.
RomanceI Need Accomodation In Jalingo. by Baldwretch(op): 2:21pm On Nov 04, 2019
I am hurting for money right now.

I hate face-me-I-face you house with passion. I cannot stand sharing toilet. I don't do well water (ruwan rigiwa) lmao.

I am a graduate who just decided to stay behind after service. I speak Hausa pretty well.

Would anyone here be so kind as to lease or allow me stay with them? I actually budgeted 40k for a self contain but the self-contain I priced along Donga road today is quite pricey - I can't afford it. Other one-room apartments are quite cheap (30k, 25k) but I would rather go back to my papa house than stay there lmao.

Both you and your mum are a little bit selfish. (Sorry to say).
You, you are more interested in getting married than the future of that smallie. Mummy on the other hand is using marriage as an excuse to have her grand child by her side 24/7.
Go and bring that girl back to the city.
Forget about getting married. If it comes for you, fine. But if it doesn't, no big deal. Just find happiness in your baby.

That babe doesn't deserve to grow up in the village. She needs to stay in the city and get exposed.
As she grows up, she'll get to learn many things from the hundreds of opportunities that abound in Lagos.
But you should be very careful with her. Lagos life is both good and bad. If she grows up in a bad environment, you'll not like what she'll become.
Handle her well and you'll be glad you had her.
But whatever it is, pull her out of that village.

All the best.
This is actually very insensitive. She should forget bout marriage because someone put her in the family way before wedlock?

Nah, you should think your words a second time before writing them.

I always go against the grain in many aspect of discussons so let me advocate for the OP a bit and criticize her a bit. I hope she reads this.

The truth is, many and I mean many potential suitors who see her and her kid would subconsciously assume she's married, so in a sense, her state is driving potential suitors away. At the mall. In the market. Her customers. Would you woo a damsel you met on the street who's with her kid? No, you would not, and only flingers would. Let' tell ourselves the truth. Single mothers have a somewhat slimmer chance of getting a mate. It's real. It's hard. We shouldn't be oblivious to it.

On the other hand, she should tell men who she senses may be interested in her about her mistake before it gets serious. That's the turning point of her actions to me. She didn't really do bad (save for child's exposure) keeping child in her mother's place in the village.

Let me give you one example: There's a single mother in the church I worshiped while I lived in the SW some months ago. This woman gave me signal like kilode, hmm, but she has a child; she breastfeeds in my presence. She's very okay and I would be willing to settle down with her if providence permits, but she has a child. Fullstop.

On the other hand, if I was oblivious to the fact that she has a child before the relationship gained momentum, I would be incredibly hard-pressed to call it quit because she has a child. I just would never do it. You may call me a bad person but that's my cup of tea, haha, we are different. Who cares the worth of your home's interior when the exterior looks like a garbage dump. You get my point.
