It is ridiculous that you always blame cultural flaws and bad value system on poverty! Shame!

Omokri, I read your nonsense article and I almost puked. It was filled with stereotypical bullshit. Do you actually think the mentality of an unrefined Brit is different from that of a Nigerian? Nonsense! They have leaders and leadership has been critical in shaping the direction of the society. In Britain food is everywhere. Why should eating chicken be a big issue for the average Nigerian in this century? We do not even make enough birds to feed our population. if I do not get that drink at your wedding, I can work and buy one for myself easily, why then should I fight over it.

Lies.

You probably attended the arrangee marriage of your brother in Peckham and you think all British wedding ceremonies are done the same way. When you attend a proper British Wedding ceremony you can comment. A traditional ceremony in Britain is very formal with boring speeches from the beginning till the end of the ceremony. We don't have time for that as Africans, we eat, drink and dance all through the ceremony. Ours is a carnival.

1. Thatcher's case does not even have any bearing on our discussion because Thatcher is just one case. I just replied her because I wanted to show her her short sightedness. I refered to a mindset and practice that spans more than half the entire country and is something that we do, not just to politicians but even to our family members. We eat, drink and dance in burial ceremonies of even our family and friends. It has no connection with the thatcher story.

2. The Britons as a people dont do that in their burial ceremonies. The point is simple enough, I dont need to stretch it. The argument is baseless

Why does Thatcher's case not have any bearing here? In Western Societies built on freedom of choice, it is not uncommon to see people being unsympathetic over ones death. It is their choice, there is nothing you can do about it.

The case of funerals is a cultural thing. Our funerals are like carnivals, more of a celebration of life. When my Grand Pa died, I had to do a traditional dance with a sword. Does that mean I had no sympathy over his death? Will the British people dance when one dies? I do agree that some people fight over food and drinks at such celebrations which can be linked to poverty. When people do not know where the next meal will come from, they see such celebrations as a place to get filled. The British ceremonies from Weddings to Funerals are very formal celebrations and you do not expect the type of fanfare we see in our own to be in theirs.

What? shocked Where did you get that from? You are a real clown!!!

Some people who dont like Margaret Thatcher are now the Britons? You no dey disappoint!!!

Mr, there were loads and loads of people who had no sympathy for Tatcher in death. Those who felt excluded by her policies, most especially in the north of England, Yorkshire and the Liverpool areas where the mine workers resided. As can be seen from Tatcher's case, such lack of sympathy is inherent when people feel excluded in a society. It is basic in public policy.

In the case of Nigeria where majority have been excluded by leadership, such traits will surely exist. How do you sincerely expect majority of people who cannot afford air travel to sympathise with victims of an air accident who they see as their oppressors. The joke is on you Omokri!

Godman_n: My summary is that that man should just pack his package and head back to his village. I cannot even tolerating such an unlearned mind teaching secondary school students let alone ruling Nigeria.

I don't blame GEJ alone; I blame all the people that have interacted with this man before and went ahead help him to become our President. Obasanjo; that devil re-incarnate should take majority of the blame.

All the elites in Nigeria especially those that were blinded by opportunism and tribalism in helping this man to power deserve to be punished for misleading the ignorant masses that voted to him.

The Church "Cabals" who used Religion to destroy Buhari's change and impose GEJ on us will be judged at the last day.

As for the masses; a lot of Nigerians are still backward and unlearned. If enough of us are learned; we would have seen enough to vote him out by 2015.

Even this morning, some supposed graduates of Nigerian university were arguing with me that GEj was right in calling Adolf Hitler Adolpus.

How do we expect a generation that does not know Adolf Hitler to understand the issues that caused 2nd world war; how do we expect them top appreciate international politics and economy? How do we expect them to understand the relation between us Africans and the west?

How do we expect them to appreciate why we need to change.

It is a pity I am born in Nigeria on this time. I sincerly hope, more of our people can see the light: can be educated.

Can't you people figure out that the only babe that asked reasonable question among the panel was educated outside the country.

We are a product of sick school, sick institutions and sick society. I am afraid we will remain sick until the few that is educated is able to do something extra-ordinary.

MAY GOD HELP US

Thank you very much. The bolded is to show you how devilish leaders in Nigeria are. What good leaders do is to look for capable hands to take over- succession planning. What Olusegun Obasanjo did was to look for those he thought will be his stooge (oh yes members) once he leaves. He thus put horrible leaders to take the baton for his own selfish reasons. He is a pathetic and greedy human being.

Unfortunately for him the Jona he thought was going to be an 'oh yes man' has decided to free himself. Reason why you have the so-called crisis today.

manmade: People like you always take delight in misleading young ones simply because you were misled when you had the Opportunity of making the right choice, now tell me to the hearing of the whole world what benefits the supposed good orators you and the past generations had been voting for have done this Country other than to be sugar talked and given empty promises, was Moses of Biblical period a good orator ? Did that stop God from using him to liberate the Israelite? Gej was chosen by God to reform this Country even a blind man could easily discerns this,I wouldn't bother to ask you what position of Leadership your supposed/acclaimed good Oratory has gotten you to in life because as @ today I'm c ock sure you aren't greater than Gej.

Unfortunately for you, you are living in the stone age. This is the 21st century where we emphasise communication as one of the qualities of a good leader. To compete as an organisation and as a country in this century, you need leaders with sound communication skills as you will very often have to communicate policy and strategy to both internal and external stakeholders. You cannot escape it! Reason why most organisations look at this trait when searching for future leaders. It should be the same when searching for a leader of the most powerful black nation on earth else we are seen as unserious people.

Now Goodluck Jonathan is a PhD, yet he gets his basic tenses wrong. How pathetic! Now I can even excuse that, however, how is it possible that a PhD does not know how to answer questions. Listen here, a doctorate is about seeking answers to questions. It's about developing a questioning attitude. It is about asking why do I have a situation, tasks to resolve, accomplishment and results. If he can organise his thoughts that way, he will be fine. However all I see is a man rambling on TV. You find it difficult to link one sentence with the next.

Sincere 9gerian: Some mischief makers are only chasing shadows. The President does not need to speak like Obama to get the JOB DONE. Some of his predecessors, including the Great Zik, were powerful speakers but how did that change Nigeria? Nigeria does not need motivational speaker as president. What we need is an educated, focused, creative, firm, sincere and hardworking president who will GET THE JOB DONE.

These same elements talking of inspiring speeches were in 2011 trying to force Buhari down our throat. Is Buhari a better speaker than GEJ? Haters are perpetually looking for reasons to HATE.

This man here is only trying to earn his wage and do not expect any better from him. He has tried relegating communication to justify his wage and so I can understand him. I can also understand why he failed as a Doctor.

However, you need to be wary of deceitful elements like him only focused on their earnings. I say this because I understand there are a lot of young people here aspiring to be leaders, professionals and academics. Communication is very important in leadership. It is not even about "speaking like Obama'. It is about organising your thoughts and letting your thoughts out. All I see in a GEJ 'PhD' is a man rambling away when he speaks.

If you are lacking today and you dream of being a leader, a professional and an academic, start getting prepared today. Join groups, societies, volunteer to make presentations to friends. These things will help you grow into being a true leader and not "a kindergaten leader".

The man is a joke and like I say, the sooner you all do away with him the better for your country Nigeria.

When you have a leader in the 21st century with difficulties in basic communication, such a leader cannot lead you to change. Communicating is a skill, it is an important attribute of a leader, a PhD and a professional. It takes organising your thoughts, letting your thoughts out, receiving feedback, processing feedback in your thoughts and letting it out again. Goodluck Jonathan 'earned a PhD' but lacks the basic attributes of a PhD. Yet he still thinks ASUU's demands are outrageous. The joke is on him.

Godspikin: This is not fiction, it is a common occurence in Lagos. I remember my experience with these thieves called police at Allen junction in 2010. I was just coming out of a bank, skye bank precisely, then this young man approached me and asked me to identify myself, I had no I.d card on me but because I had noticed he was aware I had some money on me, I actually had just withdrawn #20,000, so I said y shuld I do that, he said he is a police officer and I was under arrest. I was boiling inside but had to take it cool, he asked me and my friend who had gone with me, cos we were actually going, tobuy a suit to come over to their Vehicle which he called Area sumtin, I folowed him, he searched us and found money on me, he then searched ma fone and found some emails and a draft message I had planned to send to the governor of my state protesting his non payment of bursaries, the police man lauhed, hysterivally and said this is treason... I was mad.... Ba3 low....

Cool story bro, cool story. You care to tell it again?

You see the government is a joke as this government has a flawed communication strategy. It's communication strategy is all about propaganda and not trying to "paint Jona black" whilst it relegate citizens engagement which is important in a democratic society.

How exactly do you feel reading in the papers that 160 of your citizens died without an official position from the government? What it does is to create more panic as the citizens have no clear understanding of what is going on.

I will give you an example. Historically, it was thought that when there are signs of a ship sinking, it was appropriate not to let the passengers know. However, what we understand today is the passengers will eventually know and when these passengers know, it creates more confusion on the ship as they may even get the wrong information. Today we emphasise on providing information and communicating on ships and prepare them for evacuation if the situation worsens. Transparency and communication.

Bring that to our lives here. Why do we not know exactly what is going on? Why are our citizens dying and no one seems to be telling us anything? Who is responsible for providing us with this information and who has been concealing this information?

The ideal thing should be tell us what is going on, what you are doing to stop it and tell us how to get involved to bring the situation to an end. Communication and transparency are important principles of governance. This should not necessarily come from the Presidency but the Ministry of Information, NTA and FRCN. Engage is the right strategy.

If you see the way the Kenyan defence forces, their Police, interior ministry were engaging their citizens on twitter during the siege. It becomes right to ask questions about our own leaders.

My Friend I am not about to lecture you on journalism however let me point out to you that it is essentially about delivering news of tommorrow, today... not news of three years ago. At no point did she ask him as you are asking me about 160 lives claimed in a week. If she had asked the President what action he intends to take regarding the 160 lives claimed this week...then its a current and specific question and that is a totally DIFFERENT question FROM "what do you intend to do about Boko Haram" And if you do not recognise the difference then you probably need to go back to the same primary scool as the Reporter.

Who cares about what you learnt from Maku's school of mediocre journalism? She asked important questions, that is the issue.

The news we have today is Boko Haram is still running riot all over the North East with hundreds dying weekly. It becomes important to ask what is being done about the situation. Update us, what is happening at the moment. How is it a wrong question for a journalist to ask? It is a problem if you are graduate of Labaran Maku's school of mediocre journalism.

I am sorry to say but she was a mess. I don't think the President was stammering I think he was shocked at such nonsense coming out of the Reporters mouth. Her questions were at least three years old minimum. So for you to call it an "interview on the move" remember she went to war nobody forced her and you don't go to war with no arms. She is rubbish even unprofessionally arguing with the aides at the end. She needs to go back to primary school immediately. Who gave her a visa by the way ?

You call asking a question about an insurgency that claimed over 160 lives of your citizens in a week nonsense? You call asking a question about respecting Federalism and revenue sharing in line with the law nonsense?

You must be nonsense yourself to think those questions are irrelevant.

Spot on.

I am also not a fan. You really do not need to be an orator to be a good president, you just need to work hard. You definitely must not be using abusive words against Nigeria's elected President. That is really a bad habit. The person who did that should apologize.

You know why I pity you people, it is simply because you are living like fools. In this world we live in, the ability to communicate and speak effectively is a very important attribute of a leader. As a PhD, as a professional, your ability to communicate is also very important.

How come Jona, a PhD finds it difficult to communicate effectively? Did he not earn his PhD?

Our President gives us big reasons on why we need deep reforms in Nigeria's education system. If a PhD cannot communicate effectively, then something is wrong.

If you were intelligent enough, you will know how important the questions she asked were. Sadly the President did not give enough answers. One can however argue that he was on the move and could not let a lot out.

Sahara on top again. The man tried in this one, you can argue he did not want to let a lot out.

However, watching him talk after the meeting with the US President makes me want to puke and asks does the man not organise his thoughts when he speaks?

Someone needs to tell him there is nothing wrong in pausing for a few seconds with an "errrmm" when speaking, organise your thoughts and speak. What I saw was "the man just dey yarn", shaking and sweating even in cold America. Calm down, take a chill pill, Obama will not whip you, he is just human like you.

Secondly, he needs to stop wearing that hat as there is nothing African about it and makes him look like a clown. That style was probably copied by our wannabe white men forefathers during slavery and colonialism. Today in contemporary Western societies, you do not see such hats in serious gatherings. Why is ours different?

You see the situation in Kenya now is that not up to 100 people have been killed. In one week in Nigeria, we have lost close to 200 people.

Have you seen the Kenyan President voice over our situation? No because he has his own mess to deal with.

President Jonadunce has not even spoken about the killings in Nigeria in the last week yet he deems it fit to put his mouth in Kenya's palava. This is a joke of a leader.

The Kenyan President right now has cancelled his trip to the UN general assembly because he recognises there is a problem. Yet President Jonadunce who lost close to 200 of his citizens is on his way with over 600 people to drink Jack Daniels in New York city.

The man is a joke and the best thing you all will do is to get rid of him. He has no qualities of a leader.

The message in El-Rufai's piece is clear. If you have a problem with an individual, sort it out. Stop using CAN to blackmail and chop nkwobi in Aso Rock. Stop posing as the "leader of Christians" to blackmail. Speak for yourself, you do not represent me and many others as Nigerian Christians. How is that difficult for Orisha to understand.

The man Orisha is a disgrace to anything called Christian leadership. He is a thug and is not to be taken serious. Meekness is Christian leadership behaviour, can we say same about Orisha who threatens and issues war ultimatums? If this man had not seen the avenue to dupe the gullible of their hard earned money via Christianity, he would probably have been kidnapping for ransom today.

Reason why the Catholic Bishops pulled out of Orisha's fraud, they have refused to be drawn into the mess CAN has become today. The Catholic Bishops are intellectuals, some are PhDs and Professors. A J V Obina for example was a lecturer and Chaplain for years at Alvan Ikoku College of Education.

What is Orisha's background? It is a criminal background and he is struggling real hard to leave it behind.

That a man like Orisha is the President of CAN today is truly END TIME THINGS as they say.
