This is Bullsh*t!!!, I am a Christian and I do not support the Apartheid and oppression of the Palestinians by the Jews!. These same people were scattered all over Europe, almost wiped out by Nazi Germany and the world took pity on them. For those Nigerian Christians supporting the atrocities of Israel because of religion or the bible, know that the Jews HATE CHRISTIANS and BLACKS too!!! Furthermore, those people saying that Israelis are 'God's own people' should know that Israel has one of the largest gay people worldwide and it is legalized there!!! In fact, they hold one of the largest gay pride marches annually. So what is the difference between the present Israel and Sodom and Gommorah?. The Palestinians also have Christian people also, all humans are God's creation irrespective of origin. We all should stop supporting brutality because of the writings of a heavily edited book (The Bible).
Family / Re: I Don't Want My Son To Bear My Surname. Could This Be Possible? by bamdexfarms(m): 7:00pm On Jul 26, 2023
My first name is a native name, my surname is English. I can not even explain the level of stress I pass through in Europe regarding my surname, because they find it hard to believe that my surname is English while my own name is native. Most times they assume that my names are surname/first name are swapped by error. I always have to reconfirm that the English name is my actual surname. I wont want my children to pass through this stress, therefore they will bear my name as their surname.

is it that it is not valued in Nigeria, because most people usually say it does not matter

No, it is not valued in Nigeria except for few that studied engineering or IT courses. Also, only few countries in the world recognize HND or even equate it to BSc. Here in Germany, it is seen as a craftsmanship or apprentice qualification and can only be used to gain admission into a Bachelors degree program. Bsc is Bsc worldwide.

Attending a Polytechnic instead of a University. After my OND, I had a fantastic job offer in a reputable company with chances of career growth. I gained admission for my HND a month later and I resigned from the job because of HNDcry. I only realized what dichotomy meant after graduation. I had to restart my education as a 100 level student at a foreign university and will be graduating this year in my early 30s. Polytechnics/HND should be scrapped.

Good luck getting a German student visa from West African countries. OP should do express entry - PR is guaranteed, no need to learn any language and the world's biggest consumer goods market is in her backyard. TheUnsure, your best bet is EE in Canada. Don't allow anyone to deceive you with Germany when obtaining a German student visa from Nigeria to Gambia is horrendously difficult.

That you have difficulty in getting a German visa does not mean it applies to everyone! Stop discouraging people because you could not get a visa(most likely because of your grade in the university). Also, I stated that she could also get a job directly from Nigeria to Germany too! Finally, please refrain from using the word deceive in this discussion, as I only advised her based on the knowledge I have about Germany because I live here. Such words do discourage people from making valid contributions to similar topics in the future.

Who knows if the coffee variety they will produce might be better than the Asian's? Let us learn how to research. Yes, I have family in one of those countries (free accommodation during study) but they give only one year post study visa and there is also the language barrier. Not particularly attractive to me.
.

I do not know the country your relations reside. But I will tell you a few facts about Germany because I live and study here.
1. You do not pay tuition fees and the hostel accommodation is rock-bottom cheap.
2. The university offers German language classes alongside your studies. So if you take these language classes seriously, you will most
likely speak the language before you graduate.
3. Student jobs are easy to get here, especially if you study in big cities.
4. The post-study work visa is 18 months and your chances of getting a well-paid job are high, provided that you can learn the language
before you graduate. You don't need any kind of sponsorship from your employer.
5. Your student years are counted towards your naturalization/citizenship. So that means if you are a graduate of a German university
get a full-time job. You get your permanent residency in less than two years, and you also get your citizenship in less than three after
that.
6. You can bring your children along while you study in Germany And most universities are family-friendly. There are student family
hostels too!
7. If you don't want to study, you can apply for full-time jobs in Germany from Nigeria, and you can enter Germany with your children on a work visa. However, that depends on the skills you have. It is easier to get a full-time job in Germany if you have IT skills (Data Analytics, Data Science, UI/UX design etc) not necessarily programming.
8. You can learn these skills in short boot camps (www.utiva.io) in Nigeria and apply for jobs in Germany.

None offers a straight pathway to naturalization (this should be her main target) and those who do are not English speaking. I doubt OP is prepared to learn another language. Also, those places have fewer blacks. But then, if Nigerians can be crude tribalists, nothing wrong in residing amongst racists.

Germany's pathway to naturalization is even easier than the UK. If you graduate from a German Uni, you will become a permanent resident in less than 2 years of full-time work there. Regarding the languages, they are learnable! There is even a German language school in Lagos(Goethe Institut). Her kids will even learn the language faster than her because their brain is still developing. Regarding racism, it exists everywhere and the UK is not exempted. The ease of getting a UK visa has made Nigerians not notice other European countries with better economies and a better standard of living.
Travel / Re: Is It Advisable To Japa Now? by bamdexfarms(m): 12:18pm On Mar 19, 2023
optimusprime2:
Your profile no longer favours a total japa situation...
Major reason; You are a single mother of 2 sub eleven year olds. If you had a partner, the situation would have been a little more ideal as there would be wiggle room to save finances and grow professionally.

Should I Explain Why?

One Major challenge in the UK is childcare. And it doesn't help matters if you are a single parent with two kids under the age of 10 years old, because that will severely impact how you should hussle or work (you need to be back by certain times from work as you can't leave minors unattended to), which would also impact the kind of house you would need to rent (housing costs based on your earnings), and the area in the UK you would need to live (proximity to schools for your children).

To be sane in the UK, you need to work and when I mean work, I mean mind busting work, no day should be wasted slouching. Because bills, rent and taxes need to be paid, while keeping up with professional and career development which also cost time and money. Basically the more you combine jobs, the better for you. However, two kids in the picture will totally break your stride and create an extra ton of costs. Doing it as a single parent, makes it even crazier.

However, if you have family in the UK "who are willing to help", basically you could drop the kids over during weekends while you bust your weekend grind, be it studying pro courses/certifications or an extra hussle, or they can help pickup the kids from school every weekday while you run your 9-5, leaving you to pick them to your home conveniently when you are done.
Either ways it's still going to be a very difficult routine- infact typing this, is making me sweat for you already (Keeping in mind you are 95% going to begin with a care job, based on your stated skills and experience in tech).

And lastly when you factor in your "self life"... the dating scene in the UK will relegate you to the "single mom category" which is literally the far end of the pool regardless of your age and trust me that category has a knack for attracting classic nutters, especially if you choose to be open to "diversity".

Bottom line, If you earn approximately 2000£ per month in Nigeria in your current situation, then I suggest you suspended this Japa idea for now till your kids are grown, then perhaps, you could sponsor them to secondary school in the UK (which would still require you to have a steady stream of income).

Also, the dating scene in Nigeria is more sane for your profile, you are more likely to get a reasonable package.

So please Japa does not ideally fit your profile, unless you really want to throw things up in the air and see how they fall.

Why not just visit the UK with the kids for now to build travel experience and save Japa plans for the future?

To add to your writeup above, there is a severe shortage of jobs right now in the UK. Technically they are in a recession as a result of Brexit but they don't want to announce it. Several people that left their lucrative jobs and businesses in Nigeria for the UK are currently struggling to find jobs. Even the so-called care jobs are getting difficult to find. As the poster above me advised, please weigh your options carefully. You are better off going to Canada than the UK. There are also better European countries you can migrate to with your family because there is nothing special about the UK. Their system is designed to collect from you rather than give. I pray God will guide your decision.

Apply for Global Talent Visa.
The Global Talent Visa category is for talented and promising individuals in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, humanities, digital technology and arts and culture (including film and television, fashion design and architecture) wishing to work in the UK. Applicants will be leaders in their field, or have the potential to be leaders, as determined by a Home Office recognised endorsing body.
Global Talent Visa allows you to come to the UK with your dependent partner and dependent. This visa is a route to settlement.
Global Talent Visa is in two Stages.
Stage 1: An application for endorsement where you pay £456 pounds applications fee to the Home Office and then submit your evidence to show you meet the criteria through an endorsement for your fields.
Stage 2: Application for visa (for stage two the visa fee is £157 pounds for main applicants and £623 pounds per dependant)
With Global Talent you can apply for up to 5 years visa, however you need to pay £624 for health insurance surcharge (IHS) per year for each person. If you plan to apply for 5 years visa the cost per dependant is £3743 i.e £623 (visa fee) + £3120 (IHS fee). If you can't afford 5years, you can apply for less number of years based on your budget but it means you have to renew your visa to qualify for ILR in 5 year.
In my opinion, the post difficult part is stage 1. You need to show evidence that you meet the eligibility criteria. You have to submit recommendation letters, evidence of recognitions that you are a recognised leader, proof of your impact in your field and other evidence listed in a guideline provided by an endorsement body for your field.
There are six (6) Endorsement bodies. The following bodies are designated as endorsing bodies for the purposes of the Global
Talent route:
1. Arts Council England - For arts, culture, film, television, fashion and
architecture applications
2. The British Academy - For humanities and social science applications
3. The Royal Society - For natural sciences and medical science research
applications
4. The Royal Academy of Engineering - For engineering applications
5. Tech Nation – For digital technology applications
6. UKRI –For applications from all research fields, supported by a grant or
award from an endorsed funder’
Check which of the endorsement bodies that is applicable to your field and do your research to see what they require to endorse your global talent application. In subsequent posts I will try to share what is required by endorsement bodies for the listed fields.

IT is extremely lucrative. He can buy cheap courses on udemy.com, udacity.com, courser.com, datacamp.com etc. We even have our Naija owned utiva.io. He can learn IT skills on all these platforms and be employable within months. Furthermore, all the certificates on these learning platforms are globally recognised. The key thing is to be able to demonstrate what you have learnt to a prospective employer. Skills like Data Analytics, Software development, UI/UX design are golden.

Sorry about what you are going through.

If you don't mind could you specify what Programm those students who successfully reunited with their spouses are into?

From what i know, a Student going for BSC or MSC Programm can't file for a family reunion visa. A PHD Student on the contrary has that added advantage.
I stand to be corrected though.

Perhaps the acquaintances who succeeded in reuniting with their spouses, were all PHD Students or there are other untold key details in their Story.

All the best.

BSc and MSc students also file for family reunion as far as they are legally married. In fact, all the fellow students I know are either Bsc of Masters students.

understood, but remember, operation overlord, which was the grand entry of Allied forces through Normandy in France, changed the dimension of the war. The Germans were attacked from two fronts. If the Germans waited for favourable weather, and the u.s hadn't entered the war, the Russian would not have been able to throw punch. Don't forget Russia only fought axis forces in Russia, Kharkov, Stalingrad, Moscow, but the u s liberated every other European country

I like your write-up, this shows that you are an avid lover of military history like myself. However, you've got it slightly mixed up. The Soviet Counter-Offensive that made the Wehrmacht retreat for the first time in WWII began on December 5th, 1941. The Normandy landings by the allies occurred on the 6th of June, 1944. Hitler had to redeploy most of his experienced soldiers and artilleries from the Western front to stop/slow down the menacing Red Army in the Eastern front. It was the diversion created by Russia that paved the way for the successful landing of the allies in Normandy. If Hitler had defeated Russia in 1941, Germany would have had access to the priceless oil field in the caucuses and they would have defeated the Allies easily. In a nutshell, we all should be thankful to Russia for defeating Nazi Germany when they did. Else Germany would have defeated England, we would have been a German colony and our lingua franca would have been Deutsch!!!

. See Russia who couldn't defeat Germany without the help of U.s forces. If u.s hadn't intervened, half of Russia would have been under control of Hitler. China would still be an annex of Japan, Iran could have been swallowed by Saddam Hussein Iraq. Ungrateful slaves. Don't worry u.s. no dey Sabi talk. Ww1 and ww2 can testify . The pix below was the aircraft the U.s used to drop bomb on Hiroshima in 1945. The name is enola gay. U.s are millions of miles away, forget their conference of some of their short comings. Na to make una think they aren't as powerful as before

Point of correction, the USA never helped Russia to defeat Hitler. Operation Barbarossa (invasion of Russia) failed as a result of unwavering resistance of the Red Army, Russian winter and logistic problems encountered by the Wehrmacht. The Russians singlehandedly defeated the Nazis from their campaign in Eastern Europe.

Even getting appiontment to register in d foregin offices in dis cities once u enter Germany is another story ,sometmyz ur 3mnths visa elapses b4 u get an appointment . Jst b strong. To add to your comment, sometimes the Embassy/Consulate tactically delays the visa processing for no reason. My wife's document verification has been completed by the embassy since October last year. The Aüslanderamt initially claimed they have not received any notification from the embassy. After so many emails to them, they eventually claimed that they have the electronic notification from the embassy and they are waiting for her file to be sent. All this back and forth has been going on for over 2 months now. As you rightly said, they don't like blacks settling down here with their families.
