Sincerely speaking at the time this interview was conducted I haven't taken any serious interest (not that I've been interested in him since then though). you see your naivite is coming through loud and clear - interviews are very important particularly to people in the limelight like DMX because people like him are seen as icons to young black disenfrachised men therefore it is important that he sends out the right signals and doesnt come across as ignorant and self absorbed as he does in this interview.  For your information entertainers are mouthpieces and conduits of popular opinion and they are in very powerful positions as their words, thoughts and actions can influence significant numbers of people.  the likes of bob marley, john lennon, fela kuti have had huge influences on the minds of people particularly young people

for every one of the above songs you have mentioned i can mention a couple more of his songs with offensive lyrics, here goes:

and no i dont bother listening to rappers bragging about guns and violence as its complete and utter mind pollution, i dont listen to will smith either as i find his music bland but these sorry assed rappers pretending to be macho but exploiting weak minded individuals with all the misogyny and violence that they spew is to me doing the black community a gross disservice.

see my comments above - just in case you missed it rappers are modern day poets  and have a responsibilty to their listeners, using words like nigga, biatch, hoe shows them up for the low life scum that they are - they should be offering something better than that - music is a powerful medium and shoudl be used in a positive form ie  to convey useful information/knowledge  - a lot of young people are more likely to memorise and understand the lyrics to most popular rap artists songs than the words of shakespeare in julius caesar.

X is a suffix used by members of the nation of islam  to replace their former slave names eg Malcolm X used the x suffix to replace his "slave name" Little. - you refer to DMX as "X" which  could erroneously lead people to beleive that he is a member of the nation of islam which clearly he isnt based on his ignorant statements about Obama and his failure to understand and accept his own african ancestry.

PSquare have always been rather weak with regards to the content and quality of their music,
They however have been able to use their dance moves, great videos and understanding of the Nigerian Market to use and it has worked marvelously for them.

Having said that we all know that they have a rather annoying habit of copying other artistes and not been very original
