Google the name "Vealkyrie" . . . 99% of 'her' posts on Nairaland thus far were posted on 29 July (the same date 'she' registered) . . . and 99% of those posts are one-liners . . . they were hurriedly posted; a foolish attempt at having enough posts to make us believe that 'she' has been around for long, that she didn't register for the sole purpose of countering Bamsyle on this thread . . .

It's so easy to spot . . . when peops think they're smart, they assume everyone else is daft . . .

It's so easy to know . . . he was quick to notice a word that I've used only once on this forum . . . also, when you observe him closely, it'll be so easy to know that:

i) He's a man, not a woman

ii) He registered for the sole purpose of posting here (registered on 29 July, quickly posted randomly in some other threads so he would appear like a regular poster who'd been existing before posting in here . . . thereafter, he finally came in here, on the same date, to carry out his sole purpose of registering in the first place)

iii) He keeps referring to Jackal . . . and at the same time, he says I've copied some of the words used by some other posters in here . . . but he singled out Jackal . . .

iv) He prefers to refer to the name "Jackal", not "Sauron" - how long ago had the name "Jackal" been expunged from Nairaland (not forgetting that even its successor, Hannibal also bit the dust long ago )?? It's a foolish trick to avert our minds from thinking of the name "Sauron" . . . a name that's now so notorious for inconsistency and biting . . . a name that he knows would trigger an alarm and make us start to suspect sumn fishy . . .

v) His style of writing is "suppressed"/"subdued"/"restrained" . . . you don't need a writing expert to tell you that he's trying hard to pretend to be someone else . . . he's trying hard to keep back the insults (that he as Sauron is best known for) . . . trying to keep his posts short (contrary to the long or mid-length posts he's known for) . . . etc, etc . . .

vi) He quickly jumped on the Eminem vs. Mariah Carey thread . . . and criticized Eminem (contrary to his habitual Eminem manliness-riding) to make us believe that he ain't Sauron . . . his post is even directly after mine . . . 

vii) He has "been reading comments on this forum for long" (that was his assertion) . . . Indeed  . . . we can also assume that of all the posters in here, he has been dogging Bamsyle's steps all that while . . . he has been reading comments from Bamsyle and Jackal only . . . hence he knows every word that both dudes type . . . he even observed that Bamsyle's "method of writing" has changed "since he joined the forum" . . . and he knows every word that Jackal uses on this forum . . . 

viii) Who else has the habit of reviewing peops' posts for errors, especially when boxed into a tight corner in an argument?? Sauron of course!! He came in here and had nutin to say about the topic . . . all that our distinguished Prof Vealkyrie had to say was about grammatical construction and blah blah . . .

ix) When his arse is exposed, Sauron is notorious for churning out a taciturn/evasive 'denial' in response . . . his denials are, at best, elusive - he doesn't directly deny what he's accused of . . . his denial of being Magnum and of biting lines are cases in point . . . this one is also going down in history . . .

Yes, Eminem/Slim Shady is an entertainer/persona . . . quite different from Marshall Mathers . . . but so also is Jay-Z different from Shawn Carter, Snoop Dogg different from Cordazar Broadus, Busta Rhymes different from Trevor Smith . . . and so on . . .

But mind you, there's a thin line . . . a very thin line . . . between a stage persona . . . and the real one.

An artiste might tweak, twist, and turn his themes . . . and weave 'em around several situations . . . but the predominant/overall subject matter of his/her music is a reflection of his/her real persona . . .

I quite understand that Slim Shady is a fiend, a demon, an imp . . . he clowns, disses, narrates horror stories, is fond of using a chain-saw to sever limbs, spills blood, insults women . . . etc . . . I'm quite familiar with his persona as created vide his earlier albums . . . particularly SSLP and MMLP.

But don't forget that a rapper/an MC is a poet . . . and a script-writer . . . someone who creates a story . . . creates a world . . . puts characters in it . . . assigns roles to them . . . and makes them play out those roles . . . by acting out his story . . .

Most times, these stories are make-believe . . . especially when they're disses . . . listeners listen/watch and laugh . . . they know most of those stories ain't true . . . they're not even intended to be true.

For example, in "8Mile" . . . when Eminem points at Xzibit's boots and says "Hey, look at your boots, they're even growing roots" . . . listeners would just laugh . . . knowing fully well that there are no roots in Xzibit's boots . . .

Hell, the 'battle' is even between two full-grown and able-bodied men . . . they can handle each other.

But when a full-grown male rapper literally transfers the anger and frustration of his real world into a couple of songs . . . all directed at a woman . . . a woman with whom he had a failed relationship . . . then that ain't funny no more . . . it's cheapening . . . people make and break relationships everyday . . . as adults, parties are expected to move on with their lives when these relationships pack up . . . not recording songs about how the other party was 'boned' . . . Jeez, even if you must diss a woman . . . in a rap song for that matter . . . must you tell us the color of her panties?? Only kids in elementary do that . . . Eminem is in his late thirties . . . he oughtta know better.

A lot of naija artistes use words like "remix", "sample", etc inter-changeably . . . and they're misnomers when you get to listen to the songs in reference . . . even if you pronounce 2face guilty, he's not the first to have ever done it.

6.Copies of the original song with shaggy were sold but you cant get that kind of copy which cleverly had shaggy's voices removed from the open market.Such kind of material are usually sourced from the internet.

I expected you to know better . . . artistes cut different versions of their songs . . . these are done in the studio . . . they have their data on CDs and can do anything they want with it, that's why they produce a cappella, instrumentals and all-what-not . . . and as a DJ, you guys can place the hook part on repeat and make a fruity loop kinda thing out of it (I'm not a DJ so you can explain this better) . . . why then would Kels refer to the internet alone, of all sources?? 7.Kels initially staing that the song was 'tapped from the internet' already makes clear that the material was stolen and used without permission.That also makes quite clear that he never in his life recorded a song with tuface.

Hearsay again . . . and that's aside the fact that an artiste can use another artiste's material, once the deal is sealed at management level . . . why would 2face and Kels meet again to discuss it over dinner??

1. When you read the story in City Peops and compare it with that of amebo/onlinenigeria, you'll observe that the account was narrated word for word . . . and in same sequence . . . City Peops was allegedly the first to carry the news . . . other sources just jumped into the story . . . and reported it verbatim - they have no story of their own . . . or credible source whatsoever.

2. "An insider" was reported to have "disclosed that when R.Kelly was asked about 2face, he denied him, saying he had never heard the name before" . . . an insider?? If you guys read the whole story again (it's on some blogs and websites), you won't even see this so-called insider being linked with any organization, media house or institution . . . an insider of which institution?? From where??

3. 2face, through his management, had at various times at the onset of this controversy, explained that Toyin Subair brokered the deal that culminated in "Flex" . . . Mr Subair is the boss of HiTV cable network . . . he's a distinguished Nigerian . . . not a faceless individual . . . he has not come out to deny 2face's story.

4. Kels was alleged to have denied ever "meeting 2face" . . . a pic was posted on this thread - www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-292458.96.html . . . where the duo both appeared . . . how could Kels then say "he has never met 2face or heard of his name ever"?? Has the meaning of the English word "meet" changed??

5. This so-called denial has not been reported in any other newspaper or mag . . . apart from City People . . . there are, I think, tens of credible newspapers, tabloids, and magazines in Nigeria . . . none of 'em reported this story . . . whatever happened to The Guardian?? Punch?? Even ThisDay?? These are the very organizers of the show at which Kels granted the interview!!!

And I want to believe that a lot of media outfits woulda been at that show . . . including TV stations . . . have they featured this story in their news reports?? Have they shown clips of the 'interview' on TV?? Why, of all the credible media outfits out there, is it that only City People (best known for gossip and hearsay) reported this story??

6. Peops in here should take time out to read the story in details . . . R.Kelly was quoted as saying that the song musta been "tapped from the internet" . . . so, Kels believes that the only way his song coulda been accessed was to "tap it from the internet"?? Meaning he didn't consider other ways of obtaining the song?? Whatever happened to purchasing it from a store?? Getting it from a friend?? Did he not release the song to the public?? Were copies of the song not sold??

7. Again, read this 'interview' . . . Kels was quoted as denying that he recorded "Flex" with 2face . . . did he unequivocally state that the song was illegitimately obtained/released?? As reported, he only gave a candid reply to the question posed to him . . . assuming, without conceding, that the interview did happen, is it not glaring that whoever posed such a question was only asking Kels a "leading question"?? It's a rhetorical question . . . a close-ended question . . . why wasn't Kels asked if the song was stolen?? It smacks of bad faith.

8. Even a tomfool . . . upon listening to "Flex" . . . would easily recognize that the blending of voices and arrangement on that song could not be a result of two voices in same studio at the same time . . . that was a simple interpolation/sample/sound collage . . . even though our understanding of the word "featuring" or "feature" in Music is that of a "guest appearance" . . . that does not mean we should not be able to interprete what exactly was done on that song . . .

Misnomers like this abound on the (Nigerian) Music Scene . . . just a couple of days ago, I still read the print on Banky W's CD . . . while referring to the track "Ebutte Meta", it was labelled as containing a sample and an interpolation of Rihanna's "Umbrella" . . . Heavens, an interpolation or sample does not entail the use of the whole body of a song . . . just a lil' part of it is used . . . and the result is a totally different song . . . it has to sound different . . . it's different from a remix where everything can be used . . . an example of a true sample or interpolation is Ruggedman's "Watch Me" (featuring snippets from James Brown's "Call Me Super Bad" . . .

I'm sure someone would also call Funke Celine Dion's Yoruba interpretation of "If That's What It Takes" a 'sample' or 'interpolation' . . . 

9. I'm yet to hear 2face and his management claim that the duo actually recorded in a studio together . . . all they said was that there was an agreement to use the song . . . why would anyone choose to disbelieve 2face's camp . . . only to dance to the tune being played by a soft-sell mag reputed for gossip like City Peops . . . and replicated in a website with a name like "Amebo No.1"??

10. Some posters in here have stated that R.Kelly has no reason to sue 2face . . . limiting the reasons that would prompt him to take such action to monetary gains . . . I laugh - cos his reputation, his goodwill, his persona, are at stake . . . and I mean those in relation to R.Kelly the artiste, not Robert Kelly the person (before some mis-interpretation is read into it) . . . here's a dude who has worked hard all his life to build a level of goodwill in the Global (not American) Music Industry . . . now a "faceless", "relatively unknown" artiste from a "third-world country" (as some posters in here regard 2face) . . . someone that R.Kelly has never "met" or "heard of", claims to have performed a duet with him . . . and the song is in circulation in the most populous black nation in the world . . . even beyond (it's in circulation in other African countries definitely) . . . and Music Piracy is theft . . . now, tell me that's not actionable??

The whole piece of news leaves so much to be desired . . . it creates suspicion . . . there's definitely something being unsaid or wrongly said somewhere . . . something is quite fishy . . . and I'm not even interested in it from a personal angle . . . I just like to get to the bottom of issues . . . I don't jump at everything I hear . . . I sit down, analyse . . . and judge by the neutrals of each case.

Until we get to know the full story/the whole truth, judging by the neutrals, this story is, at best and as it stands right now, Hearsay . . .

Until the haze before our eyes is clear . . . letz not jump into hasty conclusions . . . many times, this forum has been used by members who have personal scores to settle, to vent their spleen . . .

These IMO, are the four best female MCS from Naija (at least they're good and are the most well-known for now) . . . my candid opinion on each of them is as follows:

Sasha

Strengths -

Good voice (and it's easily identifiable)

Nice flows and breath control (has a steady rhythm/cadence when rhyming on beats)

Impressive rhymes (knows how to flip words to make sensible rhymes)

Attitude (has swagger and overall, a good 'rap attitude' . . . as such, is good for 'TV')

Weaknesses -

Lyrics: Can't score her high on this

Sounds inaudible atimes (doesn't spin her words clearly enough atimes)

Bouqui

Strengths -

Lyrics: Quite impressive . . . always tryna kick knowledge (good element of an MC)

Rhymes: Quite impressive too

Impressive voice (both singing and rapping)

Spits really audibly so she can be heard clearly

Flows: No doubt she rides the beat well . . . but this is also a weakness for her as mentioned below . . .

Weaknesses -

Flows: Has a tendency to rap too fast and offbeat . . . she reminds one of Da Brat atimes when spittin' . . . but she tends to flow too fast to do justice to the beat . . .

Kel

Great delivery/flows/cadence: Rhymes like she has a metronome count indicator installed in her sub-conscious so her delivery is spun perfectly to tango well with the beat . . .

Good rhymes

Has a catchy style of rapping (tilts towards being more of an MC than a rapper)

Weaknesses -

I see a need for more work on her voice/vocal rendition . . . needs to sound unique

Blaise

Great rap voice (voice is well suited for Rap)

Rhymes seamlessly (without much effort)

Flow/delivery is always perfectly in sync with the beat

Can switch styles easily - can rap fast or slow, hardcore or [i]mild[/i]core, 'basic' or 'bounce' . . . without going offbeat . . . and still sound impressive

Lyrics are quite impressive . . . kicks knowledge

Last word: Put her on any rap beat and she'll sure smoke it out . . . plus she's even hotter when she features on cuts by her colleagues . . . Freestyle's "Braggin' Rights" and MI's "Blaze" are examples . . .

Weaknesses -

So long, too long . . . where's ya album?? Haba!!!
