You are good to go as your own sponsor and I think career progression is in the right order too. 1. Letter of introduction from your workplace stating when you started work with them, your position, how much you are paid, Where exactly you are seeking visa for, What you are going to Canada to do, how it will help you in the workplace, permission granted to travel to Canada and the time you are due back. 2. Pay checks 3. Documents to show acquisition of land or property if available 4. Car documents 5. Your education certificates and transcripts (WAEC, University etc.) 6. Birth certificate 7. Marriage Certificate if relevant to you. 8. Statement of account (should be in mybankstatement form) what bank is your fund in? 9. Medical Reports (it is always better to do upfront medicals and upload with your application before submission. However, if you can't, go on and submit, then do the medicals and upload via webform before they request for it. These 2 options help you save time) Tests are done only in Lagos or Abuja? 10. IELTS tests with 6:00 or more in each skill. 11. Family pictures showing everyone 12. Clear scan copies of your international passport data pages including all visas and markings in it. 13. Digital passports 14. Your CV 15. NYSC certificate 16. CAC documents of company or companies you have. 17. Letter of Admision from your University 18. Work ID 19. School and other fees receipts for your children; ties back home 20. All IRCC forms duly filled and validated 21. Any other necessary document you may have. I have never uploaded a police report for all applications I have helped with. I don't think it is compulsory. You can add it if you like. I also have no idea if it expires. Your official transcripts should be addressed to your school of admission not the embassy. 7COLOURS: I greatly appreciate your feedback sir.
I have 15m naira in my account and my school fees is about 5.1m naira. Admission deposit of 700,000 naira will be paid end of March from the 15m.
I have BSc in Business Administration, National Diploma in Business Studies and I intend to do my PGD at Centennial College. Course of study is International Business Management.
I currently have 16 years work experience from different private organizations as Admin/HR Manager.
I'm planning to sponsor myself now without getting a sponsor.
Please what are the documents I should majorly concentrate on getting now before I start my application?
Is it ok to get my police report now? Hope it does not expire? Will my school transcript be addressed to the embassy or my school in Canada?
Should I book for medicals after I submit my application to the embassy or before?
I hope my write up helps.
All the best.
Will appreciate if I get guide on the documents to get ready first before application commences.
Thanks to everyone helping here, God bless you All. |

The sponsor will depend on what is in the account. Do you have up to CAD 30k and above? It will also help to be more specific in the course and the degree you wish to undertake to help other people learn. However, since you stated it's the same course but in a higher degree and also what you are practicing, I think you are in the right direction and should definitely convince the visa officer. Wishing you all the best. 7COLOURS: Thanks Baphil, school resumption date is May 2022.
I will be 41 this year, will it be advisable to use sponsor or present myself as sponsoring myself.
I have two children, mother, brothers and sisters with a building owned by me. Plan is to use my children, siblings and property as home ties.
I currently work, 16 years experience practicing what I studied in school here in Nigeria and about going for same course but higher degree.
Please what are my chances? |

Teeprecious: Its only better and fair that these guys come out plainly to let people know whether the ielts is now compulsory in all aspect. If an applicant doesn't have the requirement for the NSE route, they should simply allow such person go through the normal route with a longer processing period. This is absolutely unfair na |

If 2022, I would advice you start gathering all necessary documents and apply by September to December this year. All the best 7COLOURS: Good morning and many thanks to everyone helping out here. I got my offer letter yesterday from Centennial College. Please is there any WhatsApp group for Centennial students?
My school resumption date is May 2022, when is the best time to apply for visa?

Good morning people of God. I hope we are well and receiving our PPR left, right and centre.
My friend received the attached mail this morning after several webforms and emails. It looks like they are insisting on the NSE requirements even after the date has expired and normal processing time has passed too.
Their attached mail is still the same NSE request letter of 19th November 2020.
She wrote back to tell them she had already written to them stating she can't meet up and that she has opted for the normal processing time.
What do you gurus think?

Hello Baphil,
You don't necessarily need to mention your US citizen child in your application. However, do well to make the VO understand how he will fair or his wellbeing will be cater for.
Prior after your visa has been approved, you can email IRCC on his behalf to be exempted from the travel restriction and request for an "Authorization to Travel" letter be approved.
Best of Luck[/quote] |

My friend is in this category. Submitted in October. Didn't respond to NSE request and written severally but no response whatsoever. She is so worried and confused. ATHIBAT: Good evening everyone. I hope someone responds to this enquiry. So I submitted in November 4, got request letter in December 8 and went to do upfront medicals in Feb 8, after reading from here that not doing upfront medicals may be the reason for delayed response.
There at IOM, although the doctor told me my result would be uploaded within 3 days thereabout, there was however a lady that gave me this document (attached) and advised I upload it on my profile or give my agent to assist. I engaged my agent, but he said I do not need to upload any document. Please check this document and advise on what to do please, especially for those who have done their upfront medicals before. I would be in the comment looking out for your advises. Thank you. Also, I noticed those from October till date that are waiting to process via normal route without providing the NSE request are yet to be responded to, could you please indicate if this is true, if you are in this category. |

Thank you for this useful input. However, when I was answering the questions that generate the checklists, I was told the child doesn't need a visa to go to Canada because he's a US citizen which I already knew but just trying it out. So because he didn't need a visa, he (4years old) couldn't be added to the application. My issue is if the mother can't add him to her application, how then will she notify IRCC that she will be traveling with him? Is it compulsory to declare that? Please ideas and pieces of advice needed here. ramobiojo: I am no expert but applying with two kids is a very long shot. You would need to write a very convincing SOP on why they must go with you, and fully demonstrate about how you intend to cater for them while you study.
Response to your questions: 1. Yes. you need to indicate the children accompanying you, including the US citizen. 2. I guess this has been answered in 1. 3. Yes, the accompanying child would take medical test and might be required to take biometrics if the child is of a certain age. |

Hello house, Please I need answers on the following questions:
1. If someone who is applying for student permit, has two children and one is a US citizen; does she still need to add that child in her application?
2. If not, how does she add her US citizen child to her application? How does she notify IRCC about the child. Does she need to notify them?
3. Does this child need to do medical test too?
Thank you in anticipation of your responses. |

Thank you very much. Lekiboboe: You are welcome
Like I said initially, AIP ended September 15, 2020, except they have started the AIP method again which am not aware of.
All application done after Sept. 15 ,2020 till now is going through the normal processing.
An applicant who submitted his Application on October 2020 and has done Medicals (Upfront or Medical request) and have not gotten a response from IRCC till now should send webforms and mails to IRCC to enquire about his Application (for expedition purpose), cos his Application has passed Normal Processing Time. (The Present processing time now is 13 weeks).
It is very risky & not advisable to start an online class when you haven't gotten PPR, cos once you start classes your Tuition will start counting and if anything happens otherwise (God forbid), the school will not refund back your money
Infact, during the period AIP was trending last year (August 5 to September 15, 2020), due to some uncertainty, those with AIP were scared of start classes online cos no one knows what IRCC was up to |

Thank you so much for this deatailed explanation. I want to ask if it is a problem if someone who applied for January admission and is still awaiting PPR to enroll online without this AIP letter. The person applied in October 2020 Lekiboboe: AIP is a two-stage approval process that is applied to candidates at all levels of education whose course is starting in the fall semester or earlier and who submit, or have previously submitted a Study permit request online on or before September 15, 2020.
In order to be approved in principle, you need to demonstrate that you have been admitted by a Canadian college or university and you have the financial ability to pay for it. Also, you would be required to submit and approve all the pending documents before being allowed to enter Canada.
Basic Documents Required to get an AIP (Stage 1) Letter of acceptance (LOA) Proof of funds Temporary or permanent status Family ties to Canada
Documents for the Admissibility Stage (Stage 2) Immigration medical examination Security-Police certificates Biometrics
Find attached a Sample of an AIP |

Nothing unusual is happening. I know someone who applied in September and another person applied in January for the same course. The one who applied in January wrote them and asked for the way forward and they responded that they will make a decision in late March. Their decision will be for everyone who applied from September to January. Mind you, the deadline for that application was middle of January. So it depends on the deadline and when their admission council will meet to make a decision. You can write them directly and enquire too if you think it's taking too long. feclela: My people, I've applied to Conestoga College since December last year and I'm yet to hear from them.

Yes, when I read through here and also from my friend's application, I saw that mybankstatement is compulsory for NSE, so I generated it here upfront. You are in the right and brilliant course. Upfront upload of both ielts and mybankstatement will save you time and anxiety. All the best in your application. JosephYemsol: Oh, so you generated mybankstatement right away... Cool..
I think I'll do Ielts, submit the result with my application, then send d mybank statement as well... With this, they should not ask for any other doc other than to just send me a mail that my application will be processed NSE |

For POF, I merged their Nigerian and foreign bank accounts. I uploaded a generated mybankstatement codes and passwords for the Nigerian bank accounts. Luckily their banks are listed as banks that generate mybankstatement codes. I also uploaded their foreign bank accounts. I may not tell you exactly the amount but I can confirm it is over the required 30,000CAD for NSE. I guess that's why they didn't request for it and I also uploaded for Nigerian banks. I hope this is clarifying enough. All the best. JosephYemsol: Congrats.
You got a mail to submit Ielts alone? Wow...
