Hope you don't mind Sir. I've been turning my head in all directions in thought as to what your signature means. I see war, I see peace, I see Islam and I see peaceful....

I was going to direct a comment at lonelydora, then I looked at his profile - for the username does strike me - and then I reserve my comment.

Quite an interesting selection indeed. I do particularly enjoy Dale Carnegie's 'How to win friends and influence people' and have actually been able to benefit from applying it's principles a couple times. However, due to my own belief system, I take into consideration the thought patterns of authors - which I can tell from partially reading their books - before I go further into it as the delicacy of the mind suggests a carefulness as to what is fed to it. That is the reason I chose not to read '48 laws of power' and a couple other books that focuses on power and manipulation. Power itself is a drug on it's own that most often leads to destruction. There's a difference between a good leader and a bad leader, and that's there belief system.

However, first on my list would be 'Think and grow rich' and 'Laws of success' both by Napoleon Hill, then Dale Carnegie's book as earlier mentioned, 'The secret' by Rhonda Byrne and other series by her, 'Why you act the way you do' by Tim Lahaye, without failing to mention Robert Kiyosaki's 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' which prompted the hunger in me to seek real education.

I must say though that this subject is much more than just a topic and totally deserves a section of it's own when even more trivial subjects do have theirs. Personal development is crucial for the benefit of individuals and for the society at large, for the more individuals who think critically and possess an awareness about life the nation possesses, the more there can be an effective influence on her people to equally embrace a conscious life and a release from the stronghold of societal ills. Many of our youths are more concerned about what others think and say about them rather than a self-awareness of what they can and should achieve according to their purpose on Mother Earth.

Fortunately, more people are beginning to become aware about a greater purpose for their lives and have started to live accordingly, seeking more knowledge and taking responsibility of themselves, as well as extending it onto others who also need to wake up to their own responsibilities. The world has not a greater need for more life coaches than a time as now when so much seem to be going wrong. Only with more individuals with a desire to change the world could there an acknowledgement of a movement that would truly change the world.

I think love itself is an overrated concept.

Love is just a thing of the mind like every other feeling or emotion. Your definition of what love is,is a matter of what your mind percieves it to be and not what is.

Are you what your mind perceives you to be, or is your mind what you allow it to be? Do you let your mind run along and all over the place or do you direct it to where you seek for it to be? Love is the single most important emotion that helps the mind in it's course to grow and the emotion ahead of faith and sex - the rest of the only 3 emotions- that prompts action and helps bring our desire to fruition.
So love is not overrated, as a matter of fact it has so long being underrated, for love is truly the essence of life.

It's actually a typical thing of the mankind. Men can be jealous and so can women as well. As a matter of fact women are known for this. People take it to be normal sometimes but it's not, and so isn't a whole lot of other life issues that people consider normal like cursing, using vulgar words, being vengeful, dishonesty, selfishness, and so on and on. People who realise that life can actually be normal without so much negativity have chosen to seek self-development. Personally, I had to seek self-growth myself because I knew it wasn't right from the way so many people in the society live life. I knew there was something more and so had to rise above the ordinary and I'm glad I did because now I understand the meaning of true love and happiness. And it's very easy to tell from afar the kind of people I come across, making it easy to attract the kind of person best for me, someone who possess same values as I do.

Honestly, I can't say much about the higher institution. As a matter of fact if I could do things differently, I wouldn't have bothered going at all. Considering that many come out to find jobs that have entirely nothing to do with their course of study, it seems like a total waste of those 4 or more years spent cramming so many words. Fortunately, my kids won't tread this same path, as I doubt that I shall expose them to the conventional educational system of today's society.

You know, I've come across quite a number of people with faith in achieving success and very hopeful that they would acquire wealth. However if it all depended on faith and hope alone, then a lot of people would be living more successful, wealthier lives. Most Nigerians must be familiar with the pidgin English phrase 'e go better' from a popular song, often heard from folks all around and has become a sort of consolation against hardship. If carefully considered, you might know one or two people who render this anthem, yet still have not received any bit of betterment in their lives. Now I think that we do not need a seer to tell us that there's a lot more than that to getting better.

There's a saying, 'Heaven helps those who help themselves', so unless you help yourself become better, there's no way you can achieve it. Surely Heaven wants you to be better and that's why the efforts of those who help themselves are always crowned.
How can you be better though when you do not know how to be better? How can you know how to be better when you do not desire to become better? You do desire to be better you say? "Who does not desire to become better than they are", you ask rhetorically. So many people do not I tell you. While some do not even think about it, some believe they are at their best and do not need to be better. The few who desire to become better - because they try to think and acknowledge that some things are not right in their lives - do not possess a desire strong enough to become better.

These kind of people are a bit better than they used to be at a time though and are only a few steps away from making a real difference in their lives. What they need is to strengthen their desire to stand out from the public and start to create the life they desire.

There are so many good companies in the industry, however there difference between your making money and your ending up frustrated and jumping from one company to another lies absolutely in you.
