I was up to catch a glimpse of it at 3am, I had been expecting to see it and it was awesome. It's special because it wasn't just a blood moon but a super moon as well which was last seen in 1982 and won't be seen for another 18 years. And the best part it happened on my birthday to shower in new things and blessings for me. I feel so lucky and excited. grin

I've been feeling rather excited for a couple of days now as I've been looking forward to many great things to come. Yesterday was my birthday which usually is a regular day but was a bit different and special as I feel blessed. Special as it was because there was a lunar eclipse, a rare blood and super moon, a sight last seen in 1982.
So today I choose to share my blessings.

I'm offering the first 12 people to signify interest, a free coaching session on achieving personal objectives. If you seek to choose or change careers, build better relationships and improve existing ones, set goals and reach them, determine priorities, and find yourself to live with more love, joy and peace of mind, then this program is for you.
Don't miss out, hit me up in my inbox.

Greetings!

Nice topic bro, but its been a while where have you been? Dearpreye bare1 how do you tackle naysayers

They don't have any effect on me cause I know better. However it's not nice when they are your family but doesn't make any difference, doesn't have to have any effect on you. The more you pursue and achieve your goals, the more you make them believe in you.

@bolded, exactly

Well it's up to you to work on. Nobody is perfect but our capacity to get better and grow lies in our ability to learn rather than create alibis. Fortunately I'm not the only one who sees the problem, hopefully you would as well eventually.

Happy Holidays!

When you allow someone or a group of people do your thinking for you, they would eventually be your god as you see their word as wisdom. However you don't know their inspiration and their purpose on Earth. While some glorify God, some promote the devil, seeking destruction for many but only through a renewal of the mind can you find the truth. On the last day, every individual will give an account of their life.

You mean a sign that you should desist from jumping into conclusion? undecided

A sign that you need to go deeper into self improvement so you can understand some things. Then you can understand why problems shouldn't be the discussion but solutions. If this means I'm jumping into conclusions, then maybe there's more besides the one I see.

Who's blaming? Tell me one thing that I mentioned there that isn't a fact.

I really don't need a lecture on responsibility because last time I checked no one helped me to where I am.

Yes, I do agree that development starts with self but then what happens after that? What is the essence of becoming rich when you will still have to buy fuel or diesel for your generator at the end of the day. After you develop yourself, it is important to spread your ideas to other people.

If you take time to really look inwards, you would understand no one is your competition but yourself. The issue isn't about me or jumping into conclusions. I only tried to help you see that it's not about who doesn't do what, but what you do and don't do. There's more during the journey of self development as there is a need to change the world but that's only when we succeed in changing ourselves. A problem is solved when you target the root cause. The root cause of a national issue depends on the individuals of the nation but if you don't see it from that POV, well then the journey continues. You're still gonna have to be responsible for what you understand though.

Ajanlekoko it is impossible to have all temperament traits. You can only have one dominant or major and one passive or minor temperament. So all you need is sincerity, and you'll locate your temperament type.

I beg to differ on that as I have got 3 temperaments which even though a bit rare, not uncommon.

This story of change in Nigeria has largely been misrepresented and so misunderstood. They've been talking about change and I have been saying, 'how can a person or group of people give you what they don't have?' Considering the state of the nation I've not stopped asking the same question. But I'm not going to talk about politics because my life hasn't got anything to do with it.

However I will briefly talk about the need to change oneself and what it entails. In life we've come quite a long way growing up and during this time there are quite a number of things that we were thought that wasn't entirely correct. Things that played a part in depriving many people of the know-how to live. We were thought these things not because our parents and teachers disliked - I'm sure they did - but because it's what they had been thought as well and worked better for them than it is doing in this century of an ever-changing world.

Some questions to ask ourselves with an open mind and all the honesty we can muster are, 'why are things not exactly working for me as I'd want?' 'Why can't I live the life I truly desire rather than get mauled by circumstances?' 'Why do I have to settle for less than I can get?' 'Why are some people living in luxury even as they weren't born with silver spoons?' 'Why are the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer?'
The last two questions I will answer but the previous ones, you have to answer yourself.

It's becoming less of a secret that we as individuals possess great powers vested in us from our source. A fact that even though has existed from the beginning of mankind is still unknown to many. Now you look around the world and understand what power lies in the inventors and creators of the things of the world to enable them achieve such feats.
This power lies in the mind of every individual and people aware of it have succeeded in exploiting it to amass great wealth for themselves through great accomplishments expected of anyone that shares a likeness to the Creator, infinite greatness.

Because it's knowledge sought and applied to get results, there's a need for a transition from the ordinary to the extraordinary, from your comfort zone to your success zone, and this need is personal development and self growth. This only means that you can become a better person mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially. When you find yourself, only then can you realise the essence of the connection we all share as humans and why you should be good to others. And so as others succeed we all succeed, but when a few suffer the rest of us do so as well.

My POV is of a national nature

Your responsibility to the nation is for yourself first. Like the lady said, the traits mentioned in the OP is to assess yourself with and it's disastrous measuring others with. Any issues you have with others are issues with yourself and not them. We all need to start to be responsible for ourselves and stop the complaining and blaming.

I had an experience today that made me question if we as Nigerians are ready for “Change”

I had cause to deposit some few bucks in bank. There's this new sky bank that opened for business few months ago so no much queues. I timed myself as usual that maximum fifteen minutes I'm done.

I met a shocker on entering the banking hall. I wanted to just turn back but I decided to proceed and join the queue only after seeking for the last person.

After like 30mins on queue, people were already getting agitated on how slow the cashier is--she's already stressed up and more pressures might make her do some mistakes which will always be deducted from her salary which may barely take her home. I asked the few people around to be patient and allow her time to do her job for it is not her fault that the bank is understaffed. I didn't know she heard it and looked up to me with that eyes of gratitude. I was happy I already made a soul happy today and prayed my good deed will be accepted by baba God.

Then this dude walked in-----Bodies tattooed, dressed like a gangster with a backpack and hands in pockets with some wired hair style. Dude filled out his forms sat for a few moment and then walked up to my queue---which is now 3 persons before my turn. He stood beside me and was all acting like a drug addict. I initially thought he might be an outrider sent to monitor proceedings before the real Men fall in. Have already prepared my mind and body for eventuality. Just immediately the it got to the turn of the man in my front--- a man I think in his 50's who acted a lil bit slow before the dude beside me tender his form to be processed. I was shocked the old man in my front looked at the dude and kept silent!!!

I as a matter of principle abhor any form of oppression and injustice. I asked the cashier lady not to attend to the dude cos he wasn't on queue. The dude was shocked at such effrontery. I've already scanned the dude and noticed I can take him out in less than a minute if the content of his bag does not contain nuclear warheads.

I tapped the baba on his shoulders to reassure him that he's safe and only need to say the truth cos the dude told everybody that he's in front of the baba. Baba says it was a lie. The dude turned to me and asked do I know who he is? I told him what ever you are is irrelevant to me as long as you join the queue. He raised his voice and every where was quite and thundered do I know who he is? I walked up to him pointed my finger to his flat chest and told him to his face in a calm cold deadly voice with every fiber in me giving him all assurances I told him in the quietness of the hall with all eyes locked on us that he's a chaff man.

Dude got the massage and quietly walked away and I went back to join baba who was processing his cheque. Dude then started abusing baba in some hard line yoruba. Most people were intimidated some few guys whispered why he was avoiding me was cos he knows I'm a worthy opponent. The was giving out deadly threats to baba that I noticed baba legs were bout shaking. With a hand on baba shoulders I reassured him he's safe as long as I'm here.

I was shocked the two guards there went to pacify the guy and took him to another queue where all the people gave way for him out of fear of the guy. The dude left the hall shouting that he will deal with baba. I finished paying in and told baba I will wait and escort him outside and make sure he's safe. He thanked me with a smile and said some prayers for me.

Baba then followed behind me on getting outside I couldn't see baba so I turned back to look for him but he's nowhere to be found. Then I saw the look on one of the security guys face and knew that I'm already a suspect with intent to lure baba and take his cash! That baba agreed to the ploy got me thinking.

1. Is it the case that at the late end they thought I and the dude acted it all up to lure baba and take his cash?

2.Do they think I was the bad guy?

I learnt some hard lessons today.

That's some experience. I find that because of where we've been coming from Nigerians are full of fear, which has held back so many from what they should do or say. The state of the nation is as a result of that fear as some look to manipulation to get their way. Never has there been a greater need for change as now because it won't get any better without deliberate efforts to change and help others do so as well. Gladly, more people are beginning to see the need. Many only still do have problems with getting along which is pretty normal.

Truly our problems can't be solved by simply talking about it BUT every great plan starts with a discussion.

Share how you have been stepping up, please

I'm on a move to help people achieve their goals and objectives with a purpose to help them become leaders and nation builders. I will lend my voice to the federation any chance I get. Discussion helps to assess a plan but sometimes it prevents action. When everyone have started to do something, it can only be a motivation for discussions.

You can totally get messed up trying to please everyone you know? Mathematically, it is improbable to please everyone.

Maybe it's the word we use that makes it sound a bit off. What I'm saying is be good to everyone. Not entirely for anyone's sake but yours.

They don't need to do so, they'd be better off standing with like minds. It's better to stand alone than with the majority facing the wrong direction. I can mention many people who didn't go to school but those who did don't only wanna stand with them, but work for them as well. The only exception for school is if they'd rather be doctors or engineers.

If by others you mean everybody I disagree. I think a greater state of peace and joy lies in pleasing oneself.

My point exactly, pleasure through pleasing others, everyone is pleased and so is the Creator. After all our Lord says "whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me."

The funny side is once you get tired trying to please everyone they move on and you are left with a pitiable YOU.

It is okay to be selfish and live your life.

The difference lies in who you're trying to please they, yourself or your Creator. When you find pleasure in pleasing others, then you have found a state of peace and joy.

Brother, read the comment below. I was hoping for such an answer.

I believe that will be enough. Most people would have given me an answer like the one above.

The truth is we don't have much. Most people try to avoid that fact and it is impossible to solve a problem without first identifying it's source and accepting the situation as it is. Until we, the youth, are in power there is little we can do as regards implementation of good policies, accountability, integrity etc, which are lacking, from the government.

However, what we have is enough. The few open minds available as well as the ears of the "fraction" of the Nigerian youths are good for a start. Uniting these people under one cause should be the next step because most of these people are on their own. Many times when I meet enlightened Nigerians who understand the true situation of the country and are motivated to make a change, they always seem delighted to meet a like mind simply because it is often rare to come across such people.

The people with great potential are scattered across the nation and like the proverbial broom, we are divided. We need to first unite everyone one under one movement. A movement that is built on trust, integrity, accountability where no ONE MAN is above the rules and with a clearly thought through vision as to what should be achieved.

Dubai was developed by people who had the vision and the will. And financial power, of course. And it used to be a desert. undecided

Nigeria is still in it's crude form and only needs to be properly refined to reach it's potential.

There's a need for the solution for the root cause, without which we can only succeed to debate the general problem over and over again. Like the other poster said after restating problems we all should have known for some time now, "he spends almost all of his time figuring it out." At this juncture the answer to that question is what can I do right now towards the greater goal and this answer can only be found inwards, not from the government, the youths or the few open minds. When you find that answer, only then can you procreate more from it through a rubbing of open minds. We all have a part to play.

When I tell some people my desire is to change the world, they wonder how I could do so. Tell me though, is it not more difficult to change who I am?
Yes it definitely is, for when you are able to change who you are to who you are meant to be, it's easier to see the need to change the world as well as become capable of doing so.

Can someone tell me the difference between appreciation and gratitude? They sound synonymous to me.

Well they do seem synonymous but to me gratitude is more intense. Appreciation can be a simple feeling of admiration that naturally occurs when before something good like a favour or something you like. However gratitude is a deeper feeling of appreciation, and attitude that has to be consciously put up to attract more. It's a vibration that attracts more of the good things you're grateful for.
