Change my identity? Hw do I do dat?

You know we are mostly what we think of ourselves. In your case, you think of yourself in regards to your bad sides and focus more on your difficulties. You need a belief system, you need to believe in something and most of all you need to believe in yourself. Once you can change the way you identify yourself, you're well on your way to greater things.

Logic can be stupid most times. Wisdom comes from God and it's found in His words. You only need His guidance through the Holy Spirit to understand. That's not just any book my friend.

Only foolish and doomed people don't go to church.

God is Christianity
Jesus Christ is God

God is not Christianity, God is God. Christianity is not a title or a position, it is an act, an attitude. Don't be misled to think that church is salvation because many churches won't be standing on the last day for they would have submitted to the evil one. Only the universal church of Jesus Christ would stand and that church is not a building made by man. Learn to love, for love is the most important thing in life and even in death.

Islam for Muslims / Re: If The Qur'an Is True, Then Islam Is False by bare1(m): 2:50pm On Aug 15, 2015
OLAADEGBU:

Since the god of the Qur'an is different from the God of the Bible and Isa of the Qur'an is different from Jesus of the Bible, how can you say Jesus Christ was a Muslim considering the fact that Islam only started about 600 years after the ascension of Christ?

As I said earlier that Jesus, the Son of God is different from Isa of the Qur'an who is not the son of allah and if you insist that Muhammad is the comforter to 'carry on the Teacher's work' how come Muhammad instead of giving life came to kill, steal and destroy?

Only a mad man will trust the unreliable denials of Muhammad over eyewitnesses accounts of the disciples of Christ.

They only doubted Jesus' death and resurrection because they were unbelievers and operating under the spirit of the antichrist. Listen and read how the Lord Jesus Christ rebuked the spirit of the antichrist when Peter allow himself to be used to prevent Jesus from dying on the Cross. If you allow yourself to be used by satan to deny Christ's death and resurrection the Jesus equally rebukes you.

"But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men" (Matthew 16:23).

We don't need to go far to ascertain who is telling the truth. Jesus said, 'By their fruits you shall know them' What was Muhammad's fruit? Stealing, killing and destroying as portrayed by true Muslims who come in the form of ISIS.

Do you believe the saying of our Lord Jesus that He is the way, the truth and the life? If not why do deceive yourselves calling Him your prophet?

You sound more confused than I thought. undecided

You can only get peace from the Prince of Peace. smiley

You're the confused one. I don't know if you're agreeing to what I write or contradicting it. All the same read it again without sentiments and redirect your responses to whoever you're arguing with. I am not here to condemn anyone but to proclaim Jesus Christ is LORD.

This dude has issues only him can understand. I wouldn't even try to trash issues with him. When someone curses so freely and so frequently, then something is wrong. If only more Africans can channel all that intelligence into action, the results would be amazing.
Islam for Muslims / Re: If The Qur'an Is True, Then Islam Is False by bare1(m): 4:44am On Aug 15, 2015
Many who claim to be Muslims and Christians do not read the Scriptures and just speak based on what they've been told. Muslim I believe means submitting to the will of God and Christian means Christlike, that can also be said to be submitting to the will of God, so in the real sense they both mean the same. Obviously they do and aren't just titles but an act or attitude. Hence the reason Muslims believe Jesus to be Muslim.

However, analyzing and understanding the Scripture properly would tell you that it's more a human error for the belief that Jesus isn't the son of God. When Jesus left the disciples, He promised them a helper, a comforter which came to them in the Holy Spirit, giving them power to heal and carry on the Teacher's work. This helper Muslims believe to be the Prophet Muhammad who some hold in higher esteem than Jesus since they believe he was the one sent after the Messiah.

Now the question is if you choose to go by what Muslims believe as to Jesus not dying on the cross, wouldn't you think that you're getting second hand information compared to the Gospel which tells of the life and teachings of Jesus?
I understand that they regarded Jesus high enough to doubt His death because of the works and testimonies that proved Him to be different from all other prophets that the Prophet Isaiah foretold His coming, so it's very possible that they doubted for mere reasons that in all His greatness, Jesus couldn't have been killed by mere men. And also because of the high regard they seem to equally regard Prophet Muhammad as high believing he was the one promised the disciples by Jesus.

Clearly for human error, some groups might have come to take the Prophet's word as superior but do those people get the message of the helper promised more than those promised by Jesus? No way because just like in today's media, the press cannot give a more detailed report of the meeting of our President when he's having a closed door meeting than the attendees of that meeting.

Jesus Christ is the Gospel sent by our Father in Heaven as He proclaimed when He said He is the way, the truth and the life, and that's why the Gospels by Mathew, Mark, Luke and John is entirely about the life and teachings of Jesus, and you cannot tell me that two of the twelve couldn't account correctly the life of Jesus and yet John the beloved was kept alive when others were killed, for him to write the revelation of things to come.

Well the Bible has said it all, even things happening before our eyes have been revealed by a book that's existed for over 2000 years. And as the word of God changes not, I urge people to take Scripture more seriously as it is our life handbook to guide us. Even the keys to success lies in the Bible, many motivational authors/speakers and successful people get their inspiration from it. The most important thing though is to embrace the way, the truth and the life, for no one goes to the Father but through Him. We are all children of God but He is the son of God, the only begotten son. And come what may, regardless of our religious affiliation - be Christian or Muslim, Jew of Gentile - the children of God's kingdom would be those who are part of the universal church, Jesus Christ - whether you're Catholic or Anglican or Protestant would not matter.

Peace be unto you all.

Reading requires a lot of patience and discipline, and most of us don't want to pay that sacrifice.

Whatever the case, we have the sky for our in its whenever we change our habits.

Awesome piece Sir. In addition, please may I add that one big problem we suffer is to speak and speak. We talk about who does what, which politician can do this or that, what government is doing or isn't doing, etc. We complain all day, all week, all year round about the situations and people around us but we leave out the most important person we should blame, OURSELVES. Yes the only person you can blame for your predicament is YOU. If you do not realise that you have a problem, everyone you come across would be either mad, stingy, wicked or bad. Even when you fortunately meet that helper you have been seeking to come and take away all your troubles, you just might end up having a problem with them. That is because a successful man would not help a person that has got problems with themselves. They say successful people are stingy and all sorts of things, but honestly, they are just wise enough not to waste resources on a nuisance.

That is the reason people need to spend real time wasted on destroying themselves to actually reconstruct themselves. To do this, they need to start spending more time alone and asking themselves critical questions like how is it that some people are very successful and happy and many others are not. They need to ask themselves how they can become a part of those few people. Trust me, the moment you start to ask yourselves critical questions, you will find your life changing gradually while seeking answers to those questions.

People who had hit rock bottom in their lives and even attempted suicide due to frustration have been able to stand up, ask themselves why, and start to turn their lives around to become successful, happy, wealthy people. The answer lies in the MINDSET.
Even though many would not find this thread useful, I'm glad that as always a few would, and from this moment set a new course for their lives. Kudos to you OP smiley

14 You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Dear Nairalanders, A friend of mine aged over 60 years. AN ACCOUNTANT by profession has gotten a three month visa to USA and would want me to advise him on what he could do over there to keep busy including any legitimate skill/s acquisition and possibly earn some part-time income over there. And suggest any possible contacts that could be of use to him while over there and when he eventually returns back home.

Well being over 60 years, I believe he should be more inclined into mental activities than physical ones. Therefore I can only suggest rather than do something to earn money, why not seek to gain something. He's going closer to retirement and now could be a great time for him to look back at previous years for a bit and analyse how far he has come, and if he seeks more in life, he can pursue a life coaching course over there. By the time he does, he can start to see careers he can pursue that doesn't take more than a lifestyle. Being a motivational speaker or life coach doesn't require an age bracket or physical hard work, so it's something he can do freely as well as earn a six figure income if he so desires.

Good morning all.

I read an article on procrastination yesterday. And after doing so, I got some moments mediating on it. Actually the author did a great job. Procrastination is a killer of dreams, fulfilment and happiness. No one ever gets happy knowing they've not done what they should have done. It often leads to disappointment, fear and depression. If we don't have the habit of DO IT NOW, we certainly won't achieve much in life.

And I was able to conclude that people hardly postpone irrelevant things; they only postpone relevant things that need their action and attention. And our success depends on doing those relevant things we procrastinate. That's the absurdity.

Absolutely Sir...it can be difficult to achieve, but that's the essence of always associating with people who would influence and motivate you to do the things you need to do. It's almost so natural that the more you mingle with people who aren't concerned about how they live and would rather just live by default, the farther you are from embarking on your journey to change because whenever you take a step forward, you're actually taking two steps back. Personal development is a lifestyle and so you have to live it everyday to actually achieve it.

Good morning pals. It's so nice to come on here to see inspiring quotes from youths like me. It feels good to know that there's an increase in the number of people who see need for self-development. However I do hope that alongside the words, you are all really taking action to find that change which you desire. It's one thing to read books and quote writers, but it's another thing to get up and take actions that would really change our hearts and minds, all to our benefit and those around us.

I've been trying to get a section on NL for personal development but with no luck, and so I cannot stop at that as I do have so many people to reach out to, hence the reason for the 'empowered for freedom' movement.
We should be playing on a bigger field to really find that change we so desire and even though I've come a long way, I still have an even longer way to go.

As a result of this I have to limit my time on NL to focus on helping people who do so desire the same things as I do. If anything I've learnt is that our priorities determine the rate of success in life, and to grow is my top priority.
Our Facebook group 'empowered for freedom' is open to all and I urge those who really seek to take action to change themselves to join the group where together we can have a greater impact.

Have a blessed day!

What a great piece. Kudos OP for this one. Unfortunately personal development isn't being given adequate attention - not here and anywhere else. Only those who have close encounters with situations warranting personal development or those that have started their journey to change truly know the essence and need for self-development. I have tried to get personal development as a section on here which it really does deserve but all to no luck. It's not stopping me though as I have bigger plans to keep going. Kudos to you once more.

No sir. I'm just developing myself and learning a lot .

Why?

Well coaching programs do support people in the development of themselves. Many times we need guidance to effective development because we are usually bound to stray from learning the essential things we need and go on to other stuff. It's a lot more difficult learning on our own.

I tell people that even though it's good to have an idea of several subjects when it comes to business, in life there are so many other subjects which we are not to concern ourselves with to enable us focus more on the crucial stuff.
Besides I believe you would make a fine coach yourself, therefore helping many people with what they want, and as such getting what you want as well.
