Apparently Eguavoen is in Ikenne to watch Remo vs Rivers with the 2 most in-form goalkeepers in Victor Sochima and Kayode Bankole on show. Hopefully this is the start to the end of Okoye and Uzoho monkey business.

I think with respect to video analysis, I do not know much about how in-depth Dr. Terry is but I believe he is sound enough for that. Joseph Yobo seems the one handling physical fitness, he is highly exposed to high-quality physical coaching and I think he is good enough for the job.
As for Agu, I think his time is up. We need fresh ideas in that department and I think someone indigenous will best suit due to the need of carrying out thorough scouting locally. I forgot Dr Terry. He appears to be in that sort of video analyst mode. What I meant about a physical trainer is a tested physio. I saw our player eating egusi and poundo on snapchat. Ordinarily, they should be on strictly monitored diet. The world of physio have evolved past being an ex international qualified you as a physio. The morden physios work with a lot of data driven analysis to get players to their peak, Yobo is not fit for this purpose, at best he can assist a real physio. Cameroun for my money are the best preforming team in this tournament. Their physical condition is unmatched by any team I have seen so far. |

We need to replace our GK trasiners
It's obvious they are not doing thir jobs
They are just colecting salary and egunje
It's their job to scout and recommend GKs to the Senior National Team
But no....sometimes it beats me why we can't just get rid of mediocre officials in all strata of the Nigerian Society Aloy Agu lacks the locus to continue as the goalkeepers trainer if he couldn't sort out the position in 6years. He is banking on Okoye to come good at Watford. We all know he will be demystified in England and when it happens he would be their 3rd or 4th choice GK. |

When you think of Atlanta 96 squad, having Emmanuel Babayaro, Abiodun Baruwa, and Joseph Dosu. To me, personal choice, Dosu was even the weakest.
Abiodun Baruwa was the best penalty keeper I ever saw. He was so good at close range. Then now, it looks like if we can not find good keepers for the country and it has gone on for too long. I remember Ike Shorunmu, I think against Germany was mind-blowing. Save after save.
Now we get frightened when a test come for keepers. I hope this get sorted out soon. If Eguavoen should be made substansive, it is best he gets a foreign assistant in areas of physical trainer, video analyst and goalkeeping coach. The rest of his back room can be Nigerians. Aloy Agu shouldn't be left to continue if he couldn't sort out the goalkeeping position in 6years. |

Danielnino00: Some folks are even clamoring for Arthur Okonkwo..lol... I can agree that we may not find enough quality outfield players in our league due to the crude nature of play there, but the same can't be said of goalkeepers. After Cameroon, I can't think of any other African country that has ever produced better goalkeepers than us.. Shorunmu, Rufai, Dosu, Enyeama, Ejide and even Dele Aiyebugba were good goalies... The current crisis we are experiencing in the goalkeeping department is simply due to the nonchalant attitude of Alloy Agu and whoever are working with him... Sometimes,it doesn't matter how well a team plays...a bad goalkeeper can make all the difference.. Arthur Okonkwo looks talented and to be honest much more talented than Uzoho and Okoye but he needs to play first team football not reserve league. Hopefully he goes on loan next season as Arsenal are getting a 2nd choice GK from MLS. At the home front, I don't think Rohr was properly briefed on the goalkeeping potentials back in the league. Ezenwa at a point was 2nd choice for his club but top class for the Super Eagles. A top rated goalkeeper like Afelokai has been displaced by a young Sochima at Rivers Utd. That's the kind of potential we have in that position. What these guys truly need is exposure and proper conditioning. Our Olympics and U20 teams have always had goalkeepers from home and they never failed us at any tournament with errors to the levels we have seen with Uzoho and Okoye. |

TheGoodJoe:
If Eguavoen continues, he needs to make a hard choice. I know Alloy Agu used to be a teammate, and number one goalkeeping choice at one time with the Super Eagles, however, goalkeepers make or break teams.
Sometimes, I wonder what would have been of Mancini at Manchester City, if he did not have Joe Hart performing at that level.
Eguavoen needs to know we need a goalkeeper coach that will work with the team scouts to find three high-grade keepers. They must not come from clubs in Europe or America. They could come from the local leagues. We should scout academies in Europe and locally.
Donnarumma was 16 years old when he made his debut for AC Milan. So the spread should be wide.
Eguavoen needs to insist on this, three to five names. If indigenous, they can start camping locally earlier than when the squad arrives but we need to treat the goalkeeping role seriously if we are to achieve something from this generation of footballers. Your last paragraph says it all. I find it insulting if I was told Okoye and Uzoho are the best talented goalkeepers out there. The chase for already made have spoilt the managers of super eagles and turned them lazy. They are waiting to be told a goalkeeper appeared out of nowhere to play for Sevilla. Automatically, he is invited and installed as Nigeria's number 1. The hard part of scouting and coaching is not in their books. This what landed us Uzoho, while Rohr didn't trust our talents back home to the extent he went down to German 4th division to get Okoye who wasn't even number 1 in his team. Okoye only became number 1 in his kickabout German team after he was called up to the Super Eagles and played against Brazil. Imagine if we had invested the resources spent on Okoye to 2 talented boys from home, gave them same level of exposure through friendlies and qualifiers, we won't be dead in that position as we are now. |

Now you are talking with respect to the point raised. That is what I am drawing your attention to. He talked about playing style and you talked about goals. The first thing you compare strikers with are goals before looking at other things. Alvaro Morata would have been classified as world class and potential Balon dor contender if strikers weren't judged on goals. |

drDoom3: Osimhen is better.
Remember, Osimhen didn't finish his season at Lille because of COVID. Lille played only 28 games out of 38. That was his first and only season. He scored 13 goals with 5 assists in 27 games, finishing as the 4th highest goalscorer in the entire league.
David has been at Lille for two seasons. His first season was when Lille won Ligue 1. David had the same 13 goals, but with 3 assists and across 37 games. That's 10 more games to get similar stats. In fact, Lille's highest goalscorer Yilmaz had only 16 goals in the entire season. Technically, Victor performed better in 3/4th of a season in his first season at Lille than David did in his full first season. That's pure stats, not even going to off the ball stuff like pressures, aerial duels won, hold up play etc. Jonathan David wasn't the main striker last season. Thank God you mention Burak Yilmaz who was the main striker while Jonathan was the second striker and evn played in midfield at times till this season, when Jonathan played ahead of Yimaz. We can roll back the years to their time in Belgium where Jonathan David (23) recorded more goals in Belgium than Osimhen(20). So when you say Osimhen is better, I want to know the metric used to assess and find him better. |

kingphilip: Just to tell you that the bold is not entirely correct.
The season wasn't completed so you can't call it the season as if it is the entire season. If you go about it that way, Jonathan David currently has the same goal and assists as Osimhen at the same point the season Osimhen played. So how is Osimhen better than him? |

You clearly missed the point. You are talking about goals but there is more to a striker than goals. Starboytwo is clearly talking of playing style and you are talking of goals.
He feels Osimhen offers more in play than Jonathan David after watching both players. Even in playing style, Jonathan David is a renound team player, he fights for the team. He has about 5 assits this season and he is ambidextrous. The only 2 footed player I have seen since Santi Carzola. So what playing style are you really talking about? |

Starboytwo: hmmm, well, do you know something, I actually thought about something recently, I was reading transfer rumors the other day and I saw Jonathan David, the guy Lille bought as replacement for osihmen and was linked to a few top clubs, I already seen his football and comparably osihmen trumps him, however he is highly rated by the media and I know cuz he’s Canadian, Anyways.
1-Definitely Napoli will ask above 100 million
Although, your number 2 assertion is not wrong, but I believe consistent top class performance from him which I expect barring any “mumu” injury crisis will make at least EPL clubs to grab him. Added the advantage of insigne and Mertens imminent departures, the mantle of scoring goals automatically fall on him. If na goal, any type, leg, head, shot, 1 on 1 I trust osihmen.
I might also add the fact that, generally, African strikers tend to blow in Europe than any other departments. Nobody will ignore a 23-25 year old Tall, clinical, powerful and fast goal scorer. Etoo, drogba are legends.
About koulibaly, well I don’t know why the guy no comot for there since, maybe age factor, who gonna pay 100 mill for a 29 year old black man from Senegal, but the guy better pass maguire 80 million….
I hope osihmen cross over to the EPL in a season or two ASAP, he can comfortably cut it at west ham, Everton, Aston villa etc even at this erratic form, not to talk of top form. Kindly check Osihmen’s form and movement pre injury. Out of curiosity, what really makes you think Osimhen is better than Jonathan David? He replaced Osimhen in Lille and helped them win Ligue 1 last season. Currently he is the top goal scorer in the French league with 13 goals half way through the season. The same number of goals Osimhen scored the season he was sold. What exactly sets Osimhen apart from him? I think we over estimate our players so much to the detriment of the competition, it's almost disrespectful at times. |

Every operation has its rules of engagement. You don't go commando style arrest in a controlled environment like a university. The school has its security system, the proper thing to do will be to blend into the school environment and work with school security in a sting operation to sniff out the bad boys. Going on a free range, gustapo styled, bang bang arrest, you will end up demystified by these lads. |

Of course they are the hot favorites and they hardly disappoint if they get to the finals. They win almost every finals they play. I installed them as favorites after their first game seeing their ruthless power and atheltism but some patriotic posters here singled out the super eagles. |

TheLoneCitizen: 100 percent downgrade.
Champions league is a minimum requirement for any Napoli manager, title is the goal.
Qualifying for Europe is the goal for Arteta, Champions League is a plus. Title is a dream. See capping. Napoli has won just 2 Seria A titles while Arsenal has 14 Epl. The last Epl Arsenal won was in 2005,while the last Seria A in Napoli's name was during Maradona's Era. In addition, Arsenal is the most successful team in the FA cup with 14 of those while Napoli have just 6 Coppa Italians. So, yeah you're correct, Title is the goal for Napoli while it's a dream for Arsenal. Yeye |

Napoli hasn't even finish paying for Osimhen. They're still owing half of the £74 million. Lol. They're still paying for the signing made 18 months ago. Let's just see how it goes tho. Napoli never paid £74M for Osimhen. According to investigation, Napoli did not pay above €40m.
