On October 24, 2011, the world is going to be reminded of Nigeria's failure
to provide adequate and uninterrupted electricity to its over 150 million people
despite the country's enviable position as Africa's oil giant and a major exporter
of crude oil to the United States.

At the beginning of February 2011, a group of Nigerians functioning under umbrella
of Let There be Light In Nigeria Project Group, came together to organize a peaceful
simultaneous march in major cities around the world to call attention to this basic,
fundamental, inalienable and democratic right of a civilized society,

Lack of Electricity in Nigeria =

Non existing manufacturing sector
Joblessness
Substandard Healthcare Facilities
Poverty
Armed Robbery
Lack of infrastructure
Average age life expectancy of 48yrs
Lack of Security and many more,

There is no nation on earth, that has subjected its people to such an enormous
waste of talent and potential than the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Collectively, we are the custodians, keepers, and protectors of a country that is
yet to live up to its promise.

We are no longer going to settle for a country, that continues to explore and
define its identity in darkness.

The entire population of about 150 million uses, as much power grid as the area
around Narita airport in Tokyo. South Africans consume 55 times more energy per head
and Americans 100 times more" (The Economist - October 21, 2010).

Resolving the issue of lack of electricity in Nigeria should be

PRIORITY ONE!!

No I was not joking.I have never heard Boko Haram claim they are fighting Southerners nor have I heard of them targeting Southerners.Everything they have done remains in the North mostly against Government interest.

The so-called MEND are non-entities consisting mostly of people that want to stay alive and enjoy oil money while Boko Haram consists of those willing to fight to death or die along with their target because they feel persecuted for their religious belief.I am therefore not feeling secure with MEND fighting for money challenging people who believe they are fighting for God.Nobody has ever won such a war.

History is there for everyone to see right from when They tried to end Christianity, rise of Mohamed,Rise of Al qaeda and lots more.It is only peace that can solve such religious problem.
I respect the Niger Delta Militants as a ruthless gang whose terror actually caught the attention of the government, but this is where they messed up, they were more interested in the money than in any real true cause. They fought hard with the Military in the creeks, attacked oil installations but thats just it. Wth the exception of the Oct 1st bombing of 2010, they really didnt create much damage. PLUS they surrendered arms and ammunitions in exchange for money,

Now these Boko boys are on a different high. They are motivated by religion, have no real cause they are fighting for, have attacked two high profile government building that caused maximum damage, have detonated bombs inside over 3 military bases, refuse to negociate, killed the first man who attempted to negociate a truce with government and the one big edge they have over Niger Delta boys is they have no regard for even their own lives.

The ultimatum given by the Niger Delta boys is laughable because they really do not have the capacity to carry out any major assault on Northern settlements in the region cos they have been mostly disarmed. The Boko boys on the other hand are still very active and have proven that their own strikes carry more weight. The only problem I forsee is that should the Niger Delta boys actually carry out their threat, the retaliatory attacks would not be on Niger Delta indigenes but rather Eastern traders who ply their trade in the North and that would just start a sh.it storm of events that would definitely spiral outta control because the Igbos are always looking for an opportuinity to yell genocide.
It was all hype! The military couldn't hold them because of the high level of corruption
and exchange of cash among st them.

The JTF soldiers were has guilty as the MEND boys! The soldiers were involved in the bunkering activities
going on there. They were also getting heavily paid by multinationals for some so- called protection. The
government gave those MEND boys too much space!

Back then, soldiers wanted to be posted to the south-south because the ground was some kind of a get-rich
quick scheme. A soldier friend of mine who recently returned from a Sudan mission testified this to me.

He told me they were bribing their bosses to get their names on the JTF posting list.

Unfortunately, just like Jos-the soldiers wey dey Maiduguri presently dey vexxx cos their nuttin to gain there!

Little wonder they are maiming even the innocents!
PoliticsMan Poses As Ex-ig Mike Okiro by baslone(op): 12:25pm On Oct 17, 2011
Charles Ebuzoma, an indigene of Okwani West, Delta State, has been into
impersonation and other fraudulent acts for over a year. The 32-year old
dealer in Italian shoes thought this was the path to riches without stress.

But he was mistaken.

Recently, Ebuzoma was paraded by the Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad for
impersonating former Inspector-General of Police, Sir Mike Mbama Okiro. He
claimed it was his deceased friend named Innocent that brought him into the
world of impersonation.

He credited Innocent with helping him to get the phone numbers of prominent
Nigerians, including senators and ex-governors. His mode of operation is novel.
Using different SIM cards, he sent text messages to them and asked for one
favour or the other, after introducing himself as IG, Okiro.

Among the people he demanded money from were Senators Oluremi Tinubu, Bukola
Saraki, ex-speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, ex-Governor
Depreye Solomon Alamiyeseigha, and some other important people.

According to Ebuzoma, through some of the federal lawmakers whose phone numbers
he had, he got the contacts of other prominent people in the country.

In a text message he sent to Oluremi Tinubu he wrote “Hope you are doing well, Insha
Allah. Please. kindly text contact of Ambassador Musiliu Obanikoro and forward two names
for Cadet ASP and must possess 1st degree. Pls. my regard. I.G POL Mike Okiro rtd.”

He wrote to Senator Sulaiman: “My distinguished Sen. Adokwe very sorry, missed your
calls. Am with a guest please bear with me. Hope you got my message? Thank you. IGPol
Mike Okiro rtd.”

After his arrest, he claimed hard times pushed him into crime and bad company and
regretted impersonating ex-IG, Okiro.

Throwing some light on the suspected fraudster’s arrest, Mr. Abba Kyari of the The
Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad, stated that S.P Abubakar Yakubu, Commander of
Mobile Police 22, Ikeja Lagos, facilitated Ebuzoma’s arrest. Ebuzoma had sent some
text messages and placed a call to Abubakar to help him financially, and a usual,
introduced himself as Sir Okiro.

He dropped the bank account number of his ‘‘secretary,’’ Katherine Ofereka, and
requested that the money be deposited therein.

Abubakar, not believing that it was Okiro asking him for money, decided to play along,
to be sure. Ofereka was arrested. She claimed that she knew “nothing about the fraud
or impersonation, but when I heard Charles’ name I took them to where he lives in Abuja.”

Ebuzoma was nabbed by a 5-man SARS team in Abuja.

Asked why she gave her ATM card and bank account freely to be used by Ebuzoma, Ofereka
responded that the accused person lied to her that he was into Oil and Gas business. She added:
“He had my ATM card and bank account since he sold his red car and wanted to deposit the money
in my bank account. He collected my ATM card. After we parted ways he called me one Saturday
morning that anytime I am called for an interview in a bank I shouldn’t go. He said my bank was no
longer safe for me and threatened to kill me.”

Reacting, Ebuzoma said he used her as a pawn. He added: “I had to think of a way to avoid
being caught by the police. I decided to use her bank account and ATM card without her knowledge
and consent. I wanted her to be held responsible for the act.”

A distraught Katherine advised women to be mindful of men they relate with and seek God’s
intervention and grace at all times.
