Politics / Re: Timi Frank Urges NLC, TUC To Reject Less Than N250k Minimum Wage by basseeafricana: 3:59pm On Jun 07
jude79:
Toh!! Nagoode!!
This is what i've been posting for days, APC is the most wicked party on earth

Minimum wage under jonathan, #18000
Bag of rice under jonathan, #7000

Minimum wage under tinubu, #30000
Bag of rice under tinubu, #85000

Lets do the maths
Since bag of rice is constant, #7000 under jonathan is equivalent to #85000 under tinubu

To determine the value of jonathans minimum wage in tinubus era gives

18000/7000= 2.57143
Recall that every #7000 under jonathan is equivalent to #85000 under tinubu

: . 2.57143 x 85000 = #218,571

So nairalanders
If jonathan of PDP were in charge of nigeria today minimum wage will have been equivalent of #218,571

Labour should endeavour to peg their negotiation to #250000, to accomodate tinubus APC induced inflation
FIXED
#60000 they are proposing is equivalebt to
60000/85000 x 7000 which gives #4941, wicked apc

TINUBUU vs JONATHAN challenge;
If clueless jonathan can pay it, then technocrat tinubu can pay it.
The worst thing that happened to Nigeria is APC.

Nigerians are not so daft that they would see fire and jump inside. After Buhari, most Nigerians had decided to avoid another disaster but INEC plunged the country into mourning with a man ten times worse than Buhari. Which disaster is worse than Tinubu's government? Thank God what affects the nose, affects the eyes. Those lying up and down defending a monumental failure are already getting tired.
It is only God that can remove this ugly man for us in 2027. Nigeria is in a great mess and this clueless man doesn't care about us at all

Nigeria can't afford to fight two wars on different fronts. These boys should be in the north securing the country, every single political and terror problems in the south is something dialogue and slight change of policies can handle.
If you doubt me ask Yaradu'a how he solved militancy problems.
Nigeria is not finished. This is happening because of Ipob over aggressiveness. It is not only ipob that is looking for secession, others also want to move away from Nigeria. Ipob is taking everything too far by killing anyhow. Solders suppose to descend heavily on that area, what nonsense!

Politics / Re: Opinion: Why President Tinubu Hasn't Approved Minimum Wage Increase Yet by basseeafricana: 12:03am On Apr 15
TheRealestGuy:
This is a personal opinion first off.

I have lived long enough as a Nigerian to understand that Nigerian politicians are a mostly a vile set of humans who can play politics with anything including terrorism and human lives.

I am of the view that the simple reason why the minimum wage increase is yet to be effected is the same reason I mentioned above - politics.

I think what the current administration plans to do is delay any minimum wage increases until 2026, so they can use it as leverage for the 2027 elections.

We have a criminal mafia in charge now and I understand how they think.

They will throw crumbs at Nigerian workers in 2026 in the name of an interim wage increase, make fake promises for when they are re-elected, and then leverage the desperation at that point.

You can bookmark this post and we will review by 2026 and you will see how accurate it is.

If this is not the height of evil then I don't know what is.

Nigerian politicians only scheme and plot how to win elections and corner our common wealth. The welfare of the people is the least of their concern and they will use every weapon including terrorism, hunger and extreme poverty to win elections.

I hope Nigerians wise up and resist this when the time comes.

Whatever Tinubu does, he is loosing 2027 election.

Don't mind them. Any sane person knows that the election was rigged. I don't even need any court to prove it. But it is funny how those that keep crying that Nigei6 is not moving forward keep supporting things like election rigging just because it favours them at that point.
Some people's comments do not worth response. Are u saying that it was only Ododo that rigged? Muri Ajaka did not rigged in the areas he had upper hand? All the politicians are criminals, we are not from Kogi but we saw how SDP machineries killed those that resisted them in Igala side. APC also did the same in Okene where they had upper hand. Forget sentiments, all of them are riggers!

Tinubu which claimed to be political strategist and a first class graduate of Chicago State University has suddenly become mumu. 16 APC members were declared as right winners by the court but some idiots refused them access. Though I hate APC with everything, but this should not have happened if Tinubu is okay and well.

Governors elected on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have advised President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to resign over the state of the nation if they cannot provide sustainable solutions.

The opposition governors said the buck ultimately stops at Tinubu’s table as the ‘chief executive officer’ of Nigeria, the President and commander in chief of the Armed Forces of the Federation, the chief salesman and leader of Nigeria.

The governors, under the aegis of the PDP Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF), said the hardship and suffering being experienced by Nigerians have no tribal, religious or party colouration, adding that APC sought power to solve Nigeria’s problems not to compound them or shift blame, or grandstand or use propaganda to confuse the issues.

The PDP-GF made the fresh call in a statement signed by its director-general, Hon. CID Maduabum, on Saturday as a response to the minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who lampooned the PDP governors for earlier comparing Nigeria to Venezuela over the state of the country.

MisterGrace:
Benin, Edo State - In a significant political development, Rep. Dennis Idahosa (APC-Edo) has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination for the upcoming governorship election in Edo State, slated for September 21. The announcement was made by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who serves as the chairman of the APC Edo governorship primary election committee, following the conclusion of the primary election this Saturday in Benin.

Governor Uzodimma revealed that Mr. Idahosa garnered a total of 40,448 votes, thereby outpacing eight other contenders in a competitive race for the party's ticket. This victory sets the stage for Rep. Idahosa to represent the APC in the eagerly anticipated gubernatorial contest.

The primary election, characterized by its transparency and orderly conduct, marks a pivotal moment for the APC in Edo State. With Rep. Idahosa now leading the charge, the party looks forward to a robust campaign aimed at securing the governorship seat.

This development also underscores the democratic processes within the APC, as party members rallied to select their candidate through a fair and open election. Rep. Idahosa's win not only signifies the confidence and trust placed in him by the APC members but also positions him as a key figure in the upcoming electoral battle in Edo State.

Zetra7:
Closely watch the first few minutes of the clip, you will notice Tinubu descending from the presidential plane while the Ethiopian welcoming official asked a Nigeria official if that man descending is Nigeria President.

Jokes apart, Nigerians should wake up from slumber. Tinubu seems to have become more older or sick if I may say. I don't understand holding power while one can retire in peace and focus on their wellbeing.

Same scenario with the late Ondo state governor and even late President Yaradua.

The Ethiopia official will probably be wondering how the hell does this man represent Nigeria.

What is even wrong with us as a Nation? It would have been much better if Seyi Tinubu is the president.

For those who don't know, TV camera makes one bigger, now if Tinubu is so frail in videos, imagine seeing him in real life..

You're probably shaking a skeleton. I mean no disrespect but what exactly do you think goes in the minds of other leaders when they see a very frail man representing a whole big Nation.

Just watch Tinubu in this video..

A very good example is the salary award promised to workers 35k,pension 25k since he promised this he has only paid workers 2times pensioners nothing, meanwhile it is his policies that has devalued peoples income and thereby making them poorer,he deceived the labour union with announcements of the award he does not intend to fulfil because the people mean nothing to him,but he was quick to buy 160million naira vehicles for each national assembly members without delay, billions in renovation without delay, humongous allowances for legislators and ministers without delay, approve 500m for inauguration of wage committe he will not implement its report, wastages and corruption everywhere but anything that can give people some respite will have to take backstage,is that how a leader behaves
Tinubu as a leader is wicked, insensitive, callous and selfish.

Wike needs no introduction, he is a spartacus extraordinaire. The most powerful minister who derives his authority directly from Mr.President. He's in charge of the FCT where all security and command centers are domiciled. Wike walks in and out of the office the Chief Of Staff. dine and wine together at leisure, he also receives and hosts foreign diplomats on the behalf of the President. Wike has once again proved to be a political strategist, guess he's learning fast from Jagaban. The defection of 27 loyal lawmakers was a perfect strategy to keep Fubara in check. Wherever Fubara goes whether APC or remaining in PDP, he meets Wike right there. If he defect to LP, he's finished!. The situation of Fubara is quite different from that of Obaseki, Obaseki got away because Oshiomole at the time had become ordinary, stripped off his powers and return back to his village in Edo. That heiped Obaseki scaled smoothly but with Wike, the seat is currently very hot on Fubara's ass.
PREDICTION- Wike wins, Fubara loses.
To add to your analysis. Oshomonle issue happened because Buhari had a soft mind and only care for himself. Wike is a son of lion (Tinubu). Next election in Rivers must be blooded because Wike does not care about blood. Last time when trouble started at Rivers 's House, you saw the way security rough handled Fabura.

To me this is an indication that Wike and his group in Abuja are planning to bring in an APC governor through the court. Wike and his men probably must have struck a deal with Tonye Cole. Fubara should be careful.

Tinubu is even more interested in this case than Wike because of his reelected come 2027 that's why he invited Fubara to Aso Rock. It's only a politically naive person will say otherwise. Tinubu doesn't know if Obi and Atiku will team up in 2027 so he is highly interested in tightening up Kano, Rivers and Lagos.

Fubara and his boys should prepare to steal the Mace and disrupt the State Assembly for the next 4yrs if he wants to retain power. Unfortunately politics in Nigeria na who better pass in grabbing it and running with it be winner.

There two types of quiet people, the one weh quiet and smart and the one weh quiet and dumb. I don't know the one Fubara belongs to.
Those that are talking above don't know much about Tinubu. Tinubu is a heartless politician. He calculates before act. Rivers State troubles are part of games. While I agree the overall strength of a country's economy is important, the issue is not just that we import refined products. So many countries in the world import all their refined products because many do not even have crude and yet their currencies are relatively stable and not on a constant downward spiral. Government regulation is a major factor in what happens to the currency
Our bad attitude and CBN's corruption are part of it. In Nigeria, all available dollars are bought up by Nigerians, especially politicians for their selfish interests. Qatar and Saudi are not producers but have currencies and economic stabilities, because they have zero tolerance to corruption.
