ITbomb:I think you are on your own with that opinion. It's been an enjoyable season for me and many people I know so far. The last three episodes were however more intriguing and action packed than ever. |
At the next award season this show must steal many trophies. |
Actually there is still something to spoil but I think the show is saving it for the season finale. I won't say it though. It is from season 6 that we will be able to safely say that the books and TV show have taken completely different parts. The comment about book readers wishing the books were like the series is inaccurate. Book readers still have a ton of unresolved but entertaining issues the TV show has cut off and has no way of incorporating again. Not to start any kind of conflict but I think that at the end of the day it is the book readers who will enjoy everything more. They will get to enjoy two different story paths, the books and the TV show, while TV watchers will only enjoy the TV show. If you can lay your hands on the books guys give it a read even if you start from the third installment. |
tremzy07:I'm willing to wager that Ser Barristan's death in episode 04 (?) will be the only big death this season. It's hard to imagine the story continuing without any of the remaining characters at this point. I say this inspite of the history of killing major characters in the show. |
The Federal Government has declared tomorrow Tuesday the second day of June 2015 a public holiday to mark the awesomeness of episode 8 of GoT S05. ![]() |
jmaine:For reals, man. Tyrion has the gift for gab. He can talk his way out of any situation or circumstance. He is certainly more than your everyday politician, he is in a class of his own. Someone who is almost as skilled as he is, although decidedly more evil, is Little Finger. These two men can sell water to a well. |

Akanniade:Was Jon's sword made from Valyrian steel? Either way the crows and the wildlings have better beef up their supply of dragon glass. They'll certainly be needing it. Episode 8 was kind of like watching WWZ part 2. Awesome! ![]() |

^ There I was expecting to see the wildlings marching quietly in twos through the wall with Jon supervising from a corner as described in the books only for my eyes to confront what turned out to be The Escape From Wildlings Country. Interesting stuff I say. Episode 08 is certainly the most action episode of the current season yet. At one point I thought I was watching WWZ 2, in a good way though. Jon's fight with the white walker commander was something, heck the entire battle scene with the walkers pressing at the gates was well done. I hope the crows and the wildlings have enough dragon glass, they certainly will be needing it in the near future. Ayra's training in the House of B&W is coming along nicely. Seems like she is shaping up to be a Robin Hood type assassin for now. Theon finally finds his tongue and tells Sansa that her younger brothers are still alive. It was refreshing, at least for me, that she has found some modicum of hope... Now how to plan her emacipation from Ramsay... Can't help but think that Ramsay's request for 20 good man to take on Stannis at his camp will be his undoing. Let's see how that all goes. This was quite an enjoyable episode, looking forward to the remaining 2. |
OP needs to reword the title of this thread, this is not a discovery it is just product development. A discovery refers to unearthing a naturally occurring phenomenon, smartphones are not naturally occurring. Thats why we don't say, for example, Honda discovered a new Accord, that would be ridiculous. |
The Rational Male by Rollo Tomassi. This is one book I recommend to every man who has ever wondered what informs the dynamics behind men women relations. Brilliant analysis! |
Yelawolf's new album Love story. |
Many people may not be bothered about this but can the mods kindly correct the wording of this thread's title? It should read Mayweather DEFEATS Manny Pacquiao... not WINS. Manny Pacquiao is not the prize here he is the opponent. You do not win your opponent, you win a prize, the opponent is defeated. Cheers cc: Honeric01, semid4lyfe |
help3852:Nobody knows Tecno outside of Nigeria, it is basically a local brand. Even in China Tecno is an oddity. How could they have been a threat to Nokia? You are assuming that all the competitions in the mobile space take place only in Nigeria and that is not correct. It is the combined effect of competition in all the continents that determines the fate of mobile brands like Samsung and Nokia. |
ITbomb:It's comments like this that draw my out of my lair... How does enabling access to android apps in the Windows store translate to abandoning the Lumia project? Did MS say that they will no longer be developing Windows OS? I don't think that you appreciate what impact MS's decision will have in the computer and mobile industry as they develop a single OS that can support any form factor. Everyday, for the past 4 years, people like you have announced the death of MS's windows phone yet its still around and growning. @Those who always say that Nokia should have adopted Android earlier - I talked myself hoarse on this forum explaining that Nokia would have struggled just as Sony, HTC and other big time OEMs are struggling under android. Samsung is the king of the android hill and while they face increasing competition from new Chinese OEMs like Xiaomi and Lenovo [s](no, Tecno is not a threat to Samsung despite what many Nigerians imagine)[/s] they would have proved a costly rival to Nokia had Nokia fully joined the android team. People keep recycling this topic and saying the same wrong things over and over again, I guess everyone wants to be seen as an expert on the demise of Nokia. |
crixlight2:Lol. Why are you calling these guys? We already know temi will say none of those actors were good enough, he will prefer GEJ or Fayose as Bond because they are his heroes and role models. ![]() |
^ So I finally finished watching season 2 of The Newsroom. It was very well done(witty dialogues, great storyline and acting) but my issue with it was the realism angle. As with the first season I found it hard to believe that all those intelligent characters would be given to periodic outbursts of loud emotions. All those shouting matches in the office struck me as unreal. How did you get past that? Anyway will slowly burn through the third and final season. |
Cococandy that looks delicious! |
I'm curious, is the work of the transitional committee a selfless one, will the members get paid or will they get some kind of allowance? If they will, how much will they be paid and from where does the money come from? cc: Obiagelli, Barcanista, PassingShot |
I always wondered where the president elect would stay before inauguration. Defence House. Hmmm, will check it out. BTW I thought it was believed that Buhari had no house in Abuja, how come this report says he had been operating out of his private residence in Asokoro? Anyway, off to Maitama for some sight seeing. |
Philfearon. WTH man?! Seriously. |
I think for people who want greater realism in military shooters that Battlefeld is the way to go. COD has a massive following but it's a bit watered down. You guys must have noticed how in COD your soldier can only run in short bursts after which he tires, very annoying especially when you want to make a fast getaway! Duck behind a wall or tree and you are invincible to bullets in COD, in BF the wall will eventually collasp after taking repeated fire - it only shields you temporarily. Of course this leads me to mention levolution in BF, that added dynamism of the maps. You can literally take down buildings and trigger ship wrecks! Imagine you are on the top of a sky scrapper taking out targets below, a few minutes later the whole building comes tumbling down with you apparently from tanks firing at the base or C4 charges placed by enemies. That feeling - that's a Battlefield moment. In all they are both great games and debates on which is really better depend on the tastes of the player. I think I lean towards to BF. |
So with the direction the TV series is taking we will have 2 different stories at the end of the day. Thank you George R Martin. ![]() |
JhyMedex:Do you know how to use torrent sites? I'm pretty sure you can find the books there. Otherwise go to the ASOIAF thread in the literature section of this forum and drop your email address for someone to help you out. ![]() |
Wale - The Need To Know (feat SZA) from The Album About Nothing. I like the mellow flow that the album has. Also been listening to T-Pain's The Iron Way mixtape. |
Dpearlz:Many people on this forum are under the illusion China, or Russia are angelic nations willing to help others without any self interest. You people need to wake up from lalaland. |
Truckpusher:SMH. All you have done is scoff and scorn at a widely accepted strategy; Provide a reasonable alternative to forming alliances for nations. Maybe the whole world can learn something from you. Too many jokers on in here. |
Truckpusher:You haven't provided any reasonable alternative to alliances na....oh wait, you say we should pay for the assistance or training. Hahahahaha, you must be a certified comedian. Go and offer any of these countries monetary payment for military assistance then come back and tell us well you fared. You better stop getting ideas from Africa Magic. |
Truckpusher:I can only conclude that you hold very naive views when it comes to alliances and international relations. Nobody enters into any alliance with any nation whether Russian, Chinese, NATO or what have you with the expectations that there will be a complete knowledge transfer, the expectations are spelt out in specific terms. What nations do is weigh if those terms best cater for their interests in the immediate, medium and long term. Say Nigeria enters into a military agreement with the US, the agreements are stated i.e a particular type of weapons training, maintenance or supply of equipment, logistics support etc, for a stated time frame. Nigeria or any nation does not go in expecting that because they have an agreement the US will automatically make their vast arsenal available for Nigeria's use. As I have repeatedly said here, it is the very nature of the agreement that is of high importance. Consider: will it not be better to have some measure of assistance or knowledgLe from a military superpower instead of nothing at all? |
It is from season 6 that we will be able to safely say that the books and TV show have taken completely different parts.
