LiteratureRe: Questions, Theories, And Trivia Of The ASOIAF (Game Of Thrones) Books. by Bawss1(m): 12:11am On Apr 13, 2015
Saw the first two episodes from the new season, will continue with the remaining two later on. So far it looks like a fair representation from the books. It was nice seeing Dorne and Highgarden, at least a representation of it, what had formed in my head was kind of different. Doran also appeared rather well looking for a sick and paralysed prince too.

Daredevil is actually fun to watch. Unlike those other sorryass superhero TV series developed by The CW, Daredevil has depth comprising of reasonably solid plot, witty and engaging dialogues, brilliant and believable method acting, and most of all, the element of realism. Go on and download all the 13 episodes, you'll love 'em. When Netflix step into the building, you know what to expect - a thrill ride. Still loving their Bloodline series.
Sounds like something I'd enjoy, thanks for the review. Queuing it now on my downloads...

As an aside I wonder what the reporter means by heavily armed soldiers. Are the soldiers packing more than the standard issue AK47 rifles provided by the army?

Hmmm. That ediot stole 9billion naira and claimed that he was going to renovate the govt house only for him to paint it. Imo state constructed their own with just 1billion and some foolish people here in kaduna want the bastard to continue
How does the construction of a government house translate to the judicious use of funds for the masses? That's a project that shouldn't even be mentioned in people-centred administration. Rochas and his Kaduna state counterpart should be ashamed for citing such a project as part of their accomplishments.

Science/TechnologyRe: What The Inside Of The Planet Mars Looks Like. by Bawss1(m): 4:20pm On Apr 09, 2015
^^ Life on Mars would be brutal. There is no oxygen, water (at least in readily usable form or quantity) and goodness knows the kind of cover the Martian atmosphere will provide for creatures such as humans. There is also the fact that the human body was designed for life on Earth, the long term effects of such different gravity on the body are unknown.

I find the group of people on this threads that are uncomfortable with space exploration very amusing. They try to downplay the significance of these photos because it challenges the beliefs they have held for so long.

There was a time when anyone who believed that the earth was a sphere was tagged a heretic and killed, now the spherical nature of the earth is no longer in doubt. The time is coming when many of our age old beliefs will have to be rethought because of the science, just hold on.

I really share your views on this, l really do
l have also been of the opinion that science can be merged, to some extent, with religious beliefs when answering some of life's biggest questions
My narrative concerning the Big Bang Theory, however, was on a pure scientific take on the origin of the universe - as different from that of religion.
l was wondering how you could get such perfection that is the cosmos from a chaotic and cataclysmic event like the Big Bang.
Science talks about the BBT, with little or no emphasis on how it came about, what caused it.
On the other hand, religion posits that the universe came from a supernatural being, God, with no emphasis on how He came into being, what "caused" Him.

Both theories are inconclusive.
I understand your position. However, while I'm not an authority on the subject, I think your view that the BBT itself was a chaotic and disordered occurrence is incorrect. Even such an epochal event as that happened according to the principles of physics and nature and we all know that physics and nature in general are anything but random. These principles and laws are universal operating from the subatomic to the galactic levels. It should not be unexpected that the BBT results in a beautiful and vast universe, with each celestial body strictly charting its course in accordance to set principles.

big bang is not an explosion, it is expansion ...lol.. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang
Ah, seen. Thanks for the correction. Even with that I think that the explanation I gave still holds. The Big Bang does not contradict religious assertions.

Defcon1:
Honestly, this is the very reason l don't believe the majestic universe, with countless, perfectly arranged gigantic stars and planets, came from The Big Bang

You can't get beauty and orderliness from chaos.
The Big Bang theory is for now still a theory. But even at that I think you misunderstand it, it basically posits that the univerise and all the celestial bodies resulted from one big initial explosion and continues to expand as a result.

How does this in anyway threatened or counter the explanation given by many religions? Could that initial explosion not be a physical manifestation of the Creative Act - Let There be Light? Could this not be the work of The Creator?

Personally I think it's when we insist on a literal interpretation of scriptural knowledge that we run into problems with science.

[/Scientific studies and findings contradicts most religions in the world, how can religious bigots give science a chance since it clearly poses a huge threat to their precious primitive beliefs.. Which of the religion? Go and read a book called Yoga Vasista, ( downloadable, I think), you will see how the ancients had always known about the existence of thousands and thousands of universes. And everyday, the Muslims read the surah where a translation called Allah, the Lord of the WORLDS (mind the plural) and many other examples like that. No doubt some religions and this, no doubt, due to imperfect human interventions in their scriptures, have made it look as if religion and science are mutually exclusive and contradictory to one another. This is really not the case with those religions that are pure.
Well said, sir, well said!

Because there is no life outside earth. Without HIM was not ANYTHING made that was made. No single life in other planet, not the tiniest or most irrelevant.
How can you be so certain that organic life only exists only Earth? There are literally billions of possible planets out there, the thought that the Earth is an anormaly is highly unlikely.

Ok honestly ur religious fanatism is getting into ur head.. must you bring this to the science section?

Please we are here for science related discussions not religion. please restrict ur fanatism to the religion section.
Science and religion ought not be enemies. After all they are both primarily concerned about explaining the world to man. Thing is religion has operated from a position of axioms - just believe - and so feels threatened when science questions it's assertions. With an open mind both can and should complement each other.

I actually knew what you were driving out when you opened this thread, now it is obvious. Take each singularly first, then take it in its billions and you will magnify God. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and
hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. Jeremiah 10:12 ► Like I noted, this is not new.
It's not new so people should not be thrilled about unearthing (pun intended) these kinds of things?

Just finished House of Cards season 3. Totally rubbish imo. stay away
Yep it was totally underwhelming but we had to see it because of the pace of the previous seasons. There were very few fourth wall remarks from Underwood - I used to like those, and the dialogue in general was less witty. I'd rate this season 5/10 and that's bad for a show that used to be a solid 8.

Netflix needs to hire better writers, their shows are becoming dry.

Bullcrap !! RMAFC is an commission under the ministry of finance. Buhari appoints the minister of finance who is answerable to him. The Buhari I know can do this easily with the backing of the Nigerian people. He, as the president can refuse to endorse whatever motion or act the NA would pass.
If he sticks to his gun and refuses to pay them what they want, coupled with the backing of the masses, the members of the NA will eventually give in. Do not forget that his party controls the majority. What the past presidents lacked was the will power to push it through. Allocations are actually determined by the executive man. OBJ withheld Lagos state allocation for months despite it being an act of the NA and constitutionally determined.
BUHARI CAN DO IT.
How can you be so obstinate. That's how democracy works unless you are indirectly saying that Buhari will somehow revert to authoritarian ways. The president cannot slash the pay of senators
