gimakon: Thats why i said, What i do is not compulsory. Your choice. Likewise if your Papers are Real , they'd consider you for TRV 10 years. Its still your choice that matters. Canada gives visas to anyone , EE and whatever. If they did not deem it so, they would not show it to the public.
I never debunked EE mind you, we have different mindsets. Everyone must not follow what you do. I wish you best and I pray you get your PR vis EE. Jah bless! A temporary residence visa is not an immigration pathway. TRV holders are either students or visitors. Anybody who tells you otherwise also has a bridge to sell to you. |

gimakon:
- Angel investor - Working Holiday
There appear to be many more, many of them would want you to first of all have a physical interaction with them, At least those two i am quite sure of. Working Holiday is more like a Visit visa only its possible that the tendency of work permit is sure after which you can apply for the same PR after a year, hence I wanted to ask to know if really these people know what they are saying exactly. Angel Investor, you can have a Business Idea and have someone assist in the incubation / Funding for the Business Idea, switching to PR later can also be easier in this one
My case, I like to make plans before I think of leaving anywhere. There and then possibility of getting PR is sure. Trouble is getting an investor to buy into your Idea, one of which I decided to use a visit visa first to see how things are done, then see if I can liase with an investor first of all. I have a job here, hence I took the TRV as a pathway into Canada , first of all.
There are other multiple ways. EE and Study permit are the only ones most of us here are open to. Hence many ignorant people here are praying for other peoples downfall in the name of bitter truth.. No research, nothing.
Its not about getting PR or PNP before the PR, how about thinking about this, You can submit for PR or PNP and still be denied because its possible the skill you have made available is not required or they have much hands (I think its better put this way) who handle the job, many would be forced to stick to menial jobs and what not. Its skilled labour hence, do not expect what you do, they would not have hands who can also do them. One of another reasons it would be a wiser idea i stayed with TRV, to survey after which i figure a way around getting PR.
Consider cost. How about spending all your life savings to get PR and you land PR and you do not have enough cash with you to lead you on? What we see in present day Nigeria is not bed of roses (My thinking). You would want to have cash at hand, to pay for some bills first of all, and then source for a job. I decided to use a cheaper visa to achieve all I wanted, its going to take sometime, but i just feel its worth it. Throwing cash around when you do not know what would get to you in a far away land, has to be averted. I do not know how others think, but this is how i reason.
Its never compulsory to follow my own path, many things i have said on here are on IRCC and canadavisa.com its a matter of personal research and youtubing, thats all..,i have too many ideas off my sleeves. About the open opportunities, You did see i put it in Quotes. Thats what many has been saying on several forums. Nothing necessary. Angel investors, start-up visas and the likes are all under the economic immigration pathways abi? I had covered these, perhaps loosely, in my original question with the etc Bawss1: What other means are there to enter and stay in Canada long term other than the economic migration pathways like EE, PNP,etc and schooling? I was under the impression you were privy to some other immigration routes that are not listed on the IRCC site |

Gentlemanforyou: Okay . As OGA in chief commander of this thread , I declare this thread closed . Just when it's getting interesting? No way gimakon: You are funny. So a nation with settlement and "Open job opportunities" than the US which require some level of documentation, judging by Trump and his trouble, will allow you Just like that to work on B1/B2 Visas without allowing you change status? Oga continue to contradict yourself. I know you resumed at IRCC last week. and you know the in and out about visas. Thank you. A couple of questions for you sir: How does Canada have more open job opportunities than the US? What fields is this happening in? What other means are there to enter and stay in Canada long term other than the economic migration pathways like EE, PNP,etc and schooling? I ask because your comments (like this Only student visa or EE, no other visa can take anybody to Canada? Pls where was it written, I want to see it. ) seems to suggest there are other means of legally relocating to Canada |

Spanishmilf: i think d mentality of that need to changs I agree to your opinion But we can help each other like d Indians, chinese They even have community abroad.... There are several Nigerian communities overseas. It is good to give and receive help but I think it is best for any newcomer to go in not depending on the help they will receive from others. Any help will then be seen as a bonus and not a necessity. For better or for worse, life in the West is largely an independent affair. |

afroxyz: that's your opinion. I didn't come to this life to live and die as a menial worker. If menial work was as glorified as you people put it the whites wouldn't leave those jobs for Indians, Pakistanis and your lot. manual work is a stepping stone but for christ sake dont glorify it because you are in a white man's country where you leave as a 4th class citizen.
I prefer to live as a lion in the Jungle than be a dog in the city. This generation and misplaced priorities. Nobody outside of yourselves gives a damn if your job is menial or intellectual so long as it is legal, provides value and is properly compensated for. |

Ugosample: I don hear you
I made my assumption based on what I have seen over the years
especially with relatives of mine....
They are more useful to their family back in Nigeria as illegal im migrants in America than they ever were in that failed shithole third world zoo called NiggerArea.
they send money via proxies at regular intervals to their families bought cheap land and someone helped build small homes for them etc
many Nigerians are redundant and useless to themselves in Nigeria a walk round the streets will show you.
So please Aren't you the poster who complains about the Nigerian mentality and how it is responsible for not allowing us to progress and develop? Yet here you are putting the same mentality on display for the whole interwebs to see. So your relatives, who as you mentioned are living illegally in the States, are now useful because they are gaming the American system and sending the proceeds of their illegal status back home for others to eat. They are taking unfair advantage of a system built and maintained by the taxes of hardworking citizens but its all good because somebody's stomach back home is full as a result. The same belle-first mentality that we all berate our leaders for is now OK here? Or do you think the term illegal immigrant is just a fancy word and that there are no negative consequences issuing from people who are thus described? There's no need to continue to spin this, illegal immigration is not good. |

Some deceiving themselves that they are living "well" in that zoo because they are making a paltry N180k (which btw most Nigerians don't make o) una eye go soon clear Dude, there's no justification for living as an illegal immigrant overseas. Please stop misleading the gullible readers on here with that kind of talk. |

maternal: Correct. I love that area. I have a guy that does the same. Go to Toronto for fun, then get the hell out on the weekends. I heard the Somali population is growing there, and the housing prices are increasing. Is that true ? Alas, this is very true. Toronto's growth is having a ripple effect in surrounding cities and in K-W as well. Part of this effect is rising house prices as more people move to the city. Somalis and Indians (as usual ) are coming here in sizeable numbers now it appears. It seems to me that the Somalis are those who came in here initially as refugees but their population is growing. I could be wrong about this. The Toronto - K-W corridor as it is commonly referred to these days is becoming busier and busier but for now K-W still retains its calm city status. |

Guitarlife: I was initially headed to Ontario but since my IT plans are scheduled to go live later and I wouldnt be contesting for an IT job till later in the year I reasoned the major reason for going to Ontario would have been ease of getting IT job. By the time am ready for IT jobs I can always apply from Calgary to Ontario, but I am hoping I can get a decent offer for software developer in Alberta tho.
Lastly, I have a friend who is in Calgary and ready to accomodate me for sometime and help with integrating.
From what I have read tho, GTA is like Lagos and am an Ibadan/Abuja kind of person If I can get a decent job in Alberta, I prefer the quiet Alberta life. I am hoping I can get a wife in Alberta too, I heard the hustle is too agresive in GTA for their ladies to have time for settling down Got it. Having someone in Calgary to help with your landing is totally understandable. From there you can position yourself to take opportunities as they present themselves. I am one of those people who are biased in citing Ontario as the place to be when it comes to IT. True, Toronto is a heck of a busy place to live in with the fast pace of life like one would find in any commercial hub anywhere these days. Thing is, it is very competitive in terms of IT jobs and this is unmatched by few places in the country except, say, Montreal. Another place in the province that is growing as an IT hub is the Kitchener-Waterloo region. It doesn't have as many opportunities as Toronto but it is steadily growing its clout. The plus side is that it is still offers a calmer pace of life unlike Toronto. [s]Also with all the schools in the region babes full ground[/s] I myself do not care much for big cities and their bustle, I generally stay away from Toronto ...except on the weekends when it is time for owambe For me living in the K-W region is like the best of both worlds, enjoy a calm city life and when it's time to switch it up the 6ix is just an hour away. |

You're not getting the inaccuracies you have about Canada and how that can be instrumental in giving people the wrong impression of things instead you default to a Nigeria vs Canada comparison which is not the issue here. |

ekanDamie: Nothing comes easy, yes u have to meet a criteria . but wouldn't u brag about a country where wen u meet the criteria u get what u worked n labored for? Without having to bribe your way? And when u say a life of welfare is not to be celebrates because its tax payers money, then what needs to be celebrated, a life where tax payers money are used to barb politicians hair for 1M or just a few greedy people eat what millions should b entitled to. There is no perfect country, but then those running should run they should just rum the right n legal way out of here brov. Again, I understand your flow. When I say a life under welfare should not be celebrated I mean and refer to those who are quick to announce to others how much they receive in government assistance especially when you take into consideration that if they put in the necessary effort they can achieve an even greater standard of living for themselves. Welfare is a good safety net to have but it is those who are living such that they require no government assistance that should be celebrated. I understand that it is the hard life that many Nigerians face that makes it look like welfare is some Eldorado level ish. Some people will hear that Canadians receive child benefits allowance or some other welfare and form the wrong ideas. They'll want to get in on the "goodies", want to live the good life without seeing the other part of the picture which is that they'll have to put in the work. And to get in many will see nothing wrong in illegal border crossings or making up lies just to enter Canada. |

ekanDamie: Lol. @Planetx. When I say they do, I don't mean naturally. But its as good as picking money on the tree. 24hrs electricity, free/subsidized high standard of education for your kids. Govt even pays u about 200k monthly for your child's upkeep if u apply, subsidized housing, minimum wage is 11CAD/hr 1Cad is about 260. The lowest job earn u above 400k every month. If you a professional u can rake home 1M every month. Pls tell me how else u want money to grow on trees. That's y whites can go and watch a dog shitting competition. They are well fed. Its those over here that go thru asylum n refugee that I am against but if you go there and u have an education or u can work round d clock without education. In 1 year u would be better of than a bank manager with all the MSC over here. I understand what you are talking about however I have to correct certain inaccuracies because they'll still lead people to making the wrong decisions. Canada does indeed offer a better quality of life than Nigeria no question but anybody who thinks they can come here and be given free money must a dreamer. Some Nigerians are quick to brag to their friends or family back home about the welfare benefits they receive and they give the impression that its given out freely like candy. Things like tax returns are not free money, its a portion of one's taxes that was earned the previous year. Child benefits and the rest are funded by tax payers. The point here is that welfare is not free, and there are certain criteria one must meet to be eligible for it. A life under welfare is not one to be celebrated as you would think. |

salford: Winter gears from the UK would not work efficiently in Canada. Their winter apparels are not suited for the extreme cold in Canada. I moved here from the UK and ended up throwing my UK winter jacket in the trash bin. It depends on where one buys winter gear from. Mountain Warehouse is a UK brand that sells winter gear well suited for Canadian winters, their Mountainlife Extreme line of apparels can be used in subzero temperatures here. They are just as good, if not better, than the likes of North Face, etc. I have several of their jackets and have used them comfortably for outdoor winter activities and sports. |
