You can't just generalize after reading few comments from local newspapers and Nairaland.

What percentage of the entire population actually put up comments on social media? You're the one trying to tag Nigerians this way and it's totally unfair. Can't you see that you're beginning to sound like a Nigerian hater?
Is everyone who makes an unflattering comment now a hater?

Where should one draw a conclusion of Nigerian comments online if not on the biggest Nigerian site Nairaland? Besides this behaviour is also prevalent on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

I'm trying to draw an answer from you on this particular matter but you have so far evaded: aside from the fact that we are the most populous nation where do many Nigerians get this sense that other African countries are beneath them?

Attributing any sense of superiority to Nigerians alone is an injustice against Nigerians .
Go to different countries and see how they see and perceive themselves .
Pride and a fine sense of superiority shapens the ideology of any nation that wants to be respected. When we yell 'racism' isn't racism a form of sense of superiority ? Even if they are based on some shameful history.
Nigerians are not the only nation guilty of this ,you need to do a little research to conclude that it is a Nigerian thing alone .
I have never been on any other African forum apart from this one so can't say if this sense of superiority is widespread. However judging from this forum and several local newspaper readers comments the number of Nigerians who talk down on other Africans appear to be in the majority. Even on this thread which is several pages long one sees this " complex", what prompts these people to think that all other Africans cower at their feet?

It wld take months but it wld eventually be rolled out. If you follow these top oems you wld know that Sony z series would always taste next android iteration same goes with HTC ones and sammys s and note series. Secondly, the new midrange phones will be preloaded with 5.1 out of the box or will easily receive the update.

We are talking about oems u are mentioning tecno and the likes
Lol! I think he is referring to the obvious fact that a large percentage of android users in this country are from the Tecno and Infinix crowd. It's almost safe to say that those phones will get the 5.1 update after Prince William's second child is weaned off breàst milk.

Well, you've got a nice point and I still repeat that the ruling class has not paid attention to what is necessary for the huge sleeping human resources, but the truth is that it exists all we need is a people orientated Government to exploit and harness these potentials and bang we are there.
Fair enough. I also share the view that because we don't have a people oriented government, as you put it, that we remain poorly developed.

The question that the OP asked still remains, where did Nigerians get their sense of superiority from? I mean aside from our large population why is it that it appears that the average Nigerian thinks he is superior to other Africans. (One only needs to read the comments on this forum to see this in display) Is there anything you think that makes this attitude a valid one?

Who cares ,I'm a Nigerian, a backward country when it comes to infrastructure but when it comes to human capacity .......even the best civilized people think we are just in our own world where they dare not walk even with their impeccable record.

Proudly Nigerian even with our too many dumb leaders with Buhari being number one on the list. angry

I'll die a Nigerian even in the next world there is something about this country that makes me proud even when there isn't much to be proud of .

Proudly Port Harcourt boy
Proudly Nigerian to my bones .....haters can hate me wherever they see me but I'm Nigerian for life.
Interesting comment. You admit that Nigeria is poor when it comes to infrastructure but not so when referring to its human capital. A couple of questions:

Does the infrastructure exist in and of itself, i.e. did it come about independently?

Shouldn't the rich human capital reflect in its environment, in the state of its infrastructure?

Is there any nation that has poor human capital? (and at the same time have great infrastructure?)

TV/MoviesRe: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by Bawss1(m): 7:16pm On Mar 14, 2015
Saw this discussed on another forum and thought to bring it here. How many seasons do you people think GoT should run for?

There are currently four seasons available and the fifth will be released soon. Some have said that great tv series like The Wire and Breaking Bad wrapped up after 5 seasons, that that is the safe point after which producers and writers tend to taper off with their story telling but we all know that unless the show is cancelled, ending it in its 5th or even 6th season will be a great injustice. The producers Dan Weiss and David Benioff have hinted at a possible 7 seasons while their TV network HBO may push for 10. What do NLanders think?
TV/MoviesRe: Why Nigerians Should Boycott DSTV And GoTv Services by Bawss1(m): 10:12am On Mar 14, 2015
I'm tired of seeing threads like this; I ain't boycotting nada. Any day I can't afford to pay for subscription I'll go do something else. DSTV is not essential besides there are other ways one can use one's time. What I find particularly irritating with threads like this is the open invitation to xenophobia: foreigners are out to exploit us to death let's shun them all, meanwhile we are yet to field an indigenous service that can rival theirs.

How does it sound to you guys, you are protesting for the right to watch Big Brother. Or Africa Magic. Like that is even a right?

Get back to us when you have a worthy cause for protesting.

otokx:
Port Harcourt airport is still under construction, those pictures are taking close up at night so that you can't see the arrival part that is just an embarrassment. The car pack too is horrendous.
I don't think Port Harcourt airport is still under construction, it appears to be completely abandoned. The arrival wing of that airport has remained in its abandoned state for a couple of years now and the tents put up in its stead have now assumed a permanent status.

While it is good that many of the airports have undergone some measure of renovation it is obvious that the quality of work done in many if not all of them is less than impressive.

The people listing the airport renovations for political points are not being completely honest with the state of things.

It's a common reaction from people who are only a few episodes deep in season 1. The pace of the first few episodes is a little slow but after on the intrigue drama and suspense just pile up. Then again there are folks who this kind of entertainment is not what they enjoy, something simpler and less concentrated would appeal to them more.
TV/MoviesRe: Multichoice, Enough Is Enough! by Bawss1(m): 6:12pm On Mar 10, 2015
All these calls of boycotting DSTV are pointless. Anyone who can't afford it should not bother themselves, it is not an essential service. There are many things that deserve public mass action, satellite TV isn't one of them.

MS are good in telling lies, try ubuntu 14.0.4 trusty thar then try ubuntu 15.0 unicorn u will see huge difference in it, ok even linux mint 17.0 Qiana and linux mint 16.0.4. The difference is very clear. Now let look at windows starting from windows 98 to windows 10 and tell me the difference in them? Windows 10 & 8 are just something else, MS did not even let us install windows 9 why? Don't get me wrong am a fan of MS and am using windows 8.1 pro cause some may say because it too complicated that why I don't like win 10 no. When something is bad say it.
You just couldn't resist coming on a Windows thread to spread this tired MS hate and Linux is the best chorus could you.

Are you running the Win 10 Preview? What are the issues you face, do you have any suggestions or corrections or questions regarding the preview? Those are the things people want to read about here, not some Linux fanboy attack.

Nollywood producers should ask for what they deserve. And they should not accept peanuts when they can get coconuts.
Much ado about nothing IMO, if anybody is discontented with the way a private entity is going about its business they have the option of boycotting said entity and setting up their own alternative. Specifically: If Nollywood producers feel they are not getting a fair deal on Africa Magic they should create their own platform where they can run as they please. Enough with this Nigerian sense of entitlement.

BTW Nollywood please step up your game.

BluIvy:
Guy? DSTV is a luxury item not an essential buy. If you cannot afford DSTV get it switched off. Imagine a boycott for such when you need essentials like water, electricity and healthcare.
By the way, the increase is across the board not only in Nigeria. Lastly, Nigeria does not have 2million subscribers, where is your source?
Excellent post, why should people boycott what isn't a necessity in the first place. Nigerians need to get their priorities right, watching satellite television isn't essential besides there are other means one can spend ones time with like you know READ A BOOK! It won't kill us.

Please say you are joking.

Mugabe has systematically ruined the lives of hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans, that is those he has not already eliminated, with his isolationist and autocratic style of leadership. It is hard to find any redeemable features his government has and yet you laud him on?

Take sometime and do a dispassionate study of the man you so idolise and free yourself from the clutches of ignorance. Mugabe is a perfect example of what a leader should not be.
