weIMPORT: A Nigerian drug suspect arrested in Thailand, ensured that he did not present his arrest on a platter of gold when he led the Police in a wild chase after he got busted on Sunday.
Koh Samui policemen and soldiers had to chase down Chinedu Victor Okeke, who jumped out of a window of his rented house, climbed over the fence and dashed into a temple where he was finally pinned down.
Tourist and Immigration police together with some soldiers headed to a rented house in Bophut, after the Koh Samui district chief suspected the foreign tenant was selling drugs on the tourist island.
But 45-year-old Okeke wasn’t going to surrender without a chase. He quickly climbed out of the window, climbed over the fence it and ran into Wat Laem Suwannaram temple.
But the police and soldiers in hot pursuit caught him there and brought him back to the house.
A search found that the suspect had hidden 4 bags of powder cocaine, weighing 2.5 grams, behind an electrical switch. Within a box containing imported alcohol was hidden 12 bags holding 11.3 grams of cocaine cubes and 27 tubes of the same drug weighing 271.6 grams.
The suspect confessed that the cocaine was his and that he’d bought it from a Nigerian friend. He said he sold the drugs to both Thai and foreign tourists for 1,000-18,000 baht at various entertainment venues on the island.

Angelanest: An accusation has been made against some operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) after allegedly extorting two men of N200,000. According to Mayor Chikwe who shared the news, the man were stopped by the SARS officers after boarding a cab in Imo state and were taken to the bush where they were allegedly threatened before the coughed out the huge sum.

Yesterday, a business friend sent me this image after I didn't hear from him for almost a whole day which was unusual going by the standard of our business frequencies. I called him immediately to confirm what the matter was and he narrated his ordeal in the hands of F-SARS to me. Note, f-SARS is supposed to mean federal SARS but today I am choosing to interpret it as fake-SARS.
He and his friend chatted a cab from Mbaise or so, and on their way, the SARS officers stopped them and asked them to alight, probably because they were looking fresh, I wouldn't know really.
Immediately, they instituted a case against them threatening to take them to EFCC office, safe they comply to their demands. My friend and his friend asked to be taken to the police station if that be the case, but for where,? the SARS guys refused threatening them with EFCC.
Along the line they asked them to enter the police van and drove them off into a bush in an unknown location, offloaded them and began to intimidate them. They outrightly demanded for #1.2m from my friend and his friend and threatened to waste them in that bush if they failed to comply. Out of fear, My friend bargained and dragged the price down to 200k and the SARS guys finally agreed. (This is the second person known to me SARS has extorted 200k from within the last one month).
The SARS guys took them to ATM and they withdrew from the cash and gave them at hand. The first person SARS once harassed called me asking for help to transfer 200k to the SARS guys to release him so he can continue his east bound journey from Lagos. He gave me the SARS guy's account number and I paid directly into it. If I was that guy I will make sure those SARS guys pay with their life after extorting me in that manner.
Anyway, I asked my friend why they even obliged to pay 200k insisting it was too much. My friend told me that the bush they were taken to, they don't even know where they were and secondly the fear emanating from similar stories he had heard in the past especially where those SARS guys even maime their victims or took some five guys to sell to one politician for 5m each, weakened him and heightened the fear in him, inducing his compliance to their outrageous demand.
The federal government must find a permanent solution to the SARS menace because more often than not, they are the Armed robbers on our high ways.

On the 9th of May, 2018, the Parents of Zainab reported the matter to the Hausa Christians Foundation (HACFO) and after listening to them, the HACFO Team went to Kugawa to ascertain the matter, and on reaching Kugawa we ascertained the truth of what they reported to us. Without further hesitation we went to the Village Head of Anchau on the Matter, he together with his cabinet and the Muslims leaders all attested to the initial report that came to us by the Parents of Zainab without any contradiction.
In order to broker peace, and peaceful coexistence between the Christians and the Muslims of Kugawa and Anchau, we advocated on the need not to infringe on the right of anyone on any ground. We discussed at length for about 2hours and after then, we all reached a conclusion that justice will be done by returning Zainab back to her parents, and if Saleh Idi Magami really wants to marry her, he should go as a responsible man and follow the due process. They called the parents of Zainab back to go and receive their daughter the following day, but on reaching there the story totally changed to our greatest disappointment. The Village Head and the Alhaji Usman Idris Kugawa now said that they don’t have control any more in the matter, which actually they were the ones that sponsored this atrocity. The Parents of Zainab and the Team of the Hausa Christians Foundation were left stranded with nowhere to go. They left Zainab under the Custody of the Islamic leaders who eventually joined her in marriage with Saleh Idi her abductor. and they continued with their enchantment upon her
That was how they ignored every of our plea and went ahead to join Zainab and Saleh in marriage islamically without the approval of Zainab’s biological parents. When the Anchau Divisional Police Headquarters were about to intervene in the matter, they were called and warned from the office of the Village Head to remove their hands on the matter or face the consequence, that the matter is a religious matter. That was how the Divisional Police Office of Anchau also withdrew from the matter and left Zainab’s parents in pain and our team stranded.
After understanding the terrain of the situation and how everybody is supporting a crime that is punishable by law, we prayerfully and courageously went ahead to champion other ways we can get this Daughter of Zion freed and reunited back to her aggrieved family. After two months of intense battle both spiritually and physically, constant threats and our undying determination, the God, Yahweh that we serve showed up on our behalf and all knees bowed. He crowned our feeble efforts with success and wiped the tears of His Children and gave us Zainab back to His Praise and Glory Only, with the help of the National Human Right Commission Kaduna office and the Kaduna State Police Headquarters.
The condition at which we got Zainab back is not a totally hopeless one, but so much harm has been done on her. At the moment, she needs a complete attention and rehabilitation of her mind, body and spirit. She suffered so many abuses as a wife to her kidnapper. While she is undergoing a medical treatment, mental and spiritual rehabilitation, we covet the prayers and support of all our friends and partners from around the world.
