The United States Central District Court in California has sentenced Nigerian-born, Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, to 11 years in a U.S. prison for international Internet fraud, but will spend nine years, having spent two years there already.

The Judge Oits Wright said the sentencing would be concluded on November 7, 2022 and that all parties have been informed of this development. The court’s statement shifting the sentencing said, “counsel are notified, the Sentencing is continued to November 7, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. as to Defendant Ramon Olorunwa Abbas.”

The sentence hearing was initially moved by Judge Wright from February 14, 2022 to July 11, then to September 21 and now November 7.

The United States Attorney’s Office for Central District of California, Los Angeles had said it would sentence Hushpuppi, for alleged international Internet fraud, on September 21, 2022 and was expected to face a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. Hushpuppi appealed and pleaded for leniency and reduced jail time.

LOS ANGELES – A prolific international fraudster who conspired to launder tens of millions of dollars through a series of online scams and flaunted his luxurious, crime-funded lifestyle on social media was sentenced today to 135 months in federal prison.

Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, a 40-year-old Nigerian national, also known by his Instagram handle, “Ray Hushpuppi,” was sentenced by United States District Judge Otis D. Wright II, who also ordered Abbas to pay $1,732,841 in restitution to two fraud victims.

Abbas pleaded guilty in April 2021 to one count of conspiracy to engage in money laundering. He was arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in June 2020 and has remained in federal custody since his expulsion from the UAE.

Me that check oil gauge, water, etc before leaving home.....now it's ignorance (abi Na wetin dem call am)....abi not maintaining my car well that caused engine oil shortage and faulty compressor/condenser.
Engine oil shortage isn't human fault, it is a mechanical fault....Engine issue!

If I pay myself salary and i save money from the business, and in a space of months, I had spent 300k on only repairs of faults not caused by me, then I think 'FOR ME', the hustle isn't sustainable.
It should be a means to an end not a full time, 'long lasting', 'die there' job. I am not disputing the fact that people are making money in the hustle. I am just telling you my own personal experience and my take on the hustle. I am also not discouraging anybody.

I have driven in Lagos for over 15 years without accident. I've driven to Enugu State and back to Lagos, not once. I never used my first car(in a white collar job) to do e-hailing and I never had major issues like this, till I sold it.

Cabu cabu, Yellow Taxi, airport taxi is more sustainable than Ehailing in Lagos
All those baba’s will sleep in their parks either playing cards or ludo. You will go there to meet them, they will bill you 12k mainland to island , if you like walk round the park they will all say 12k or you lucky to get one person that will agree to go for 11,500.
If they get to your house and see luggages they bill you extra for loads or turn back to their park, no stress. if they get to the road and traffic is too much, they will put of their engine, leave you in d car and go under shades and probably bill you more for traffic.

No fear of 1star or getting blocked, no drivers score
No AC little fuel
No fake transfer na only cash
Lastma, police, LG tout they avoid them self.
