If I could remember, they are asking some questions just to detect where Ur problem is coming from, so they can proffer a solution lobatan. That's the same thing doctors do in the hospital they ask u some question to know how they can help you. kanuisagoat: Deep inside yourself, you know its not about the salary alone.
So lets drop the may's and if's.
To make things practical, I know for a fact that someone on a 200k salary in a moderate firm I don't want to mention has access to an upfront of 300k plus in January, leave bonus of 300k plus, and yearly bonuses that can be up to 1m naira depending on performance. Let's just peg that at 500k in a year.
Add all and divide by 12 and he has an extra 100k on his 200k salary. To you on the outside, hes earning 200k
And guess what? He also has access to a loan of 3m naira having worked just one year.
So if according to you he can get a Nigerian used car at 1m naira. Then he can easily buy 3 with his loan and put on rentals.
This is just a moderate firm and not the top of the line companies in Nigeria. If you need proof I will send to you privately.
If he goes on leave, he gets his full salary for that month.
A colleague fell down and broke his leg recently. He has not been to work in three months and he's still getting paid. God help any driver who finds himself in that same situation.
My point is that,
1. You don't know what else is attached to peoples salary and you cannot make blanket statements like they need to earn 300k salary to compete with a driver on ehailing.
2. They are not even the same and should not be compared. Its apples and oranges from where I stand. Dancing to Song: ma jo monalisaa, ma jo monalisaaa But kanuisagoat you are killing it You are too much You are eloquent, precise , accurate, with real facts and figures not assumptions. PuZZyNegro: People don't understand that the benefits that come with working in a corporate environment is far more than just the gross salary.
These two hustles are incomparable. Uber/Bolt only has one short term advantage which is the immediate cash it generates.
Working in a corporate organization has medium and long term advantage which will make an ehailing driver droll with awe in few years time assuming two people entered the two different businesses at the same time.
The problem most people have with salary job is impatient. They want to blow working for just one year. Career is built over the years so is the salary. Hey you guys are doing justice to this topic. I’m loving your narrations C’mon let’s go |

kanuisagoat: There's one important part you guys always forget. It is not always about the salary. Someone on 150k salary may easily compete with your entry ehailing driver because he has other perks he gets asides the salary. He may have access to low interest loans, while the driver is driving for one year to raise funds to buy another car, he has gotten a loan to buy a car to put rentals and paying a meagre 5-10% interest on the loan.
For drivers and for the most part, it's just what you earn and nothing else.
If his employer also sacks him, they will pay him off with something that may be enough to keep surviving.
If the government t comes tomorrow with a policy that bans ehailing, what's the fate of the driver?
You people should just leave all these unnecessary comparisons. You cannot look at what a driver on ehaling is earning and say a salary earner must earn 300k to be on the same level.
They are not the same and should not be compared Thank you God bless you this early morning oohh My belle dey sweet |

FuckEveryday: I think this driving Vs Salary is stale already.
As much as we all shout there are no jobs in this country...There are indeed alot of jobs. Just not any kind of Job...WELL PAYING JOBS.
But it's just sad it's not as open as the Outside world where you don't need to know someone who knows someone to get those In-House vacancies.
But when you indeed find it, a person who has gone to school, knows something upstairs, and has little Career experience will NEVER sit to argue Uber /Bolt pays better than Corporate organisations (Not talking about those disaster 4bedroom wannabe companies in Lekki)
Uber/Bolt and Co-operate Environments are two entirely different worlds which can and should never be compared by any Sane and educated career driven person.
Let me break it down for those always looking at dashboard.
IF YOUR ORGANISATION PAYS YOU FROM 150K AND ABOVE, HMO SERVICE AND OTHER MINOR BENEFITS, STICK TO IT AND FIND A BETTER HIGHER PAYING JOB
While you're still dere...Instead of resigning to do Uber "For the main time"
But if you feel you can easily make that money in a week or 2 while doing Uber, Please Download the app and welcome to the New Life.
My Advice to everyone (Both Uber & Office worker) remains, FIND A WAY TO EARN IN $ Even tho it's 5$ per day.
May God provide for us all Thank you Thank you Thank youuuu Please increase your volume You just gave a sweet voice to all have been trying to say all this while. CheerfulGiver: Wrong.
For you to save 100k weekly, you have to gross a minimum of 200k weekly. It's not for everyone.
For those who can gross 200k weekly, but can't save 100k weekly is simply because they don't want to, because they have other projects taking up that 100k. Not that it's an impossible feat.
The question remains how to gross and maintain 200k weekly. Piece of cake for people like me. Thank you very much for this statements of facts 1. You must gross 200k to save 100k per week. I’ve not seen any dashboard of 200k gross here apart from you. It’s not for everyone 2. How many people can gross 200k weekly ? Working everyday of the week and months yet someone says it’s very easy and many people have been doing it weekly. How many ? How easy? I have no data to proof so I agree it’s easy. But your question is valid and I wish pearl1910 can answer it The question remains how to gross and maintain 200k weekly.

Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by BAZ001: 5:40pm On Sep 23, 2021 |
Pearl1910: I am quite shocked and confused reading this piece from u. You are advocating for people to rather keep their 80k to 100k salary job and in the same breath u r listing valid and possible expenses of an average married man to the tune of 3.5m a year. Where and how do u want these people u advise never to resign their peanut salary paying jobs to get the balance inother to get by in life. Just because according to u, driving is stressful and not easy to save.
With your expenses breakdown let's even remove 1m and settle with 2.5m yearly expenses. It means the minimum job that a person can earn a decent living is 200k salary job.
So when u tell people ehailing isn't better than 100k salary work, I don't know if u r joking or u r lying or u r deceiving. I said let’s assume you make 300k driving as full time job every month? How many people on rentals save 300k monthly? It’s only you and CheerfulGiver that compares people that earn less than 100k per month to drivers. How many people earn less than 100k per month in Lagos apart from cleaners and some teachers ? We just assume bankers and civil servants earn less than 100k. I Was only pointing out to crvrider that it’s not easy to save money in this hustle unlike salary earners that earns monthly. But you don capitalize on it to proof your point. So I give up today till I get valid point

Crvrider: Pardon me Baz for not seeing the guy I quoted as a married man. But why do you guys always take this married man narrative? A newly employed married man will still wait one month before he receives his first salary and every other subsequent salary. My advice to ehailing married drivers, treat your earnings like you are a salary earner. I went the married narrative because of 1.people that wants to resign to join the hustle As married men to rethink. 2. How easy is it for married men to save 4th and 3rd week earnings ? When they have to pay for house rent in Lagos annually , school fees per term, feed family everyday, pay utility bills and pizza/shawarma with no other side hustle, solely bolt ? How easy ? I’m not saying it’s not possible before ants let loose on me. I know people do it feed their family and live on ehailing even on rentals. Salary earners earn in bulk once every month but driving you earn daily/weekly ( how easy to save)? Let’s assume You earn 300k driving every month (3.6million) House rent 600k/yr School fees 400k * 3 terms (1.2m) Miscellaneous (1.3m/yr ) : feeding clothes,NEPA,hospital, relatives, fueling Gen, Car maintenance (300k/yr) Total =(3.5m) 3.6m - 3.5m = 100k Savings 100k
