Russia has its alternative to Swift known as the CIPS. Russia is a major economy, so lots of countries can join their access network with it, it's not hard. For example the EU still trade with Iran with INSTEX. And one thing people are not asking is this. How will the EU especially Germany and France pay Russia for their gas? Its the headache of the buyer to pay a seller, and if Russia demands gold or Remnibi, then the EU must cough it out.

About the war, I feel really bad about it, but I can see through Putin's eyes, the bigger tragedy he is trying to avoid. Trust me when I said this, this is nothing compared to what is to come if he does not invade now. It would take long but I'll try to explain it in shorts. In game theory, you must fight when you have the advantage, that's how you win. Also, you must know what victory is, and not fooled by momentary victories.

Putin fears that the faith of Yugoslavia will happen to Russia, and no amount of sanction will stop him from securing Russia's future. It's better to fight now and collect all the beatings of sanctions now that you're strong and can survive, than when nato bases surrounds you, and you'll he fighting both sanctions and war on your territory. Its a choice between "a war of choice" now, or "a war of survival" down the line. Its unavoidable, russia must face any of these two fate, and it's common sense to choose the former, not the latter. Sanctions will bite, but Ukraine will not join Nato and with time, sanctions will fade off, but Russia will still be intact.

That's true victory, instead of waiting until youre defeated because of sanctions. The hard way is always the way out in life. Also don't forget, Russia suffered worse economical situation than now. During the break up of the soviet Union, the inflation was so high that a bread cost over 2 billion rubles just like Zimbabwe where bread cost trillion of Zimbabwe dollars. Putin have spent the last decade sanction proofing Russia's economy and as luck may have it, China faces the same western hegemonic threat, and will lend Russia a hand because if Russia goes down, China is in deep soup. If you check out Russia and China in the map you'll see that China feel geographically secured because its impossible to invade them from the west, since they share a border with Russia.

For example its impossible to invade Nigeria from the north, unless you enter through Mali. Now imagine if Mali is an enemy, it would be a nightmare to defend yourself from the Atlantic ocean in the south, and Mali from North. Now imagine the eastside (Cameroon) and the west side (Benin republic) are enemy States, its hell. Luckily, China is exposed only from the SSC (south China sea), facing Japan and South Korea, so the opening is just one. For China, its a life and death issue because Russia must not fall. So they will support it. Putin and Xi are best friends and sign a memorandum of "no limit" to their friendship in the launch of the Beijing Olympic.

Now imagine this. For example, lots of Yugoslavian leaders ended up in ICC in The Hague after break off, where they became weak and become answerable to external powers. Also, Russia is truly an independent country, they control their destiny. No shell controlling their national oil but Gazprom. Strength wins war not who is right. Russia must withstand this tough time, if not, then even a bigger danger awaits them that will make the dissolution of the soviet Union seems like a slap in the wrist. Listen to the speech Putin gave before the war, he hinted a lot of these things.

Putin has no intention of annexing Ukraine. His intention is nothing but regime change or policy reversal by Zelensky.

Putin has no intention to slaughter innocents en masse. That will destabilise his intent as the people will not accept his chosen puppet president when Zelensky is gone.

Because of these two reasons above, the invasion was never going to be one where Ukraine would be decimated. That's why Russia is taking things relatively gently.

That you are unaware of the strength of Russia's Army and Weaponry is because you are intellectually lazy. It's available online.

If Putin wanted to destroy Ukraine he would use less than 1% of his arsenal to reign brimstone upon them. But then he will be left with 20 million enemies on his border.

Even thid entire invasion is Zelensky's fault for trying to push above his weight.
