Just looked at my fly delta app and realised my trip is meant to be in exactly 30 days time. I booked this flight in january when everything was sane and okay. As at today I cannot tell if this trip can be made or not.
lol. I actually find it funny but real. Just when you have been happy you crossed the B2 Visa hurdle just before the ban then life throws another thing at you.
Oh well. God's will be done |

stephye: Hey guys, I just came across this thread and must say I have gathered a whole lot of info, but would like to seek advise from the guys here. I got a b1/b2 visa last yr for the purpose of a business trip which I went for and returned to Nigeria after a few weeks. Now am thinking of going to birth with this visa, I reached out to my company and was asked to send a mail to the embassy to inform them but I got an automated response from the embassy. Am not sure to do now cos after reading this thread, it seems one stands a chance of your visa getting cancelled if you decide to apply for a medical visa which I wouldn't want cos I should be going on another business trip end of the year with this visa. You got an automated response because they have told us that change of intent does not work again. infact you sending it has put your details and info on alert for them. Scroll back to the previous page and see the 4 options you have. While i would subscribe to option 1 of reapplying for a B2 visa so that your mind is free especially as you have sent change of intent, option 3 seems the best except if you are sent back at the POE and not allowed in. But if you manage to scale POE, pls pay all your bills with no discount. don't accept self pay packages less then 10k. Then your chances at a renewal will be quite high. (not guaranteed but really really high). |

Oluchijiv: So what then do I do ooooo...should I just travel without informing d embassy of my plans? Wont it Jeopardise my being allowed into d states at d POE and future renewal as well? Am very much confused you have four options. 1) Apply for a B2 visa where you present your proof of burden and have a breezy easy entry to US if approved 2) Risk going in with this and get sent back at the POE with a cancelled visa 3) Risk going in with this and be successful then hope for a successful renewal... 4) Go ahead with sending the change of intent and be told by the embassy to do step no 1....they will mark your details so if you go ahead to travel with the visa after you have been told to reapply, you will not be allowed in. The truth is none of us here can be sure of what will happen. the VOs have their own mind. Number 3 may even be good for you. it is just a chance you should be willing to take. Some people have done and renewed successfully |

Beautyaddy: Hmmm...such forms no longer exist.
If you didn't tell the VO that you were going to use the B1/B2 visa for medical during your last interview and you end up using the US visiting for childbirth ...you might be face with difficulties during your next renewal.
Caution! very correct. my first baby i did a change of intent letter in 2017 and then it was working. During my renewal, the VO asked if i was going to use the visa to give birth and indicated i would if i got pregnant in future. And she told me how to contact them if i did. As soon as i did i contacted them and they asked for some information then updated the records and asked me to proceed and return with my receipts. Change of intent letter is no longer relevant as at 2019/2020. except things change. However, you can try your luck. Who knows? Things may have changed as at today. |

Ameera2018: Good morning everyone & happy new year,
I got a B1/B2 visa in May, 2018 and it is expected to expire in May, 2020. Even though i applied for that visa for tourism purposes, i got pregnant in July, 2018 and used it for child birth in 2019. I declared the purpose for my visit at the POE and paid my bills in full $14k plus for Virginal delivery without discount.
My question is, in view of these ongoing denials will it help my case if i use the visa one more time for vacation in March/April before applying for a renewal in May/June ?
Gurus in the house kindly advise. no it doesn't matter going for another vacation. you have good bill. go with your itemized bill and your statement of zero account. |

OmoBendel24: No emphasis on the figure paid the last time, and the figure to pay now? I think there should be. Every other thing seem to tick right as it were, but we can never say never with these peeps you know.... I can see too it seems she was pregnant already at the time of visa acquisition, and these people tend to be retroactive too in recent times, we need factor all these in. I'm actually concentrating my calculations on visa renewal as she at the of the day and of this current visa would have successfully holidayed and birthed twice without encumbrances surely. i know someone who got a visa for visiting purposes, used it for holiday, then went to give birth first time, then was about using it to give birth again the next year but was sent back at POE. I am still not sure why she was sent back the second time but allowed the first, even though it was just a year apart and the visa was still valid. So maybe you are right, even though the boxes are ticked, they will definitely ask for the last receipts and you never can tell if they will be pleased or not with the results. |

KDK: For me, you are good to go as your responses above are all green lights in my opinion. So long as u arrive the POE before expiration of the visa and your passport has more than 6months validity, i do not see any issues. Remember to take along all the documentations of your previous birth (especially zero balances and receipts). Nevertheless, let us wait for other people's thoughts as well. All the best ma'am. I agree with this. you have done all the right things. ensure your passport is valid and you go in at least a day before the Visa expires. it is the stamp onthe passport at the POE that matters not the visa expiry date |

tosinhtml: Hello Mrs, sorry If my question sounds very dumb, I am a guy (not married yet, just planning ahead) & i just want to understand some things.
- Why & how come delivery is so expensive in the US? - Are these prices only for immigrants or Women who only come to give birth?
I understand people with jobs & insurance would have it cheaper but even that, insurance only caters for a small percentage of the bill.
- There are poor people in America, down town NY etc. How do they afford to give birth to their own kids?
chibertha Beautyaddy cretin Please guys, help me out here. I'm going through this thread & my brain is going ballistic because of the prices. Hmmm. I don't really know why, but healthcare (not just delivery o) is expensive in US. I have read of how just calling an ambulance or going in for a toothache can cause so much. That is why the VOs are not accepting low Bill's because they believe if their citizens can pay so much why would we come and think we can get it at ridiculous prices. They also claim that the hospitals that give us low self pay prices somehow claim the discounts from their government. Now that is one battle we cannot win, esp as their guests. So the way we avoid going through that nonsense talk is to look for hospitals that give little or no discount and still have reasonable prices. I know reasonable varies but you can Google different states to know average costs of delivery. That is what should guide you in the term 'reasonable'. it was not always this strict, but it is what it is now. I had my first baby in the US. Maryland Precisely. And even though I was soooooo mad over the Bill's, I appreciated it during my renewal. the VO that interviewed me even gave me payment tips. And now that I applied to go give birth again, I had no problems being approved by the embassy even without an interview, in this day and time of no dropbox and unsuccessful change of intent. So do the right thing when you are ready. And pray for God's favour. |

IbkA: Hi Bcpump. Can you please walk me through on how you updated your records with immigration. During my last interview I was asked if I was going to use this for medicals and I indicated yes if I got pregnant. Then I was given steps on what to do. So you have to first declare during an interview and they would inform you on what to do. |

Beautyaddy: Bcpump, I wouldn't advice you to fall for these highlighted statements.
Stick to the city and hospital you told or sent to the US visa officers that were going to be using for this birthing trip...so that you visa renewal won't end up causing you problems in the future. Thank you. I definitely would compare the prices and not go for anything low such as <<10k. what I want is something totalling about 16k for hospital/doc and all medicals. for the location, I am actually free as I was not asked where exactly I wanted to birth during my Visa update. |

cretin: you could consider towing the path of the previous poster, by getting your own doctor, who would then use emory hospital. 2ndly, since you already have a valid visa, you are a free agent, why not consider other american cities with more pocket friendly birthing prices...illinois, detroit oklahoma etc
3rdly, if you are tied to atlanta, there are still more affordable hospitals around emory..like piedmont, womens specialist hospital etc Thank you. would explore that |

So I just called emory and they told me there are still costs not included in that 13,600k bill, such as paed, drugs dispensed during delivery etc.
please who has like an idea of the total amount it would cost with these things inclusive just so that I am better prepared. Thanks. |

ladyprosper: Hmmmm...I got a bill of 8600 for CS at Emory ...hospital bill plus doctors fee....can’t figure out why am getting it cheap and what am not doing right the bill you got, was it for hospital alone?? it looks fair/ok for hospital only. if it is hospital + doc, then even I would run away as the discount on the final bill would be huge. I would be scared of a low bill. confirm that there is none or no much discount from the hospital. you do not want to have problems during your next renewal. Even for the 13500, I know when I add scans and some things that may come up the total should come up to about 16k at the end of the day |

cretin: ok great!. though wht am asking is, you used emorys correspondence for the birthing visa application, or u had a valid visa b4 I had a valid Visa then I updated my records with the embassy for birthing purposes. they did not ask for new hospital correspondence. just asked me to ensure I return with all receipts and show them at the next interview. I had already gotten emory correspondence to send to them before they updated it though. |
