lionness:No, shame on you! How can you see progress and not accept it? I am not ACN leaning, but Oshiomole's action is highly commendable. We need leaders that will listen to us and mingle with us, and a new breed is being born. ![]() Fresh Air is blowing through Nigeria! |

NEXT has no information to suggest that the president’s campaign is in fact linked to this bribery scandal. It is not unusual for thieving officials to claim that they are acting at the behest of a president. Upon being contacted by our reporters, a spokesperson for the president’s campaign reacted with alarm and issued a sharp denial Acharu Osime, a spokeswoman for oil marketer Sahara Energy, vehemently denied her company’s involvement in any wrongdoing.Nothing more needs be said. |

ak47mann:Almajiri. If you could spell, you would know that Beaf is not an English word. Don't worry sha, almajiri education is being modernised by GEJ; dude, its never too late to learn; one day, you will know; "a for apple, b for ball." . . .Right now you only know; "a for almajiri, b for bomb, c for cutlass, d for death. . ." Education will straighten you. |

honeric01:Yeah, he's packed with vitamins A, B, C, D and E. He even has vitamin q sef! lol! In the meantime, both sharia lords are looking spent and confused, while GEJ coasts to victory with Ribadu in tow. |

Lagosboy:CPC will splinter and rot away after the elections, like it happened to ANPP. The same potent reasons are present; a rigid guy who wishes to stamp his name indelibly on the party and a bunch of criminals who believe they can reap short term benefit from that name. . . Interests are wildly divergent, then, kaboom! |
That election will be cancelled, no two ways. |
monkeyleg:The whole thing is funny my broda! Right now, DPP people are still quarrelling seriously with INEC over result sheets. Its a waste of time, cos its impossible to rig this time. As for Delta state, I strongly believe that PDP is the best for now, but we need a much healthier mix in the House of Assembly. My fear with DPP is its too much of an Urhobo party right now, and we really do not need that sort of politics in our dear state. Uduaghan might not be perfect, but the new politics blowing through the country will force him to sit up; there will be no smiling for anybody after the high standards of these elections. monkeyleg:Can you imagine thugs still siezing ballot boxes in this digital age? Yes Warri and Ughelli are rough (particularly Ughelli), but its just fools who haven't read the time; right now, its the people speaking, not like in the past. |
@monkeyleg PDP has cleared Delta North. |
monkeyleg:When I heard the DPP man for Delta North had been arrested for beating up INEC staff, I thought it was you! Abeg, am joking o! Results in Delta aren't coming through that fast, but its likely to be PDP just edging ACN, DPP has a shot in Delta Central, but we'll see. Its been a bit rough and violent in many places. My guy, you no de ground? |
Healthy results indeed. If the presidential election is as smooth as what we had yesterday, then Nigerians will accept the winner, if a runoff is not required. The question is, will the terrorists of the ND accept defeat gracefully. GEJ has been a failure for the most part as a President whose party was in the majority in the NASS. His major "archievement" was to squander $billions of our fortune by sharing it with governors and on phantom projects. He will be an even less effective president when his party is now in the minority. For the good of the country, the president must come from CPC or ACN. Buhari of CPC is the clear preference here. A runoff between Buhari and Ribadu is not as far fetched as it was, 24 hours ago. SAI BUHARI KO RIBADU, SAI ONE NIJERIA!!!
Aboki, I would be more concerned with the primitive bombings you guys are doing to kill and terrorise your fellow innocent Northerners. The worry you should have about the ND when you lose, is that when you turn up with stones and homemade bombs, the ND'll be turning up with GPS guided rockets and remote controlled drones; yes, it is good to go to school sir! ![]() GEJ is barnishing your primitive stone throwing politics forever; he is the quiet guy with the vision on the mission! Lol! |
Witness history as a New Nigeria is being built! Nigeria's enemies first tried rumours, they failed; then they tried lies, they failed; then it was threats, they failed. Bombs? They failed. There is victory in truth, vision and goodwill to your fellow man. GEJ has the vision and dedication to set Nigeria on the path to realisation and development. GEJ is Nigeria's gateway to greatness. His defeat of the cabal and its sectional interests will begin our countries cleansing; it will open the path for leadership talent like the Sule Lamido's, Amaechi's, Akpabios's, Chime's, Fashola's, Utomi's etc to be able to contest by merit on a level playing field, in elections that are free and fair. Nigeria needs the cool, calm, wise, intelligent and reassured head that sits on Jonathans shoulders. He alone has the vision, honesty, diplomatic nous and social dexterity needed to weld the disparate parts of Nigeria into one indivisible union with shared goals and ideals. Of all the candidates, GEJ is the only one to display a grasp of the tools required for our technological development. From ideas to set 1% of our GDP aside for Research and Development in science and technology, to siezing control of petroleum industry from foreign parasites and spongers (like Shell) through far reaching programmes like the gas master-plans and petroleum industry bill (PIB); all of these amongst others. A truly great guy! Fresh Air 2011!! www.nairaland.com/attachments/396240_JonathanNigeria_jpge7a36aa6bc0c2d1c59341bf005b3e97c |
GEJ has proven that he is a man of his word, he is honest, a man of courage and a man with the best wishes for Nigeria. We are witnessing history in the making as he joins Nigeria's very greatest. |
wesley80:The best you can expect from him is to continue bumping up the thread in the hope that his fellow rumour breeders will take a shine to it and wade in with their usual "***chukwu" and other useless gutter expletives in the direction of the President. |
wesley80:Lol! Rumour mongering? . . .It's the classic hallmark of a never failing intellectual mud muncher. |
suwailad:It will not affect GEJ, you are making an elementary mistake. The governorship and Presidential elections will be quite different from yesterdays (especially the Presidential elections). I will say again, check the Ipsos poll, it is looking bloody accurate at the mo. Also, PDP will continue to have a majority in the NASS, it just going to be reduced. It isn't "the end of PDP as we know it" (exept that its now a much cleaner party) rather, it is the end of politics as we know it; thanks to a great President and a great man, GEJ. Fresh Air 2011! |
Altogether, a healthy result, a stronger democracy and greater representation for the voice on the street. For those who still think the Ipsos poll was rubbish, you need to look again, cos its looking like witchcraft right now. Its that accurate. |
Results trickle in after Nigeria parliamentary poll * Ruling party expected to see majority weaken * Results slow arriving from remote areas * Poll is litmus test ahead of presidential vote By Matthew Tostevin and Camillus Eboh ABUJA, April 10 (Reuters) - Election officials in Nigeria counted ballots from parliamentary polls through the night into Sunday, some arriving by horseback, in what they hope will be the nation's first credible vote in almost two decades. Results starting to trickle in around Africa's most populous nation showed a strong performance by opposition parties, but in remote areas such as the northeastern state of Borno on the fringe of the Sahara, ballot papers were fetched by horse. At a collation centre in Karo on the outskirts of Abuja, officials called out numbers above the hum of generators. Party representatives diligently noted the down the figures in exercise books and added them up. Each of around 120,000 polling units counted and announced their results in front of voters on Saturday and observers were watching to see whether those figures were faithfully reflected at the centralised counts. "Most of the numbers announced at the polling booths are the same as those read out in the collation centres, so the results so far are open, fair and justified," said Chinedu Michael, an observer from the Nigerian Committee on the Defence of Human Rights in the commercial capital Lagos. President Goodluck Jonathan's ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) is expected to see its parliamentary majority weaken, coming under strong pressure from the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the southwest and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in parts of the north. "The ACN is leading in the Senatorial and House of Representatives race in most states in the southwest," Michael said in Lagos, based on feedback from his colleagues. LITMUS TEST At the Karo counting centre it was clear that the CPC was edging out the PDP across most wards being collated there. There were no complaints or sign of cheating, though minor discrepancies were challenged in a laborious process. Ruling party representative Theodore Ochei said he was disappointed the PDP had lost in his ward at the centre of Abuja, but not in the election itself. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2011/04/10/nigeria-elections-idUKLDE73902R20110410 |

What a move Lewis pulled on Schumi and Buemi! Wow! |
If you are interested in developing crossplatform for Apple, Linux, Windows etc; go qt. However, if your target platform is Windows (it almost always is), then don't even think twice, your only sensible choice is to go for .NET. No framework out there matches .NET for richness and productivity; its the ultimate RAD framework. Among IDE's too, Visual Studio has no competition, it simply blows everything away. Check out WPF and Windows Forms if you use qt for GUI only. Also, you can bring your C++ knowledge with you; .NET is compatible with ANSI C++ and the Microsoft bridge version, C++/CLI. |

dapachez:Bullet is too small for aboki from dos areas na! They use bombs from al qaeda to kill innocent Northerners: Speaking to newsmen on Friday at the St. Gerald Hospital, Kaduna, where he was receiving treatment, Mohammed said he was told by his friend, Yahaya, who died during the explosion, that they used to get bombs from Afghanistan and that it was Osama bin Laden that used to send the consignment to them.http://www.tribune.com.ng/sat/index.php/news/3824-we-got-the-bomb-from-osama-bin-laden-kaduna-bomb-suspect.html |
Rossikk:Word. ![]() GEJ has given his word, provided the tools and delivered. Jega had no reason to fail last week, because GEJ had given him all that he required; he was also shortlisted from a bunch of highly independent individuals that GEJ knew would deliver his dream of free and fair elections for the country. Welldone GEJ, welldone Jega. A standard has been created for elections by men who truly care for the country. @Ezeuche. Thanks. |
^ I am sure mere threats are the same as bombing to you. Such twisted logic is the reason some people slash babies heads open in Jos, in their twisted minds, it is just revenge for the death of a cow. |
Bombs = Born to Rule. They have failed to stop the elections as was their plan. . . Aboki cabal, killing innocent Northerners. Bloody murderers. |
