Chrisbenogor:I have noticed that you talk through your stinking arse 99% of the time: Officials said the blast appeared to be a bomb which struck a day after one person died in a bomb blast in Kaduna.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13021093 You are a fool, but don't realise it. You blamed the PDP earlier, not so? Now that you've learnt that PDP was amongst the targets, you're talking crap about "dividing people." |
Pataki:You are lying. Maybe you are forgetting that the first Suleja bomber was caught, because he is a CPC member like yourself? Mohammed Lado (CPC) remains in custody for the bombing that killed 11 children at a PDP rally: http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/18555-suleja-bomb-blast-court-remands-cpc-assembly-candidate-in-sss-custody |
For those fools blaming PDP, there are PDP members among the dead. No other party lost lives; so smarter folk would look toward PDP's rivals and those who have promised to make the country ungovernable and have vowed to foil the elections to stop GEJ, because he is a Southerner. |
Arrest all Ciroma and all NPLF members, IBB, Atiku, Northernern Stakeholders, all Northern generals that attended the NPLF meeting, Kaita and every Northerner that has promised to make the country ungorvernable. ![]() |
muami:Yes, its all about the bloody core-Northern cabal headache of wanting a Northerner. . . Any Northerner (or core-Northern tool) to rule the country. Sadly, that same wretched mentality caused Buhari to hold 90% of his rallies in his Northern strongholds; he hardly bothered about the Middle Belt and South. Shamefully, he didn't even see Lagos as important enough for a rally. We have had enough of that crap. |
Is he not the same person who loudly claimed that Abacha didn't steal, whereas the dude stole in Billions? Its so easy for some types to tell lies (even the most ridiculous ones)! ![]() I'm just waiting for Jonathan to sign the Freedom of Information bill (FOI), then it will become totally impossible for the likes of Buhari to run for office at any level, talkless of telling blatant lies. Poor Buhari is so good at lying that he couldn't even give a good reply for why he cancelled the Lagos metro rail project (most likely, because the federal capital was moving to the North). |
Malaysian Grand Prix - Webber is fastest in first practice! . . .And I mean fastest by a whopping 1.6 seconds! Lewis is 2nd, Massa's Ferarri is a 2.8 secs off Webber and Alonso a full 3 secs! Looks like game over this weekend, but 2nd practice will begin in a few minutes, so we'll see. |
PHCN staff will go on strike if… NewsApr 7, 2011 Lagos – Workers in the electricity sector, Thursday, in Lagos insisted they would go on strike should the Federal Government liquidate the power sector without settling their entitlements. Mr Bede Opara, President, Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC) told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the workers still stand by their words. “We are still waiting for the government to call us for a parley. “But the day the committee announces the posting of staff of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) or its winding down, we will shut the sector,’’ he said. He, however, expressed the hope that before the committee on privatisation of the PHCN would conclude its job, all issues on workers welfare would have been resolved. NAN recalls that in March, SSAEAC and the National Union of Electricity Employee (NUEE) rejected the committee set up by the Presidential Action Committee to liquidate the PHCN. They alleged that the committee was illegal, unconstitutional, unacceptable and had no legal power to discuss the issues of the sector. Opara also queried the statement by the Minister of State for Power, Mr Nuhu Wya that PHCN workers would not benefit from the new Minimum Wage recently signed into law by President Goodluck Jonathan. “I do not know if we do not work for the same government and are we not Nigerians. Don’t we have up to 50 staff in the PHCN? “I do not know why the Minister said we can not benefit from the new minimum wage,’’ the SSAEAC president asked. The Minister of State had argued that the PHCN workers were already being paid higher salaries than the civil servants. “The N18,000 minimum wage is for civil servants and not for a company like PHCN,’’ Wya said http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/04/phcn-staff-will-go-on-strike-if%e2%80%a6/ |
10cirenoh:The Niger Delta is the most polluted wetlands in the World. Go figure. Instead of worrying about militants, why not cure the problem by moving away from enslaving some people, to true federalism? Yar Adua spent $3.3billion arming JTF, what did it fetch? The amnesty programme nobody asked for? It is always cheaper to solve problems than patch them. |

Is Buhari the one that will teach you and Beaf the difference between GDP (ppp) and GDP/capita Or teach you two that Ibori stealing $3 billion+ from Delta is bad? ![]() Rather than consulting Buhari, I'd suggest opening up a book. Or even Wikipedia will do the trick. . .
You're such a dunce, it must give you a headache. You took bad belle from a thread where you were proved to be arguing stupidly and brought it here.
It should be quite easy to convince a local fisherman who cannot catch enough fish to feed his family because of the said oil spills to become a commercial fisherman - especially if he'll catch more fish and make more money. What is stopping local entrpreneurs from developing this industry? We know the governors are thieves.
Dude, I'm at pains to understand why you keep yarning OP like this. We are talking about revenue allocation, not job creation. You have purposely come in to derail the thread. I am sure your fishing advise will work fine for Lake Chad though, when we move to true federalism. |
Most Nigerians understand that the common people of the ND and the almajiris are the most marginalized Nigerians. We all should be ashamed of the plight of these people. Now, your governors have received over $100billion in the past few years. Do you know how many local fishermen could have been employed if only a minute portion of the funds were used to develop the fishing industry? You people could be supplying fish to all of Africa and beyond while employing hundreds of thousands of local fishermen. Where does the buck stop?
Save your crocodile tears and proffer your ridiculous suggestions to your state whose citizens make much much much less money than Delta states. ![]() We are already doing fine, thank you. After Lagos, the next two most industrialised states are Rivers and Delta, we just wanna take care of the polution and kick cabal parasites off our back. And its just a matter of time. ![]() |

Learn how to generate billions from the fishing industry and stop hiding behind oil spills in order to line up and collect welfare.
You running away? . . .But sir! You said our people are lazy na! So, I just wanted to do a straight comparison between your state (Jigawa) and mine (Delta). No? ![]() |
What fishing industry are you talking about? How many ocean going liners dedicated to fishing, crabbing, lobster harvesting do you have in the region? Which oil spillage destroyed this virgin industry as far as your region is concerned. I think you people are better off developing in these areas than to keep depending on handouts from the government. Lazyiness is partly responsible for your demise.
Lol! Its so easy to talk nonsense. ![]() Please point out your state on the map, ours (me and Jason123) is Delta. Lets know how well off you are comparatively.
If Nigeria splits, is a BIG IF, so I will not entertain that line of thought for now. What else have you and your governors done with the billions of dollars received to date? Have you developed your agric sector, for example? No, you people were starving because of onion shortage a few weeks ago. All you have excelled in to date is oil bunkering and receiving welfare checks from primarily, offshore oil. olodo What is GEJ's plan to cure the country of the Dutch disease? Oshiomhole's idea is well grounded and well thought-out.
You are a failure at reasoning. Look through the thread and tell me if you can find any sandpit reasoning of the sort you are introducing. Please, pass by if you are clueless. In a proper federal system, even your state that you proudly feel is immune to productivity will become productive. ![]() |
Kobojunkie:Was 3rd Mainland Bridge built during your so called recession or not? Perhaps, the builder (IBB) has a higher IQ than Buhari. As usual, you are full of empty winds. |
Let the lazy people from the so-called South South clamouring for 100% resource control be reminded that 90 - 95% of all crude exported out of Nigeria in the last 10 years is from offshore. Even with your 100% resource control, you will still remain poor due to your laziness and the continuous theft of your leaders such as Ibori and governors. Now, the 90% export from offshore belong to all of us, shikena! You people who disagree with Oshiomhole appear to be narrow minded.
If Nigeria splits today, where will "offshore" be? Secondly, bro, do you know the meaning of "littoral zone?" If you call South South people lazy, what would you say about Nigeria that can't survive without free oil? Abeg, go and sit down! |
recoome:Exactly bro! There was even a map to explain things in elementary fashion. . . but the "clever" chap couldn't even understand it (when even a baboon would have found it easy). ![]() |
@Beaf, ok I just saw you already provided some points. exactly!
Nice ones from you too. There is one very important word I picked from your post, its "creativity." The concept of creativity is entirely missing in Nigeria, cos its been drowned by the mad scramble for oil money in Abuja. I'm still struggling to get over the shock that the horrible revenue sharing suggestion came from Oshiomhole who I consider to be one of the smartest governers. On quite a few occasions, I've posted a worryingly huge list of cities that make more money than Nigeria. They can do that, not because they have oil wells, but because they have employed creativity and organisation to generate huge wealth. Nigeria can replecate the same, afterall, its natural to copy successful models when one wishes to succeed. I am quite sure nobody in the ND would argue with setting up a huge fund to finance revenue generating ideas for other regions. You never even know when the favour will be returned (Detroit, like you suggested). The fact though, is that we cannot afford to keep patching the leak in the hope that it will go away; instead we will reap even more violence and perhaps all out war or anarchy. Our oil fuelled revenue/patronage system is creaking at the seams is bound to explode violently in the near future, if something isn't done quickly enough. Everything from comparative poverty in the North to slaughters in Jos and massive corruption can easily be traced back to our faulty federal and revenue structures. |
timbuk two:I don't know if you are being deliberately shy to learn, sir. But Ipsos is not a branch of ThisDay, in fact it is totally ridiculous to even aver such. You need to educate yourself, cos your arguments are completely tragic and up the wall. Ipsoshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipsos Ipsos is the 5th biggest market research company in the World, generating in excess of a billion dollars from sales of scientifically accurate statistics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipsos#Top_10_of_the_Market_Research_Sector_2009 Comparing John Campbell to Ipsos is as ridiculous as comparing a pack of baboons to PhD holding Havard University researchers. |
Eziachi:Fail again! ![]() The bolded is like someone saying that 3rd Mainland Bridge doesn't generate business opportunities and development. Laughable. If you don't understand the basics of development, you will never grasp the importance of the metro and how many million in taxes it would indirectly generate every blessed day (even simply from easing traffic). That is aside from profits from ticket sales. So, the rest of your post is way below par. . . You know the drill! ![]() |
Gbawe:Stop being silly. Don't even try to patronise ND people in your pack of lies. |
recoome:Thanks jare! I exposed eku_bear as a right fool on another thread a couple of days ago, when he was arguing out of his smelly arse (as usual); thats whats bugging him and causing him to make cowardly attacks in tiny size fonts. |
^-- Some questions for you: 1) Who would want a financial burden to merge with them? Keep in mind that all but a few states have very low internally generated revenue, and thus are heavily dependent on gov't allocations. 2) For a state to "pay taxes" to the center, it needs to have something to be taxed, no? How many states actually have this? 3) For many state, IGR is at 10% or less. How should they replace that 90% of lost revenue, in the short term (and in the long term)? I'm fine with 100% resource control, but then we may as well partition the country. Otherwise there is no real incentive to remain one.
If 100% resource control will make vultures fly away, then the sooner they leave, the better. ![]() To remind you; your state has mineral resources that can be developed (http://www.ekiti.com/AboutEkiti/resources.htm) and a very beautiful landscape that is fit for tourism (http://www.ekiti.com/AboutEkiti/tourist.htm). Tourism is the third largest employer in 29 US states: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourism_in_the_United_States Only the laziest minds cannot imagine an economy without oil money. |
Eziachi:Fail! You are broke, but have a business plan that can give you 1000 times the money you put in. You convince someone about your profit margin, they buy into it and even supply a manager and the finance. . . Everything is warming up nicely for you. . . .Big boss comes along, kicks out the builders and shuts out the finance provider, because he is shortsighted. ![]() Not good. All anyone need do is think about how much business and explosive development the metro would have generated. |

Do you want progress for your state or do you wish to keep scrounging? It is the same even for ND states. Who cares about any FG revenue sharing formula that is only about selling us poison, because it will bring a quick and temporary high? If there wasn't this backward sharing of money from Abuja, Nigeria would not be the corrupt place it is; Nigeria would most likely have been developed; lives would not be taken by bombs in do-or-die politics in the scramble for Aso Rock; nobody would erase ND communities from the map; nobody would ra'pe both the young and the old; men like Saro Wiwa would still be alive.
