The $2.8billion has NEVER been refuted, but thats another story. I don't see the purpose of banning phones at polling booths, any rigging is likely to be done by high tech means this time anyway. It doesn't make sense. I've searched high and low for the news though, and not come up with anything remotely resembling the story. This is what the IG said, according to Vanguard, until someone can counter with a firm link, I will assume this thread is just propagating mischief: Keep your distance from polling booths – IGP NewsMar 26, 2011
By Kingsley Omonobi, Abuja The Police will not allow anyone at polling stations after voting in the April polls but may “stay at a reasonable distance from the voting centre.” The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Hafiz Ringim said yesterday that this was part of the effort to keep the peace during the election. Mr. Ringim, at a meeting with DIGs, AIGs and Police Commissioners said: “First of all, I want to assure all Nigerians that every vote will count. We will not allow you to vote, stay around and cause problems”. “However, any one that votes and wants to ensure that the votes are not tampered with, is allowed to stay at a reasonable distance from the voting centre, so that he or she does not constitute a threat. We will not allow you to vote, stay around the polling station and cause problems”. “In the build up to the elections, we have faced major security situations with events that posed serious threats to national security. We have done our best in those situations and we hope to do our best in the proper election exercise. I must however warn against partisanship by any police/security personnel in the course of prosecuting the election. The force will not tolerate any act of unpatriotism on the part of anyone” “Police officers attached to government functionaries, state chief executives, federal ministers and members of the national assembly as well as security details must maintain the briefs of their postings. Escort duties on election days must be scaled down and restricted accordingly”. “For the avoidance of doubt, with the exception of Mr. President, Governors/Deputy Governors, Senate President/Deputy Senate President, Speaker/Deputy Speaker, whose ADCs’ will be duly directed on their expected conduct during elections, all other government functionaries; ministers, members of the national assembly, etc, will be accompanied by only one police security to cast their votes after which they will return to their homes”. “On no account should anyone irrespective of their status, be allowed to parade about with police or any other form of security at polling booths or other electoral centre’s. Policemen or personnel of other security agencies found on such escort duty should be promptly arrested. Similarly, movements be politicians accompanied by retinue of political aides or thugs are equally prohibited and should not be allowed around polling venues”. “Command Commissioners of Police should therefore ensure that all VIP’s security personnel within their states adhere to these directives. Squadron Commanders should be directed to take note of this as well”. Emphasizing that the senior officers have the full support of the Police administration and that of the federal government in the onerous responsibility, the IG told them, “Entertain no interference, be professional, be strong, be fair but please be firm. Employ the full weight of your authority under the electoral act and all other subsisting laws in executing this election as we must get it right this time”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/03/keep-your-distance-from-polling-booths-igp/Go to the polling station with your phone. |

Questions for Mohammed Buhari
For our mindless and greedy supporters of Buhari, could you please ask him these questions for all of Nigeria? These questions will expose your man for the flake and fake he truly is.
1. Why did Nigeria got dragged, kicking and screaming into OIC? Does Buhari know full well that Nigeria is also majorly Christian nation? Does Buhari support the idea of Nigeria in OIC and for what reason?. Is all of Nigeria being primed for gradual conversion to Islam?
2. An Ijaw man from the old Eastern region is, by the stroke of good luck or providence the substantive president of Nigeria today. The first time anybody from the East ever held that top position since after that war. Why is Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba cabal having a cow now? Why is the north and west so angry? Why do they not want to see an Ijaw man as president? Is it hard to stomach power shift, especially to the East? Isn't it? The people from the cabal has held power for the past 45-50 years. What did they do for Nigeria? Squat, nothing. . .
3. Ask Buhari about the inferno that is Jos, Plateau State. Ask him about Boko Haram, Mutallab, Kalakato and Maitatsine. What caused this never ending brutal infernos? Is this killing dungeon between non-Muslims and Muslims or are there any other explanations. The Hausa/Fulani cabal have neither the will nor the common sense to halt or control the bloodletting in northern Nigeria especially in Jos. To them, it’s for a purpose. They fire in Jos will burn for a thousand years, until non-Muslims become tired and convert.
4. As a born Muslim and raised in Sharia, can he ever become a true Democrat? Democrats all over the world are skeptical. Democracy as the world, especially the western world, know it to be, is not perfect. Some of Democracy's loftiest goals - the right to free speech, right to have a God or no God, inalienable right of women, right to education for all, due process under the rule of law and the same law, are all antithetical to Sharia. What is Buhari going to do? http://www.elombah.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5799:buhari-again-not-now-nor-ever&catid=25:politics&Itemid=92 |

noblezone: The man' hard work to see true democracy at work by building an INEC that is truely independent is remarkable. Even if he doesnt do any other thing, that is enough. Yet, I know that a lot has been achieved. Since his days, high profile killings has stopped. The media is so free and does not have the goverment breathing down their necks, Steady availability of petroluem products which hiterto proved impossible, and no interference in the affairs of the Judicary are all pointers that we have a leader that we need. Yet, I know that the BB fanfare has blinded many that even white will turn black.
When Mr President was critized for bringing back Nigerians who were trapped in Eygpt, was when I concluded that Ngieria is really sick and might not recover.
What many of you dont realise yet is this: Head or tail, Jonathan "wins". Loosing to Buhari will not be his end, rather that will equally elavet his status as a states man, and the world will honour him for being such a great heart. The man is commited to a free and fair elections. We all have our convinctions, let us do our part and leave the rest for God and those in authority. I have made up my mind, to accept Jega's results whether in favour of or against Jonathan. Every other person should have the same mind set., but if you guys prefere that Nigeria must burn simply beause your candidate lost, then be my guests. Who knows, while Ngieria is burning, Biafra might arise and that to fall no more. Happy weekend to you all. Word. Most of those who blindly criticise are people that were bumped off their lucrative jobs, stealing petroleum products. Well, their ranks will soon swell, cos PHCN folk and the generator mafia will soon be joining in. Regardless of what the no-hopers say, Nigeria will make impressive strides under GEJ. The gas master-plan is something to be applauded, cos its been known for decades that Nigeria can make much more money from gas and ancillary industries to the petroleum sector. It is envisaged that our income will multiply by 7, from $102billion to a whopping $687billion with GEJ's detailed plans. GEJ is da man. |
Politics › Re: Is It True That The Nw And Ne Have The Best Roads In Nigeria? by Beaf: 9:31am On Mar 26, 2011 |
dinachi: I dont want to say you are an asshole @ beaf. If Buhari spent PTF money in the north, what of the NDDC money in the Niger Delta? Why cant they use it for their roads? Dude, forget about the Niger Delta. This is what Yoruba people have said about Buhari and his PTF. It is absolutely pathetic, chew on this and call yourself an asshole: How Buhari Skewed PTF Projects in Favor of His Northern Zone- By Afenifere
The Abacha regime created a parallel government through the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) headed by Major General Muhammed Buhari. Nothing else typifies the marginalization of the Yoruba than the lopsidedness of the projects carried out by the PTF. Figures from PTF Situation Reports (Vol. 2 Dec. 98) show that the PTF carried on as if there was no South West.
Of all the roads rehabilitated by the PTF, only 1984.5 kilometres of roads representing 10.84 per cent were carried out in the South West; from where the bulk of the PTF revenue came since the zone consumes over 60 per cent of refined petroleum products. All the Southern States had 4,440.43 kms or 24 per cent of road rehabilitation as against 13,870.47 kms or 76 per cent in the Northern States zone three comprising the North-West States of Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara had a lion share of 5020 kms or 27.42 per cent because the Fund’s Chairman, Buhari and the military dictator Sani Abacha were from there; zone four comprising the North-East States of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe picked 23.48 per cent. This is the zone where Salihijo Ahmed, the late Chief Executive of Afri-Project Consortium APC, the sole consultants that supervised all PTF projects came from.
Figures in other sectors were more scandalous. For instance, under the National Health and Educational Rehabilitation Programme (NHERP), the South West had zero allocation in the tertiary programme, while the North picked 100 per cent. In the vocational programme, the South West had zero while the North had 97 per cent. In the primary area, the South-West had zero against 88 per cent for the North and in the secondary area, it was zero for the South-West and 86 per cent for the North.
The health sector is similar. For the Teaching Hospitals, the South-West had zero while the North had 62 per cent. For the Specialist Hospitals, it was zero for the South-West and 71 per cent for the North; in General/State Hospitals the Yoruba had nothing while the North had 56 per cent for health clinics, it was zero for the South-West against the North’s 100 per cent.
Under the food supply summary, the Southwest had 7.26 per cent compared with 83 per cent for the North, Buhari’s zone having 60.54 per cent to itself.
Demographic Manipulation: The Northern wielders of power have skewed all demographic indicators to marginalise the Yoruba and confer undue advantage on the North. For instance, while the old Kano and Lagos used to have the same number of divisions, various demographic manipulations over the years have brought about absurd disparities between the two states. While the old Lagos remains a state with 20 local governments, the old Kano has become two states-Kano and Jigawa with 77 local governments. These are some of the indices used for revenue sharing.

I hope we can now finally get some clear air on Ivory Coast and fry Gbagbo's arse with ordinance. GEJ is also scoring huge victories over that clown (Zuma) in SA that had his bath to prevent AIDS. For whatever reason (perhaps just to spite Nigeria), Zuma has been blocking moves to resolve the Ivorian crisis, to the extent of sending a warship to anchor at in Abidjan. The one skill the man needs though, is diplomacy, because with all his crude posturing, SA was roundly defeated at the AU. However the joke is that PTF completed more projects in the South than Ompadec.
25% of N1m is bigger than 100% of nothing. Is this a joke or something? Who wants to be that kind of slave? The roads up North are indeed, very beautiful compared to anywhere in the South. Part of the reason is dry weather, but by far the greater reason is due to Buhari's billions from the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) which was spent almost entirely in the North.
