manny4life: Beaf, I will argue for Mr. President where I have to, I will rebuke where I have to. I do acknowledge we have a problem between North/South, that's obvious already but that's not my point. While I do not acknowledge he committed treason of any sought, in my opinion, his comments "though true" but were not warranted.

Mr. President did solemnly swore an Oath of Office, Allegiance to uphold and defend the unity of Nigeria, expressing any form of doubts regarding the foundation or after the foundation or during the journey where we are today is uncalled for and unwarranted. Rather than express doubts, express optimism.

My point is that the President shouldn't express such comments at all, he could use anyone in his cabinet, or even ask people in Congress to address the issue, after that he does damage control. That's what politics is all about.
As to the bolded. If you were sold a house with a poor foundation, would defending it from armed robbers and miscreants mean would ignore the problem with the foundation? Or would you tell the family whom the building is meant to protect and secure that there is an issue with the foundation which must be fixed so that you aren't all crushed when it caves in?

Jonathan has done the proper thing by dropping a subtle hint of his direction of thought. It is left for us to run with it and fix the cracks and leaks in the foundation, before we get swallowed up.

Why can't you just STFU and mind your damn business... This isn't about Jamaica!! What do you know about Nigeria?? Just because you sleep on a Nigerian forum don't give you the rights to join every discourse about Nigeria - and spew ignorance... The last time I checked, Jamaicans are not the most intelligent stock... Worry about your country!!
She knows more about Nigeria than you do. She has more of a feel for Black issues than you do.

fyneguy: If a problem started FROM 1914, it means there was a problem ''IN 1914''.

Mr President should please tell us the problem we had in 1914.
IMHO, that is an issue for national discussion.
We need an SNC that will either forge us into an indivisible nation or see us going our seperate ways in peace. GEJ has hinted at the widening of the constitutional amendment committee to include wider ethnic representation. Way to go. cool

shymmex: When did I ever say a whitey is superior to me on NL - when I'm the same guy who talks about about great the Yoruba culture is, and an Afrocentrist to the core... Heck, I don't even believe in the Whiteman's religion... FYI, I have never rated a whitey, and I'll never do - because the greatest civilization known to mankind was BUILT on the African continent, by my ancestors... grin grin grin grin

How is my identity peckham, when Epe, and the great Yoruba tribe is all I talk about on NLhuh FYI, Oduduwa is all I pledge allegiance to - and I could care less about a union jack, and the horrors of slavery and colonization behind it...

I'm not scared of 1914, but if we're to play the blame game - let's do it the right way... The president is clueless, period.

Your smear campaign won't work.. Debate intelligently without name calling, and answer the damn questions...
Do you know where Epe is? Can you identify it if you were dropped there?

You have said it enough times that white people are better than you. You have always displayed an abysmally low self-esteem and like I said, that low self esteem is the same thing driving you into high fever whenever 1914 is mentioned.

Just come home and know your father compound, right now you are totally lost, totally lacking in culture and totally lacking in identity, that is why you think like an id!ot rhat the British viewpoint for our amalgamation (which was to exploit us) is something we should be singing halleluya about. How lost can one get? huh huh huh

Leave Peckham on the next plane and visit your village. Lost soul.

Keep flying the Union Jack. Ode!

manny4life: Madam Kobo, I did not say our president expressed doubt in the creation but "AFTER" the creation, there's a huge difference - Read my previous post. Yes, Congress can ask the President to resign for just about any reason, so if NASS wants to ask him to resign due to unguarded comments such as this, I won't be surprised.

Like I've ALWAYS stated, Mr. President mad unguarded, unwanted and unwarranted comments, it's highly uncalled for because these types of issues cause chaos, however, I'm of the opinion that he's comments did not constitute treason.
There was nothing uncalled for in GEJ's statement. If you have a problem, you first sincerely aknowledge it, before you can set about fixing it.
If GEJ's goal is to totally uproot the reasons for disunity, how can he do that without tackling the foundation?

In my opinion, it is a simple "get ready" hint we have been given. What unity do we even have when so called presidential candidates can talk about dogs and baboons covered in blood in the same breath as he mentioned democracy and elections? What unity do we have when a power struggle first becomes a North - South issue and then spills into bombing of innocents?

There is no point hiding our heads in the sand.

saintohia: It doesn't matter if that's what the president said in the present Nigeria. What counts is if it's true.

That amalgamation is one of the greatest fraud on earth by those running "Project Nigeria", ok.

Have u ever bothered to ask urself or imagine / anticipate how developed some part of the particle termed Nigeria would have been should they be existing as different nations since 1914?
Simple. I don't understand why anybody should be scared to hear the truth.
People can only be scared because thery have something to hide.

Many of those screaming are the sons of parasites and sponsors of boko haram who will fight biterly to ensure that the country never progresses, because progress dries up their sources of blood money.
More than anything, they do not wish that the common man gains knowledge, because it means they become equipped to throw off the parasites, vultures, dogs and baboons.

We need to talk about our shared existence for equity to reign.

shymmex: You're a dimwit!!! How the hell would I feel a whitey is superior to me when my life is ingrained in my African culture?? Olodo!!!

Yes, the Brits didn't complain because that was what they wanted, and they benefited from it...

Nigeria had a chance to choose what it wanted in 1959 - but why did our founding fathers choose Nigeria??

Southern Cameroon saw into the future, and opted out... We all could have done the same, so stop blaming 1914... The problem started in 1959, at the London conference...
You have always said white people are superior to you, its happened over and over on threads all over NL. It is that same low self-esteem that is scaring you shiitless at the mention of 1914.
You will keep asking stup!d questions, because your only identity is peckham and you have not seen fit to come home and know your village.

You don't count, thrash around as you like, a man without an identity is a waste to his country. Phuck off and fly the Union Jack.

4evergod3: Porky just to test your intelligence..... you said the british used divide and rule tactics. Could you possibly explain what their divide and rule tactic meant and how they were able to do this?
Fool, if you do not know the meaning of divide and rule then you are truly as stup!d as a piece of shiit.
Keep repping your messangers of blood, death and indolence and not learning what the simplest terms mean.

Why are the lovers of the status quo scared shiitless at the prospect of the re-engineering of our unity?
Why does it freeze the brains of the parasites and boko haram fans amongst us?
Why does the mention of 1914 make some pee themselves? Just asking. grin
Politics › Re: President Jonathan's Speech At Enugu Is Treasonable by Beaf: 2:20pm On May 20, 2012
shymmex: Why do you care if I ever lived in Nigeria or not?? The last time I checked, you don't have to live in Nigeria to be a proud Nigerian... I can proudly say I'm more Nigerian than most of the posters on NL who actually live in Nigeria - and I know more about Nigeria than them...

Just answer the question, mate. grin

- Was Southern Cameroon part of Nigeria in 1914 - YES or NO??

- Did the Brits ever complain about the country they amalgamated from 1914-1960 - YES or NO??

- Did we have a chance in 1959 to undo the union - just like Southern Cameroon in 1960 - YES or NOhuh
Do you actually expect the British would have complained about their divide and rule tactics. You are daft, bro.
Come home and learn about your village instead of reciting crap you learnt in your British school. You are lost and without an identity, you believe whites are better than you, so how can you even understand 1914?

Dude, 1914 is about discussing identity, which you sadly lack. Learn where your village is first before making a fool of yourself and asking daft questions.

4evergod3: Porky Multiculturalism is the order of the day now in most countries. Hell USA is built on it and they overcame their problems even the so called racist United Kingdom has embraced it and here you are taking sides with a man who cannot see what direction time is moving. Perhaps you are just like him as they say birds of a feather,.........
I expect answers that are actually intelligent. Are you a kid or what?

Only a fool would equate multiculturalism with exploitation and unashamed parasitism.
Why do you represent parasites? And why do you think your people should be kept as slaves and almajiri's forever? Why do you represent evil and death?

1914 is the problem, now lets deal with it. If we do not talk today, we will war tomorrow.

Again:
Why are lovers of the status quo scared shiitless when they hear 1914? Just asking. grin
Politics › Re: President Jonathan's Speech At Enugu Is Treasonable by Beaf: 2:10pm On May 20, 2012
shymmex: I think the OP said it's treasonable because the polity is hot right now - and the president of the country shouldn't make that type of statement, when everyone is clamouring for disintegration... It's just like adding fuel to fire IMO...

The president has also shown that he doesn't really think before he speaks.. Statements like that would only heat up the polity IMO.
Sadly, your opinion doesn't count.
Especially as you specialise in running silly commentaries from peckam, without thinking it is necessary to come home to know your village and learn your culture.

How many weeks of your life have you spent in Nigeria if ever?
Politics › Re: President Jonathan's Speech At Enugu Is Treasonable by Beaf: 2:06pm On May 20, 2012
4evergod3: Dude even a JSS1 student knows the problems of Nigeria. Identifying a problem is halfway to solving it. Even GEJ knows the problem of Nigeria. The issue he is having now is the issue of solving it. He is mysteriously clueless in that regard.

Before the Oil boom we had agriculture right? who talked about North and south back then? nobody! simply because the basic needs of the average Nigerian was being met. Here comes the Oil boom and suddenly greed and selfishness pervades the land and that usshers in the ugly struggle for power heralding the birth of PDP. That is your problem. NOW SOLVE IT!
That is what needs correcting. No country survives on parasitism, as it is Nigeria has almost sucked its own vitality to the bone, led by lovers of the status quo like yourself, who represent parasitic indolence and want the country just the way it is.
Why would the mention of 1914 cause such distress in you if you are productive? It would only cause pains if you are a parasite and security threat. Seen?

Ain't you a lover of the status quo? A parasite and awuf luv'n fuckwit who has nothing to offer but death by bombs? Ain't you the messenger of thieves and extorters who regularly threaten the peace loving ones amongst us with bloodshed?

Why are you scared of the mention of 1914 if you think your contribution to the economy and our security are worth a goats fart?

virgo: Interesting debate. I think everyone has a point but @Kobojunkie, get rid of the condescending tone in your argument because for someone who is attacking people for their lack of English language skills, your grammar is not so impressive. Cue - "Wasting both our times..."
Kobojunkies English is a study in cut and join. Proper vulcaniser style tosh. I cracked the joke below earlier on this thread:

Beaf: Don't you see that kobojunkie speaks English like a vulcaniser? He is only expressing his misunderstanding of the use of English words.
A typical kobojunkie sentence:
"What we know is this that, that is why the way you are saying this is not the way that this should be said."

Okongu!

Vulcanisers go wound pikin go with laf o! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
...And kobojunkie immediately confirmed with:

Kobojunkie: Good to see the predictable remains so!
Classic!

Kobojunkie: A LandLord criticizing the design and construction of the kitchens in his building is NOT the same as the Landlord expressing doubts in the very foundation of his building . . . I hope that helps you. If you went to rent a home and the LandLord tells you he is not sure the foundation of the house is right, I am guessing you would probably look elsewhere.
You've always been on the daft side, bro.

Whenever you build a house and you find out that the foundation needs shoring up, simply do nothing, because you are the landlord. If any of your neighbours or tenants tells you they've noticed a problem, get your hoards of maniacally red-eyed fools to beat 7 devils out of them.

...Deny until the day the phucked up "mansion" falls on you you and your loved ones, crushing all in its path.

Deny, because you are a coward and liar, a lover of the status quo pretending to be an angel of light.

Olodo.
