BusinessRe: What Does It Take For Me To Work While Staying At Home? by beau1(f): 12:25pm On Jul 20, 2010
Hello here,

To simply answer ur question; what it takes to work while staying at home is to make up ur mind that u want to work.

Not just to work but u want to earn money cos there's a lot of difference btw activity and produc-tivity.

Then you've got to desire an area of work and like ACIDOSIS says look for a way or create one (paraphrased).

And determine to succeed in it even if some have not. Dont think any field can be too saturated for newcomers -
wat matters is ur expertise and creativity!

So many businesses abound that you can start at home and start small.

l think the national minimum wage law says N7,500.
MyPeace:
long time!!! another thread is taking my time!

l think the national minimum wage law says N7,500. There is no specific amount attached to any position in the private sector as long as its above the minimum wage and the applicants accepts to collect it, then no wahala. lt all depends on what you can aford to pay. Again, salary differs from industry to industry. What a secretary/PA collects in an oil industry will surely be different from Banking industry and this your Agric industry.
As l said there is no generic salary structure.
Hello here, this minimum wage you are referring to is only applicable in the public sector (not private) where the workers enjoy some other privileges that are not available in the private sector. Besides, public workers everywhere are crying for wage review/increase; so I dont see why anybody should use N7,500 now.

I think what prd wants is for you guys in the private sector to give idea of remunerations in your offices depending on the years of experience pple have. Knowing fully well that entry level pay of N25,000 in 2006 is not applicable now in 2010.

Generally, I think prd should think of the economic situation and offer something that will encourage whoever gets the job at the end of the day as such will boost morale and in turn encourage productivity and better turnover.

Cheers all!

hi mypeace, i think wat's important is being in ur dream job with a pay dat can actually take u home. u know wat i mean tongue. i dont think u wasted ur time n effort - u just added to ur experience portfolio. only the person dat never tries is the one dat we can associate WASTE with. it happened to me too. as per lasu, if it favors u, pls go for it. some of these things na 'bogus names'. wats important in life is to be rightly positioned and to have God's favor, if u have these, ur disadvantage will become an advantage and a plus!

do hv a lovely day, cheers!

That's a non-issue by the way cos i saw the discussion and as far as i know once the apology has been made and the person who started the discussion too has accepted his blame, which one concern 'agbero' with overload? (Pardon me, please)

Hi teena, Thanks so much. My exams were fine. I really didn't have time to prepare besides, i didn't feel bad cos the questions came outside my scope of study and expectation. I know getting a higher degree is a must and i must get there.
