Politics / Re: Obasanjo Still Remains The Best Ever! by beavers007(m): 10:02am On May 25, 2009
Backslider:

Sorry Oh my brother Ikeyman00

Igbo I have corrected myself.

Now help me who is a true Igbo and please cant you find a way where we can kill off all yorubas?

@ more important issues

The fact is that OBJ is one man individually I respect not just as a president but as a true patriot.

The thing with most soldiers is that they are not good with public relation and this is where OBJ got his "stubbornness" from.

To my mind Obasanjo has done well in so many areas and if we look at the areas of power supply where all Nigerians sit on the Judgment seat to Judge him without any empirical evidence of theft of our money.

Now Obasanjo is a unionist and so he looks at Nigeria from a unitary point of view. He fought as a soldier to unite Nigeria and criticized babangida and Abacha in his days in ota before he went to prison. Abacha knew the strength of OBJ and decided to deal with OBJ.

OBJ was kept in solitary confinement for 4 years and given the beating of his life. I thought that OBJ would die soon  after he left but alas he came out and became the president. One thing that strikes me is that this man that was tortured and treated badly by the army he loved and country he fought for did not witch hunt the army.

I was surprised to see in the dailies that he OBJ was presenting a flag to Sanni Abacha's Son on behalf of his father.

GENERAL OBASANJO IS A GREAT SOLDIER ELDER STATESMAN.

Now to the Power issue.

OBJ was too eager to solve the problem and he thought spending the money will solve the problem. He underestimated Nigerians he probably thought there were still righteous Nigerians in the majority the way he left power in the late 70's.

He never made any mistake in putting Yaradua nope I disagree. In the civil service we have a brigade of looters that they so sophisticated that you would wonder.

My Problem with Obj rather is the fact that he failed to see that he needed to have built a militant few. He should have focused on a core of Nigerians.

When building a new society you must work with a few and it will catch fire with the slothful lot. If you try to carry everybody along you are wasting your time. Nigeria has been corrupted and that was the problem. You can spend money to buy ten transformer and supply, if your technocrats say they are not good or they did not receive them what do you then?

Yar adua thinks moving slow and taking stock will help. Can you blame him? He wants to come out Good and have the semblance that he is not corrupt. Some people reputation is worth their life to them. To OBJ he did not care and if you listened to the interview Obj had on hard talk you would get what I am saying.

Insightful presentation here! I think you hit the nail on the head.

Politics / Re: Good Things Happening In Nigeria by beavers007(m): 3:40pm On May 20, 2007
Nigeria is far better now than in Nigeria for most Nigerians. There is some good amount of liquidity in the country.

Check this:Doctors and Lecturers earned about 15,000 naira in 99.Today, they earn hundreds of thousands every month.
Where were the telecom and banking jobs in 99? We all know how many of such jobs have been created.
Oh, don't forget that that call center girl at your street junction. Her turnover runs in hundreds of thousands monthly.

There is so much economic improvement in society today.
The problem now is infrastructural and social. These are major because no matter how much you earn, if you get ill and there's no hospital around, tooo bad.

So not only should government sit up, we the people must begin to make our environments better.

Properties / Re: Build A Flat In Abj Or Port Harcourt For Renting by beavers007(m): 10:50pm On May 18, 2007
In Port Harcourt that will barely buy you a plot of land in an area where expatraiites would live. I think Abuja would be a cheaper option. But then, 150,000 usd can't build you six flats+ land in .I think properties are very expensive in Nigeria. And they hardly ever worth thier value.

Mr pessimist. Let me recorroborate Ebeledi's question. What have you contributed to the development of your neighbourhood or street? Please, before you begin your illogical criticism, ask yourself why Studio Tinapa should have crane cameras on commisioning day when they aren't ready 2 start shooting movies there yet?

Business / Re: I Think I Need Some Business Partners! by beavers007(m): 11:26pm On Apr 19, 2007
eko4show:

if i get you write , you seem to need a "dummy" that would front for your impeccable genius. a mere extension of your brilliance and business prowess. somebody who may not understand the WHYs and WHATs of a stands for.

what do you take this forum for, a bunch of uneducated fellas i suppose,
Your argument lacks intelligence.

@general
All the folks calling it a "dummy partnership" have no idea what business is all about.
Someone comes up with an idea, he has all the technical expertise and is funding the project extensively, and he wants you to just come on board and offers you percentage of profits and you call that a dummy partnership because he says you would work for 3 months without pay.
Hmmm!If only you knew how benevolent and beneficial this offer is, you would jump on it.

@Seun
Anyways Seun, my advice, instead of making it a partnership, get a couple of volunteers to write and earn commisions based on revenues coming in. I even feel blogs are more interesting when they have a more personal touch, hence the blogger doesn't have to work full-time.Truly, a part -timer would do.

GNature:

Tinapa is a laudable project, no doubt, but a billion dollars yearly ? You sure about this ?
I was just trying to be conservative with figures.Actually, the projection is for 300 billion naira($2.3billion) as Londoncool stated.
Any be aware that those projections are from the very reputable KPMG.
I think with that kind of money, Cross riverians are made 4 ever!!!
