Phones / Foldable Iphone: Apple Orders Samples Of Samsung Foldable Phone Display by beejayvince(m): 7:32am On Sep 11, 2020
The Android world seems to be gravitating towards foldable phones. Apparently, Apple does not want to be left behind in this trend. The company has reportedly ordered a ‘large number’ of Samsung foldable mobile phone display samples.

This information was revealed by popular leakster Ice Universe on Weibo. According to the report, the foldable display orders by Apple will be samples for use in mobile phones. Samsung is expected to supply Apple with the units for a duration of one year.

There were reports last year that Samsung was shipping its foldable display technology to other companies. One of those companies was Apple. Apparently, Apple has tested the initial samples and is now ready to take a dive into the world of foldable phones.

This is not the first time that Samsung would supply Apple. The company has been providing OLED screens for iPhones. Now, Samsung is stepping up to dominate the foldable display market as a supplier as well. There were even reports that the company was looking to boost production to 10 million units a year depending on demand.

Apple’s work on the foldable display technology is not quite new. A few months ago, was saw some renders of a foldable iPhone concept. The company has also filed multiple patents regarding the technology.

If Ice Universe‘s report is anything to go by, then there is some sort of immediacy in Apple’s order. This may imply that the order is about to commence. In fact, some sources have proposed that we could see a foldable iPhone as early as 2021.

Phones / MediaTek Dimensity 1000C outperforms the Snapdragon 765G in Benchmark Test by beejayvince(m): 6:48am On Sep 11, 2020
MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000C is quite a powerful chipset. In fact, a new report has shown that the chip marginally outperforms rivals such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G and HiSilicon’s Kirin 820 chips.

The leak was shared on popular Chinese social media platform Weibo. The poster uploaded screenshots of the processor’s performance scores through benchmarks.

As seen on the benchmark scores, the Dimensity 1000C scored 601 points on Geekbench 5’s single-core test and 2,365 on the multi-core test. In comparison, the snapdragon 765G scores 607 in the single-core test but only manages 1,777 in the multi-core test.

The Dimensity 1000C is built on a 7nm process and features four ARM Cortex-A77 cores plus 4 ARM Cortex-A55 cores along with the Mali-G57 GPU. It uses a MediaTek AI Processing Unit (APU 3.0) that runs the smartphone’s AI cameras, voice assistant, and other applications.

The Dimensity 1000C is a mid-range chip, closer in performance to the Dimensity 800 series than to the flagship Dimensity 1000. It is interesting that it beats the Snapdragon 765 and rivals the Kirin 820.

Phones / Motorola RAZR 2020 Announced With 5G, A 2,800mah Battery, And A $1,400 Price Tag by beejayvince(m): 1:51am On Sep 10, 2020
Less than one year after the launch of the first Motorola RAZR foldable phone, the Lenovo-owned brand has now launched the new RAZR. This launch comes after months of waves of leaks and rumors.

The first-gen return of the Motorola RAZR came with issues that the company apparently fixed in this second-gen device. Even though this device looks a lot like the one launched months ago, it is quite different. The RAZR 2020 features a variety of improvements and upgrades.

The design of the new Motorola RAZR is somewhat sleeker than that of the one released months ago. It sports a 6.2-inch POLED display and a 2.7-inch external cover display. According to Motorola, the new hinge design can withstand up to 200,000 folds and unfolds. In terms of camera, it comes with a 48MP camera system with faster autofocus and improved low-light shots. Inside the device is a 20MP camera.

One of the most notable upgrades in the new RAZR is the support for 5G networks. It achieves this using the Snapdragon 765G chipset, the same chip used in the Motorola Edge and the LG Q92. A lot of people expected the phone to launch with the flagship Snapdragon 865 chip instead, considering its price tag of $1,400. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The new Motorola RAZR may not be totally water-resistant. In fact, it does not come with an official IP water-resistance rating. This is probably due to its hinge and foldable nature. However, to prevent damage from light water exposure, Motorola added a water-repellent coating inside and out.

The phone is powered by a 2,800mAh battery. This is an improvement over the older RAZR’s 2,510mAh battery, but we will have to see if that is good enough for the 5G support. It comes with a 15w charger. The company claims that it is an “all-day” battery. In due course, we will find out if that is indeed true.

Phones / Nokia 2.4 And Nokia 3.4 Specifications And Renders Leak by beejayvince(m): 12:18am On Sep 10, 2020
Over the past few weeks, there have been rumors and leaks of new Nokia phones. In fact, Nokia appears to have many phones in the works. So, it was surprising to see that HMD Global did not launch any Nokia phone at IFA 2020.

The latest Nokia phones to leak include the Nokia 2.4 and the Nokia 3.4. Popular leakster Evan Blas has revealed renders of both entry-level devices. From the renders, we see that both of the devices have the same button arrangement. They also both have rear-mounted fingerprint sensors.

However, the Nokia 2.4 and Nokia 3.4 do not look exactly the same. In fact, the Nokia 2.4 actually looks like the Nokia 3.2 more than the Nokia 3.4 does. The Nokia 3.4 is also more premium-looking than the Nokia 2.4. While the Nokia 2.4 has two cameras on the rear, the Nokia 3.4 sports a triple-camera setup.

According to rumors, the Nokia 2.4 will sport a 6.2-inch 720p display. It will use a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC and enjoy up to 3GB of RAM. The phone will reportedly be powered by a 4,800mAh battery. It is expected to launch in single-SIM and dual-SIM models.

The Nokia 3.4, on the other hand, will come with a 6.52-inch 720p display. It will also get 3GB of RAM. According to NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 3.4 will be powered by a Snapdragon 460 SoC and will get juice from a 4,000mAh battery.

Phones / HUAWEI Y9a Announced With Mediatek Helio G80 And No Google Mobile Services by beejayvince(m): 6:12am On Sep 07, 2020
Unlike its sub-brand Honor, Huawei didn’t launch any new product at the IFA 2020, however, recent news revealed that the company had a few products up their sleeve. On Sunday the 6th of September 2020, Huawei quietly announced the release of the HUAWEI Y9a; a tweaked version of the HUAWEI Enjoy 20 Plus which was recently launched in China.

This is not the first time we are hearing of the device as its name has been mentioned in different lists of upcoming HUAWEI devices. The device even had its promotional poster leaked last week.

HUAWEI Y9a Specifications
The HUAWEI Y9a features a 6.63-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD panel with a 92% screen-to-body ratio without a notch or hole-punch on it. The reason behind the device’s lack of a hole-punch or notch is because its 16MP selfie camera is located on a pop-up module.

The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, unlike the Enjoy 20 Plus which is a 5G smartphone equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 720. The device also sports a 6GB/8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage depending on the region where it is being sold.

The HUAWEI Y9a sports the circular camera design present in the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro but with different sensors. Instead, the device comes equipped with a 64MP primary snapper paired with an 8MP 120° ultra-wide unit, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter.

The phone runs on EMUI 10.1 which is based on Android 10 with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services). It also features all necessary sensors such as a gyroscope, compass, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor, and a fingerprint sensor located on its side.

Phones / Samsung Galaxy S21/S30 And S21+/S30+ Underwhelming Battery Capacities Leaked by beejayvince(m): 5:37am On Sep 07, 2020
Hints regarding Samsung’s 2021 flagships are looking unremarkable in terms of battery capacity. China’s telecom authority CCC has recently certified a pair of batteries that could belong to the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+. The two devices were identified as the EB-BG991ABY and EB-BG996ABY, respectively.

We recently learned about the Samsung Galaxy S21+ some weeks back and today’s 3C certificate adds more reality to the leak which pointed towards a cell with a rated capacity of 4660mAh. The EB-BG991ABY’s certification on the other hand reveals a 3880mAh rating, suggesting an average capacity of 4000mAh.

The Galaxy S20+ successor will deliver a more powerful upgrade with reference to ratings. However, it seems Samsung is still having a pending decision on the matter but will have an answer by the end of the year when more details of its new flagships emerge. The Galaxy S21/S30 series is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2021, hopefully by February. The Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra were launched in February, 2020.

Phones / Nokia 9.3 Pureview To Launch Soon As Official Clear Case Listings Surface by beejayvince(m): 6:08pm On Sep 05, 2020
There have been reports that production work may begin on the Nokia 6.3, Nokia 7.3 5G, and Nokia 9.3 PureView in September/October. In fact, development work on these devices are reportedly almost over; they are already in the phase of pre-launch final testing.

It now appears that Nokia is already preparing for the launch of these devices. According to information from NokiaPowerUser, clear case listings of the Nokia 9.3 PureView are available. However, we cannot post them as the source allegedly requested that they should not be published.

Back in April, HMD CPO dropped a hint about the color option of the Nokia 9.3. This confirmed that the device was in the works. Many people are looking forward to this device as a successor to the Nokia 9 PureView. This is important after reports of a Nokia 9.1 and a Nokia 9.2 have made the rounds. The launch of the Nokia 9.1 was said to be shelved to make way for the Nokia 9.2 instead. Then, the launch of the Nokia 9.2 was also delayed. Hence, the wait for the Nokia 9.3 started with leaks and rumors making the rounds.

If earlier reports are anything to go by, then HMD plans to hold a major Nokia smartphone launch event in Q4 2020. The recent links and these clear case listings are quite in sync with those reports.

The Nokia 9.3 PureView is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor. One of the highlights of the device is its camera capabilities. It may feature world-class rear and front cameras, with support for 8K video recording.

Phones / Motorola Shows Off The RAZR 5G In Teaser Poster That Will Bring Back Memories by beejayvince(m): 11:54am On Sep 04, 2020
The global launch event for the new Motorola RAZR 5G will be coming up on September 9. However, Motorola also released another launch poster that suggests a launch in the Chinese market the following day.

The fact that the Motorola RAZR 5G is a phone with a foldable display is one of its selling points. It features a clamshell foldable form factor. However, it is important to note that the feeling of nostalgia is another notable selling point.

Motorola has now shown off the new RAZR 5G in a new teaser that definitely expresses the nostalgia. The teaser poster shows the original RAZR and the new RAZR 5G facing each other in a sort of mirror reflection.

We have already seen the upcoming RAZR phone in previous leaks. The renders show an exterior that is largely identical to the older RAZR. However, there seems to be a redesign of the chin.

Under the hood is where we see the biggest improvement – 5G support. The RAZR 5G will reportedly achieve this using the Snapdragon 765G chipset. That is the same chip used by the recently launched LG Q92 5G.

In the camera department, the RAZR 5G is still coming with single front and rear cameras. The main camera will be a 48MP shooter while the selfie camera will use a 20MP lens.

We also see improvements in the memory capacity of the new RAZR. It will enjoy 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The first foldable RAZR came with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There are also rumors that the battery capacity will be slightly increased and the RAZR 5G will also enjoy a charging speed of 18W.

We do not yet have word on the pricing of the RAZR 5G. That will probably be the deciding factor for many people, considering the competition from other brands.

Phones / LG Wing Appears In New Teaser; It Will Be Unveiled On 14th September by beejayvince(m): 3:55am On Sep 04, 2020
The long wait is finally over! After months of continual leaks, the LG Wing will finally be unveiled on the 14th of September 2020. While some of its peers are working on foldable phones as their next-gen line of smartphones, LG has opted to release two-screen phones that work by adding a second display using their casing.

The teaser video below shows that the LG Wing will extend its display with the help of a screen that will rotate into view. Previous leaks that were released around May spoke of a T-Shaped device having a horizontal extension at its top, while a recently leaked video displayed how the device works and how it rotates.

LG claims that this is the prototype and first of many in its Explorer Project, which “will include devices that deliver distinctive and yet unexplored usability experiences.” Phones like the LG Velvet, on the other hand, represent mainstream needs in its Universal line.

Although the teaser doesn’t show the Wing device in action, LG announced Rave, Tubi, Ficto, and Naver as partners in the Project. Naver and Tubi are known for the Line messaging app and free ad-supported video streaming respectively.

Work is currently ongoing on the design of a customized dual-screen web browser. All details regarding the Explorer Project and the LG Wing should be available on the 14th of September 2020 at 10 AM ET.

Phones / Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Announced; could this be Samsung’s Cheapest 5G Phone? by beejayvince(m): 1:17am On Sep 03, 2020
The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G has been announced as the cheapest 5G smartphone from Samsung. A few hours ago, the tech giant amazed fans by announcing this phone officially with just a few of its features disclosed. Some of these features include its price and some others which we will briefly discuss.

According to Samsung’s press release, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will feature a 6.6-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display, a Quad-camera setup, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The above specs is all the company had released about its most affordable 5G smartphone till date.

One of the great things about the smartphone industry is that nothing hidden is actually hidden and in this case, the device had been leaked a couple of times. With reference to 3C and Safety Korea certifications, it will pack a large 5,000mAh battery, which is still small compared to the Galaxy M51’s 7,000mAh battery but larger than most devices.

A recent listing on Geekbench suggested that this smartphone will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC, the cheapest Qualcomm smartphone SoC supporting 5G connectivity. The Samsung Galaxy A42 is also expected to be available in 4G variants just like the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71, with its processor still being a mystery.

Samsung is yet to officially release the pricing of the Galaxy A42 5G. However, even with its amazing features, it is expected to cost lower than the Galaxy A51 5G's price tag of $499.99 (about 194,000 Naira). This could make it the current cheapest 5G phone from Samsung.

Phones / MediaTek Launches Helio G95 Budget gaming SoC with GPU Improvements by beejayvince(m): 4:23pm On Sep 01, 2020
On the 31st of August 2020, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 732G SoC with improvements over a decent predecessor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G SoC is expected to power a series of devices in the midrange segment. Qualcomm rivals MediaTek have also decided on stealing the spotlight by launching the new Helio G95 SoC which also has improvements built on its decent precursor.

The new MediaTek Helio G95 SoC is an extension with the same features as the previous Helio G90 and Helio G90T SoC from MediaTek. From the looks of it, the new SoC will only feature minor improvements, since it features a higher boost speed on the GPU, with the ARM Mali-G76 MC4’s ability to operate at up to 900MHz compared to the 800MHz ceiling of its predecessor.

MediaTek is currently boasting of up to 8% increase in GPU benchmark scores from the G90T. There are also claims that the CPU benchmark scores have gotten up to 5% increase, but this doesn’t eliminate the lack of significant change in specifications.

That said, the MediaTek Helio G95 might appear underwhelming. But from my experience with using a Helio G90T smartphone for a while as a replacement to the other flagships that I use, the predecessor was a pretty good SoC in terms of performance. The G95 on the other hand, has proven to be a safe bet on a good SoC due to its improved functionality.

MediaTek Helio G95 Specification Summary
To tie it together, the MediaTek Helio G95 is based on a 12nm process, with 2x Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05Ghz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores. This is complemented by the ARM Mali G76 3EEMC4 GPU. Other features for the G95 include up to 10GB of LPDDR4X RAM clocked at up to 2133MHz.

The SoC also supports up to 64MP single camera or 24MP plus 16MP dual camera configurations, along with the presence of pixel-binning support, and 240fps slo-mo, as well as AI facial detection. The chip also integrates dual wake-up word support, allowing phones to build in support for listening to more than one trigger word simultaneously.

When it comes to networking, the series supports Cat-12 4G LTE modem with 3X CA and 4X4 MIMO technology. The Helio G95 also continues to feature the MediaTek HyperEngine game technology, boasting of gaming-centric features such as a networking engine, a rapid response engine, a resource management engine, a picture quality engine, call and data concurrency, and dual Wi-Fi connection. You can read more about these features in our G90 series announcement.

In the nearest future, we expect newer model of smartphones with the new Helio G95 launching in major markets, targeted at the midrange segment.

Phones / Microsoft Sides With Epic In War Against Apple by beejayvince(m): 12:17am On Aug 30, 2020
Epic is the developer of the Unreal Engine, a very popular game engine used several developers in mobile and non-mobile realms. Epic is currently suing Apple over the latter’s ban on Fortnite and Apple in retaliation has threatened to revoke its support for the Unreal Engine on iOS and MacOS.

This is part of its attempt to cut off Epic from using Apple’s development tools, for which Epic is seeking an emergency injunction. Apple later on released a sharp response to this injunction, stating that Epic had brought “this on itself” by starting the whole thing. Epic on the other hand, also responded with a new court filing also stating that it’s not asking Apple to play nice like nothing is wrong.

So! You might ask, how does Microsoft come into all these? Well, here’s how: Today, Microsoft filed a statement, which was clearly in support of Epic. This statement was written by Kevin Gammill, the General Manager of Xbox’s third-party developers.

He stated that the Unreal engine is too valuable a piece of technology for Apple to effectively cut off. The statement made was due to its importance in helping developers in providing a virtual environment to build their games in.

Quoting Kevin Gammill’s words, “Denying Epic access to Apple’s SDK and other development tools will prevent Epic from supporting Unreal Engine on iOS and macOS, and will place Unreal Engine and those game creators that have built, are building, and may build games on it at a substantial disadvantage.”

With the way this battle is going, Microsoft is going to benefit largely if Epic cuts Apple off at the knees, allowing users move to Microsoft’s xCloud. Microsoft has lots of games on the iOS platform running on the Unreal Engine, so having a fallout and eviction by apple is tagged to be a fight over real money, due to the number of users that are currently fed-up with Apple’s continuous bans, e.g. Fortnite.

Phones / Samsung’s Upcoming S-series And Foldable Phones Could Support The Stylus Pen by beejayvince(m): 8:21pm On Aug 26, 2020
Global Tech giant Samsung will be launching the next Galaxy S flagship smartphone series early in 2021. A recent report from South Korean Publication The Elec stated that there will again be three (3) separate models of the phone, just like others. Also, the publication stated that the top model will feature the use of S Pen support.

The S Pen is the only major difference between the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. The pen has been designed with Wacom’s digital pen technology, which is compatible with all Galaxy Note devices with an active digitizer layer underneath the display.

In older upgrades, Samsung added a battery, which powers a small Bluetooth Low Energy Chip. It also features a six-axis motion sensor used for gesture detection. Recent upgrades on the other hand, Samsung reduced the S Pen support latency to about 9ms, making writing feel more responsive.

Remember that these are all rumors! But if The Elec is right, the upcoming Galaxy S series with code-name “Unbound,” will be available in three (3) different models. There are also speculations that Samsung will be killing off the Galaxy Note series, so it can focus on the new Foldable Z line.

Adding the S Pen feature to Samsung’s foldable line will keep fans of the Note-series happy. The Galaxy S series is one of the market and we think it surely deserves an S Pen.

Motorola has launched the Moto G9 Play. This launch comes only about 10 months after the launch of the Moto G8 Play last year, and days after Evan Blass shared details of the Moto G9 Plus.

With a larger display, more RAM, more storage, a more powerful chipset, and improved cameras, the Moto G9 Play is a significant upgrade over the Moto G8 Play. The new phone features a 6.5-inch IPS screen with a waterdrop notch and resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels. The display has an aspect ratio of 20:9.

Under the hood, the Moto G9 Play does not disappoint. It features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 chipset, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The phone enjoys 64GB of expandable storage.

In the camera department, the Moto G9 Play features a triple-camera setup on the rear. This setup features a 48MP main shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter. This means that we do not have the ultra-wide-angle camera from the Moto G8 Play anymore. An 8MP selfie camera sits in the phone’s waterdrop notch.

Moto G9 Play Price and Availability
The Moto G9 Play will be available from around €170 in Germany and other places in the Eurozone. Motorola also unveiled the G9 Play in the UK but has not revealed the pricing there. The Moto G9 Play will also be available in India - and globally - as the Moto G9 from August 31 for INR 11,499 (about 60,000 Naira). The device is available in Sapphire Blue and Forest Green color options with the global version having an exclusive Spring Pink finish.

Phones / Alphabet Inc. Has Considered Purchasing Tiktok by beejayvince(m): 8:17am On Aug 24, 2020
Recent reports suggest that Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company decided on making an investment in TikTok. According to Bloomberg News, this investment might have been a bid led by a group of unknown companies.

Bloomberg also stated that CapitalG, a privately owned equity arm could be a possible investor in the social media giant. For now, Alphabet’s interest has reportedly declined in recent days, although there is a possibility of the company participating in future bids related to TikTok.

TikTok has over the years emerged as one of the most influential and popular video sharing services on the market. The social media giant has over 100 million users in the U.S. alone, but with great strength comes great tribulation! The government of the U.S. recently accused ByteDance the owners of TikTok of having ties with the Chinese government, posing as a national security risk to the U.S.

Due to this issue, the president of the United States, Donald Trump is in talks to cut off access to TikTok in the U.S. The only means of the company saving itself from these sanctions is to get a buyer certified by the US before the 12th of November 2020.

Microsoft had previously emerged as the company’s successor, while Oracle and Twitter on the other hand displayed minimal interest in making a bid. Our source reports that an outright acquisition of the company is a possibility, to avoid the regulatory headaches which could arise. Rumors also suggest that YouTube is already designing its own TikTok resembling service called YouTube Shorts

Phones / Samsung Might Be Working On A New Galaxy Fold “lite” by beejayvince(m): 2:03pm On Aug 23, 2020
Samsung recently certified a new device on the Wi-Fi Alliance with model SM-F415F/DS. The first “F” in this device’s name represents “Foldable”, and considering the fact that the original Galaxy Fold is F900, and the Z Flip is F700, this device might just be a “lite” version of the Galaxy fold.

Recent rumors suggest that Samsung may be have in due course started the production of a new “lite” version of the Galaxy Fold. The device might not fall under the mid-range field, but we assure you that it won’t be as expensive as its other foldable device counterparts. Reports suggest that Samsung might want to keep this device at a price around $1000.

The device could also feature a non-flagship processor, as well as other features a standard Galaxy Fold would have. The image below contains the device’s certification.

Readers should note that this might be a pure speculation, but if you consider the device’s model number, the second digit is a “1”, implying that the device is of a second-generation, as we saw with the Galaxy Z Fold 2 which has an F91x code. The original fold on the other hand has as F90x model number.

The question now is if this device will feature a clamshell design or the original fold design. Irrespective of what happens, the Wi-Fi certification holds less information concerning the device. Aside that, there is reason to believe that the new Galaxy Fold Lite might not support Wi-Fi 6.

Phones / Realme X7 Series With 4,500mah Battery And 125W Flash Charge Coming In September by beejayvince(m): 1:43pm On Aug 22, 2020
OPPO’s Realme is making efforts to launch a series of smartphones on September 1st. According to our source, the Realme X7, X7 Pro and X7 Pro Ultra are all expected to be officially launched on the date mentioned above. Initial information available on the internet suggested that the X7 series would have just two phones released – the X7 and X7 Pro, before the X7 Pro Ultra came into view.

Although we have little idea of the specs and qualities of the vanilla Realme X7, we know that the X7 Pro will be available in a 6.55-inch screen with 1080 x 2400 pixels display. Its display will feature a Flexible Super AMOLED screen from Samsung, featuring a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The device will also feature a 32MP selfie snapper at its front, while its rear will have a quad-camera pioneered by a 64MP snapper. The X7 Pro will support 5G network, as well as a Dimensity 1000+ CPU from MediaTek. The X7 smartphone is also rumoured to support the 5G network, but not much has been said about it.

A 4500mAh battery has been spotted on the devices qualifications page on weibo, as well as a 65W fast charging. Rumours suggest that the X7 Pro Ultra might be a flagship device, and according to the tweet above, it might as well feature the specifications of the Pro version.

The only really significant differences between the X7 Pro and Pro Ultra are: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 CPU is expected on the Pro Ultra instead of the Dimensity 1000+. Also, the Pro Ultra is tipped to support an ample 125W fast charging.

Even if both phones are having the same battery capacity, the X7 Pro Ultra is rumoured to weigh less than its X7 Pro counterpart. X7 Pro Ultra weighs 175 grams compared to X7 Pro’s 183 grams, and will be launched on the 1st of September.

Phones / Samsung Galaxy M51 Features Leak: 7,000mah Battery And 25W Fast-charging by beejayvince(m): 1:09am On Aug 22, 2020
New reports have surfaced regarding new upgrades in Samsung Galaxy M51. According to earlier reports, the Samsung Galaxy M51 may feature a 6.5-inch or 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display, OneUI 2.1 OS and an ample 7,000mAh battery which supports 25W fast-charging.

A Twitter post by popular leakster, Ishan Agarwal, confirms that the device will feature a 7,000mAh battery, a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The device is also rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC, appear in two storage variants; 6GB RAM – 128GB ROM, and 8GB RAM – 128GB ROM.

The smartphone will also feature a Quad-camera which is teased to have a 64MP main camera, 12MP Ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP portrait camera, and a 5MP macro sensor. The selfie camera located at the front of the device will also feature a 32MP lens.

With Samsung’s large number of releases this year, we expect nothing but the best. Also, recent polls suggest the high anticipation of the Samsung Galaxy M51, as well as the new version of the Galaxy S20.

The Samsung Galaxy M51 is in high anticipation because it is the first smartphone produced by Samsung to feature a 5,000mAh battery. For the S20 Fan Edition, on the other hand, rumours suggest the phone will feature Galaxy S20 Specs at a lower price tag, making it a budget smartphone.

Release dates for these two show-stoppers haven’t been released yet, but hopefully news on their launch dates will be released soon.

Phones / Android 11 Will Allow Only The Default Camera In Third-party Apps by beejayvince(m): 12:57am On Aug 22, 2020
Android 11 will stop users from taking photos from your choice of the camera app through camera picker. Although this doesn’t mean that users won’t be permitted to access their third-party camera app, users will only be able to use the default camera app each time a third-party app requests a photo.

This new feature was initially spotted by Android Police, and is documented in the Google Issue Tracker. The above new feature of the Android 11 has been stated as a means of promoting privacy and security of each user.

Also, Google will further prevent these apps from using its own camera interface for taking pictures. Most users of the Android platform rely on third-party camera apps for taking pictures enhanced with filters or effects.

Although most people might not have experienced the use of camera-pickers often, users feel that it isn’t ideal for Google to deny them this feature. This turn-around as well, is also against the open Android values which Google takes pride in.

Phones / Nokia Feature Phone With Android, Selfie Camera, & Google Assistant Button Leaks by beejayvince(m): 9:23pm On Aug 21, 2020
For some time, there have been rumors of a Nokia feature phone coming up. Back at CES 2019, we saw a Nokia N9 [lookalike] which piqued interests. It is still not clear if it was some employee playing pranks by putting the iconic Nokia N9 alongside KaiOS feature phones or if it was some prototype Google mistakenly displayed. Either way, that fueled the rumors that we were about to get a Nokia feature phone.

Later in 2019, there was a more serious leak of a Nokia feature phone. The phone appeared in a video, running some version of Android. Now, it appears that we will indeed get the feature phone, and the launch may be just around the corner.

A sketch of a Nokia feature phone has now surfaced. From the sketch, we see a phone with a physical keyboard and a centrally-placed Google Assistant button. The phone also sports a selfie camera.

In addition to the sketch, there is reportedly a document which connects the sketch to Nokia Mobile. This lends some credence to the credibility of the sketch.

The first photo of the Nokia feature phone appeared last year July. This means that the phone has likely been in development for at least a year. Just recently, a Nokia feature phone with model number TA-1316 passed FCC. This may or may not be the device from the sketch, but it is worth a mention.

We cannot yet tell when this Nokia feature phone will hit the market, but we know it is only a matter of time.
