It means you have exhausted the EA option. You're left with picking a regular date, or pay a new visa fee so you can get another EA.

It's strange that your EA was not approved considering your start date. Were you denied recently?

The deficits would still reflect on your i20, and they'd possibly ask about who's paying during the interview, so use your uncle on the DS-160.

There's really nothing much you can do about it. Wait till its 60days to your program start date before using the Emergency option. In the meantime, keep checking for earlier dates via the **reschedule tab, you'd be lucky to get a closer date.

Please don’t share misinformation. You can use a different statement of account for i20 and for visa interview. Unless your school is one of those that writes your sponsor’s name on your i20. I used 2 different statements.

I'm sure you didn't check well before quoting that person.

Hello guys please i need help. i tried to apply for visa last year to attend a wedding around MAY. I could not because as at the date i was notable to get appointment date. ( This was handled by an agent) however he already paid for the visa fee, we later got appointment in July 2022 which was cancelled by the agent. My challenge now got admission for fall, i paid for both visa fee. Unknown to me that the agent went ahead to book for appointment for the B1 visa. Now i am trying to book a date for my F1 visa , the receipt reference of the previous payment is still showing, How can i can remove and use my present receipt number. Hi,
If that July 2022 appointment wasn't cancelled, you'd have still used it for your F1 visa interview.

Going forward, you'd have to schedule another appointment with the old MRV, then CANCEL it afterwards. That way the old visa fee becomes invalid.

Once that is done, restart the visa application process, select F1, input the new MRV refrence number and continue with the rest.

Please assist with few questions

1. On my ds160, the question who is sponsoring your trip. Can I put my spouse as he is paying for my ticket? Does the embassy have access to the sponsor I used when applying as it is not on my I20? Or can I use another sponsor. (I’m applying for F1 visa)

2. I have an admission offer without any funding, no travel history and I’m traveling with a spouse and a son. If I make a trip to Dubai now, will it not seem obvious the trip is because of travel history for my F1 visa? Do the chances seem slim?

Hello,

1. Sponsoring your trip = Person paying for the cost of your program. So it's best to use your sponsor.

**If your I-20 shows 'Family Funds' on it, you can use any other sponsor for the visa interview.

2. Yes, it'd look suspicious. It's not advisable.

You can apply for the study visa alone, then your dependents apply for F2 later.

my experience: after waiting for one month to get EA in Lagos, I canceled Lagos appointment and used the same MRV to apply to Abuja this week . I was able to initiate another EA request to Abuja using the same MRV.EA was approved in Abuja within a day. I called embassy contacts several times to be sure the same MRV can be used for Abuja EA. The contact person said it might not but if it does, fine. So you can’t be too sure the same MRV will allow you book another EA. Regular available dates in Abuja is now April 2023. EA available date is May 18, 2022. I’m still checking two to three times a day to see if I can get an earlier date.

Once your EA is approved,you have a time frame to pick a date(check your email). You won't see any close dates if you don't pick before that time elapses.

Most schools offer funding during FALL Session. Plan towards that.

When filling the DS-160, there's a section you'd indicate you've been denied before.

Hello all, please I just got admission to Emerson college Boston. The school fees is 49,580 dollars and I got a scholarship from the school worth 38,000 dollars. I just accepted the admission, so I would love to ask what are the necessary documents I need to apply for the visa and what documents should the school give me to apply for visa? what type of visa am i supposed to apply for? For the money that my sponsor suppose to have, is it the 49,580 dollars that should be in the account or the (49,580 - 38,000 = 10,580) dollars? Please is there any group I can join that can help me? 1. The school would issue you the Form I-20 after you must have submitted your sponsors financial documents. You'd need to show poof of funds of any amount slightly above the naira equivalent of $10,580.

2. Pay visa fee and fill the visa application form(CGI) after receiving your I-20 from school. You'd also need to generate a DS-160 confirmation number to complete the *CGI.

3. Pay SEVIS Fee & print receipts no later than a week to your appointment date.

May appointment dates were available earlier in the week. Current dates now showing 2023.

You're due for resumption in less than a month, just pay another visa fee, switch to Abuja, pick any available date and request emergency. Do well to upload your I-20, and SEVIS receipts (if you've paid).

Also, has anyone switched to Abuja from Lagos after waiting too long for EA approval from Lagos? I've been waiting for a month now for the EA request and am due to resume in less than a month. I want to switch to Abuja but want to make sure I do it properly. When I called the US Consulate service desk, they told me you can only have one EA request per visa fee receipt. Does that mean I have to cancel my current appointment, then pay a new fee?

You can cancel appointment and switch to Abuja without paying another visa fee, if there are closer dates, you'd get to pick one. However, if you wish to use the Emergency request at Abuja then you'd have to entirely cancel your appointment, pay a new visa fee, and restart the process.
