Dear LS,

I am torn in my mind on what to do with my emotional state of mind. This is because,even though I am engaged to someone,I am in love with another lady. Somto and I have been dating for almost five years. She was in final year in school when we started,today she works with an NGO that caters for IDPs.

With the current situation in our country,her job makes her travel quite often. Given,Sombo absolutely loves her job. Her passion to help other people who are in need is outstanding. Initially,when she took the job,I admired her for it. I was proud of her. But three years after,it appears the job is really coming in between us. We hardly see each other. And even when she is in town,she is always busy planning one event or training or something humanitarian. When we got engaged last year,I thought we would be married by the end of the year but she was hardy even arrange to plan a wedding. I didnt want to be seen as insensitive. I wanted to support her and her career and dreams to the fullest. But it appears marriage is not her first priority.

But while all these are going on,I am seriously been neglected. Not helping is the fact single ladies are always around me. My boss in the office is a 36 year old beautiful woman. She is single and I always admire her she carries herself. Also a very dedicated christian. I have been attracted to her for sometime but I didnt want to pursue the idea. I mean,she is my boss for one. When we are not very busy,we talk about our personal lives and how our love lives suck. She has been unfortunate to always fall in love with the wrong guys.She on the other hand,always advised me to be patient with my fiance,Somto.

The entire office worked late one night,we had a deadline and eventually,we had to leave around 10.40pm. Everyone hurriedly left the office after but my boss uber kept delaying. I offered to drop her,she refused but I insisted. We chatted as I drove her to lekki last night. When we arrived at her place,she leaned over me and kissed me full on my lips. I was taken aback but she apologized and said she has always wanted to kiss me. I told her no problem. She got off and went inside. I swear,all I thought throughout my ride back home was the kiss. She called me later to find out if I got home safe,I was glad she called and we talked all night. It turns out that we both are in love with each other. She actually told me she was in love with me. She has been for sometime but she didnt want to say anything cos she knew about my fiance. I shocked myself by acknowledging that I was in love with her too.

For the first time in months,I am seriously in love. I know this may sound wrong but I havent been in love with Somto in a long time. I last saw her in December. Hello Ma,

My wife left me yesterday and she took my children away with her. I have been looking for her and no one wants to tell me where she is. She switched off her phone and I cant reach her. Well,yes,something happened that made her leave. Something that happened 12 years ago when we were not even married.

While we were dating in 2005 -2006,my wife (then my girlfriend) were always having issues. Some times we break up and make up after weeks. There was a time we broke up for almost one month. During that time,her younger sister came to my place. She was 19 years at the time. That was not her first time of coming to see me. Her family members and I are very close. She came and we while we were jisting,she said she broke up with her boyfriend and she was really heartbroken. She was in a bad shape that day so she came around just to talk to me cos she felt both of us were in the same boat seeing that both of us were having issues with our relationship. You should learn to speak up. Tell him that he cannot be leaving his plates unwashed that you do not have a maid. If he just came to visit and was leaving same day, then it is ok. But as long as he is staying, he should wash his plates. And please say it when your husband is there and politely too, so that he will not twist the story to his brother.

You also need to tell his sister in front of him that she cannot be entering your room unannounced. It was his room before but now it is for both of you. You guys are married and she has to respect that.

They need to extend the respect they have for their brother to you. You should not be treated like an outsider because you are not one. You are their new sister and should be treated accordingly.

I am even surprised how your husband overlooks all of this. All this is his fault. I cannot even try it with my brother. Am i mad??

I am very sad and unhappy. Please post my story. I need help. I just got married last November but I am sincerely not happy in my marriage. I dont know what to do. Its too early to be complaining but see where I have found myself. I am so depressed and I dont know what to do.When I was dating and courting my husband,his siblings were always a problem for us. After almost four years after graduation as a pharmacist,I couldnt get a good paying job. All I got was this job at a local pharmacy where they were paying me so little. I decided to go abroad and study for my masters. It would be very expensive but Uncle in Boston offered to accommodate me to make it less expensive for me. So I moved to Boston last year to begin my masters.

Uncle Ike is my mother’s cousin actually,not like a sibling really. He is a divorcee but lives with his American fiancee.His ex wife and kids moved back to Nigeria about four years ago.When I arrived,his fiancee was nice to me and all. She is quite younger than him.
