With the proliferation of insecurity and insurgents on all sides, the role of the NSA hasn't been more crucial to the survival of our country than it is now. We need to eradicate Boko Haram, kidnappers, killer herdsmen and UGM or we will no longer have a country in the near future
As for Nuhu Ribadu, I dont know if he can be trusted because the insecurity in and from the north is our biggest challenge. However, I trust Tinubu's judgement and believe he knows what he's doing. Still early days though |

ogunijebu18: Can you name one thing Igbo has done that Yoruba hasn’t done? This is a very poignant question. Is there any sphere of life or human endeavour where yorubas are not excelling? This disdain igbos have for yorubas still amazes me, because what do you have that we don't have (apart from an extreme propensity for chest-beating and self-deceit of course )? |

Gajagojo: Lol
That is not my objective I am here to persuade and to be persuaded I don't know everything but I know Ibos approached the last election with self interest . Yoruba youth allowed themselves to be manipulated by superficial logic neglecting history
I can summarise Ibos for you 1. They want to dominate everyone and will do anything to achieve that 2. From independence they perceived Yoruba as greatest obstacle to that goal 3. Whether or not you believe that was the purpose of January 15 1966 coup Ironsi pursued that agenda 4. Ojukwu lost out on the July 1966 counter coup and refused to come to terms with reality pursuing a futile war 5. This refusal to face reality and live in fantasy is at the core of their self evaluation and world view 6. They blame Awolowo and by extension the Yoruba for their humiliation in the war and hope one day to see Yoruba suffer. Those who lived through the war like Charly Boy carry this baggage and transmit it to the next generation. That Yoruba betrayed them and Awolowo seized their money 7. Again with that story you find total imperviousness to any alternative logic. 8. To believe that somehow Obi would pursue a unifying agenda is funny. Let Obi point out 2 or 3 Yorubas that were close to him when he was governor or Ijaws. Even among Ibos he discriminates for Catholics. 9. He rode on the back of EndSars, anti Tinubu and antiBuhari sentiment.
But let us assume there were only 4 or 5 Ibo candidates and no other Nigerian I will not pick Obi from 1 to 10 You know being a nairaland veteran, I'm not a stranger to the igbo rhetoric against yorubas but I've always held a glimmer of hope that perhaps it's only an ignorant few that hold these anti-yoruba narratives. This last election cycle proved me painfully wrong. Also, in the last 2 years I've come to understand that igbos actually detest yorubas. I hear comments like 'you don't behave like yoruba people' 'you don't look yoruba' etc, and thy expect me to take it as a compliment rather than the insult it is. Meanwhile, these are the same set of people that claim 'omo ibo' is a slur. Sincerely, you don't need to say too much, I underd you perfectly. It's such a shame that the igbos are the way they are, that's life I guess. I hope the igbos understand that yorubas don't give half a fück about you guys. Every tribe/culture has their less desirable attributes but for you to think y'all are superior and even rub it in our faces will always meet with stiff opposition. Next election cycle when yorubas oppose you, don't come out saying that's how we've always been. This particular one has sown seeds of discord that we'll all real from in due season. No ekun egbere please. Despise and detest us with your chest, we too will show you why our yoruba cultural has survived more than a thousand years on this earth. We dey house for una |

Gajagojo: There is no redeeming feature about Obi. You were manipulated that is all there is to. Psychologically it is difficult to admit that.
Atiku is a much better option than Obi.
Obi can only contribute in a classroom.
His instincts are obvious to anyone who paid attention when he was governor. And who pays attention to Ibos generally.
If you have paid attention properly to Ibos you would never vote one to be president Alright. Alright

Basic123: Bro,I am soo disappointed in you that you tried to impress Igbo by voting OBI!
What were you thinking bro?
You have not gone than the memory lane that Igbo font appreciate and respect anybody they are not dominating ?.....you didn't go down the memory lane and pass through 2011 when yorubas voted massively for GEJ and how they hijacked the government and spit on yorubas face!
I didn't vote for OBI,but when I heared he lost lagos I wan not really moved, then I opened my Facebook and I started reading Igbo people comments,I was so ashamed of being a yoruba man!...I developed so much rage for yorubas that voted for OBI immediately...why are we yorubas not smart while relating to Igbo?,have we forgotten history? ....OBI and Igbo used Christianity to divide we yorubas! ..yorubas Christians forgot that Christian-christian ticket started with Awolowo in 1979.Igbo people voted hausa fulani muslim shagari instead in 1979 and 1983...they abandoned the south and Christianity. The same set of people who hate Awolowo use hell fire to threaten my educated brothers to vote for their brother 43yrs after! 😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂 Bro first of all, your disappointment is irrelevant. Secondly, I didn't vote to impress anyone, I simply did that in good conscience thinking Obi would be most competent considering Tinubu's many gaffes (the balablu sessions etc). Now that Jagaban is on the throne and he's back to his old self. I thank God Obi didn't enter because we for no hear word again for Nigeria. Rich4god: Someone said that we don't sell lands locate at rural. It will help u to note that lands at rural areas are ancestral lands. Those lands were inherited from fathers to fathers. And in our culture, you will hardly see an igbo man selling his father's land. Even if an igbo man in severe poverty, he will hardly sell his inherited land. Those who eventually sale their own land will hardly sell to someone not from their village/kindred how much more selling it to someone from another state. This is a cultural thing and not because we don't want to sell the land to others. Land in yorubaland wasn't inherited? It was a gift from angels? Do you know the meaning of omo onile /omonile? The more you people speak, the more your wicked existence is exposed. You guys are disgusting. Your dishonesty and sophistry has given you away. Ofemmanu1: Igbos are the only race in nigeria that celebrate failure. In 1982, the igbos celebrated the defeat of biafra by welcoming ojukwu with fanfare on his return from asylum haven been granted amnesty by the igbo overlords- the hausa fulani. He revelled in the fanfare and promptly married FFK left over- forgotten the over 3million lgbos that died in the war and with many of them languishing at OJI RIVER CAMP. The second celebration is the release of kanu with the most humiliating bail conditions ever granted an accused in the annals of Nigerian justice system. A bail conditions targeted at the entire Igbo race and granted by an Hausa Fulani judge. I could not believe that with all the noise, such bail conditions will be signed. But he signed and in his eagerness to leave kuje he abandoned his two conspirators in kuje. The bail conditions wiped out the Identity of the ibos and EKEREMANDU was made the enforcer of the conditions. Now Kanu is back at kuje prisons eating watery beans and Ekweremadu is languishing away in UK detention. I'm not surprised by this. " Bravery" is their highest aspiration and it is foolish bravery. They cannot strategise for long stretches of time, they cannot calculate and give concessions when necessary. Nzogbu nzogbu is their only strategy |

A word of advice to igbos. When you are in a competition, you must learn the rules of the competition and play by them. You can only change the rules when you have attained rulership of the competition and not before.
You must learn to negotiate and compromise, otherwise you will wail and wail till eternity and be opening sorrowful threads like this one.

What have igbos done wrong? Disrespect for other peoples' beliefs and way of life. Period. You people see yourselves and your ways as superior and it informs your attitudes and communication towards others. You lack regard for other people's customs and cultures and even their heritage, eg, "we developed Lagos" "na we get Lagos". Yorubas might not say anything when you spout such grating drivel and we won't forget, but we will remind you when a Chinedu wants to contest for governorship of Lagos. Do you know that, I, a yoruba man travelled outside Lagos (my place of primary residence) to vote Obi? And I regretted that act before the end of election day. Why? Because when Obi won Tinubu in Lagos, we started hearing all sorts of nonsense like "we go take Lagos from them" . Una papa. Wetin una wan take? That is why Chinedu was roundly defeated in Lagos. I promise you, a lot of yorubas who voted for Sanwo Olu voted for Obi and would have cast their votes for Chinedu if you and your people had the little thing called respect. I can beat my chest and say that I am a detribalised Nigerian but I'm not so detribalised that I'm ignorant of igbo ways of disrespect, both overt and covert. |

That’s how they bought and commissioned another idiot who calls himself Okechukwu Isiguzoro to issue scrupulous statements in the name of Ohaneze during the elections.
What we don’t understand is why Tinubu and Owambe boys are going this far just to tarnish the name of Igbos.
