Geology and social work respectively. I intend to reapply to a difft schools with relatively close degree with that of my first degree.. What's are my chance of getting the grants now? I completely agree that some questions are nauseating and annoying. However, considering one cannot see the person asking such questions to guage their emotional intelligence and resilience, it is better to ignore them.

There are occasions I wished to see some people physically and beat foolishness out of them but....

Some people's resilience and stress threshold are extremely little including comprehension skills. I believe you wouldn't want someone to enter depression or commit suicide because of what they read on the internet.

I believe that is your Bachelor of education qualification.

If Adelaide is the only choice you have, take it. If you have other option, forget Adelaide.

Getting a job in Adelaide is dependent on many factors which include your skills and ability to sell yourself.

In terms of resources, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

You need to read page 0-3 very well.

If you teach in a secondary school, you should nominate a secondary school teacher occupation.

Go to AITSL website for assessment requirements, especially the English requirement.

Make a photocopy of your certificate, take it to exams and records, they will stamp it and put it in the transcript when sending it.

You don't need any declaration. Your residential address you put on the application is what will be used to charge tax. Since you currently live in Nigeria, you wouldn't be charged tax and wouldn't need any declaration.

I am on international plan, I pay $45/month for 300 minutes to Nigeria and unlimited text, 1000 minutes to UK, USA, Canada etc and unlimited local calls. 12GB of data.

My wife got a better bargain, she pays $40 and she has 14GB of data.

Those apps are waste of money and the quality of the calls are not convincing on most occasion.

You initially decided to use your MSc thesis and unpaid internship. Why not use them.

However, the first thing is to identify the occupation you want to nominate in line with your experience.

So I tried severally to apply for Clinical Psychology but my grades did not meet up with many of them and since my interest is really in Mental health, I found the Social Worker course in this Uni that allows me specialize in Mental health and I thought why not? So I decided to go for it.

Though you will work in mental health but your role as a social worker will be different from a clinical psychologist.

Are you trying to apply with your undergraduate degree? Yes, postgraduate admission for psychology is very very competitive but you shouldn't stop trying. Meanwhile, don't discard the social Work admission

Getting into social Work graduate study is easy and not as competitive as psychology. Apply to as many schools as you want. Although you will be treated as an international student until the outcome of your application.

The initial purpose was your understanding. However, it has deviated from such as you hardly see employers looking at the EOI. They prefer to recruit candidates before going through the EOI process.
Looking at a prospective candidate's EOI does no good for the company as they can't be sure you are a good fit for their company until you go through the recruitment process.

While your understanding of it is correct, it is not what is being practiced in reality. You will need a job offer to go through that stages.

In other news, it will take you having special skills not available locally for any employer to jump on EOIs.

As previously discussed, getting a job are subject to two main conditions, all other conditions being constant.
1. The ability of the applicant to address the selection criteria. That means how the applicant is able to sell himself/herself to the employer by meeting the requirements.
2. Luck and other factors anybody do not have control over.


In my opinion, Perth is about the best place to live in Australia. Western Australia government pays the highest in the country aside the relative cheaper cost of living. Adelaide used to be the cheapest place to live but no more.

Yes, you can get care jobs and HR jobs are readily available. Getting it is dependent on factor 1 earlier described.

Caveat: I don't live in Perth, my advice may be biased. And I think wellendowed is in the best position to tell you about Perth's job market, everyone one of us will only talk about where we live.

However, you can do a micro-comparison by checking seek.com.au to compare by states.

He never taught me but was the one signing MTH101 when I decided to do it. There was a long queue outside his office and he was busy chatting with girls while we were left in limbo. I was angry and I challenged him that why would he leave us hanging to be chatting with the girls in his office. He didn't believe any student could be bold to tell him the truth, he threatened me and said I wouldn't take the course.

He was talking to a frustrated student at the time who didn't care about his threat. At least my utterance made him to start signing course form.

Need I say that we actually became friends before leaving his office that day. He was talking about formula One (car race) and nobody knew what he was talking about except me. That was what settled the quarrel

VETASSES is the assessing body. Mathematics is your best shot if your University is in the tier 1.

Yes, you can use your NYSC, Thesis, and IT to write the CDR. Make sure you ask someone in that field here to help you proofread before submitting.

@Guitarlife,

1. Even if you are 32yrs 11 months, as long as you are not 33.

2. Yes, include cost of medicals. Hopefully you hit 20 points in English on first attempt.

3. Since you did power in your MSc, I will advice that your CDR should be strictly on power. From what I have read, EA likes to push most elect/elect graduate to electronic engineering. Your MSc should be good in this situation.

Apply as an electrical engineering draftsperson. Check the Anzsco description for the occupation and pattern yours to it while writing CDR.

I remember that it was writing of CDR that was the challenge at the time. If you had been persistent as I advised you, you would have forgotten that you passed through the process.
However, it is not too late. What has changed is that you require high points for faster ITA, at least 70 points. If you have 65 as an electrical engineer, you should be able to get ITA sooner or later.

MSc and BSc are both 15points. Go to Engineer Australia's website for all the information you need.
