**sighs Ladies nowadays be finding spark Infact spark keeps many marriages nowadays more than love. What is love? What do you call that spark?? What is spontaneity?? I feel sorry for this lady who has lived her past four years a stereotyped one. Abi what is the meaning of you don't feel that spark anymore? Intending couples out there should know that love is a seed. It has to be nurtured. It must derive its nutrients from both of you; your conscious efforts and contributions. She loves him only that her mentality and her perception about marriage is based on a faulty foundation. Let her find him and earn his love and respect back. She had them on a platter of gold before but now she has to work hard to earn them. I pray the husband still has that SPARK for her. |
Mrjo:I subtly alluded to agriculture in my post. Agriculture is just one out of over a hundred sectors that contribute to an economy. Mr Oga, an advancing economy is a multifarious one. Look, with a population of 170m plus, who says there is no labour? There is this warped mentality that subtly crept into Nigerians during the 1970s oil boom which made us think oil is the only way. Of course there is always a major source of earning for a developing economy like ours What i'm saying is oil earnings may not be enough to drive the needed expansion of our economy (since oilprice is not encouraging anymore). When it was booming, we didn't use it to develop other parts of the economy. So whatelse can we resort to? Of course it is Agriculture Yes Agriculture on a large scale like the one we should embark on is labour intensive. Not even real estate, hospitality and tourism, education, automobile industry etc can drive an economy on their own. They are derivatives of a much stronger driving force (the one that generates far greater earnings) e.g oil and gas, agriculture. |
Wow.. this is good news. I am very happy This economic debacle is making us to unveil our virgin brains. But we shouldn't stop at cotton production cos this is only a low-value industry. I must not hear that we are exporting cotton now Ooo. The value chain is so long that if we stop at just growing, harvesting and selling cotton, we are only short-changing ourselves. We should resuscitate our textile factories. We should attract foreign investors too and if they don't come, no need to panic. We will eventually get there. Kudos to the thinking and working governors. |
Fabulocity:I do not mean to cause you any harm by quoting you, Miss Fabulocity. But I can't help but notice your comments on some threads especially relationships Pls i'm not stalking you Ooo . It is just coincidental. But I read through people's comments I don't forget things easily.I can only imagine what must be churning such vile, denigrating, bitter, resentful thoughts/feelings that eventually translate into your comments here. you must have been hurt seriously and you built a wall of bitterness in heart. If this is true, I am sorry you experienced such. But you have to bring that wall down at some point in time. Not until you do this, you may not see any good in any man. Surely this will reflect in your interaction with men and of course it will radiate to the ladies around you who might not share this view about 'all men' with you. This might strain your relationship with some good friends you have. Pls work on yourself. Try to be a better you and you will see that a better man will knock on your door one day. |
Nice one from the emir. I am a a proponent of GUIDED CAPITALISM. I will blame the present and the previous govts (both GEJ and OBJ). It is not enough to just clear debt and increase FX reserves, we should have invested greatly in the economy. They all goofed on this one. Taking South Korea as a case point, in the late 1950's after the Korean war, they depended so much on US aids, but they had a vision. Labour was cheap and by 1960 they have been able to save some of their earnings from agriculture and other low value-added industry. After the first coup in the 1960s, they reduced their dependence on foreign aids by 65% and were able to grow their light industries. By the late 1960s they were self sufficient enough to advance to heavy and chemical industries. The govt had strict control over capital accumulation and foreign debt. They didn't just allow some money to be lying fallow in their fx account. They reinvested almost all into the economy while shielding state owned and private industries from the international competition through tariffs and subsidies (just as the emir mentioned, govt has no business subsidising consumption, they should subsidise production and place high tariffs on imported competitors). By the 1990's they had grown the economy from just heavy and chemical industries into advanced hi-tech industries. All through the transition, 1). there was capital accumulation and reinvestment of these capital into the economy. 2). Labour grew from just cheap unskilled labour into highly skilled quality labour- thanks to the great investment in education. Today, south Korea (or just korea) is a world force. I blame OBJ for just being complacent. He cleared our debts and accumulated $40b but didn't plough anything back into growing the economy; that is not an achievement to me,That is carelessness and cluelessness. Yaradua clains he increased the fx savings to $61b and he claimed he invested in the economy. As for me, I didn't see any new investments other than sustaining the state of the economy. The moment he started amnesty, they started trailing a wrong road with a steep cliff at its end. GEJ came in and depleted almost 60% of the so called capital accumulated on frivolities (amnesty, consumption Subsidies and the likes) leaving debts and a diseased economy for the present govt. Buhari came in without having a clear strategy of good and sustainable economic policies. It is just like a novice who must escape a terrorist den with a chopper. He hasn't flown one before and he is just testing the buttons to know their functions. God help him the terrorists don't blow up the chopper cos he is wasting his precious time. If we claim we have $25b in our fx accounts, this is not bad as people claim. As a strong and focused central govt (as it claims to be), be involved directly or indirectly in giving boosts to our dying manufacturing industries. Because if we don't do that, we will end up spending this money with the ones borrowed on consumption subsidies and salary payments. Honestly, nigeria already has the framework for development into a strong economy(real one this time and not Some rebased GDP values) in 15 - 20 years. We have to take action now. The emir has captured my concerns and opinions in this write up. |

Me too dey find Ethiopian love Ooo. Since naija girls dey do anyhow. ![]() |
This is good news. Pls i'd like to know the specific courses in engineering that this scholarship covers. Any engineering field OR must be related to offshore/subsea? I'd love to understand this better especially the courses. |
RebelChip:bro I feel your pain and I am yoruba. We have been neglected for so long in this country that it is everyman for himself and for his family, so we decide to take to the streets and HUSTLE. But how do we define HUSTLING? Work hard like facebook Zuckerberg, the whatsapp guy that was once rejected by many tech companies, like the 23yr old who makes and sells original car parts in ibadan, like a humble frank Edwards who grew from grass to grace, or Basketmouth, Ali Baba, 2baba, Ice prince, Olamide. And many more. OR Like this man who at the end of his type of HUSTLING, gets exterminated? I'd prefer the former type of HUSTLING than bring shame to myself, my people and my country. This is not something we should all 'point and kill', Nigeria is tough and rough right now, but getting money at all cost is not worth it. As long as we can live through today, we should have hope that as we continue our good HUSTLE, God will neva forsake us. |
alamscolo:Whew... I hate to quote people and i'd rather just give my opinion but why that question? "Are we. Gonna live solely on beef? Or will each household be given cows to breed? " Is it pessimism that prompted these questions? Why do we refuse to see anything good in the efforts of the govt of the day? In my own opinion, apart from creating jobs for farmers in terms of cattle rearing, dairy farming has huge potentials; it goes beyond milk production. What of our candy/sweets industry? I see this as a quantum leap towards ensuring food security/stability in nigeria. Milk is about the cheapest food you can get in the US. Again, I see this move as an interesting way of getting a greater percentage of our illiterate northerners educated in one form or the other. This will get them engaged. Mind you, it is only a matter of time before we hear the news that an indigenous company sets up its dairy plant and begins to compete with Nestlé, Friesland, Arla, promisador etc. The value chain you can derive from agriculture is so long that in fact a booming agricultural sector will stimulate some areas of industrialisation in nigeria. Albeit, I would say we should not be naive, Nigeria's population is about to experience another explosion by 2050 and food security should be the least of our concerns then (look at the United States of America today, I can boldly tell you that many families are saving more because of cheap food). As regards importation ban, i'd say that not until we (Nigerians) are pushed to the wall, we would like to import even the air we breathe. I remember those days when my rich neighbours would brag about taking imported milk and when our uncles came around too and brought things for us, we would brag too; that is how crazy we are about imported things. Very soon, Nigerian rice will flood market, leathers and other agricultural products will follow suit. As a yoruba adage says, A hungry man is a desperate man. When you are hungry, nothing else matters. |
People are just blaming the govt for no reason. If you see the way oil companies in the US are buying other oil companies' assets/stakes u go fear. Exxon is fighting to acquire a gas company in Paupa new guinea. Thesame Exxon is fighting with BP. To win oil contracts in Azerbaijan. Kudos to them. We may be lucky this time and get it right. We must be wise and diversify our economy to awaking and stimulate our dead manufacturing industries. You wanna talk energy? PM me. |
This will only have positive effects for a week or two. Our hunger for dollar cannot be bridled so easily and quickly like what the CBN is telling us. The BDCs have an extra $20,000 weekly, Dubai-summer-holiday travellers will be jumping for joy. There will be round tripping and sharp practices and consequently, more woes for the economy. In my own opinion, the CBN should deal directly with companies, industries, manufacturers that are in dire need of dollars. This way, their huge demand for dollars is taken off the BDCs and the BDCs can service other consumers of dollars. Increasing the supply of dollars to BdCs given the poor control, supervision the CBN has over them will only spell more doom for Nigeria. Are you an energy enthusiast? PM me. And let's talk. #ENERGYVILLA |
Beautiful bride, Lovely couple. But why have we Nigerians sheepishly led ourselves like a cow to the slaughter slab of our political, social and religious heads? Why? why? and Why? The bride's mom is likely an Hajia who has toured the holy ground many times and who knows the pillar of Islam and the Quran like ABCD. But how could she permit her daughter to shame Islam like this (** This is likely the question some aficionado, extremist and parochial muslim brothers and sisters might be asking in the minds**). But no, these so called elders didnt just put some chain on our necks, they didnt just hypnotize us, we only through our narrow-mindedness led ourselves into their coffers. But is there anything bad in the way the bride dressed? NO,NO and NO. This is a decent lovely bride who has dressed very beautifully and attractively; all to the desire and appeal of her husband, the groom. If some caged mind is somewhere beating himself up about the damage this lady, her Hajia mother and her Alhaji Father have done to the face of ISLAM, then, I have only one remedy for them; BE LIBERATED, BE FREE. I have so much to say or type but we should let our minds be lifted above all cloud of lies and deception.Do you want to discuss ENERGY, PM me and let's talk. #ENERGYVILLA |
And why must we criticise them? I'm sure it is follow follow that ingrained cake cutting into our weddings in this part of the world. Why can't I use something else? Is it in some law anywhere that cakes must be cut at weddings? Abeg, do whatever makes you happy. If I cut giant moinmoin at my wedding, e no consign u ![]() |
Chaiiii Now tell me why I shouldn't have them ALL; from Hausa ---- Fulani----igbo----ibibio----edo----yoruba. This is just nigeria alone Ooo. If I don't have a seed of Indian descent, my mama no go forgive me . Ukrainian babes dey there Ooo. What of Mexican babes... I am no perv, but all I am saying is I was created for a reason and so are these chics all around the world. ![]() |
We Nigerians must revise the part of the constitution that talks about the national assembly; senate and house of reps. Apart from the obvious fact that Nigeria today is okay with just only one of the chambers, I don't see any justification for the overcrowding we have in either chamber (109 and 360). Secondly, I'd love to get more enlightened on the purpose of the senators, how expedient it is for senators to sponsor bills. I am asking this because all I can grasp is that we elect and pay these bunch of crooks to come up with some bills and sponsor them. (I am not sure if the House of reps members sponsor bills too or it is the sole responsibility of Senate members). I watch senate and house plenary sessions and I weep for nigeria. In my own opinion, I think nigeria has to take some austere measures at this time in our history. We don't have to copy verbatim what operates in other countries, we can write, modify and redefine our constitution. I'd suggest that these guys should not be employed full time (if we still need their numbers; 109 + 360). Rather, they should go about their normal businesses and convene whenever we have pressing matter to attend to (e.g budget approval and passing, sensible and important bills etc) The unnecessary congestion up there is too expensive for us as a nation. The decisions they have made for Nigeria in 16years plus is not more than what fathers and mothers make in their homes. Have they made us better in 17 years now? |
Mehnnnn, God knows beautiful women surely gonn put me in serious trouble ![]() But the beautiful ones are still yet to be born nah,n so i'll just bide my time. Africa is indeed blessed. |
People should read this news again and get the content of its message well. PENGASAN said they would only support deregulation and not fuel price hike. Part of the contents of the PIB is the downstream regulation and many more important issues that will be addressed. The federal Government through NNPC, PPPRA and co haven't taken off their hands from the downstream at all and this is hurting the nation badly. At this time, I think austere and strict measures should be taken by the FG. In my own opinion, if the downstream sector is to be fully deregulated (while the FG still does some oversight) these associations and trade unions should be abrogated. If we Nigerians want to be sincere with ourselves, these "association of petroleum this and that" are the ones complicating issues and making life difficult for the masses; not just in the petroleum sector but in all other sectors as well. They are there to oppress and feed themselves fat from people's misery. Again, nnpc should not concern itself with retail of petroleum products, there are investors who are ready to take up the mantle and ensure continuous supply of these products. But what needs to be done is: while NOGICD and other bodies that protect local content/participation, foreign investors should be allowed to bring in their products as well (at least until our refineries can fully meet our demands). For example, Neste; a Finnish company has outlets in Canada, US, in major countries of Europe. Furthermore, oil swaps should be stopped. It has never been in the interest of the masses, Alison Maduekwe was only being creative on how to earn more money for her self. Government should be less concern with the downstream, let demand and supply play themselves out while you welcome any dealer (local and foreign). Rather, it should concentrate more on upstream: how do we grow our reserves, deal with or settle the issue of militancy, work in synergy with IOCs and our local oil companies, grow our market share by collaborating with heavy industrialised nations (Indian china, S. Korea) |
It seems guys above me didn't grasp the full 'message' in this article. He said some striking words. He said that his success depends largely on others. What does this mean? The change we all crave can only become a reality if all hands are on deck. As much as he wants things to happen/change, it is everyman for his belly in the senate: as is the case with saraki, his supporters and his opponents. But do we give up? Do we yield and buckle under frustrating situations? No we can't afford to do that. Nigeria cannot afford to continue to sink. We need every kind of holdfast at this time in the history of this nation. There are Saboteurs, subverters whose joy are derived from the turmoil Nigeria faces. My dear Honourable Senator sir, we need you and more of your type up there. A wise man once said that 'if good people refuse to partake in politics, then they must suffer the rule of the bad and the inferior. |
Now imagine the kind of havoc and disaster those 40 snakelets could cause to ur Village if u hadn't killed Mother-snake and she delivered them. BTW... I learnt snake farming is a lucrative business, because of some oil that is extracted from them. I don't know how true this is. |
It deeply saddens my heart that I have to write on this thread/post again. The disease that plagued our fathers (the immediate past generation) is getting rife amongst us. We don't know that leadership, responsibility, accountability, fidelity are members of thesame body. If you want a philanthropist fine, u can name Bill gates and co. whose charitable activities are out of good heart and good will and you wouldn't hold/nag/question them if they did noting to better humanity. Yet, accountability and responsibility is their watchword. Now, our governors and leaders in all capacities; aren't they supposed to be better? They have a mandate, they have responsibilities to the citizens, they should be accountable to us. We have a vision and what we want to achieve. We had goals and targets. We are looking to better the lots of our children and children's children. A great man once said that "we do not inherit this earth from our fathers, but we borrow it from our children, the future generations, the tomorrow people". We deliberated and concluded that we select some set of people who share in our vision to show us the way to achieving our vision. We selected charismatic, eloquent, intelligent, courageous people to lead us. We gave them our mandates, we gave them responsibilities by putting the in position of power and the assured us that they would be accountable to us every step of the way. But what do we get from them? Mediocrity, Deceit, abuse of power, terror and threats, maltreatments, neglection, impunity, nepotism. What happened to the oath they took? Again, I say Akwa ibom doesn't deserve this kind of mediocrity from her leaders. Akwa ibom should be as beautiful as hawaii, cool as venice, developed as Singapore, politically stable as Liechtenstein. Come on, celebrating road construction and some park beautification in this 21st century? habaaaaa. When countries of the world are debating on more pressing issues. Chaiii, I believe if we know the difference between rights and privilege, responsibility and philanthrophism, we would have rejected this show of shame and malaignment from our leaders a long time ago. Youths of today, I am begging us to be futuristic and look beyond satisfying our stomach today. We deserve more from the people we elect to lead us. 2019 is near. Let every one wishing to contest in our localities know that it isn't going to be business as usual. If u want to serve, u must be ready to serve. Encourage forthright individuals among us to lead us, and not all these agberos who only want to wake up in moneyland. Posterity will demand from us how we spent our today. #BeWise God bless Nigeria |
Lordregalia, ur posts are interesting and educating. I love dogs and I would love to own some in the nearest future. We had a German Shepherd; Frisky was her name. My mom bought her in 2004 and it died in 2011. Very lovely, intelligent and cunny and very obedient too (except the times she had pups, she would be aggressive and very protective of her pups until after some few weeks and we would we start giving them milk to support her breast milk). She seems to know intents of people's heart cos she was Demola's best buddy and Yinka's sworn enemy (Yinka and Demola are siblings and they are our neighbour). Honestly, I have no explanation for this. Maybe u can help me out ![]() But we had a serious challenge; that is training and stopping her from pooing anywhere the thing caught her. Though she wouldn't poo inside the house, but chaiiiiii, na our compound space suffer am. Part of my morning chores was packing her poos ![]() I want to know if this can be dealt with. (I notice that our local dogs here don't just poo anywhere, cos we have one now; Silva.) I wish to know how u deal with this pooing of a thing. Are your boerboels trained to poo in a specific place? What if you take them for a walk or one of them is with u in the car and wants to poo, what happens? Thank you |
It is always about the message and what it wants to achieve, isn't it? Deception, entangling people especially teenagers and youths by putting them in bondage and creating strongholds in their minds. Porn is evil, straight from the darkest and the most dreadful part of hell. |
I laff in filipino If I hear wetin... the man no do shingbain, he didn't do shishi .Come to Akwa ibom, even Uyo, the state capital, he did nothing. Many unfinished road contracts. Ikot ekpene has got only Four point by sheraton (abi na akpabio build am?) the hotel management is counting their losses now. Wealth gap is just too wide and if u ain't working in mobil, u're just surviving in Akwa ibom. Eket nko? Chaiiiii. Akwa ibom's literacy rate is very low. Na okada youths dey do. Let me educate u @ OP, any growth/development or perceived growth/development must be inclusive. You don't call beautiful government house growth, u don't call some beautiful park or flyover with flood lighting at night growth. Growth is when it is felt across all functional sectors. Akpabio is the greatest thief. They say 'to whom much is given much is expected'. Dont be fooled guys. If you are not here, the stories u hear about Akwa ibom is doctored and full of lies. Akwa ibom is not very different from other poor states in nigeria. The good roads that lead into Akwa ibom are MNDA constructed roads and that is why they look good. Internal roads in Akwa ibom state/cities/towns are very bad. Situation of light here is not different from Osun state. Only Ibeno gets almost 24/7 light from Mobil. I've got so much to say. But I rest my fingers here. Akpabio is a superfraud and only few Akwa ibom people realise that. |
Guys abeg what is the total minutes allocated to the SJT questions? |
Kudos to the two state Governors. Sometimes ago, I discussed this same initiative with my Dad. It is just a pity that most of our past and present Governors are calabash heads, they are moronic and stupid. Did I just say that?? Yes, I did and I don't plan to take back those words until I am convinced otherwise. They depend on allocations from the FG. This explains why the governor of my state is confused and will do just anything to clear his debts, even if it means he wouldn't pay salaries or pay partial salaries. I guess you all wanna know this governor I bet he is just drying his school uniform by this time.In this case, Lagos has the population (market, money) industries (more money), tourism/hospitality (plenty money) + exports. Kebbi has the resources; Arable Land, animals, crops, strong and able-bodied abokis with big hoes. Now let the trade begin. Lagos' money for Kebbi's products. They are both gainers. More food for Lagosians, more raw materials for industries, more exports for exporters, more food and meats/barbecue for those expatriates in Eko Hotels et al. What of Kebbi? Gbam, IGR go rise up. Employment for plenty mallams. Money go dey for mallam to send his children to school instead of begging and making them potential targets for ISIS/Boko haram recruiters. Better life for the Kebbitans, just to name a few. We need more initiatives from our governors and leaders. God bless Lagos state God bless Kebbi State God go bless Osun state now u know my GovernorGod bless Nigeria. |
He backed up his views with Articles 15 and 16 of UNCAC and sections 8, 9 and 10 of the ICPC Act. He listed what is considered as corruption under Article 19 of UNCAC and Section 19 of the ICPC Act as: illicit enrichment, trading in influence etc. Abeg, what is illicit enrichment? Abi how do one enrich himself illicitly if he doesn't steal or dip his hands into public funds?? We are just playing around word semantics. Whether you say Corruption = Stealing and that Stealing is not corruption, don't you give meaning to whatever you define? Both are punishable by law. Detractors should be ready to dance to the tunes of the law. Abeg wetin no good no good joor. |

Happy birthday Sir. Indeed you have been a blessing to me and my family and the nation at large. God. Will continue to glorify himself through you and your ministry. |
. It is just coincidental. But I read through people's comments I don't forget things easily.
