@Gboyega

GboyegaD:

In conclusion, I think government and all stake holders really need think of proferring solutions to our current crises and forge ahead as a nation.

Thank you,

Please let this sink to your mind that government are established all over the world be it Democracy, Communism, Socialism, Capitalism, Monarch to favour only a few people. United States of  America was not build by Democrat or Republican government. It was built by Henry Ford who placed American on wheel, It was built by Thomas Alva Edison who light the whole of America with electricity even the White House. It was built by Andrew Carnagies Who built bridges over all rivers on America from Delaware River to California. It was built by the rail magnate. It is still being Built by  Bill Gate who is powering all most all computers with Microsoft, It still being built by Steve Job with Is Apple Ipod, Iphone, Ipad. Is still being built by Intel who build the Chips that is running all computers in the world.

Government don't build anything it set up by the few for the few as along as we look up to government we will always be redundant

Why do Nigerian graduate only think of Job immediately after graduation, why not a creator of their own Job. Friends no Job will pay you so much to satisfy your need. They pay you based on their bottom line, they pay you based on your productivity they are not father Christmas. I don't blame FCMB. When you beg to apply the term of the Job was clearly stated in your letter of employment. Being stupid enough you signed that you want to work not considering the aftermath of you action. When you could not cope you cried out to www.nairaland.com.

Friends the reality on ground is to go back to the era of our grand fathers they were farmers, they were free, married a lot of wives. They do not beg anybody for any job. They are truly independent. Our own fathers were educated, before they graduated job was waiting for them with a car, and well furnished house. But things have changed there are no more Job anywhere. All factories that hired our fathers have being turned to churches, mosque, fellowship centre. All their farms have being converted to religious camp.

Friends you have to wake up. you may not know that if you are selling Gala by the road side you will make more than 25,000 in a month, if you are selling eggs you will make more than that. If you are into laundry of cloth you will earn more than that. if you are selling Newspaper you will make more than that. But every body want to leave home in the morning suit up.

It is unfortunate the kind of education we are being giving in this part of the world is producing weaklings. Graduate who cannot stand on their own who will depend on JOB to survive.

I heard a story of a nigerian graduate of the the Federal University of Technology Akure who graduated with Second Class upper degree without job for five years, In the long run he decided to put his graduate toga aside and hustle with friends who are into saw milling withing one year of his hustling he has gotten a comfortable accommodation got electronics with a second hand car he was even planning a wedding ceremony.

He ran into some friend from Ghana who are also into the Timber trade, they told him how Ghana has being transformed by General Ralwins and every where you turn to it is money. Infact they said Ghana cedes is as good as American Dollar. Our friend doesnt think twice before he sold all he has aquired and headed to Ghana through motor Agege Park. When he got to Ghana. he did not know anybody. He moved into an Hotel, scouthing for jobs. He was told the that to get job in Ghana he need to know people up there, so long leg is not a Nigerian, it is even here he wondered. His means was getting thiner by the day, yet he could not find the cedes that is equal to American Dollar on the road.

In the long run he moved out of the hotel to squat with his new found friend in Ghana. He inquire on what they do for a living they told him they work in the Ghana port. The following day he followed them to the port when they got there he was expecting clearing and forwarding job they explained to him that their job is to steal car sterio, head lamp car horns of the imported cars. He said he could not steal. they pushed him away from their company.

Fortunately for him he got into of loading of cement into truck and he was helping to load trailers with cement in the night he sleep with other cement offloader in containers at the port.He continue is war of survival. One day he was spotted by one of the cement dealer that he could speak good english and look smarter than others, he was appointed a supervisor and place on an average salary and life began to bloom again, he was able to rent an apartment and settlesd down again in Ghana things began to look up for him.

After three years as a supervisor he over heard some fellow talking about stowaying on Ship to Europe and America he got discontented again, he fantasis about getting to America Gods own country whose turst in God hymnn, He made up his mind and joined the plan of eloping to America by ship. He again sold all he as gathered as a supervisor bought a lot of sandine and bread they perfect thier plan to run away in a vessel that carried cement to Ghana. They stealth their way into the ship and hide themselves in the engine room.

The ship was delayed in Ghana harbour for seven more day when it was cleared to leave thay have almost finish the supply of food they do not have access to take their birth, they do not have access to toilet. They were leaving with thier mess. Some died on the voyage due to sea sickness without medical help but he survived when the ship birthed. he was so happy he could not wait for the night to come. He and the surviving friends climb the vessel to escape by night into their new found country but unfortuantely for them they were spotted by custom agents they were arrested.

But what baffles him the most was that all the custom agent were black people and they were not speaking english. They were speaking another language, could this be America? are the customs black Americans? he asked himself. Early in the morning he was told that he was in the Democratic Republic of Congo and not United State of America unfortunatly Congo is at War and they were branded spies.

Friend that is the end of my story. If you can work wherever you are. (Don't tell me you can get work. remember the word of Amiel "We will either findd a way or make one" If you cant find a work create one. Somebody created the one you are applying for.) you can make it any where. But take you building your capacity anywhere you are and capacity building require skill acquisition both mental and physical skill.

Jobs/Vacancies / You Can Employ Youreelf And Others by benabbey(m): 2:49pm On Apr 24, 2010
The rate of unemployment this day in our nation is alarming. So many graduate are churn out yearly without corresponding industries created to absorb them. Unfortunately the curriculum we run in this part of the world was handed down by the colonial master it was designed to create job seekers. Nobody mention entrepreneurship in the university except as a factor of production. The lecturer themselves doesn't know how to be one, all they know is to teach some outdated theories and long jargon's that are not relevant in the job market.

Imagine somebody has not sit down to slave it out to create that enviable company you are dreaming to work. where will you apply to. Why not sit down and create something for yourself where you also can employ other people to work. Imagine if everybody create a company and employ five people unemployment will disappear from our country. But it is not easy to create anything. Most of us lack the intelligence to create, that is the bane of our country. But you can acquire the intelligence to create by reading, study and application of what you read and study. Great and Independent people don't seek for job because they know that job is only a means of existence. But they seek to create a legacy that will leave forever look at Author Guinness, Coca Cola, Phillip Electronic, Microsoft, Honda, Apple to name a few. how beautiful and eternal it will it be to have Olukunle, Oladele, Funsho as international and a reputable companies and household name.

Friends I have gotten some books written by those that have seen it all, by those who have built company from nothing to multibillion dollars. Men who don't owe Banks. But Banks are owning them a lot of intrest ,when you have billion in banks it is the Bank that is owing you intrest and principal.Men like Henry Ford, Andrew Carnage, Samuel Insull and a host of others. I will give you free Books written by these men or the books they read that inspire them to greatness.

I want to see a day when nobody will beg to apply because all of us will become entrepreneur and we will employ so many people. friends i don't have get rich formulae for this, but it take hard work, it takes diligence, determination and readiness to read, study success story and get motivated to create the same impact in our environment. Please if you are intrested write to benabbey2010@gmail.com to request for books that can stimulate your thought for job creation.

Celebrities / Azugate/punch Newspaper Latest:- Steve Ayorinde Finally Vindicated! by benabbey(m): 8:16pm On Apr 16, 2010
When Steve Ayorinde resigned and spoke out publicly about the corruption at Punch Newspaper by Mr Azu Ishiekwene Its ED Publications, some people doubted his story. After weeks of investigation by the panel set up by the Punch Newspaper chairman Chief Ogunsola, Mr Azu has finally been found guilty by the panel and Our Man Steve Ayorinde is vindicated. Last Friday Azu was seen packing his stuff from his desk after the Company's board met.

Ogunsola has now doctored the panel's report, He is writing in today's Punch Cover to say Azu retires from Punch to save face.

There is question we like Punch Newspaper and its Chairman to answer:-

Where did they get the N200 Million profit shared by board members from? This is unprecedented in a recession year, we feel this is a subtle bargain with the board not to humiliate Punch Newspaper & its chairman by sacking Azu which is what he deserves and more.

I will like to say a big thank you to Steve Ayorinde for speaking out. If more people in the media were like you (am sure there are) Journalism would grow and be respected in Nigeria.

Thanks everyone for joining the fight against media corruption.

PUNCH NEWSPAPER/OGUNSOLA! WE HOPE YOU ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS,

1)WHY WASN'T AZU SACKED IN-SPITE OF YOUR FINDINGS?

2)ANY BACKDOOR DEALS WITH AZU AND HIS BACKERS?

Education / From Autobiography Of Henry Ford In Own Word by benabbey(m): 4:12pm On Apr 15, 2010
This is excerpt from Autobiography of Henry Ford in his own word. If you like this book you can request from benabbey2010@gmail.com

Ideas are of themselves extraordinarily valuable, but an idea is just an idea. Almost any one can think up an idea. The thing that counts is developing it into a practical product.

The natural thing to do is to work—to recognize that prosperity and happiness can be obtained only through honest effort. Human ills flow largely from attempting to escape from this natural course.

We learn also that while men may decree social laws in conflict with natural laws, Nature vetoes
those laws more ruthlessly than did the Czars. Nature has vetoed the whole Soviet Republic.

Freedom is the right to work a decent length of time and to get a decent living for doing so; to be able to arrange the little personal details of one's own life. It is the aggregate of these and many other items of freedom which makes up the great idealistic Freedom.

There is in this country a sinister element that desires to creep in between the men who work with their hands and the men who think and plan for the men who work with their hands.

The primary functions are agriculture, manufacture, and transportation. Community life is impossible without them. They hold the world together. Raising things, making things, and earning things are as primitive as human need and yet as modern as anything can be. They are of the essence of physical life.

The foundations of society are the men and means to grow things, to make things, and to carry things. As long as agriculture, manufacture, and transportation survive, the world can survive any economic or social change. As we serve our jobs we serve the world.

There is plenty of work to do. Business is merely work. Speculation in things already produced—that is not business. It is just more or less respectable graft.

it is a waste of time to look to our state capitals or to Washington to do that which law was not designed to do. As long as we look to legislation to cure poverty or to abolish special privilege we are going to see poverty spread and special privilege grow. We have had enough of looking to Washington and we have had enough of legislators

When you get a whole country—as did ours—thinking that Washington is a sort of heaven and behind its clouds dwell omniscience and omnipotence, you are educating that country into a dependent state of mind which augurs ill for the future. Our help does not come from Washington, but from ourselves; our help may, however, go to Washington as a sort of central distribution point where all our efforts are coordinated for the general good. We may help the Government; the Government cannot help us.

The welfare of the country is squarely up to us as individuals. That is where it should be and that is where it is safest. Governments can promise something for nothing but they cannot deliver.

But it is work and work alone that can continue to deliver the goods—and that, down in his heart, is what every man knows.

Most men know they cannot get something for nothing.

If we cannot produce we cannot have

Through work and work alone may health, wealth, and happiness inevitably be secured.

He should most certainly be permitted to take away from the community an equivalent of what he contributes to it. If he contributes nothing he should take away nothing. He should have the freedom of starvation.

There can be no greater absurdity and no greater disservice to humanity in general than to insist that all men are equal.

A man ought to be able to live on a scale commensurate with the service that he renders.
Business is never as healthy as when, like a chicken, it must do a certain amount of scratching for what it gets.
Money comes naturally as the result of service. And it is absolutely necessary to have money. But we do not want to forget that the end of money is not ease but the opportunity to perform more.
service. In my mind nothing is more abhorrent than a life of ease. None of us has any right to ease.
There is no place in civilization for the idler.
Nothing could pay the way farming is conducted. The farmer follows luck and his forefathers. He does not know how economically to produce, and he does not know how to market. A manufacturer who knew how neither to produce nor to market would not long stay in business.

I spent twelve years before I had a Model T—which is what is known to-day as the Ford car—that suited me.
1. An absence of fear of the future and of veneration for the past. One who fears the future, who fears failure, limits his activities. Failure is only the opportunity more intelligently to begin again. There is no disgrace in honest failure; there is disgrace in fearing to fail. What is past is useful only as it suggests ways and means for progress.

2. A disregard of competition. Whoever does a thing best ought to be the one to do it. It is criminal to try to get business away from another man—criminal because one is then trying to lower for personal gain the condition of one's fellow man—to rule by force instead of by intelligence.
3. The putting of service before profit. Without a profit, business cannot extend. There is nothing inherently wrong about

The author of this thread is a very good fiction writer who took time to wrap the story around a dilemma of getting over aged for marriage and designed a write up to test the water of religiosity of nairaland. So many intelligent outburst has been written but to my mind the writer said she is a Christian sister, that is not plausible because there should be no fellowship between light and darkness. She also erroneously believe that she can convert her boy friend . You cannot change anybody point of view. Christianity is a mystery which can only be understand by those people who believe in it, for the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who don't believe but the power of God to salvation to its believers.

Personally I really appreciate the depth of logic of atheism, I have also taken my time to read widely about it, in fact I really love the writings  of great atheist like Thomas Paine, Our own Dr. Tai Solarin, Col Ingersoll and so many great mind who profess atheism. But before these fellow were born David Jesse has written four thousand years ago that "only the fool will say there is no God". Atheism is not a new philosophy it is there in the time of Pharaoh He does not believe in Jehovah  God, It is there in the time of Jesus the Sadducee don't believe in anything.

My final advise to any lady who may find herself in this situation is that Love, marriage, companionship is not the end of life. It is only in this part of the world that we define life by such  mundane things. It is part of our African mentality that is still troubling us. If an atheist will stand by his irrational believe and not bulge it is you who called yourself a Christian that should bow and throw away your faith to thrash can because of marriage or what have you. Evil communication corrupt good manner.  a world is enough for the wise

My interest is to see Nigeria and her citizen become a great nation like the United State that is why I have dug into the past history of this nation and lay my hand on one of the builder of the State Henry Ford who single handedly started a revolution of Motor cars. Do you know that until Ford cars came there are no need for High way in America. Imagine the amount of Steel consumed in the production of cars. imagine the number of people employed on the chain due to the ingenuity of one man.
Let your friend mention the name account number and the branch of the bank he paid to so that the good people of nairaland can investigate

Congratulation on obtaining your bachelors of art or science. The world does not have any regards for certificate again. The market is only interested in what VALUE you can bring to it.

The book is an autobiography of the great industrialist whose goal is to “build a motor car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. But it will be so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one—and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God's great open spaces." Henry Ford is his name.

@Marvis "Bakare has no buisness meddlin in politics, he should be somewhere praying for the nation and encouraging christians to have faith in God and not be carried away by politics. Who are the credible nigerians who contributed to his secretariat.
Bakare you have called your self to the service of God and u can't serve God and Mamon, leave politics to politicians and instead concentrate on soul winning"

By the work of Martin Luther King senior, while we have Obama today as the President of the United State through civil right work of Martin Luther King Junior.
