I have a friend who schools there and he told me there are a lot of jobs and in other neighboring cities but he said accomodation is an issue as there are a lot of people looking for accommodation especially for couples. However,he said it is easier if you have someone who can help you during the viewing process.

Good to hear and thanks
I've noticed that accommodation is difficult to get in many cities in the UK, hence one needs to start on time

So my personal statement actually exceeds this 4000, and I'll have to upload it, but I just want to be sure it won't be a problem exceeding that max allowed characters. Please, respond to this guys. Thanks.
There is no need in writing lengthy personal statement, hit the nail on the head, sell yourself as if an interview, and why you choose the school/UK.
I aced an offer with 560 words

Hello guys, I'm about starting this express entry journey, but I am a bit confused on the job reference letter since I have my own registered firm that has been running for two years now. How do I get a reference letter for myself. And can NYSC one year experience be added to work experience?

Yes I was issued a receipt from the school(Evergreen College). I filled the refund form and returned it with the refusal letter. They said it takes 4 to 5 weeks. I got a mail on the 14th that the money has been processed together with the Swift Copt of the transaction but till now the funds has not hit my account.
Hafa with yours? Did u call them on phone or sent an email for a reminder?
I will suggest you call the head office of your bank customer care and explain vividly to them with the processed refund document the school gave you, not the local branch because sometimes some of these branch customer care do not really have all the details at the headquarters. do that let us see how it goes.
for my own, they are yet to contact me, though it is 4 weeks already and I am still waiting cos they said 4-6 weeks.

@Frank and other gurus I have contacted my bank and they said they are not in receipt of the funds the school sent since on the 14th of November and the school kept on telling me they have sent the funds . please guys help me cos am confuse now and I don't want to loose my money. Pls what do I do?
@Freshprince777 please permit me to ask
which school is that?
did they issue you an official receipt when you paid the tuition?
if yes was it issued by the school's cashier's office
how long is their processing time for refund as stated on their refund policy?
did they send you a refund form when you applied for it?
if yes hope you filled it without errors?
is it the school cashier's office that have been communicating with you since the refund process?
please pardon my plenty questions I am in a somehow similar situation as you, although my refund processing time is 4-6 weeks as stated by the school on their refund policy, so I am still waiting as tomorrow makes my refund application 4 weeks.
provide answer to the questions let us put heads together on the way forward.

Sorry about this bro. These guys are mad. I think no one should bother applying for the rest of the year. I urge you not to give up. Defer admission to May, try one last time in January. Remember all we have spent so far on medicals and what not.

My personal plan is to apply January. If it comes out negative, it's straight to UK because of this new 2 years development. If that be the case, I'd still run EE after securing the masters, after all na 1 year masters with option to stay 2 years. Reason am

Thanks my guy, I will even prefer the express entry but I don't think only BEng certificate without masters will give me a high CRS score.

Good day nairaland family,
Application refused for the second time
submitted: September 18 (with upfront medical)
BVL: October 16
Refusal: October 16
Reasons for refusal
Family ties in Canada and country of residence
Limited personal assets and financial status
I got admitted to MEng civil engineering for winter 2020 at university of Windsor, had my BEng in civil engineering in 2015
three years experience plus a registered business of six months old,
I paid tuition deposit of 4000CAD
sponsor had 37kCAD plus extra in account to care for tuition(total tuition is 30kCAD)
I had 10kCAD plus 1.1m in personal account for living expenses and flight itinerary all well explained in SOP/LOE but still got refused,
note: first refusal was on insufficient funds to pay tuition, maintain myself and transport fare,
second refusal now family ties and limited assets
home ties:my functioning business, land, parents/siblings and future employment prospects
Family and siblings all employed in Nigeria

I wish all TRV hopefuls speedy approval and thanks to all those here using their time, knowledge and experience to assist others.
As for me I am out of this Canada game, let my use my hard earned cash to boost my company here and will thus visit other countries on my vacations instead of dashing those wicked VO's 150CAD per application.

What is the content of the correspondence letter dated 16th October? is it medical request or biometric validity?
if it is medical request then congratulations in advance but if it is biometric validity, then it is refusal but if you did upfront medical it is 50/50 approval or refusal

I have read other people's input as regards this ur post, and I can say I cant agree less.. But to me from my observation from last year ,the problem is the Nairobi Visa officers, I have this feeling they personally hate Nigeria applicants. Since when they have been in charge of study permit applications from Nigeria, we have seen very little rate of approval... For those of us that have been on this thread for over 1 year, we all know even when London and LAGOS were giving approvals anyhow like water then, these same Nairobi demons(Yes I call them demons cos they dnt have Joy) will still refuse any application dt comes their way, even if the application is super tight... Am not surprised of the rate of refusals now, immediately I learnt late last year that Nairobi will be in charge of Nigeria study permit, I knew we were in for it.. Since ma presence on this thread for over 2 years, I have never seen the rate of study permit refusals in this manner, and this is simply because the DEMONS themselves are in charge.. They only approve 1 application in like 20 applications.. I just pray the incoming Prime minister will be kind enough to do something about it, cos if not then it can only get worse... God help us.. Peace
You made a good point,
because it is obvious applications from Nigerians are not treated fairly, because you can't tell me majority of nationals from other countries are more qualified than Nigerians with all the effort we put into this visa thing,
anyway it is my prayer point: nothing is permanent, it is getting to the point that our applications will be taken from them to good and fair VO's
"oh baba God just like you delivered the Israelites from the hand of wicked Pharaoh and his armies, may Nigerian study permit applications to Canada be taken from Nairobi to those that will treat us well"

Bad economy state of the country and some fortunate Nigerians that acted against their stay conditions contributed to the negative outcome of the cic. So to know the true student its just like a camel going through the eyes of a needle, that is why intending student are even confused of the document to add to evident their true intention, my pal dey tell me say what about to add tv receipt, laptop receipt and future wedding invitation card, lolz.

the later part of your comment really got me laughing
but on a serious note IRCC should just make their conditions of giving study permit clear to Nigeria applicants,
perhaps making it compulsory for Nigerian applicants to pay first year tuition for those without funding.
making it compulsory to deposit first year living expenses with a Canadian bank(like German block account or something).
that way those qualified will know what they are bringing before application.

Good day all, please when filling the application form for study permit, what should I fill for tuition, room and board, others and also funds available for stay. The course is for 1year and eight months.
To add to what Mr. Frank explained I think IRCC want to see that the total tuition for your 18 months program is available, so show the total tuition and fill the amount in tuition column and it should reflect in your sponsor's account, forget what they stated in their website saying first year tuition bla bla bla, at this period I don't think that works for applicants from Nigeria because I was refused on insufficient funds to pay tuition even though I declared more than the first year.

Yes got refused 3rd time with this same generic reasons for late August - September.
First time personal assets and finance status. : increased money in account and added property.

2nd time Purpose of visit : wrote a 'banging SOP 2pages and LOE 3pages with the help of some grate men here. And it took about 3weeks of consistent writing, adding and subtracting.
As nothing to say again or they didn't even check the applications for this Sept at all, they now start dashing these three reasons.

Travel history: has nothing to do with a student besides my passport is not even empty.
Ties: LOL... I am married have a 2yrs old child, personal landed property, family landed properties..... I am not going with my child or spouse. Make I tell dem say Na my papa get National Stadium? Lol
Employment: Good government job with good pay, leave letter, reference letter from boss, job waiting for me, etc.
Sept 3rd - Sept 18th.
If you ask me what happened I will say nothing happened that they didn't even check the app.

Anyway, I de vex and they will meet me in Court.

sorry about the refusal
I swear, they did not review and verify this your application
haba! 2 weeks?
your case will definitely fly in court with a good immigration lawyer in Canada it's just that it will take time and money.

Please,is 20m enough to studying in Canada.
And Which Universities can I apply without Ieits or TOEFL.
it depends on the total tuition of the program you intend to pursue in Canada, check your propose school website or rather send them a mail to get the breakdown, plus living expenses of 10000CAD per year then you convert to naira to see the equivalent
Majority of universities/colleges in Canada do not require IELTS/TOEFL for candidates with Nigerian degrees, although there are very few that makes it mandatory if your first language is not English.

Submitted SOA 6M balance with 30M inflow ń outflow
Dad RSA 11M

NYSC cert
Valuation of Dad's two landed ppties
Recommendation letter from My Office
Cert of incorporation of my company regd in 2015
SOP
Dad sponsorship letter
BVL dropped 26th sept
Refusal dropped 27th sept
That was fast, 3rd Sept
someone paid tuition they said travel history and family ties, you did not pay tuition they will say insufficient funds, financial status and employment situation,
it is really a bad timing for study visa application for Nigerians
but we do not have to give up!
order your notes so as to touch every aspect and reapply.
