Well I leave everything in Gods hands .Pls how do I order for the notes? if you have someone in Canada he/she can order it for you, if not you will goggle gcms and check several third party sites to order it plus check their reviews very well. You can as well confirm from peeps here who recently ordered for theirs. |

Freshprince777: The refusal letter just dropped . Here are the reason for refusal. Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds: • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence. You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
@Frank, @naijaforeigner,@justmellow and other gurus in the house Please how do i tackle this?
i applied on the 3rd August I feel the refusal reasons here given by the VO is baseless, what is their own self, imagine someone bringing millions of hard earned money to the Canadian economy through tuition and here these vo's they shakara busying refusing people (even genuine students visa) is it even easy? is Canada Heaven self? don't people get sick, grow old and die there? is there no crime there? no accident? no suffering? (NONSENSE) how many people can afford it in Nigeria! This people are beginning to annoy me oooo, monies that can be used to venture into good business here in Nigeria, mtchewwwwwwwwwwwww guy i'm not to discourage u o just order the so called GCMS notes, put things in order and reapply (they also refused me last month on baseless reasons and I am about reapplying for the last time). |

[quote author=Naijaforeigner post=82540326]Let me add to what qudkom said. Long post alert.
(1) Getting a part time job depends on city and province. If you search on Indeed and physically go and hand in your resume in companies, you will get a job. Please don't be choosy, any job that comes first, do it.
(2) Canada education is not hard (my opinion) but it is super stressful and demanding. Make sure you have the right team. Ensure you move with people who share same goals with you. There will be days you will feel like giving up or no motivation to continue, it is your friends/team that will boost your morale in those low moments. There will be days you will have multiple assignments, reports or quizzes due and you need mental support, suggestions and so forth. This is where having the right support comes in.
The Chinese girl that had the best result in my program worked 3 days a week and she had 4.1 out of a possible 4.2. For a whole session , I had at least 98% attendance in all my modules, I worked part time and I had11A's and 1B. Another Nigerian lady in my program, had same result, she worked night shifts and combined it with school. Nigerians are strong and built for anything
(3) Taking care of living expenses with part time work is dependent on if you are working for full 20 hours. Most jobs are structured for 8 hours per shift, so some companies will give you just 2 days in a week because of the 20 hours work restriction students have, while some companies will give you 21/2 days (your exact 20 hours). Some students work 3 days, 22.5 or 24 hours. I do not recommend working above 20 hours though.
If you work for exact 20 hours in London, Ontario and its environs (Sarnia, Windsor), you will get at least 1000CAD monthly. Minimum wage in Ontario is 14 Cad. so lets do the maths; Accommodation = 450 - 550 Cad Feeding = about 150 Cad monthly Data = 50 Cad monthly
Total equals about 750 Cad. You can end up saving at least 200 Cad every month. Even if you do not get the exact 20 hours, 16 hours weekly can take care of feeding, accommodation and data if the student knows how to spend wisely.
P.s The major reason why International students (Nigerians) struggle in Canada is finance. Once you have money, tuition fully paid, you will do well in Canada. Thanks for the breakdown, you too much! If na stress then that's no problem because educational stress na our second name in naija, can u imagine i did a course in final year (civil engr) where the exam is 8 hours (one day), loads of assignments, reports and test throughout the semester, in fact most of my course mates then were complaining bitterly but we scaled through. thumbs up man! |

Qudkom: That's a good question. I'm also on part time basis for now and I can tell you it is very stressful. The Canadian education system is so demanding now I understand why they ask you not to work more than 20hrs a week. You literally come back home tired every day and trust me that's the reality check of Canada don't let anyone deceive you. It's a System here there isn't any African time syndrome. You have your lecture hours and shifts at work.
You can obviously work but to make it easier follow this tips:
1. Plan your courses well with your course advisor so you have enough free time. For example lectures Monday-Wednesday and working Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I hope you get the drift. Or classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday and working in between those days.
Balance is key and essential to having a good Education work balance till you get a better immigration status. Professors and assignment/quiz here are like 5&6. Some people actually take semester's off due to the pressure especially for thesis programs where you don't write exams just reports and projects.
P.s: when you are working part time what you make is mostly only good enough to pay monthly expenses so don't expect to save unless someone gives you money from home or something. Please be guided don't have misconceptions ! from your response I can sense you are good man, I wish you SUCCESS in your academic pursuit and your stay in Canada (I am a TRV hopeful for winter 2020, MEng university of Windsor). |

Qudkom: Hello Everyone, I want to make an observation of what I noticed regarding employment here in Canada. I am writing this post to prepare everyone intending to come over here about the reality of the Employment stream for new arrivals/Immigrants
"The wage gap between immigrants and Canadian-born workers has more than doubled in the last 30 years, according to a new report by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) — despite the federal government placing more emphasis on economic class immigration"
What the Bolded is saying is no matter your age or the amount of experience you have in your country employers here hardly value your international experience I'm not saying this happens to everyone but majority of people go through this problem. They go for interviews and because they view them as newcomers they offer them Minimum wage or the low compensation package. The bolded is actually a quote from an immigration writeup here in Canada and they are trying to bridge the gap.
Canada is a lovely place and you should definitely come but be prepared when I say prepared I mean mentally. A lot of students struggle with the education system and realise wow "They thought me rubbish in Nigeria" and have to adapt to the new process, the whole Country itself is a "System" you either fall in place or get kicked out.
I wish everyone a successful Transition into the Canadian culture. God bless and goodluck in your trv application and please note that this post us just to prepare your minds to bring that Unique Naija Hustle here and succeed Thanks for sharing here, but I want to ask; Is it difficult getting part time job as an international student? Some said combining part time job with schooling is almost impossible with the demanding nature of Canadian system of education, what's your take on this? Is it possible to take care of living expenses with part time job as an international graduate student? thanks for your anticipated response. |

Family ties @frankrobbn1 @mcobex @justmellow @sopwriter please help You need to work more on your SOP, I think u should specifically state what you intend to do with the proposed MEng that will fill a need in your office and upgrade you professionally as a justifiable reason to travel for studies, it will work fine if your internship is closely related to civil engineering. what are your future plans? do you intend to open a business/company that is into civil works when you return? The VO wants to see tangible benefits of the proposed program to you, your family and Nigeria on your return, include these points in your SOP if u did not do that before On current employment situation, I feel the unpaid internship does not go well with the VO, perhaps a full time paid job/business may sound more convincing of your employment status (my opinion though, other experienced peeps will shed more light) |

Frankrobbn1: Sorry about the outcome of your application boss!. Financial insufficiency is the easiest refusal grounds for a study to Canada. So don't have to panic okay.
Permit me to ask you, How much was in your brother's statement of account?, and how many dependants did he declare in his Sponsorship letter?. You said you've been self-employed since you last left school. Why didn't you include your personal bank statement to further buttress the fact that you're established to a degree that your proposed study would be a reasonable expense.
Provide the above answers to my questions, then I'll proceed to advice you properly on how to put up a good Application.
It shall end in praises. Thanks for your concern sir, 10.3m he declared none my account had a low balance when I applied, so we decided to use just his account since it covered my tuition and living expenses plus his pay slip and employment letter. |

[quote author=raymege post=81638598]The reasons clearly are related to the financial aspect of your application.
Adding to what others suggested, I think you should add the following :
a letter of support from your sponsor;if that was not provided earlier.
Considering your account isn't very strong, you could demonstrate financial muscle using Assets, properties; acquired or inherited. This will also serve as home ties.
Also, you should detail why and what your Brother stands to benefit from supporting your education.
Furthermore, detail how many dependants he has and explain how financing you would be sustainable for him and not turn out be too much of a burden on him.
In addition, you may need to include his payslip, employment letters, business docs etc to show some sustainability & consistently in his financial position.
Lastly, since you are self employed you should add your tax papers, contract papers/agreements with your clients,LPOs etc if available.
Better luck next time. thanks for the suggestion and advice, i' m strengthening those loopholes for my next application |

abelorode: Hello, I don't think he not adding his statement of account is 'what killed his application. Insufficient fund could be from the side of the sponsor especially if he/she have dependent(s). To the moniker, if re-applying soon, get a Co-sponsor, and age shouldn't be a problem if you can explain any study gap. I appreciate ur reply, I am increasing my balance and including my personal account this time and my sponsor had no dependants, just a new couple. |

I never knew this refusal can be so disheartening, gosh! Tuition fee for entire program is 30k CAD (I already Paid 4k CAD tuition deposit) Sponsor is elder brother with account balance covering entire tuition plus living expenses for a year. I did not include my personal account statement as at time of application due to a very low balance and inflow. Could it be just my account that is the problem? University of newbrunswick reject twice Manitoba. Once Saskatchewan 3times Dalhousie once Queens once

Please has anyone with such GPA got admission for masters? In Engineering field.
Please my people.. I need response .. many universities in Canada focus on your last 2 years GPA, if that 3.788 is your last two years GPA , then it is low for thesis masters, but for course based, it is low o, but few schools may consider it if there are few applicants to the program, plus check their admission average very well before applying, like 75% is 3.75/5.0. Uwindsor accepts that as minimum for course base masters in engineering |

SOPWriter: Firstly, I will not want to state our problems without the root cause; specifically, biasness is attributed to most living things, even other lower animals. Despite the reward obtained through this act, there are indirect harms it feeds us with. Definitely, you will be wondering how that applies to your Canadian Visa application! Oh, my friend, it does apply to everything you do….. You just have not discovered it yet and I will be glad to reveal this to you. In the post I emboldened earlier, there are two objects (Inability to evaluate and see through the mirror) that explain where our troubles are coming from: these two works together and could be, taken to be identical, however, there exist a disparity firmly resisting their articulation, but above all, our attitude of prejudice needs to be laid aside. To clarify, I will speak on each object:
INABILITY TO EVALUATE Our problem, specifically attributed to this part of the world, is that we do things based on luck; we believe in doing our imaginable best while we leave the best to God, you feel should never rest (sounds funny or harsh), let us try embrace the truth sometimes. Before applying for your visa, you are expected to know all requirements and makes sure you meet it: basically, focusing on f1: you should have a current admission, financial ability (available balance and assets that assures steady income), a statement of purpose that answer all necessary questions about you and your goals, reason for country, course, and school. To summarize, once you have this, you can proceed to your application but that still does not mean you are qualified, until you “see yourself through the mirror”.
SEEING YOURSELF THROUGH THE MIRROR When you look at yourself through that mirror, all you see is an image that reflects your physical structure, in contrast, when the image is broken, you see yourself in different point; the broken mirror picks and reflect the body part that faces it: when applying for your visa, you need to see yourself as that beast of a VO, who is looking for every slight opportunity to deny you, with this in mind: 1) You will not contradict yourself in your IMM form. 2) You will not fill your IMM form accurately and write something slightly different in your SOP. 3) You will not change your career path and never state it in your SOP 4) You will not submit an insufficient available balance, hoping for miracle. 5) Your CV will be identical with your IMM form. 6) You will not state unnecessary things that will raise eye ball while writing your SOP. 7) Your letter of intent will specifically explains your intention. 8 Your financial breakdown will not contradict your statement. 9) You will not make funny mistake that will question your already acquired degree certificate. 10) Your will not question your purpose of visit (depict immigration). I have taken my time to provide this with the best of my knowledge, and from my perception about people’s cases and experience, and I hope you will learn from this write up. I am not a traveling agent, but a writing services provider. Notwithstanding, I consider this necessary to enlighten my fellow Nigerians. Very informative, weldone |

For the past 2 months, I have been sending an email to various supervisors with no positive response. Some don't even reply.
I would appreciate any suggestion university of Calgary and Ryerson university stated that you do not need a supervisor prior to application that you will be assigned one if admitted, but they encourage every applicant to contact potential supervisors as it gives you higher chance of securing admission and scholarship with a supervisor that accepted you, but it is not compulsory to do that. why not check their website and contact the program you want to apply to. |

But what I need at the moment is the unofficial one which will be sent to me. Does anyone have any advice for me? Most schools in Nigeria issue the unofficial transcript popularly called Student Copy. Tell them you will be using it to apply for postgraduate program and it will be issued to you after some weeks. Student/unofficial transcript is issued to the applicant or someone sent by you. |
